Title: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: JacobM on July 10, 2009, 07:56:03 pm on my 'castaway' lot, i'm receiving an object error when i'm in debug mode. it says 'too many iterations'.
when i'm not in debug mode, the sim just resets. this happens every time i click on another sim. what could this be ?? i'm attaching one of the errors i've recieved. i only get one error per sim. i get more than one if i try clicking on the sim multiple times. i hope that makes sense? Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: ancienthighway on July 10, 2009, 09:46:56 pm I'm guessing you have ACR in the game. I doubt ACR is compatible with Castaways, try removing it.
Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: rwills on July 10, 2009, 10:02:13 pm My (admittedly very limited) understanding is that most Sims2 non-hacked objects and such custom content will generally work fine in Castaway Stories, but that virtually no Sims2 mods will be compatible.
There are Castaways-specific mods though, such as here (free reg. req,): http://www.sims2workshop.com/viewforum.php?f=161 . Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: JacobM on July 10, 2009, 10:09:36 pm sorry, i think you misunderstood. i'm not playing in castaway stories. i'm playing in regular sims 2. i mean i'm playing in the 'castaway type' lot i set up.
Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: rwills on July 10, 2009, 10:15:38 pm In that case do you have the HCDU? If so, run it.
If not, install it and run it to get a list of most (but not necessarily all) poetntial hack conflicts. Note that the list generated does not differentiate between harmless and harmful conflicts, but it is a good starting point for tracking down the malefactor. Paladin's Hack Conflict Detection Utility here (click Sims 2 --Programs to find it there): http://www.simwardrobe.com Just in case, should mention that, at least in my game, attempting to use some extracted-for-Sims2 Castaway Stories stuff caused serious problems, so those had to be taken out of the game. Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: JacobM on July 10, 2009, 10:27:26 pm i ran it a few times, actually. here's the results:

Post by: rwills on July 10, 2009, 10:36:18 pm Wow. That's a lot.
First, the rules of this board specifically outline no support for Inteen to be had here (see the sticky at the top of this board). Second, have never had or used Inteen, but guessing you may have a version (or a flavor pack) incompatible with or not updated for your particular installed EP/SPs, or multiple and mutually incompatible flavor packs. Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: JacobM on July 10, 2009, 10:42:49 pm no, you see. inteen's flavor packs HAVE to conflict with inteenimator B in order to work. inteen is not the problem. i do wish it were that simple, though.
Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: ancienthighway on July 10, 2009, 11:02:09 pm What's happening is ACR is looking for a woohoo site. It finds the single leaf pile bed and says "There's one". Only it's not. It's just a single. So after it find the spot for the first sim, it keeps looking to find a spot for the second sim and goes into a loop.
As I said before, ACR is not compatible with CS, and it's that ACR-CS object interaction that's breaking. You'll have to force ACR to use a sofa until you get a suitable bed on the lot. As far as the HCDU report, it all looks fine. The only mod I question as far as usefulness is the pregnancy test. You've got that in effect with the ACR. Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: JacobM on July 10, 2009, 11:10:36 pm so should i delete acr then? or should i delete the leaf pile bed? it's not cs that i'm playing. it's a cs object i downloaded into my regular sims 2 game.
Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: ancienthighway on July 10, 2009, 11:32:32 pm If it were me, I'd leave them both in the game and on your "castaway" lot, force ACR to use a sofa for woohoo.
Another option is to pick up a double bed recolored to be a bed of leaves. I had one way back when, but don't remember if it was MTS or Buntah's site that had it. Of course it could be something completely different. There's a similar bed...actually whole lot, on TSR, but it's a homeless in the park theme. Maybe not what you need. Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: rwills on July 11, 2009, 12:03:16 am Maybe toss the Castaways leaf bed and try a thatch-like double bed (the one without the pitchfork) here:

it's not only the leaf bed. it happens on other lots, too. my sims are resetting like crazy, and i'm trying to figure out why. Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: rwills on July 11, 2009, 12:48:27 am That's normally a sign of conflicting/incompatible custom content. Certainly reminiscent of what ocurred in my own case when trying to use extracted Castaways items.*
Doesn't matter if the item is in use or is on any lot -- simply the file's presence in Downloads is enough. Try taking the extracted Castaways items out of you Downloads folder altogether. If the problem then goes away, add any extracted Castaways items back in one at a time to see which one(s) might be the culprit. *May be misremembering, but seem to hazily recall that having Bon Voyage installed is recommended if trying to use at least some extracted Castaways items. Title: Re: can you help me with this please? i'm getting an object error? Post by: ancienthighway on July 11, 2009, 12:49:21 am In that case you might want to check to see if you have the correct version. TJ's constantly updating ACR as things come up. You may want to post some of those error logs at Simbology too.
