Post by: simpleprincess on July 24, 2008, 05:42:31 am From what I gather Tiko has left the sims resource forum, ive downloaded their straw roofs thatched but cannot see it anywhere in roof patterns? or anywhere else in roofs? I have no idea how to put the thatched roof on my houses now plus I downloaded this other thatched roof that I downloaded as part of a lot and it looks lovely on the house but im confused how they got it on there,. im completely baffled..

To be honest, the majority of the time, people (and at times even I) would tell you it's best to seek support on the site that you downloaded that specific object from, since there are probably more people who would know how to work around the download in question there... but if I can see what that looks like, I may have an idea as to how or why it may not be working for you. :angel: Title: How Do I get this roof to work? Title: How Do I get this roof to work? Post by: ancienthighway on July 24, 2008, 10:52:41 am Tiko states the roof is "part of a CFE roof construction". I can only guess that means you start with a flat roof, then use the cheat constrainFloorElevation to give it the angle.

I just want to add that thatched roof. sorry im just still confused. :( What I want to do is this... go into my game, into my fav lot, type in the cheat, ] removing the roof thats there first]. They were a little difficult to find, but Google brought this (http://website.lineone.net/~andrewhdknock/TikosSims2Tutorials.htm) up for me. Check the first "Interesting Roofs" tutorial for your answer. Basically the same thing as Dinki's. ;)
And from the looks of it, seems like the textures you are actually looking for should really show up under "floors" instead of under the "roof" texture category. Tiko's thatched "roof" isn't a true roof, and is supposed to be a texture involving intermediate-advanced building methods for roofs. ;) Title: How Do I get this roof to work? Post by: ancienthighway on July 25, 2008, 10:15:05 am It's not a simple roof to make. If you are just wanting a thatched roof, you may be better off going to MTS2 for some roof recolors. I picked up 4 or 5 different roof recolors there that give me the same number of different thatched options. I put my roof on and chose the one I wanted.

I did actually download it thinking it was just a recolour!. silly me.*blush* Ill take a look at the tutorial though. and ill poke around at the modthe sims2 for the roofs as well.
