Well, let's take a look at the minimum requirements for the Sims 3 base game.

2 GHz processor with XP, 2.4 GHz with Vista.
1 gb RAM with XP, 1.5 GM RAM with Vista
6.1 gb of hard drive space with at least 1 gb of additional space for custom content and saved games
A 128 mb video card with support for pixel shader 2.0

This laptop's processor doesn't meet minimum requirements and only 1 gb of RAM is definitely not enough. Windows XP uses a minimum of 512 mb to run while Vista uses a minimum of 1 GB; therefore, you won't have 1 gb of RAM to spare for the game to run. That spells lots of crashing to the desktop.

Your video would work, but not smoothly.

No optical drive included? You might have a hard time playing the game without a cd/dvd drive.

In short? This laptop won't work for Sims 3.
