OK here are the results some preliminary testing:
HCDU showed no conflicts with any mods I already have installed.

1) Sent former cow mascot (Spencer) to community lot from home while wearing normal clothes: He arrived still in his normal clothes. Sent him back home and he arrived home in normal clothes, too.

2) From another house I used Insim to summon Spencer. Before he would always show up in the cow costume. Now he showed up in normal outfit.

3) From a community lot I used Insim to summon Spencer (he is the only former mascot I currently have). He again arrived in normal clothes.

It seems to be working fine. When I get back later tonight I'll so some more testing without using insim. I just tried that because I'm in a hurry and wanted to try it out and didn't want to wait for him to be a walkby.

This is just great!

I'm finally back home so I'll let you know how it goes. There's still some other tests I want to run, so I guess some of my sims in college get to progress for a change. :)

Any chance you can also change the former mascot YA's that are now playable characters?  My sim fell in love with one of them darn mascots so he had to move in to the dorm with her but, of course, he's still running around with his stupid costume.
Thanks for considering.

Well I got confused here too! I read something about hiding the costumes and now no Adult mascot. I would like to know if the mod forces the mascot to take out the stupid masks. Not that it will be anything better 'cause at least in my game all mascots are generated from the most ugly of the start models (normally the one that looks like be chewing a mouth harmonica and the other that looks like a half stekt pannkake)

This mod makes the adults dress in normal clothes if they used to be a mascot:)

If i made a mod to do that then all mascots would dress in every day clothes & wouldn't look like mascots:)

Sorry Squinge but this was exactly what I was looking for. I would like to have those masks as custom contents (got from Morague already) and would like that the YA mascots didn't look like mascots. Reason: they are butt ugly without the mask and it is not possible to butcher ...err surgery their faces cause they show up like masks on the surgery machine screen.
They take the masks to enter the hot tub or swimming-pool and this is enough to bring the wish to kill them.

I've been looking for this fix for ages!

Do you think you might make a version that includes an elders fix?  The 2 previous cheerleaders I have are both elders and they're still walking around in those hideous llama costumes - argh!

Have you planned their every day outfits to something different?  you may have to do that before this mod will make them change out of those clothes :)

My Sim wanted to marry a Llama mascot, but after marriage he could not be moved in even though the marriage was accepted and succesful. I moved him in using the teleporter shrub, but the mascot remained a young adult. I had to fix him using the agesimscheat.

I did a test, and this mod seems to be the cause: marrying a mascot without this mod in place works normally: the mascot is converted to an adult with a college graduation.

Could you look into this?

OK. I know that if you have an adult sim propose move in or marriage with a townie uni student (not a controllable character), that YA ages to adult and moves into the house. I have never been able to make that work with a non-controllable mascot. Even way back when I only had the base game and uni and no mods of any kind. I'm confused. Should that have worked?

Mascots/cheerleaders are just like other service NPCs, you can fully interact with them. This means that you can propose them, move them in, marry them, knock them up etc.. Worked for me in any case.

In an unmodded game they're a tad annoying in that they will still have some of their old behaviour though, and will always dress in their mascot/cheerleader outfit on comm lots. This mod fixes that. But in the process it seems to have somehow broken mascots in other ways.

All service NPCs keep some of their old behaviour by the way: if you marry a burglar they'll always be able to sneak, and burglars, cops, firemen and possibly others will always have no traversal costs.

Only the bus/taxi drivers and the nonplayables such as SS workers and repo men can't and shouldn't be interacted with at all.

Not exactly. Besides retaining silly uniforms on community lots after college, mascots personality and behaviours are retained and uneditable. I know, I've tried (very hard). Change a mascot's personality (at least an evil mascot's) using either the insim or simpe and it reverts back to the maxis defined personality the next time the lot is loaded. I've never had that happen with any other NPCs.

knock them up
Knocking up female NPCs corrupts their character file. At least so I've read. Unless you've made them selectable and keep them on the lot for the duration of the pregnancy.

Beat me with a stupid stick if you like, but I don't know what that means.

It's funny, when I first got uni one of the first things I tried was to have a college graduate, once she moved into a house in the main neighborhood, propose to her college boyfriend who was a llama mascot. And she couldn't do it. Couldn't propose marriage, couldn't propose that he move in either. I had to go back to the college, move him into a dorm, and play out his entire college life. Other sims had no problem with fiancees that were townies. Had I had that first sim propose the move in to her mascot lover while she was still at college, there would have been no problems.

Such as days left in age, I know. There's ways around that though.

In fact you can't get an uncontrollable Sim pregnant. If somehow you do, it won't corrupt their character file (unless you are messing with uninteractables such as the hula zombie), but the pregnancy will go wrong. I was referring to former NPCs.

No traversal costs means their needs do not go down from walking as it does for all other Sims. This is most noticable on the huge lots: send a normal Sim and a former NPC from corner of the lot to the other, if all other things (personality, asp, starting needs) are equal the normal Sim will have significantly more needs decay than the former NPC.

I did the proposing unto engagement in college. It gives a nice bonus for graduation party scores.

Hi Squinge! I did a strange experiment and worked somehow (didn't understand much but must be related to your mod). Well, I used my selective hydrangea () and selected a horse named Robi Somewhat, a mascot that is butt ugly. Tried to surgery his face and I got only the horse face.
Well, I used Insimenator and clicked "Age to ... YA" (though he IS an YA). Well, his thumbnail changed to a nude Sim and he is showing regular clothing. SO I COULD surgery his face because the horse face was GONE. Hurray!

Another problem : before (on time) I could invite an YA to a normal hood, control-mind her and make her pregnant, get the baby and leave it there.
Now (after FFS) I can no more do this. The YA shows as No aging Sim and pregnance is no more available to them. I cannot even make a regular Sim living in Uni to get pregnant. They DO get pregnant but the pregnance do not develop. Using Insimenator to check pregnance stand, it states nothing but just that the pregnance froze at 25 days pregnant.
Is that included with FFS or do I have a mod that makes it so?

yes I can :),that is strange I don't know how the "npc put an outfit on me" function would cause that now I'm curious to find out.

mascots personality and behaviours are retained and uneditable.
The reason for that is you would have to remove all of the template mascot code from the character file & replace it with template person to make them act like normal sims.

I think what it boils down to is that the mascot code is bugged. Stupid Maxis.

*edit*
Squinge, I thought you should know that I have never had the problems XPTL described regarding the pregnancies. All my uni pregnancies have worked fine. I don't think that's related to this mod.

I'm in the middle of trying an experiment with a clean game (no CC at all) to see if I can make an adult move in a uni mascot. It has never worked for me in the past, but I may as well try again. Then I'll try with only this mod installed to see if there is an effect. I'll let you know how it comes out. Unfortunately I can't finish until lunch, I'm at work.:sad5:

*edit #2*
Clean game - Could not propose move in to uni mascot
Game with noadultmascots installed - Still could not propose move in to uni mascot
It doesn't look to me like this mod makes any difference at all. Except that adult former mascots don't wear costumes to community lots.

I wish I had this mod sooner!  My college girl married and had twins with the school horse.  When she graduated and he moved in with her he kept the stupid hat no matter how much money I sunk into a new wardrobe.  I couldn't take it and eventually arranged for him to meet with a satellite.  And now you tell me I didn't have to kill him? Aaargg!!!!
