His band at the time, The Arrows, performed it on their hit TV show in the UK around 1975. Joan Jett who was in the UK at that time with her all female band The Runaways saw this performance and did her own version of the song with her new band The Blackhearts, around 1982. She did not give Alan credit for the song until years later. |
