I hope I am posting this in the right area as i always dont. anway.
I wanted some advice I guess you could say.
You see I made some face templates and uploaded them to MTS but they were rejected...
The reason was..they werent quite ready..They needed more tweaking...

I asked at the create forums at MTS2 and I only had one answer saying the foreheads all looked the same size and because of that all the faces looked similiar..

Let me know honestly what you think...and if you think I need tweaking done..please let me know where.....Because I am pretty happy with them myself and I want toknow what to do.

what?? they all look so different, personaly i think there all great and i would definatly use them in my game.
the only thing i would suggest, is maybe making some lips quite thick and some thinner and maybe raise or lower the full face on some of them so the foreheads look different sizes.

do you have to post them on mts  or is there nowere else you could try?

i think yu did a great job anyway, 100 times better than what i could do, i saw some of your sims on here and i think there so pretty, so dont give up :D

The high foreheads were a concern...I guess all my sims ahve them in game ahah so i naturally just make them...
and female to male lips are really annoying...like i had males with huge lips..nice size medium you know.
its really odd.

anyway!! I dont have to put them on mts2.  But when they were rejected I just wanted to know what I could do maybe to make them even better..
But Im possibly too lazy right now.

i think you should try uploading them to a few places and see what response you get
just because mod says there not good enough it doesnt mean they wont be appreciated elsewere :D, im always looking for different face replacements, and even if you didnt make changes to them id still use them in game.

and im new in insim so i dont no what type of sim stuff goes on here, but id definatly give it ago.

No, IS would not mind you uploading them here at all ;). Here, we at Insim recognize that opinions differ, and what one person may not like so much another person may adore, so we encourage variety :)

We also encourage sharing, cause sharing is caring...  1rofl So yeah, upload here!   1fanku

Here are a few more things that were said abut my faces at the feeback forum..

Well, I think the problem goes a bit deeper than just foreheads and hair. I think the problem is some of them are rather... odd looking. Others are just a bit ugly. (Don't get me wrong, but there are plenty of very nice-looking sims in your set!) There are just quite a few that need some fixing up to look more normal. While they look normal with a custom skintone because the nose texture and eye texture tends to smooth things like that out, people with Maxis-only skintones will be very dissapointed. Here are a few examples (just from the female so I don't start mixing up numbers)
Unnaturally tilted eyes (while eyes tilt a little, these tilt a bit too much):
1, 9, 11, 12, 23
Unnaturally bulbous noses (nobody says your sims need to all be beauty queens, but these noses are a bit out of control. To have differences in nose shapes that are larger, try making black sims, whose larger noses compliment their facial features without being so bulbous. Also added are just oddly shaped noses):
7, 12, 18, 19

Yeah, I agree with WWW here - unusual faces are fine but with Maxis skins, several of the noses/eyes look pretty weird. They mostly look okay with the custom skins, but since the idea is to create face templates that can be used with any skin (including Maxis) I'd focus on making them look good (not necessarily attractive) with Maxis skin - take out your defaults when creating them, use a really plain Maxis hair with a normal hairline (for females, the basic "missing mesh" straight mid-part is good, and for males, either of the short sort of spiked up ones from the base game), and just work on them that way - don't even put custom skin on them at all until you've finished all your tweaking. It's a good method to use in general when creating sims, since you're eye isn't swayed by texturing which may distort your perception of certain shapes.

Some noses(if not most of them) are too close to the upper lip and the toddler/kids versions might look ...odd. Also, the noses all seem the same to me, only some are a bit wider than others. Use some more tools while re-shaping them, like nose turn-up, you can make them pointy, long, short, etc. And also, how noses, mouth, eyes, eyebrows merge together and with the whole face structure matters alot for normal-looking simmies.
I saw some nice faces you made there and I would love to download.(I like 2, 5, 22 and 24)

Is this true..Because I liked my faces....  I like the noses....I think its good to have variety and I didnt think they were ugly:(

But Ive seen some horrid faces get accepted so it makes me wonder....

and a question for a mod here..If I were to upload them here...what section in th genetic area would you suggest??

Again, those are the personal opinions of two people. This is what I don't like about many sites' "quality control" policies. Too often it comes down to a matter of taste. They've let through some things I've personally thought are completely hideous.

I like the differences in them, and how none of them is "perfectly" pretty, something you see in a lot of other default replacements. The thing with the facial templates is, once you choose one, you can tweak it yourself in BS or CAS if it's not quite what you need, from high foreheads, to bulbous noses. ;)  The thing I notice is the eyes; quite a few of them of them have a similar 'sleepy eyed' quality that reminds me a bit of either Judy Garland or Liza Minelli. Do you see what I mean (I hope so). If I was to tweak anything at all, it would be that, but you're free to ignore that and post this as is. :)

If you do, they would probably be best uploaded here (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/board,326.0.html). We have another set of default face templates and that's where they are. :)

If I was looking for a replacement set of faces, I'd definitely give these a look.

Something about MTS2's somewhat slippery policy for creators has kept me from even looking for a place for my mods.  I don't even know what's posted any more, but I've seen and heard of enough people that followed the letter of the post just to be rejected because someone on the approval committee didn't like some minute detail.

IS is friendlier when it comes to creators posting their work.

OOHH caffeinated.joy thank you so much.  I believe in that too.  I dont like to say things but Ive seen some horrid things get accepted and it does make you wonder what kind of stuff they reject. ANd some templates Ive downloaded in the past dont look like they are supposed to...and its a bit confusing.

:)  I tried to make them unique and pretty in different ways I guess you could say and the sleepy eyes I believe I understand you completely....I guess face templates are mainly made out of a person sim making taste....:)

So thank you:)  MTS2 didnt they reject brunos lovely underwears lately!!! Its a crime.  I go on MTS a bit coz sometimes they will have some nice things.:)  But yeah.

I have noticed IS is a lot more friendlier. You get better feedback etc. So I am more than happy to share:)

i really dislike some of the face reps on mts, some are just do similar to original maxis faces just a bit smoothed out, and the townies still look ugly! its just personal taste i guess but i dont think yours look ugly at all, i thort that was a bit harsh saying that.

They certainly did. She uploaded them to GOS (Garden of Shadows) saying they got rejected for being "porn undies" or something similar, but they were nothing of the sort! MTS2 does have some strange standards when it comes to uploads.

And yes, it is nicer here :) We're a lot more open-minded about such things ;)

We have no approval policy here, if you want to upload then do so - so long as it's pg13 then all is good :D

I have stopped uploading to MTS2 long time ago. Too much politics.  :-\  All I upload are lots, but it is stress free and fun with loads more honest feedback. Like Ali said, it's all about a certain simmers taste and wants for the game. :D
