Title: Rant/Rave thread
Post by: imaeatyaface on April 15, 2009, 09:13:44 pm
This is just a thread to post your rants and raves, be it school, family, friends whatever. Just, please try to keep it civil though.

I had two little things irritate me today and I thought I would share.

1. The Octo-mom lady is being given a tv show. That is JUST what she needs, to be rewarded with a tv show. I doubt this thing will go on for more that a few episodes before this thing is over, because most of America (especially California) hates this woman. I'm sorry, but if you already have 6 kids that you can't afford, paying to get invitro so you can get pregnant with more is just moronic. This lady should be punished, not given a tv show. She's a total mental case for doing this, and the doctor that performed this should be freakin fired. This lady has no way to support her first 6 children besides 'disability' and the American tax payers. Disability, my butt! If you have the strength to be a stripper for a year (it takes some work), and the strength to carry around a huge pregnant stomach, not to mention going out to get your hair done/ nails done/ lip jobs...etc, you are probably NOT disabled. And when you live like this, with 6 children, on welfare, it prooves that you are mentally disabled or something if you get pregnant again, on purpose with 6 more eggs...so what if 2 split? That was a stupid decision on her behalf. Welfare is for people that need a helping hand (believe me, I have been there at one point in my life, it sucks), not for bimbo women to be fully supported to where she has the ability to have 14 children!

2. This one is just silly, not even a big deal but I felt like sharing. This girl that I have recently met was talking about her very small and petty problems in her life, and I just happened to tell her that her life is not that bad. She flipped and was like, "F--- you! You don't know what my life is like! You don't know what I have to go through every day." I told her, "No, I don't but you were just talking about it just now." She got mad and went on a rant about how she is sick of people judging and labeling her, and that everyone is mean to her just because she is emo. So, I was thinking, "Whoa! Back up. She's mad at people for labeling her, when she just this second labeled herself as an 'emo'"? What the heck is that all about? It doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm surprised more people have not used this thread. Getting out minor irritations feels good, and it helps keep the day on the right path. The rest of the day was totally fine.

I hear you about the Octomom, Senko. She makes me want to kill someone. Mainly the dumb people giving her publicity.

My rant for today: I have to deal with family tomorrow.  WHYYYYYYYYY ...

I know, they're just incouranging her. Another annoying thing, she thinks she's Angelina Jolie. Well I got news for her. Angelina Jolie has the ability to care for ALL of her children.

I'm sorry about family, Naria. Families can be such a pain in the tuchus.

MY NEIGHBORS WONT TALK TO ME ANYMORE!! i cannot stand this!!!  they are my best friends, practically my siblings, then all the sudden one of his school 'friends' comes along with her sister, and now they have been over two maybe three days in a row. i hate these girls, they are stealing some of the only friends i have left. i wanna cry!! :'( i can't understand them. they TORTURE MY NIEGHBORS, and not the fun way that i do, i mean they do it mentally. and they are WAYYYY too girlie, which is the opposite of the 15 year old boy, 4 year old boy, and 12 year old tom boy. and me, too. I WANNA TELL THEM TO GO LICK A HOBO'S TOES!!

^I'm sorry! That must be really rough... I know how that is. Good luck!

Mine? My boyfriend's parents forbid him to see me... again. For the 861808908th time this year. They don't like that he's almost 18 (he'll be 18 this month) and I'm two years and five months younger (I just turned 15 and a half). His parents totally invaded his and my privacy- they read all of our texts without any consent. See, I may be 15 and a half, but with the level of responsibility I've had all my life (I'm an only child, and my parents are deaf, among other things), my mom and dad always say I'm like a 21 year old in a 15 year old's body. His parents just really don't want to take the time to get to know me, or anything. They barely know me at all, and they judge me...
Anyways.
Anybody else been in a similar situation?

1. My Internet browser frequently bring up the (Not Responding) tag when doing mind-blowingly simple tasks, like scrolling up and down or closing a tab. And then, once the NR tag disappears, said browser has the nerve to not do what I ordered it to do.
2. I'm attracted to one of my sister's friends.
3. I REALLY need to get a job.

1. I'm getting too lazy! ARGH!
I need to go run or something, but I can't go anywhere!

2. Staying at my grandmother's for a week. Nothing to do but computer. Chubby tummy, here I come! :(
I'll be needing to run around my apartment block when I get home, and then go to the store. A mile away.
And then back again.

WOO.

kody knows i like him so his sister kept bugging me.
i blew up at my friend Angel for calling herself gay and lame, just beacuse some guys called her that, one she didn't even like.
karli is mad at me for both the above reasons, and wont talk to me.
i almost just passed out.
i just screamed i ahve rabies.
i just almost vomited.
i no longer have 100000000 "siblings" i now have 2 plus the real ones.
wow the world just blew up in front of my face and my cousin laughed at me.
EVERYTHING HAS TO GET WORSE BEFORE IT CAN GET ANY BETTER!!

i just read that each of her kids is getting paid at least $250 a day when this "TV show" gets started. to me, she sounds like another Joe Jackson in the making. all she's doing is just selling those kids out, so she could probably to get pregnant, again! look, lady, America hates you enough already, so what's the f***ing point in trying to get a TV show so you could possibly squeeze out more, in your case, unnecassary ***********? in fact, i've even made a sim of her and killed her in my game repeatedly. 3thumb

now, compare this woman to the Duggar family. yes, Michelle and Jim Bob have eighteen kids, but, 1.) Michelle didn't use fertility drugs to give herself that many kids. it's true that she was on the pill, but after miscarrying the very first kid, she stopped taking it and the rest is history. 2.) they don't see their kids as a way of making money, but as blessing from God. and 3.) and the most important, they can fully support and care for ALL of their kids! they live debt-free, which, i honestly think would be impossible with that many kids, and both Michelle and Jim Bob worked hard for the money. plus, they have six kids that are fifteen and over, which might help bring in the bread if they let them have part-time jobs.

ugh...i can't believe i just compared the Duggars to that woman. i'd better go before i get my butt in more trouble.

My biggest pet peeve: Big Families

Sure, my family was originally a very large family. My grandmother came from a family of 13 kids, but then large families were very common in the late 1890s to early 1920s, so nothing could be done about that.

Today, I read and hear about news regarding these families. The Duggar family may not be selling their kids out for a few bucks by having a tv show to brag about having this many kids. BUT they are getting attention for simply having that many kids anyway. I suspect they wouldn't turn down free stuff and help if they were offered any.

The Octo-mom... I am very glad I don't live in CA. My mom unfortunately lives in CA, and her tax money is going to the care of these kids because of the Octo-mom not having the means to support herself and her kids. I won't support some idiot who lied to us, the tax-paying public, about her health, mental, job and general conditions. I pay taxes, and I want to see my tax money be used for better things like getting an education for the children in my district, getting the programs funded for the children in my district as well as road repairs and other economic opportunities or improvements in my district, city and state. Unfortunately, the Octo-mom's family will cost CA in millions of dollars to be taken care of. Thanks, lady, for opening our eyes and introducing new legislation to stop people like you from having more kids!!

I personally questioned her integrity, honesty and judgment after I read about how she hurt her back severely on the job when she worked at a facility caring for some sick folks. If she hurt her back that bad, then why did she go out and get herself knocked up at the doctor's office? Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on the back, hips and legs as the months wear on. She claimed she was unable to work because of her bad back, but yet, she was able to carry all of those babies inside her to almost a full 9 months without issue. Somebody should look into that benefits claim carefully and deny her any request for unemployment or assistance. If she's capable of carrying that many kids in her uterus and walk around without much difficulty, then she's capable of getting a *gasp* JOB!

I also questioned the ethics and decisions her doctor(s) made in supporting or providing services to this lady because if she told the doctors about her medical condition(s) like her bad back, the doctor(s) would tell her straight up that she shouldn't attempt getting pregnant or getting on fertility drugs to produce kids. They should've told her up front that carrying more kids would put a lot of undue strain on the back and that it would be wise to cull the eggs down to a child or two if they decide she was medically sound to become pregnant albeit her back problems. I understood that the doctors were being looked into for what they did. I'm not sure if there was any investigation from the CA medical board, but I could be wrong. I know I would be busy introducing new bills or adding stringent requirements to license doctors in a way that this woman or any other woman like her wouldn't pull this stunt off and piss off millions of CA residents like what the Octo-mom did.

Yeah, I heard she was getting a tv show. And a mansion costing millions of dollars at the courtesy of tax-paying CA residents. A family from MO is offering her and her brood a place to live. IF she does accept the offer sometimes down the road, I'm moving out of MO. I don't want to support a stupid woman and her brood with my tax money that could've gone to programs and schools for the children in my district, city and state instead of to her and her kids.

She needs to have her head examined because she once told the public that the reason she wanted a large family was because she was a lonely, single child growing up with no siblings. My cousin was a single, lonely child growing up in an abusive family, but he didn't want a large family like she did. He had more common sense and a head on his shoulders. She got a lot of mental issues for sure.

Kate Goss and whateverhisnameis.... I'm surprised I never heard of them and their large family. They did take advantage of the fact they had a lot of kids, but they sold themselves and their kids out for money. You know.. I never seen their show and never cared to hear about them or other large families in the news. But still, they used their kids to gain fame and money for themselves. Never once did they think about their children and put their children's best interests ahead of their own. Greedy parents like them should be shot in the foot.. or drug off to the children's homes in Russia to see these abandoned kids live the rest of their lives at these homes until they're shoved out of the only places they get food and clothes from at 18. A family in my city adopted a beautiful boy from a children's home in eastern Russia after they looked at different options to have more children, and they chose to adopt a child who was already born and needing a family to live with and be cared for and loved.

*steps off the soapbox*

To me, John and Kate, as well as the Duggars are psychotic, but not nearly as bad as Octomom, because like Chaavik said, they have all the money that they need to fully support their kids, without the shows being on tv. My problem with huge families is (and I know a little about this because I grew up in a town that having 6-8 kids was normal) the parents do not have time to raise all of them. They do not have enough hours in the day to parent 8+ children, especially when they have young babies. With my experience, the older siblings have been given the duty to care for the younger ones that the mom and dad do not have time for. And that is NOT fair to the other kids. I fully support and understand simply helping out, but these other children should not be raising their siblings. If they wanted to raise children, they would have their own. That is the only beef I have about John/Kate/Duggars/HUGE families. I think if you can't mother and father all of your children without needing everyday things done for you by other children, you should stop having them. Kids need to be allowed to be kids, not little parents, unless they do have their own children.

But the Octomom has no husband/father figure. The crazy woman was the mother of 6 children before the other 8 came along. She had no money before, and was living off of roughly $2,000 a month in food stamps, medicald, and disability for her and 3 of her children. She's not even disabled. If you can go get your hair and nails done, shop and lug around a huge pregnant tummy, that is not disability, that is pro 'milking the system'. The woman knew she had no means to take care of the children she had but she still got pregnant again, ON PURPOSE with 6 more wggs which turned into 8 kids. And she wonders why everyone hates her?

Title: Re: Rant/Rave thread
Post by: Chaavik on July 25, 2009, 01:46:19 pm
I find it ironic that she had the money to go get herself on fertility drugs and use the services to get herself knocked up after having 8 kids! All of this stuff would cost more than 5,000 dollars if the services stretched over a few months because fertility drugs don't take effect immediately until after 2 or 3 months.

And yet, she couldn't afford to care for all of her kids with disability benefits, public aid assistance, WIC, Medicaid, Medicare and food stamps. Many people aren't eligible for any of these benefits, and they have kids to feed and clothe, BUT they always managed to put their children's interests first before theirs.

I knew a couple who I was friends with for years who raised 5 kids. The father was married to his first wife and had 2 kids (the first wife had 2 other kids by a different father before they married), but he divorced her because they could not reconcile their differences. He worked as a freelance tattoo artist and barely made money to support himself and his second wife. They had a child together. Then one day, he got a call and was told that his ex-wife committed suicide. The children had no place to go. He, out of generosity and love, took the kids in despite the fact that he and his wife were barely making money for themselves and their child. Unfortunately, one of the four children taken in by the father witnessed the mother's suicide and required extensive mental and emotional counseling for as long as he lives. And guess what? They managed themselves without complaining too much about money issues. Don't all families have money issues? But did they go on and make more kids? No. After the second wife had her child, she went on the pill. She chose not to have any more kids.

How did she afford the monthly hair and nail jobs? That money should've went to the care of the kids full stop.

That is my biggest pet peeve out of all the pet peeves I have - thoughtless parents and their huge families.

Octomom also gets her lip injections too, and I read in a magazine she got plastic surgery as well after the babies were born. Yeah, INF costs between $5,000 and $15,000, and you have to pay for it for a period of months. Why wasn't this money being spent on her previous 8 children? That is insane!

Title: Re: Rant/Rave thread
Post by: Chaavik on July 25, 2009, 08:58:02 pm
That's so insane.. So stupid.. So thoughtless of Octo-mom to put herself first before her kids. Why bother to have 8 more children when she only cared about herself? The selfish little b-..

Title: Re: Rant/Rave thread
Post by: SenkoTwiik on July 25, 2009, 10:16:49 pm
I know, huh. And why on Earth would she even waste money getting plastic surgeries to make herself look better? She has 14 kids!! No man in his right mind is going to go near that! Her getting plastic surgery makes about as much sense as when Jessica Rabbit hit Roger Rabbit in the head with a pan because she didn't want him to get hurt.

Title: Re: Rant/Rave thread
Post by: Chaavik on July 25, 2009, 11:46:35 pm
That 15,000 dollars could've sent at least the first 8 kids to a 2 year college to get their associate degrees as a starting point.

Really.. I never will understand why some women like Octo-mom chose to make themselves look better than to look after their kids' welfare and make sure they have FUTURES.

My other pet peeve: News Media

They got nothing better to do than to report on these big families especially Octo-mom's family. Get with the program, newspeople! Who give a rat about these thoughtless women when there are human interests out there like children in the community needing programs to improve their minds and lives.

Title: Re: Rant/Rave thread

Exactly, if these morons would spend less time sticking their necks into other people's business (especially people that don't freakin need/want the attention), and more time reporting on things that the world needs to hear about. We might have a smarter country that actually has a clue about any of the goings on within it. Instead of people knowing first aid, what colleges are even affordable, how to change the tires of their own cars, what their tax dollars are being spent on, dietary health, etc useful things, they all seem to care about, "Oh my God! John and Kate are divorcing!" or "Oooh, I wonder who Jessica Simpson is dating." or "Wow, Octo-mom is getting a tv show." Why do we need to know these things?

Title: Re: Rant/Rave thread
Post by: soulofthesea on July 26, 2009, 06:06:12 pm
i know that some will aruge, "It's called Freedom of the Press!" to those people, i'm sorry, but that celebrity gossip garbage is NOT news! seriously, who wants to hear about this actor's night out with a total stranger, or some other actress' custody battle with her rock star ex? it's all distracting from the main point of the news! maybe some of us want more info on Obama's recent press conference instead of his European vacation when he cheated on Michelle. (i know that never happened, but it's just a scenario :P) leave all the celebrities' personal lives out of the media! they don't belong there!

which brings me to another pet peeve: reality shows, celebrity reality or not....1gah

trust me, i may have some issues, which i really need to see a pyschologist for, but i have a strong sense of reality, and those reality shows ain't it! sure, some of the drama between the cast is somewhat amusing, i'll admit that, but you could tell almost all of the drama's scripted. and besides, in reality, do people pull you out of your everyday life so you could give youir thoughts on what's going on? i didn't think so!

Title: Re: Rant/Rave thread

Totally agreed here. I hate reality tv. Why in the holy heavens would anyone in their right mind want to watch dumb bimbo Jessica Simpson try to decide whether tuna was chicken or tuna for a full 30 minutes?! Or watch the boring old Duggars with their zoo of children trying to act like they are perfect. Don't they think we have better things to do? I honestly don't like to watch the news because a lot of things are too depressing for me, but still. Right now I am more interested in that Medical overhall the president is proposing. I think Americans getting free medical is more important than John's meth-head looking girlfriend and how long he started dating her after the divorce.

1chair <-- What I'd like to do to all reality TV, most especially talent shows. I've been waiting years for the reality TV trend to die in a fire, and it hasn't happened yet.  :'( So I stick to watching fantasy shows, some cartoons, and Jeopardy.

And a rant to add ... why can't an adult watch cartoons without being deemed childish? What's so wrong with liking kids movies and cartoons? They are cute, funny, lighthearted, and don't make me want to jump off a cliff. Should I always have to stick with depressing drama movies instead because it's better suited to me? Spongebob Squarepants is downright hilarious and the Penguins of Madagascar show is my dream come true, I love penguins.

I can't go to bed because he'll go upstairs with me and he'll wake up my parents and my Dad is sick right now and has to go to work early in the morning. Argh! No, I already owned a cowardly cat. She'll claw me if she's scared of something.

I hate reality tv period. Whoever started this reality tv trend needs to just shove off to some island and never be heard from again.

There is nothing wrong with watching cartoons or Disney movies because they are light-hearted and funny compared to the trash they dish out as tv shows and movies.

Haha, I prefer cartoons too, and I'm 20 years old. They're honestly so much less mindless than all the adult tv crap out there. I would rather watch dumb old Spongebob and his antics more than sitting in front of the tv during a soap opera about how some girl is pregnant, and she is going to marry some guy but she thinks the baby might belong to one of two other guys, besides her fiancee, one of which is a rich debutant and the other who is dead in a fire accident. HOW LAME! My mom used to watch that crap on General Hospital all the time, and it is just as mindless as cartoons, but cartoons are more entertaining.

I'm 20 as well, Senko. I agree so completely. My Mom watches soap operas (All My Children & One Life to Live) and from what I can hear of them when she watches them it's all a bunch of badly written baby kidnapping. Seriously, who wants to watch that?  Besides my Mom, anyway.

I have no idea who in their right mind could sit in front of the tv for an hour a day watching the same old senseless chatter. My mom used to be obsessed with it to the point of where she wouldn't let anyone speak during her show, even if it was really important. We had to wait til commercial, when she would pry her eyes away from her PRECIOUS GH episode that wasn't much different than the last. I don't know why she gave such a crap about the skank Carly and any one of the 3 men she was sleeping around with, or that one rich guy and all his criminal stuff, or the dumb nurse lady that named her two daughters boys names. Urg. Here's my rant for the day: pushy vegetarians.
If you're a vegetarian, don't be offended. It's your choice whether you want to eat meat or not, and that's all well and good if you don't. But I can't freakin stand when people are vegetarians and they try to say that meat is murder, and that no people need to eat meat, and all of us that do are disgusting. It would be nice to live in their little land of make-believe but no.

Eating meat is part of nature not murder. Lions, tigers, and any other meat-eating critter on this Earth hunts and kills and eats meat for survival. It needs to be done. You can't expect to lecture them on it, and they frankly would die if their diet was changed that drastically. And yes, meat does too have minerals that the human body needs to survive, proteins and amino acids. Sure you can get those from a pill suppliment but I am NOT disgusting because I go with my natural instincts in the food chain and I eat meat. Good for you if you don't, but man that kind of judgment is annoying. You don't see me going up to vegetarians and telling them that they're sickening. Some people really need to learn how to cool it.

Grandmas can be so insane sometimes. Daemian is really lucky that my mom is a good grandma. I'm not so lucky. My grandma has helped me through some stuff when I needed, but she does it so that she has something to brag about to the rest of the family. I mentioned in another thread that she tried to invite herself to stay at MY house for a month to help me with MY baby was born, to help me. She did the same thing with Daemian. Both times I said no, because my husband and I together can take care of our babies. If I can't handle my own, I shouldn't be a mom.

She tried to invite herself to my ultrasound, and Daemian's birth almost 2 years ago. I don't know where she gets this sense of entitlement. She invited herself to come to this baby's birth as well, but I think "If you're not the man that put the baby in there or the doctor (or nurses) that is going to pull the baby out, DON'T expect to be at the birth!"

So I totally understand about the pain in the crack grandma.

I didn't even let my own mother be there, and I love the heck out of my mom. But she totally understood and was fine with not being at Daemian's birth. She was just glad to see him afterward, like any normal grandma would be. Gosh, I got tired of all the freakin visitors though, going to see my baby and bug me last time. This time I think I'll let my mom, dad, Edgar, and Brandon's parents come to the hospital, but not my aunt and her kids or Brandon's aunt and her kids. My husband's aunt is a CRAPPY mom and her kids are both little brats. The first time I met Brandon's grandma, she and his aunt spent the whole time they were in the hospital room talking crap about my sister-in-law Jaime. It was a really bad first impression.

Sooo happy I'm over the maths... I actually liked maths until the last three years we had it at school. Useless teacher who could spend hours teaching someone 2+2...  :-\

Still loads of snow, still want it to GO AWAY! And now they shoveled the sidewalk, but didn't do it properly, so it's slippery. Yay... not.

Hate my short-term memory, that went out the window several years ago (metaphorically speaking). I've not seen it again after that, but I could really need it back before the weekend.

Corportation is ruining everything. I just read an article on Yahoo Music that Men At Work were being sued for plagirizing "Kookabura" for their hit, "Down Under". The company, Larrikin Music, who purchased the rights to "Kookabura" in 1990, claimed the plagirism on Men At Work's 1982 hit. Are they seriously causing a stupid lawsuit over a single measure of music?! Four measley beats?!? "Down Under" was published nearly 30 years ago, and now they're making a big stink about it? Now, I understand the original "Kookabura" songwriter whining about it when "Down Under" first appeared on the radio, so why now?! *sigh* It's all about the money nowadays.

Ugh! Something that irritates the hell out of me always is something I call over-feminism. Sure, I'm proud to be a woman and it's cool when other women are proud of who they are too. But I hate when feminist girls think that they are entitled to do ANYTHING they want just because they're women. We're WOMEN, not Gods. There's a line. As human beings, they don't deserve special treatment just because of their gender. We are supposed to be fighting for equality, not supremacy.

And for heaven's sake, when words are spelled with "men" at the end instead of "myn", it is NOT a direct attack on you. It's just the spelling of a word. Find other things to be passionate about.

Oh, here's another one: school systems. I get that people want to have a brighter and more intelligent generation of school-goers, but they're doing it the worng way. I recently read an article in the Houston Chronicle about HISD proposing "year-round school" for the lowest schools in that district, which will eventually be in effect all over the state! Do they know what school from September to July is going to do instead of "making kids more willing to learn"? It's going to increase school-related stress, decrease interest in academics, increase drop-out rates, increase teen suicides due to overwhelming school-related stress (as if teen suicide rates weren't bad enough already), and, not to mention, decrease standardized test scores. And if extending the school year wasn't bad enough, they're also planning on taking away the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Breaks, and all school holidays. Well, guess what? Teachers need those breaks, too! I showed my dad the article, and, because he's a teacher, he usually takes the board's side, but even he said this was going too far!

I guess they really are trying to make school like prison in the old days. School's supposed to be a place where one can learn things that will actually help them in life, when instead they're teaching us things that appear on a test one time, and no student will use ever again in their life! Which leads me to another pet peeve: corrupt policy-makers who try to tack a solution to a genuine problem that has nothing to to with the problem, or will most likely make it worse. Case-in-point, read that last paragraph about the school systems.

*steps off soapbox*

*jumps back on soapbox*

By the way, here's mine and my brother's solution to school-related stress: Add an additional hour and forty-five minutes (two periods) to the instructional day, but in return, get Monday as an off-day. This will decrease stress, give students more credits, which will eventually lead to better test scores. My old history teacher said that some school districts in the Northwest have this down, and their schools' test scores are actually better than they were several years ago!

*steps back off the soapbox*

I totally agree. Making kids go to school longer isn't going to solve anything. Goodness. If all they're doing is jamming worthless crap in your heads, what's the point? We need to just take after Japanese schools in some ways. Teach some of the things they teach, stuff that is practical. Personally, I always thought school was too long anyway. There is no reason to make it longer. And trying to take away holidays? Come on. That's dumb, and we all know it will just lead to more truancy, because there's no way kids are going to school on Xmas, whether the school wants them to be or not. Kids have lives too, and it shouldn't be 100% confined to school.

Title: Re: Rant/Rave thread
Post by: Carlwashere on March 04, 2010, 04:35:02 pm
Japanese kids have to go to school on weekends. If anything, it's tons longer.
The school system could use some work, because after 5 full weeks it just drags on. Personally, my school system is one of the better ones. If it was my choice, I could be certified as an ambulance assistant or even a nurse (with one year after graduating). And it's nothing out of pocket for me. I could get certified to work with ac units and appliances, and tons of other service industry related stuff. My school really lets you spread to your interests. If only I didn't have so many. I already have a business level education in the basics of electronics. I've done the entire 01010011100 thing.

But this is more on the length of the school year, so I'll get back on that. Eff a longer school year! It's long enough.  ;D
My opinion on that is simple. 1/2 of the year is enough. I agree 100% of a kid's life shouldn't be just school. The other half of my year I spend expanding my own interests or just plain relaxing.
If all we had in our lives was school, we'd all have the same stupid talents. (Which includes, but is by no way limited too,: spinning a pencil with our fingers, the ability to sleep WHILE writing (my math notes prove this), and how to express "What the heck am I supposed to do" with body language.)

I freakin' hate my English teacher right now. I have an essay that I need to do and she's been ragging on me for not starting it. The reason I haven't started it is because I was absent the day she handed out the rubric, and she refuses to let me have one. Well, how am I supposed to know how to write my essay if I don't know what you want from it and you bite my head off whenever I ask, "How do you want this essay done?" Give me somewhere to start! Even college professors give their students some idea of how they want their term papers!

My rant(s?) for today:

Is anyone else but me upset by the current "I want my own thread" forums? I am! I've been looking through all the pictures hidden deep into the depths of all my folders, and I am not pleased. Some of the simmers from here that I practically considered "gods" are now gone, and they're threads have been abandoned. :'(
I miss seeing all the happy families of simmers like Diesel and Sliimshaydi, and Dynasty. And lots of others that I can't seem to pinpoint a name on. Either way, I really miss all the wonderful threads and all the pictures... I knew Diesel's self sim family better than my own!
And I miss seeing all of them!

Other rant:

I am about to impale my ex, Brandon, with a stick.
He does drugs, and deals them (EWWW!!!) and he "borrowed" money from my friend and never repaid him, and when my friend's girlfriend confronted him about it the other day he told her he would punch my friend in the face! And just after we broke up, I still liked/loved him, and then he goes and kisses one of my BEST friends. It's like he came down here from Otter-land (he used to live in a city called otter something...) just to make my life hell, start all this drama, and mess up everything! I'm like, DUDE. Everything, for one everything was going perfect. And now, it's not!

More rants:

Well Jade has been sick for over a month now, and I am praying it's her teeth because if it's not, I'm gonna go full freak out!

Moooore rants:

So Clay is doing great, however, he doesn't have whatever Jade has, which means what Jade has isn't contagious... which scares me a bit... actually none of us got it.

Dang I have a lot of rants today! More:

My school is doing this AWESOME thing tomorrow, where if you support gay marriage you wear black and don't talk for a whole day (yes, black. Our school's thing for stuff like this is always black, "blackout" days.) and I sent a forward to everyone in my school who I had their #. Well I made the mistake of sending it to a kid named Mike, who officially ruined my day :P

Mike: Why?

Me: It's a gay pride thing...

Mike: Not doing it... I'm going to wear all white.

Me: Jerk!

Mike: Why? Because I don't support gays?... of course I don't I'm a christian and I will not support gays

Me: I'm a Christian too. But if I were gay I wouldn't want someone making a law saying I can't get married!

Mike: If you were a Christian then you should know that being a homosexual is wrong...

Me: I am a Christian, and it's not wrong. Love cannot be wrong.

Mike: If it's with the same sex... god made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve... I'm done talking bout this... you asked the wrong person to support it... bye.

Me: Well I'm not gonna argue. But the final thing I will say is: someone out there probably thinks there's something wrong with you too.

Mike: Yup and they are wrong...

Me: No they aren't! Doesn't God make people? He wouldn't make gay people if he didn't want them around!

Mike: It's a sinful world and he doesn't create gay people... people choose to be gay/lesbian...

Me: Whatever.

Mike: Yup so bye.

Me: Bye jerk.

And then he called me immature, what?!?!?!?!?
I need to hit him with a mop. Maybe then he'll be a nice human worthy of life :P

I know I posted a lot... but I'm really mad at so many things/people right now...

Wow. That is a lot.  :p

Sure. Our religion doesn't support homosexuality. But it doesn't support hate toward it either. In fact, I'm pretty sure "love your neighbor" applies here also.

Our religion also doesn't support contraception. No one gives a crap about that. Hypocritical is a good word for it. People only listen to the parts they want to hear.

Regardless, there's too many beliefs to make it worth your time to push a person from their view. I'm a "let it be" kinda person.
A person persuaded against their will, holds their position still. I got that from a youtube comment. Of all things to get something like that from.
I heard about that type of thing. My school's not doing it though.

Umm... Now on to my rants/raves.

Err... I don't have much to complain about.
Algebra 2 homework. But I'm pretty much a broken record when it comes to that.  ;D

I'm married for a year now and there are no kidlets planned. I don't want any at the moment(down the line yes) but I keep getting asked constantly by my parents and in-laws where are the kids? What kids? Not any time soon! My mother just told me, if I wait to long I'll be too old to have them...the heck is wrong with people...They push the fact that I must stay in school, yet they push the facts that they want grand kids in my face too! It's like decide what you want, because there can only be one...( no pun intended...okey, maybe a little) This is so stressful and frustrating, ugh! Sometimes, I just wanna say, there will be no kids, I will be a strict career woman, leave me alone! >_< But it's not true and I don't even what to do sometimes....

Ok.. Where to start?

First: I really really hate being a girl for one week.

Second: Stupid teacher. We're 15, not 5 you halfwit.

Third: Silly parents. We ain't gonna do anything like that. I do have morals ya know. Their very tiny, but they are there.

Fourth: Yes I can't work without my mum. Yes I'm sure. No, I don't need you to help me. Yes it will be done. No, I don't give a rats.

Fifth: Don't wanna go next week. I don't want to spend a whole week with other students and my ex.

Raves:
First: She's home tonight!
Second: You gotta love the fact that whenever the teachers ask me a question, and I give the answer, no student says that I'm wrong.

Rants/Raves:
Ok, as I'm sure some (most) of you have been in the Insim Confessional thread recently and read that my sister is most likely pregnant. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited and happy for her. But I'm also nervous as all heck.. I'm a pretty rubbish cousin, and I'm a pretty mean sister.. so how am I gonna go being an auntie? And at 15 as well..

Oh goodness, don't get me started on the gay/bible debate. LOL. Whoops, too late.

First, the bible was translated from Ancient Hebrew, to Greek, to Latin, to German and then, finally, to English. There are some things that are bound to have gotten lost in the translation.

Second, there are plenty of things that were acceptable in the bible that we don't do now. Most of us don't marry our sisters (Abraham did it), have multiple wives (too many people to mention) or sentence adulterers to be stoned to death. I'll add, too, that in Leviticus it says we can't round off the side growth of our heads or beards (so I guess the Beatles are going/went straight to Hell). Football is also technically a no-no, because Leviticus also prohibits the touching the flesh of pigs. Divorce? According to Mark, it's a big, bad no-no, but society is rife with it. In fact, also according Mark, anyone who divorces and remarries is committing adultery and we're supposed to stone adulterers.

Leviticus is big on saying 'no' to a lot of things we do today. It doesn't just prohibit round hair cuts and touching leather, it prohibits a lot of food (shellfish, for one). It's actually the basis of the kosher diet, which I'm not trying to put down at all. I'm simply using it to make a point, so please, no angry Jewish people banging on my door. It bans the wearing of gold, pearls, braiding hair, wearing costly garments and getting tattoos. It forbids consulting fortune tellers, mediums and spiritualists (which technically makes consulting your horoscope a Bad Thing). It forbids the cross-breeding of cattle, sowing a field with two kinds of seed or wearing clothes made of blended fabric (say goodbye to Angus beef, most vegetables you get at a farmer's market today and just about every article of clothing you wear). Most Christians ignore the rules set forth in Leviticus because it's Old Testament and thought of as out of date because we know things now about cultivation, health and biology that weren't known then.

Well, guess where "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Comes from? Yep. Leviticus. Isn't it a bit of a hypocritical convenience to ignore all of Leviticus' laws but that one? Personally, I can't ever remember seeing anyone pointing at someone wearing a poly-blend shirt and calling them a sinner.

Edit: Also, I just want to say this isn't supposed to be taken as a bash post against Christians and Christianity. I'm simply pointing out a hypocrisy some people are guilty of.

Good God Almighty, don't get me started with religion, especially certain Christians (keyword: certain, not all). If there's two kinds of Christians that bother me the most, it's the hypocrites and the ones who try to shove their beliefs down everyone's throats. Those are the people who are giving Christianity a bad name, up to the point where the good ones will eventually have to re-invent themselves. I honestly can't decide if the hypocrites or the "missionaries" are worse. Probably the "missionaries". You know the kind, the ones who say "If you're homosexual, you're going to hell," or "God hates you if you don't believe in Jesus," or even try to mix the church with the government. First off, does God even care if you're gay? Second, I'll believe in whatever the hell I want to believe! And third, church and government will never mix, it never worked out in the colonial days. These people seriously need to wake up and smell the coffee and realize it's no longer 1624, and society's changed! I really hate how they try to control our society with hackneyed views. They try to ban books that they most likely have never read, or deemed some kinds of music as "devil music". The thing with the music is, if people do kill themselves or someone else, don't bame the music they listen to! By the way, if they want to label something as "devil music", let it be Disney pop, hip-hop, or electronic. Seriously, anyone with that little talent and can still occupy the charts has to be from the devil. :D

OK, enough of me being a pessemist. In reality, if there has to be a brand of Christianity I like, it's probably the Lutherans or Methodists because they're so open-minded and laid back. Those are probably the only two who allow people of all backgrounds and races to come and worship.

Ok.. Another slight rant/rave again.. our house is now under contract for $230K.. Australian obviously :P

I personally have nothing against people who are religious, I think we should be able to believe what we want and love who we love.
I wouldn't call myself Christian or anything like that.. but according to Wikipedia what I am is Irreligious. Which means I follow the morals and commandments and things like that, but I don't go to church and I don't think that there is anything after life or things like that.

On another note, Can we please make Disney pop be 'devil music'?

I admit I do like some Disney music. Not really the I-wanna-be-princess songs and the likes (*pukes*), but the ones made by artists like Phil Collins (like "on my way" - Cute, happy song that always makes me cheer up a bit).

And I'm getting tired of the missionaries that runs around in the town with leaflets. They've even called on our door several times, and puts the leaflets either on our stairs or in the mailbox if we don't care to open. Yeah, like I want to open the door for strangers at ten in the evening when it's dark, and I'm alone. "Can I interest you in the message of..." No. "Do you want to hear more about this amazing guy who..." No, I said! "Are you sure..." NO, I said!
I can't ever remember to have gone to the church voluntarily on a sunday unless there was some event (like christenings, weddings and so on). I'm not personally Christian, and I don't really intend to turn my nose that way, either. While my father's family (except him, I think) are members of all kinds of weird Christian communities, my mother's side of the family are far more relaxed. Mom rarely go to church, and I'm not so sure she's personally Christian any longer. It's just become a family tradition to be Christened and have weddings in the church. I guess it's more tradition than belief, really.
I sort of believe in angels, but I don't really think they are God's messengers. I just think there might be spirits or souls (or whatever becomes of a person when he dies) flying around in another dimension. And "angel" is just a pretty word for it. It's a nice thought, to feel that someone you have lost is watching over you.

Rant for today: I need a 36 or 48 hour day instead of 24 hours. 24 is far too little  5cry

And that clock is going way too fast...

They were there Tuesday-Thursday, then they found out the recording of our choir singing could have gotten them sued, so now they're back! I love having a camera up my nose while I eat or course,  But they have OVERSTAYED thery're welcome!

I like some songs, like songs from the little mermaid and snow white and cinderella.. and I don't mind like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. Some Miley Cyrus songs annoy me, and Hannah Montana does.. I really really don't like the Jonas Brothers.

Fathers and siblings are annoying..

My dad keeps poking me and it hurts sometimes.. I'm not as big as he thinks I am.
My brother doesn't know what privacy is even when I tell him to get the heck away (slight change of words really)
My sister keeps being suggestive and insensitive about me leaving my boyfriend..

Anyone caught listening to Disney pop over the age of 13 needs to be beat about the head, neck and shoulders with a human size version of Jimminey Cricket's cane. That or they should use it to interrogate international fugitives. No better way to make a treacherous spy spill his guts then subjecting him to 12 straight hours of High School Musical. :P

I've got a 20 year old cousin. The last I heard from her, Disney music (aka. High school musical and the likes) were still her favourite music...

I saw "Princess and the frog" not long ago. I came this close to run out screaming when the second "I-wanna-be-the-best-in-the-world" song popped up. And there were loads of those... The overly used syncronized dancing almost made me rip out my hair. I'm surprised I was still sane after coming out of there. The entire film was a Disney musical deluxe 4cry

Most of their 3D movies usually have decent music (Thanks to them being made by Pixar, which is only owned by Disney), but they could really need an upgrade in their music collection for the cartoony style movies - and the live musical style movies.

Rant for today: My leg hurts. I get these really bad stretching pains in my right calf if I accidentally stretch it a little too much. Never elsewhere, only in my right leg. Feels like I've been stabbed, and it hurts so bad I just have to curl up and wait for the worst to go over. Massaging helps a little, though. Happened today, and now my leg will probably hurt for several hours... No idea why it happens, it just started one day when I stretched before getting up from bed :(

Yeah, that's what I meant. Not all Disney music is bad. For example, I absolutely LOVE the Tarzan soundtrack (probably because it was all by Phil Collins ), and I have at least twelve Disney theme park stations on my Live365 presets list (yeah, I like the music they play in the parks, you got a problem with it? :P). All I was saying that Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, etc. have to be from the devil. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Disney fan, and probably will be one for the rest of my life, I just hate the commercialization that it does sometimes.

And raven, the reason Pixar movies have decent music because Randy Newman wrote most of their soundtracks.

Post by: Theraven on April 18, 2010, 09:49:54 am
That explains it ;)

I can't stand the "I-wanna-be-the-best-in-the-world" songs of any kind, especially those where they go and have another syncronized dance. They're just too... annoying. But I like a lot of the other songs and music. I can even *gasp* like a few of the Hanna Montana or similar songs.
My personal relationship to music is that as long as I like the melody and text (usually in that order), I don't care who wrote it, or who sings it (unless the original singer sounds like a goat trying to sing opera, that is...).
Pop, rock, country, punk, alternative, classical, blues, Christian songs... whatever. If it has some special meaning to me, makes me cry, makes me happy, or if I just really really like it, then it goes into my collection. My music collection is quite random that way, with only a very few artists standing out.

I admit I like Dreamworks better than Pixar. It's a difference in  styles, I guess. Pixar has become a bit predictable (Like the rest of the Disney branch, I guess). Dreamworks always comes up with some twists that even surprises me.

I had to do laundry for my husband today so I spent a whole hour at the laundrymat. In a rush I forgot my ipod so that was even more fun. About 10 minutes after staring my load, this girl comes in with her dad. She looks around 12 of age( yet again, kids sprout so fast, for I know she could be 9). She talks in this fake Brittish accent( She was trying really hard to pull one ) and her favorite word was Cheerios. All I heard for the 30 minutes she spent int hat laundrymat was, " Cheerios, Cheerios, Cheerios, Cheerios! Daddy, buy me Cheerios! Oh my Cheerios! This is so Cheerios!" I wanted to choke a b-word...Seriously. I held my self back so hard not to just tell her to shut the eff up. Next time, I'm bringing my iPod with me...UGH!

We only have 302 kids in our entire school!! Ughhhh. I am so thankful mad at her.

If they'd told us that it was out of stock when we first ordered it, that would've been fine and dandy, but two and a half weeks later, especially when I've lost all patience with them?! What makes it worse, is that they're trying to make us blow more money on them by trying to make us order something else! If they took any money out of my dad's bank account, we're demanding a refund and ordering the software off Amazon! At least they deliver faster and at least tell you when you're ordering if it's out of stock! 1explode

Rant: I'm just ticked that my summer didn't turn out the way I planned.
My idea of a perfect summer: Spending time with my best friend, getting my i touch (which I saved up for), Going to Wet'n'Wild every week, and getting a personal guy friend.
My actual past summer: Having to babysit a 70-year old woman for 2 MONTHS that speaks no english, and only seeing my friend 3 times in the past 3 months (WTH, she just lives 5 minutes away)
It's not like I don't like my aunt, but trying to explain to her simple things is very difficult (>.<) and I have to call my mom to translate what im trying to say. And she keeps trying to force feed me, every hour she would tell me go eat, and tell my mom i dont eat enough. I'm 5'5 and weigh 109 pounds. I'm the just about the 3'rd heaviest girl in my class, yet everyone says im skinny (*sigh*)
My best friends grandmother bought us year round passes for Wet'n'Wild, it cost, 50 dollars, each, 150 in total for me, my friend and her boyfriend (They have been together for about 8 months, now.). I feel really bad cause we have only gone one time, (her boyfriend had to go to chicago.) And I feel guilty that she spent that much money on my ticket (T.T). I tried to ask my mom if I could go on July 1st, But she has this paranoia that we' willl get kinapped because its a "holiday weekend", and said no. She also thinks that Aim's (I will mention her as aim's, but her name is Aimee.) Grandmother shou'dn't let her be be dating (Aim's is 13) And that she will never let me have a boyfriend or any male friend( This shot goal #4 down to hell.)
My mom is a control freak and has a hoarding problem, so its difficult living with her.(Its not that bad, but she doesnt want to let things go. The places that its the worst is her closet, the kitchen and the garage.) If I tell her that she should throw away expired milk, she will start to get mad and start ranting that this is her house and she can do what she pleases. And she keeps buying things she already have (She has 6 boxes of cereal in the pantry).
So because of this, the second I move out (in 5 more years) im only going to talk to her once a month. This may seem harsh but you have no idea to be living with her. I can't much more of her nonsense.  :-X
Rave: At least I got my I touch :(

Here's a rant that can be a rave as well.

My body's really sore from band camp, especially my legs. I don't think I'll even be able to move my legs, much less walk, by Saturday. :-\ *sigh* I must be getting old. But I'm positive all this pain will be worth it! Honestly, I'm actually pretty confident with this year's freshmen. Hell, the band got more done in the past three days of this year than the first two weeks of last year. Even some of the sections are getting bored because they're running out of things to cover in sectionals, inside and on the field! This will surely pay off when it's time to go to Area, and hopefully we'll even make it to State this year! ;D

Ok, I really need to get this off my chest.

I don't know why, but it seems that every football player in my school gets super defensive when you say even one constructive comment about the team. They rip into whoever said the comment, and claim that they're the best we've ever had this year. I've got a question for them, if they're as good as they claim to be, why don't they prove it on the field?! I'm nowhere near conviced that we have the best football team we've ever had in the history of the school. That was my freshman and sophomore years when they were good, and actually worth having some pride in.

Well, I've seen their practices, and they're not good at all. The players are just standing around and whining about the heat half the time. And if anyone's going to rip me up for bashing my football team: Look, I get that they have pride in the team, and there's nothing wrong with that. But for the rest of us, it's really hard to have any faith in our football team if they do a really crappy job on the field and look like they're not even trying most of the time. What's worse is that the football players feel they have the right to bash the more successful organizations in the school. If a football player comes up to me and says the reason they did so poorly was because the band wasn't playing enough, all I say is:

"How many times has the football team made it to the play-offs in the past decade and a half? Twice! How many times has the band made straight ones at UIL in the past decade and a half? Seven years in a row! You know why? Cuz we put the effort into it, and we want it! Come talk to me again when you actually put any effort into your football!"

But the thing that's slightly worse than the players are their little-league parents. I call them "little-league" because  they think their football player son is perfect, and has absolutely no flaws. If they feel that the team's not doing good, they go on and blame the band, drill team, and cheerleaders, and their excuse is we're "not motivating the players enough". Listen, it's not the band, drill team, or cheerleader's jobs to motivate the players; That's the coach's job. The band and drill team are just there for entertainment, and the cheerleaders are supposed to motivate the crowd. Maybe start looking at the coach, or even your own kids. Oh, and try to either get their heads in the game or take them out of the team if they're not willing to put forth the effort to make the team better.

Rave: I love college. :D

Rant: All of my drama is either by basically people with attitude problems or people from my hometown, but mostly people from my hometown.  Plus it's cold and the snow is back.  Great... I don't care for winter.  Furthermore, I have one week to memorize Shakespeare.  You know what's more fun than that?  Everything else.

Rant: Oh, I love my dog......but c'mon, instead of clawing at the door or barking to let me let her out like a normal dog, she does this (quite frankly) REALLY creepy stare. Like if I was sleeping downstairs and saw her doing that stare, I'd half-expect her head to do a 360 spin.

Rave: My dog sleeps at the end of my bed and she's figured out not to bother me or I'll knock her off the bed. I get up when I want to get up lol.

Rant: OMG, on Saturday I screamed at a collection agency who insisted that I was someone else! They refused to believe I wasn't the person they were looking for. I had to get my phone company block them, sheesh!
