Seems pretty self explanatory.  Come up with "You know you play the Sims too much when..." jokes!

Mine: You know you play the Sims too much when you imagine little green or red people symbols with the + or - symbols when talking to your friends.

We already had this topic in the General Sims 2 discussion thread. It was locked up because no one was posting, but I'll be moving this over there, since this is more a discussion than a game.  ;)

So does this mean we can post our "you know when you play sims too much" things here?  :confused:

When you wake up from a dream and you feel dizzy, and then suddenly you want to learn how to make pancakes, cereal, and to have a baby.

You know when you've played too much sims when you wake up and think that you have 200,000 dollars and a vampire for a boyfriend.

(^ or that might be when you you know you like Twilight a bit much)

When you see your husband in the dark you think he's a werewolf...

Or when you see a pacifier floating above the heads of your friends as they become parents.

When you're with a bunch of friends and, when it's time to go, you stand up, wave and say, "Deg deg".

When you see an overweight man with a large stomach and the first thought in your head was 'aw, he's pregnant'

When you look at interactions between people and vizualize plus and minus points above their heads.

When you see a person and you start planning a makeover in your head, including CC you know you have then you remember that real life is real.

When you see someone looking around aimlessly and your first thought is that they have no task icons left.

If you're pregnant and the thought crosses your mind that the cheescake you're craving could make you have twins.

If you're pregnant, and you know that you'll not have a girl because you don't like watermelons...

If you're pregnant, and you avoid kids channels all through the pregnancy...

If the cranky old woman in the neighbor house is nicknamed "Mrs Crumplebottom"

You wish you could use "maxmotives" whenever you're tired or hungry

If a Twilight fan mention "Bella", your first thought is "she was abducted by aliens"

When you have the irrpressible urge to wave your hands and whine gibbrish when something blocks your path

When you see a house and think "I can make that in the sims!"

When you see an ugly person and wonder why Maxis' original content is so ugly, then realize it's a real person

When you wish you could just use the motherlode cheat when you're low on money

 You know you play the Sims too much when.... you turn on your washing machine and you think it's your wants rerolling.
 You know you play the Sims too much when....banging on the broken shower faucet with a hammer doesn't fix it.
 You know you play the Sims too much when....you accidentally call your plumber an NPC.  ;D 

When you can't walk past a teddy bear.

When you can't walk AROUND a teddy bear.

When you can't move said teddy bear out of your path.

When you can't kiss someone without deciding whether it is a "smooch" "tender" or "make out".

When you speak gibberish to your family, and expect them to respond.

When you go swimming you can't climb out the edge of the pool, and drown if the ladder is inaccessible.

When you're waiting for web pages to load and you're looking around for the 3x speed button -_-

When your kid says Hi mom when you walk into the room and you clap, give the double draw and answer "Hooba Noobie!"

When you realize, omg I do pee as often as the sims.

When you make your whole town fat just because your having a 'fat' day.

When your husband comes home from work and tries making an account at your sims2 sites just to defend you against bashers.  LOL

(Really, today I was cooking and I;d stand for a moment, then wave the smell and sniff.. and even tasting from time to time XDDD I was thinking "LOL this is like the Sims when they cook... !" The whole time!)

(several times here...  I've looked at my watch because I'm starting to get tired, realized it's somewhere between 5am and 11am, and figured out that now it's about time to get to bed...  :-\)

When your way of "relaxing" after schoolwork (which for me has been meshing and animating for the past 2 years) is to make new meshes for sims...

When you start wondering if there is something wrong with you because you always end up eating cheese sandwiches for breakfast... After eating it for breakfast nearly every day for the past 3 years...

When you refuse to admit that installing everything up to FT plus 9GB of downloads on a laptop with 512mb memory might be a bad idea...

When the loading time for your sims game on said laptop is 1-2 hours, and you consider it "normal"...

When you get a new computer, install all games plus 15-20GB of downloads, and still thinks 20-30 min loading time is acceptable, as long as you get to play.

Can anyone say "addicted"?  :p

When you read someone has 20gb of downloads and think haha I only have 13gbs.  Only to turn around and think, what do they have that I don't, omg I'm missing something! ;D

I only have 6 gigs of downloads for the Sims 2 and over 500 files for the Sims 3 already since getting it a month ago XD

...When you meet someone unusually beautiful, and try not to stare at their face, while working out if it would be sim-able!

...When you put your sims' wants before your own: e.g. TO DO: Make the toddler twins a roof raisin' birthday party, send Jake to college, get Alice a promotion, have breakfast (Note to self: real life event), Search every Sims site on the planet for a download that probably doesn't exist, and somewhere during the day, have lunch, do a bit of revision for impending exams (Once again, I must mention, the last 2 are real life events  :p )

..When you go out in town with your family, just for the fact that your game is loading and you have nothing else to do.

...When you see someone in town and you try to memorise their face so you can make it on sims when you get home

..When your family thinks the reason the downloads are so low are because you keep watching Doctor Who and Torchwood on the net, when really you are downloading CC so you can make the Doctor and Jack Harkness on sims to pair them together

Oh, definitely! I made a Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Rose, 10th Doctor household. It was a lot of fun to play, but I had to make good use of the no jealousy hack!  ;D Nice to meet another TW/DW/Sims 2 fan, btw!

...When you try and fit all your days' chores into the time your game is loading. Or when you minimize the game overnight and hibernate your PC so you don't have to load it again, even if it means a laggy game!

Yeah. I'm trying to find a better Jack outfit though.. and a 10th Doctor outfit. No jealously? Where'd ya get it from?

...When you know your computer is gonna be really slow but you just can't resist that last download.. or so you tell yourself that its the last

You have a dream that you're playing the sims.

When you wake up in the morning and start planning who in the large family of 8 should go to the bathrooms first, and which adult/teen should make breakfast for the kids before school. And you live alone and have no kids.

When you get a job and wonder how many friends you have to make before you can get promoted.

When you're off to work/school in the morning and you keep waiting for the carpool and/or schoolbus to show up automatically, even if school/workplace is right down the road.

when your husband is home on the weekend and you pout because it's too embaressing to play your sims with him home.  COME ON MONDAY HURRY! 

when you do play your sims in front of him your overjoyed when he asks . "I don't remember a basketball hoop in the game, does it work?"  and you can't wait to tell him about all the cool stuff you got from the other expansions.

When you pout while at your mom's house because you have no sims there...  :'(

When the sims meal menus make you hungry for what they're having.  (Especially the buffet tables,  :D )

When you cross the milestone of having 50GB of CC. Yes...50GBs. Good thing I have a Terabyte of storage (That's 1024 GB for the tech-illiterate). Still, 50GB of data that's simply TS2 CC is nuts. Granted, this is all accumulative from 2007 when I 1st learned about CC. And what's sad? I'm still looking for more.

ROFLOL! Omg and I was thinking the three or four gigs of CC I had was too much.  I have a terabyte of memory as well (my voice program as well as music, movies & photo dlds need that kind of room) but I still winch at the size of my CC.

You win though 1titter sounds like a confession for a sims anonymous meeting.  Heavens will that be me in a couple years? 1nails 1tehe

Whoa, dude! My DLs folder is only 47.3 MB...and my SavedSims is 733 MB of just Sims I made myself.

Wehen you're only organizing your downloads folder so you can feel accomplished ... And download more things.

lulz my downloads folder is beyond organizable. I remember when I first found out about CC I went NUTS! Had like 200 dowloads by the first 3 days :P

I currently have nearly 6,000 items. All of which I am now seperating into folders. Slowly. Very .... Very ... Slowly. I go on downloading binges after abstaining for a few days ....

At last count, my CC folder was nearly 10gb in size. I have no hopes of ever getting that mess sorted. Hah!

Now that you all mentioned it:

When the first item on your "one day I'll get around to this" to do list goes from cleaning out your garage/attic (and other rl chores) to sorting out your downloads folder (so you can add more cc of course, 1titter) .

I've actually used that as an excuse to put off cleaning my garage. Of course, I never got around to sorting my CC folder either. Hah.

I've got mine so sorted out that my husband complains and says he wishes the house were that organized...

I don't bother with cleaning out or sorting my downloads folder. But I'm fussy about what goes in so :P

And yeah.. you know you play sims too much when your teachers ask you about it because you mentioned it in your work

When your talking about cool looking old cars and you start talking about the badash charger in your sims game family just bought for their anniversary.

When you're looking around your house and want to rearrange furniture, you really believe for a second you can do it with just the click of a button.

When you find a piece of perfect cc furniture for your sim and like it so much you try to find a similar one for your rl house.

 all these are true:
when you play it all night instead of sleeping
when you forget to eat because you're too busy with your people
when you have so much CC that when you need to transfer it to your friends, you need 2 CDs and a flash (this is true for Sims 2)
when you were going to watch a show with your mom but in the middle you kept going back to the computer (this only happened once though)
when you spend several days catching up on the CC available online sometimes without much of a break. you may feel very bored during searching through all that but you can't stop because you feel you have to have it

When your sad your home alone, but pumped because now nobody can stop you from playing all day.

When you get mad because none of the careers fit your sim's personality. (in my opinion asian princesses need something a little more unique than fish chummer or cement mixer lol)

When you love your sim but the hair just won't work with the outfit (bleeds into high collars,turtlenecks)it's quite the conundrum.

I sorted my DL folder out back in 07. Took me a week to get it organized. Now everything is sorted by month, with all files from before 07 in 1 massive folder. Makes it a lot easier when I DL a bad mesh as well, because It's in the most recent folder, so all I have to do is remove that folder, find the culprit and get rid of it.
