Title: Help- Apartment refusing to be an apartment!
Post by: ktggoodnight on January 07, 2009, 12:46:24 am
Okay let me describe the problem because there is no way of putting it in one sentance..

When I use the cheat changeLotZoning apartmentbase to change the lot i am building from residential to an apartments. It comes up with one of your apartments is not being recognised, to edit this you will have to change your lot zone to residential and change it. So far okay...

BUT! I have tried all the reasons I can think of to get this apartment to comply! AND IT STILL WONT!!

I have three houses on this lot- one has 5 flats, one has two the other house is just one apartment. Its the one apartment/house that giving me the grief.

I have made sure all the below, cant think of anything else!

- has apartment door and only one
- is fenced in all the way round
- has no other doors/gates

HELP!

I wonder if you could show a pic, then I may help you. I have went thru all the boo-boos to making apts so I can see what the problem is.

Did you make an apt on a foundation? That one is problematic.
If you only have one door in all the apts, why is there a fence?

I can answer better if I see it. :)

First, the apt door is turned the wrong way.  I may be missing it, but I don't see the entrance to the second floor. I assume that is the second apt?  There should be 2 separate entrances, an apt door to each apt.  I see the exit to the yard is accessed by the first floor, but no access to a yard or exit for the second floor, and how will they access the beach? I would like to see the second floor.

I am impressed with the ability to have a beach apt. I haven't tried it yet, but I know some who did and they were not successful.  They had problems with the lot sinking and looking wierd. I really think the building is a great concept.  I wish you much success with it. :)

Thanks so much for the comment on the duplex apts.  My sims love it also. :D

Oh wow. A beach apartment. Didn't know it could be done properly. Maybe that's why you're having issues?

But like the previous user said, your door is backwards.

It was just the door!! *face palm*

Thank you!!

well its a beach community - 3 buildings - 1 home, 2 apartments and 5 apartments in the last building with a communal beach- only way you can do it as you can build on the sand.

here you go!
