Title: HELP! Sims Problem!
Post by: Crow1213 on July 22, 2008, 06:31:14 pm
Okay so my sims can't call any member of their family even if they know them. But they can call everyone else and anyone who isn't in their family can call the person who is. Any idea of how to fix it?

If you had a family member move out of the house, and didn't save the game since then, the game still considers that family member to be on the lot.  You can't call anyone on the lot.

Once you do save, you still won't be able to call that family member because they don't have a phone, they will be in the Sim Bin.  Move them into a house and give them a phone.

Not the problem. I've done all of that already.

I was afraid of that...
Are you using any phone mods?

Two possible solutions here...

If you've ever downloaded any houses, you may have picked up some hacks you didn't know about.  Use Sims2Pack Clean Installer from MTS2 to scan your Downloads folder, sort by Type, and look for the 32 character filesnames that have no file type.  If you find any delete them.  Then try the phone again.

The other thing you could try is moving the family out of the house, then moving them back in, although another lot/house may be better.  The phone controller may be corrupt.  This is the only way I know to reset it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I used the Sims2Pack Clean Installer and found the source of the problem. I am so relieved.
