Title: Maxis Kitchen & Bath Robe & UV Mapping Post by: Julie J on February 28, 2009, 12:31:20 pm I've been trying to make the maxis robe that came with Kitchen & Bath EP have Bloom's Sexy Feet.
I've managed to succesfully cut the slippers and change the feet but there's a new problem on the UV Map the belt from the robe overlaps the feet and I can't remove the textures off the feet. Is there any good guides out there for UV Mapping and can anyone give me a few pointers? :) Any help would be appreciated - Thanks ;D Title: Re: Maxis Kitchen & Bath Robe & UV Mapping Post by: BlooM on March 01, 2009, 07:59:24 am Few asked to make these a default sexyfeet replacement but as you finding out also both textures interfear.....reason i never finished them.
But since this isn't a default replacement, is it? You can reposition the belt and/or shoes on the uvmap to a spot were they dont messup the feet and toes. Then, in bodyshop you do the same with the textures. I did this already(with and without the slippers) for the cpu and rengal here: http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,87331.0.html (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,87331.0.html) Title: Re: Maxis Kitchen & Bath Robe & UV Mapping Post by: Julie J on July 21, 2009, 12:46:50 pm I took a long break from this before trying again and found it impossible to re-map even trying different robe meshes and the same thing. 1headwall
I'm still quite new to this and find it frutrating still ;) Might try to make a robe mesh for the SBB instead. I already made a few of those(as i told you earlier) and as far as i remember i either moved the textures(and parts on the uvmap) or gave the outfit a second subset(meshgroup) http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,87331.0.html (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,87331.0.html) You can use that recolor and clone it again with bodyshop. Then attache your own meshfile to it. Title: Re: Maxis Kitchen & Bath Robe & UV Mapping Post by: Julie J on July 22, 2009, 06:14:24 pm I've never done a subset succesfully before always end up with legs missing lol
Thanks Bloom for the help - going to give this another try :) Title: Re: Maxis Kitchen & Bath Robe & UV Mapping Post by: BlooM on July 22, 2009, 09:19:50 pm I've never done a subset succesfully before always end up with legs missing lol Thanks Bloom for the help - going to give this another try :) You dont have to add another subset in the recolor file, just use the Rengal or rio. Clone it and attache a new mesh to it.(ez with the pjse tool) Open my meshfile and look how i splitup the feet and shoes into 2 seperate meshgroups. Do the same with your mesh and load them in your meshfile. The mesh is HERE (http://www.mediafire.com/?2mwrwlymybm) Title: Re: Maxis Kitchen & Bath Robe & UV Mapping Post by: BlooM on July 25, 2009, 05:42:51 am The mesh is perfect!
So the problem lays within the recolor. That particular recolor does need 2 subsets, one for the body and one for the barefoot. So that you can recolor both the robe and feet on a diffrent bmp file. That way the parts of the robe will not interfear with the feet. You can add a new subset to any existing maxis outfit(recolor) using this tutorial: http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,51352.0.html (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,51352.0.html) It is a bit difficult(well, you need to focus a little bit :D) If this is complete abacadabra, ill pop one out for you. Or you use one of my files: http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,75265.0.html (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,75265.0.html) If you take this outfit *Clone it with bodyshop *Open that new recolor with simpe *attache your mesh to it, or make a new. *change the subset called flipflops into barefoot(its one of the last lines in the propertyset), click commit and save. *Clone it again with bodyshop and fix the textures. EDIT, OH, i had another look at your mesh and you forgot to delete the sexyfeet on the body!!! Your will need 2 meshgroups, one for the body(without the feet) and one for the feet. Title: Re: Maxis Kitchen & Bath Robe & UV Mapping Post by: Julie J on July 25, 2009, 06:30:31 pm I followed the tutorial and the textures won't export in Body Shop and the mesh shows up as a Maxis suit.
I tried using your file too. Maybe this is all to abracadabra to me after all LOL - Thank you so much for all your help with this Bloom it's appreciated :D Title: Re: Maxis Kitchen & Bath Robe & UV Mapping Post by: BlooM on July 25, 2009, 07:54:47 pm pm me your email and ill pop one out for ya ;)
