Title: Twinks!
Post by: Violet_Placebo on May 02, 2006, 02:50:23 am
I would love me some waif twink boys so I can pair them up with your sexy Bodybuilders. I am really having QAF  withdraws....*sigh*(I need Justin & Brian to live happily ever after in sim bliss).
Sims connection or Rabid Angel (??) made a kewl mesh that makes the boys skinny and cute. But it was a pay item and I think you guys could do way better.
I can't find it on their site though ahhhh!
Please consider it, I'll love ya's 4EVA and make ya some simmies or something
btw- Can't wait till the buff butch chicks come out.

Violet,

This sounds like a nice deal... :D
But before I agree to anything I'd need to know what you mean exactly, the only male mesh by RabidAngel I can think of is a slighltly (and very nicely) buffed-up version of the regular male. Maybe some pics of what you have in mind?

I know someone that has the mesh, I can't find pics on the net, so i'll get her to tak esome bodyshop screen shots and post them really soon.
It kinda makes them look nearly as short as teens and really waif. Thanx for considering it.

I think a member of ModTheSims2 named Xenos made one :

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, though.

I absolutely second this request.

Something a lot like that nerdy sim, but maybe a bit more defined? So less twiggy legs and more... lean and trim? Slinkier hips and waist, maybe? Bit more rib... er... protrusion? That sounds wrong, but hopefully you get what I mean. Would love the bubblebutt so very much. I'm sure pictures of that can be supplied if you need the added incentive (QAF -did- like showing that part of Justin's anatomy often ^_~).

Here's some pics I got of the mesh I was talking about in Bodyshop.
My friend thinks it was made by Peggy sims because it says- Juice@Male Suit0005BeachGuy

LOL this is perfectly clear now - ok, as soon as I find a moment I'll experiment on this.

Hey guys,
I'm in the process of making some "lean and muscular" meshes.  I really just want them for my game, so I'll make them freely available. RIght now I've got a shirt and pants mesh, but I intend on doing full outfits too.
BUT, if you think someone else can "do it way better" (as your thread states), be my guest! Heehee
 ;)
EDIT: Here is a pic of the mesh in progress along side the original Maxis mesh. I have used fanseelamb's wonderful shirts and pants recolour adaptations to upload this preview.

i have been thinking about this thread since it was first posted and I am still unclear as to what is meant here by a "twink" - because even as a seasoned practitioner in the fine art of debauching and deflowering the more chicken-flavoured bits of the community, I always thought a twink was a statement of a general look more than a body form... usually blonde and hairless as I recall.

Heehee, beosboxboy, I took the "twink" comment more as a "waif" style, but yes, I believe your definition of twink is correct.

Rabidangel, I won't compete on that bodyshape - I wouldn't see the point . :D  Very cool mesh!

Hey Marvine!
No, you go ahead! I'm just making this for my game cause I wanted a little more variation.  I'd be happy to work with you on  it though, if my time constraints let up a little in real life.
I don't see the point in competing either.  But i DO see the point in working together on it. :)
Take care.
-RabidAngel
PS, I hope my initial message didn't sound competitive. It wasn't meant to be that way, and it never has been for me.
I'm all about spreading the love....Always.
Sorry if it came off the wrong way!

Rabidangel, I'd LOVE that - if you and I both find the time, that is, but it would be great if we managed it :)
Feel free to PM me anytime!

Awesome!
I'll be in touch, but you feel free to PM me as well!
Question, do you know how to make a whole body mesh out of those two separates?  I've never done it, but it'd be cool if it were possible. I know the difficult part will be the bone assignments.  I am not up to date though and am wondering if there is now a more automatic way, rather than having to do this all manually.
I've tried adding both separate gmdcs into a full body mesh, since obj files don't seem to have the bone data. I wanted to try this so that all of the mapping and categories would stay consistent. Eventually I planned on tossing the original body once the two separate parts were in there, but wes_h's plugins always give an error (after the warning that adding another gmdc could make the mesh unstable, heehee...I had to try..LOL)
Does that make sense to you?  I'm still trying to make sense of it myself. :/
Another thing that separate parts method would be good for is using the top on all of the other bottoms meshes, so that they're always consitent.  What I've done with all of my athletic meshes was a very long process since each time I made a new mesh, I did the top all over again trying to get everything as close to the original as possible.
It always looks to me like your amazing meshes are made from the same "base mesh", so I'm hoping you might be able to enlighten me about how to do so.
Otherwise, I can just send over the files and you can work your magic and make any changes that you'd like.
Anyway, I'm excited to do this project with you! I think it'll be lots of fun!
Take care.
-Wesla (aka RabidAngel ;))

Well this was a real pain until recently... I used to extract (or make) the bottom as an obj file, import it in the top gmdc - and then manually reassign the bottom (the reason I chose the bottom as often as possible is that the assignments are much more complex on the top).
Now, with the latest version of the Unimesh plugins it's just a matter of copy/paste; you still get a warning when importing a second gmdc, but then you're asked if you want to keep the additional bones - if you don't, the new part will be automatically assigned to the existing skeleton, and you can regroup, change the name to "body" and edit the group comments. Then you can use Demon's extended edit tools and the Unimesh bone tool to fine-tune anything: assignements, seams, normals, uv-coordinates...
At this point, I'd say that everything is allowed, you can seamlessly combine as many parts of different meshes as you want - except that I noticed some unstability with an intensive use of Demon's tools when performing heavy surgery on a multi-group and multi-morph mesh, which seems caused by a memory issue in Milkshape; and these are powerful but dangerous tools if you're not extremely careful. :)

PMing you to plot things. :D
