Title: Favorite Quotes?
Post by: Mooncat on May 28, 2009, 03:45:39 am
OK, it's 4:30 AM here and I'm posting this because I'm bored.  So...what are your favorite quotes? I'll start; I have a bit of a list.

"Want to know how to keep a stupid person waiting? I'll tell you tomorrow..."
"I have PMS and a gun. Excuse me, did you have something to say?"
"Help! I'm on the phone and I can't shut up!"
"When life gives you lemons, cut them open and squirt the juice into people's eyes."
"Homework? Thanks, maybe next time..."
"Attitude, not aptitude, determines altitude."
"In life, the one you love is the one you can never have."
"Never judge a person by their relatives."
"School prepares you for the real world, which also sucks."
"I do what my Rice Krispies tell me to."
"Fingers not ready. Bang head on keyboard to continue."
"It is as bad as you think, and they ARE out to get you!"
"I've run out of sick days, so I'm calling in dead."
"If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried."
"If they don't have chocolate in heaven, I AIN'T GOING!"
"I didn't do it, but if I could, I would have."
"I believe in dragons, good men, and other fantasy creatures."
"Dyslexic devil worshippers sell their souls to Santa."
"The voices! The voices in my head are talking to me again! And this time they're speaking German!"
"Your mother is the state of Indiana...and a camel."

And my favorite quote, that I came up with. I stand up while saying this and my pants fall down, causing me to say:

"Now if only I could...(as pants fall down)...crap! My pants!"

I used to collect things at work that co-workers said and put them on the wall....most of which aren't funny if you aren't there, but.....

"I saw him do it when I wasn't looking" was one of my favorites....

There's a bunch in the movie Good Will Hunting that have been my favourites for years, but I won't put them here because of the swearing. So otherwise:

"I did it all for the Wookiees."
"The Wookiees?"
"The Wookiees!"
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

"What does it do?"
"Anything I want. Get me a juicebox, beyotch!"
- Zathura.

"You were the Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!"
- Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Can't think of anything else at the moment. My brain is dead from running. *Passes out.*

This is the speach of Col. William Barrett Travis at the battle of the Alamo.

"We must die. Our business is not to make a fruitless effort to save our lives, but to choose the manner of our death. To remain in this fort…resist every assault, and to sell our lives as dearly as possible." Col .Travis drew his sword and slowly marked a line in the dirt. "I now want every man who is determined to stay here and die with me to come across this line."

Legend states Co-commander Jim Bowie, lying sick on a cot, asked some of his men to carry him across.

This we we get the term crossing the line, or later a in the sand. People did not start saying sand until the first President Bush used the term in 1990 before the first Gulf War.

OOOHHH i love quotes...

One time, Amanda (one of my friends) and I were creating a family on Sims 2, and I'd just downloaded this sim of a really hot guy from my third favorite band, Linkin Park, and I went to get his sim, and said to Amanda, "Hang on, all I have to do is grab his package..." Well, it took me a few minutes to realize what I'd said.  Amanda burst out laughing... ;D

I have many favorites and all of these are on my Ipod backgrounds:

"I can't brain today. I have the dumb"

"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So, love the people who treat you right, forgive the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it."

"When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile."

"What's this thing you call 'normal'? Is it contagious?! OMG!! Don't touch me! I might catch your 'normal'!"

"If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place"

"Laugh your heart out
Dance in the rain
Cherish the moment
Ignore the pain
Live, Laugh, Love
Forgive & Forget
Life's too short to be
living with regrets"

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars"

"Break the rules
Stand apart
Ignore your head
Follow your heart"

"Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else"

"That which does not kill us, only makes us stronger"

"Love lights more fires than hate extinguishes"

"I want a guy who calls you
beautiful instead of hot
who calls you back
when you hang up on him
who will stay awake
just to watch you sleep.
The boy who kisses your forehead,
Who wants to show you off to the world,
Who thinks you're pretty without makeup on.
The one who is constantly reminding you of how much he cares about you
and how lucky he is to have you."

and the one I tried to put on my siggy but it was too big:
"We're adults. When did that happen and how do we make it stop?"

Wow... there are way too many quotes that I love for me to write them all down here. I even have a "Favorite Quote Book" I started a few years back. Let me see if I can narrow some of my favorites of all time (I can always add more in later):

Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Half of writing history is hiding the truth.

Inara Serra: Mal, what are you doing here?
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: You invited me.
Inara Serra: I never thought for a second you'd be stupid enough to come!
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: Well that makes you a tease.
(Serenity)

Marty McFly: Wait a minute, Doc. Ah... Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean? (Back to the Future)

Annie Proffit: I'm living in a nightmare that begins at the crack of dawn. (Overboard)

Anthony "Swoff" Swofford: Every war is different. Every war is the same. / A story: A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands, love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper; his hands remember the rifle. (Jarhead)

Indiana: Meet me at Omar's. Be ready for me. I'm going after that truck.
Sallah: How?
Indiana: I don't know, I'm making this up as I go!
(Raiders of the Lost Ark)

Han Solo: Wonderful girl. Either I'm going to kill her or I'm beginning to like her. (Star Wars IV: A New Hope) / *after cutting open a Ton-Ton and stuffing Luke in* And I thought they smelled bad... on the outside! / Laugh it up, fuzzball. / It's not my fault! (Star Wars VI: The Empire Strikes Back)

Lol...this will probably end up one of my favorite threads,I constantly quote from movies,tv shows,etc..so excuse me if this is a long list:

"Why are you so sweaty?-I was watchin' cops.."
"How 'bout that ride in huh?..guess that's why they call it sin city."
"Hi..I'm your neighbor over in 300."
"Nick's usually the guy that sits over there and just plays with tubes.."
"Aaah..I think I just hurt my neck on that one."
"Some of you aren't laughing..we all miss your cousin."
"A leopard can carry 2X it's weight into a tree....I don't have a joke for that yet."
"But it is accurate..and just in case you hate my stand up at least you can leave goin':"You know what,I learned something."
"Robert better not get in my face...I'll drop that mother [sucker]!"
"It's starting to even look like a TRIPLE rainbow!"
"I don't know why I looked at you when I said that..I thought you would appreciate it."
Lol..that's it,I'm sorry if that was too much..but believe me,that's not even half of my favorite quotes..ha
