Title: How do I fix a boolprop bug?
Post by: laurasfavorite on February 29, 2008, 08:41:22 pm
My sims were on their honeymoon at the pre-created Far East Vacation spot in the Fire Dragon hotel or something to that effect. I had forgotten to turn off boolProp, and so the newlywed wife stopped walking. She still turns her head, but she doesn't walk. I figured she'd be ok if a few seconds as my concierge walked in. After he put my ordered Chile Con Carne on the table, he didn't move, so my still walking Sim couldn't get it. Then I had both the concierge and my lady stuck. I guessed it was boolProp so I turned it off, but they still didn't move. I can't use moveObjects, because they are on vacation. I saved the game (another mistake there, I suppose) and restarted it, and the problem was still there.... I've asked on a bunch of websites and no one seems to have offered a fix.... what should I do?

What I was thinking was moving the family out of their house and then back in, but I don't want to have to put things back n their house again.... there must be another fix?

Best thing to do, by the sound of things is to actually turn boolprop back on, lol. Force an error on both sims, and reset. The food'll disappear, but the sims should get unstuck.
See if that works, and if it doesn't, we'll see what else we can do, lol.

okay. this is a bit long winded. turn on boolprop testingcheatsenabled true. Pause the game, and click your mouse button + press the shift button on the sim you want to reset, go through the menu that comes up, until you find 'force error'. A blue dialog box will come up with three choices. I can't remember the first one, but the other two are 'reset' and 'delete'. Delete will obv delete the sim, and reset will just make him/her jump and well, be reset, and hopefully unstuck.

Hope it works ;) And by the way, it won't bork your game... well... least it shouldn't. I have the boolprops on all the time more or less and it's never really affected my game.

Yeah, it had never affected my game before until now, and I read that this was a fairly common glitch. and when I hit force error, nothing pops up =/ I've forced error on other things to see what would happen, and no window has ever popped up. Maybe I should point out that I have a mac?

oh dear. I have a pc, lol. Maybe if you post in the mac section of the help forum you might get more info. It's worth a try :/

or maybe http://www.sims2wiki.info might have something more on it than I'd know. Sorry. D:
