I remember this happening to me before, whenever I click on the phone in the buy catalog or click on it in the household an error comes up called, Phone- Line Controller.

It annoys the heck outta me and I'm not sure what to do, when I reset it it comes back, and deleting it does nothing. Please help!!

I'm not quite sure how to do that, what do you mean? Oh, and I thought that I might add, that I think it might have had something to do with the maxis pregnant meshes, and I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?

What do the pregnancy meshes have to do with phones? I have both the male and female pregnancy meshes for Maxis clothing and all my phones are fine, seeing as pregnancy meshes don't affect telephones.

To get a log, activate debug mode (enter boolprop testingcheatsenabled true at the neighbourhood screen, before you enter a lot). Then try to buy a phone - write down the filename of the error log that generates. Then attempt to use a phone - write down the filename of the error log that generates.

Go to the Logs folder in My Docs>EA Games>TS2 and upload those two files to a post here, saying which is which.

I know, but last time I downloaded that I think this happened and when I took it out it fixed itself. I just redownloaded it, I forgot about it, and appeariantly the problem is back.

Interesting. Nothing like that happens in my game and I have all the pregnancy meshes base game through AL plus all the male ones by transylvanian.

Can you please post the error logs like Pescado requested?

When my sim Jeighley clicked on it, here's what came up.

And when I click on it in the electronics catalog.

I know, I seem stupid and you may be getting frustrated with me, but I have no clue how to get to the error logs, nor how to post them. Where do I go from Sims 2?

have you any kind of hacked phones? have you tried deleting all the phones in the household then try to buy new phones?

Yeah, I deleted all of the downloaded phones out of the catalog. *sigh*

ok you deleted all your custom phones out of the catalog. did you then log out of the game and go into your sims downloads and make sure they were actually gone, and then delete accessory.cache, groups.cache and everything in the Thumbnails folder?

I've already deleted the accessory caches and the other ones, and I'm not sure which file the phone is in my downloads folder.

did you try to do a search using the word "phone"?  it might just turn up something. it is worth a shot.

I did, but around 100 files showed up. I tried telephone, and 3 showed up. I deleted them. Now I'm going ingame to go check it out. Thanks for trying to help. I'll let you know if it works.  ;)

EDIT: It didn't work. But it only happens when boolprop is on.

And my game crashed.

Try using Clean installer to scan your downloads folder and see if you can find a hack that goes by the name that keeps popping up in your error log.

now post your error log as an attachment from your Sims 2 folder in your Logs folder. The one with the newest date and time I mean.

reply to this message and under the white box where you type is the words additional options. Click on the "+" and it opens up. you will see Attach and a long rectangular box and the button that says "browse". Press browse and go to your Sims 2 folder, open the Logs file and click once on the most recent .txt file. The name will appear in the long rectangular box. then press post.

I know how to post it now, but I can't find the stinkin' file. >.<

in My Documents, open open EA Games, open The Sims 2, open Logs. Your most recent logs should be at the top. if they aren't sort them so they are. Attach the one that has info in it (most of them should have 0 kb). Have you already looked here but you have no .txt files for tonight in there?

Ah, here's the phone error that happens when I click on it in the catalog.

Good job!  Now you just have to wait until someone who knows what that all means takes a look at it.

Okay. I hope someone can help me with this. This happened to me a LONG time ago, and I couldn't figure it out then either.  :p

EDIT: I fixed it! Whenever I loaded up the game I checked the list that comes up before the neighborhoods and after the loading screen, and there was one with the yellow exclamation mark or something that had random letters, like

So I deleted it, and started my game up again, and I checked, and the phone problem is gone! Hurray!
