Title: Showerproof accessory?
Post by: Dullahan on August 18, 2011, 02:29:18 pm
I hope this is the right section for this.

I am wanting to make an accessory so it can be worn at all times, even while showering. How would I do this?
I have already made it so it is worn with all outfits, aside from nude.

If I am assuming the accessory you are referring to is more or less the adult male appendage then you can find it on the insimadult page.  ;)
3yayUnless of course it is the soap on a rope, that I haven't seen yet, but would make a lovely addition to my summer camp counselor in the shower scene. lol

Good luck hope this helps

No, it is actually a mask. ^_^

Well is my face red...no not really but it's great for dramatics.

Do you already have the mask you are in need of or are you just searching for the concept? I believe under simpe you could in fact select the mask to be visible under the different events such as everyday. Another possibility if you possessed it already and it is a true mask would be to go under your bodyshop rename it as a new object and select the different applications you want it available for then import it back into game.  I am assuming a great deal here since the info you supplied was very limited to be able to help you with your needs.

You change the "cathegory" line in the "XML Mesh Overlay" (recolor file!) to a value of 0x0000127F. Should make them showerproof and workable with all clothing categories (at least that's the value my own accessory meshes have, and they don't go off in wash).

If a category doesn't show up, try 0x0000137F instead. Not entirely sure if it adds maternity or something else, or if this is just a hair thing.

Thanks, Raven. ^_^
I am getting to test it in game to see if it works now.

And, yes, sahmormakmom, I already had a mask. And it's fine, I probably would have thought that too, I should have specified what my accessory was.  :D

-Edit-
I tried it with 127F and it did not work. So I will try it with 137F and try again.

I also tried 137F and neither codes work. The mask seems to show up in every category aside from nude...

Strange... Works for mine. Sure you put the value in the right spot?

I did clone mine from another accessory that shows up in all cathegories (it's already fixed for the flashing blue, and so on). It's the shrek ears from MTS, if you wonder. The animal part accessories can also be used.
The toddler age might make the accessory go a bit borky if you remove it, though...

I am pretty sure that is right. I put it in the category area like you said.

So should I take an accessory like that, and modify it?

Did you do it for all the XML resource files in the recolor pack, or just one?

It has three, and I did it for all three.

If you have put the accessory on a sim, you might have to let them go to a mirror, choose fix appearance, and click OK. Also try to delete the cache files. Not sure if it will be a help, but it's worth a try.

Can't say for sure why it isn't working.

If all else fails (like it did for me while I was trying to make all-age accessories), then yes to trying an already fixed file. Cloning certain maxis accessories directily can have strange consequences. Out of curiosity, which accessory did you clone?

Okay, I will try that.

Those frameless wire glasses that come in black and tortoise shell. They are only available in a few categories, normally.

assuming this is for sims2 ?

use the Wardrobe Wrangler and put a check mark under naked and all other categories you wish (et voila)  :p
it by far the easiest way,

That works with accessories?

iT SURE DOES  :D

edit:Actually "Wardrobe Wrangler" by DJS Sims is awesome for categorizing your accessories ,It makes it so easy to assign an acc. to a particular body slot...
(eg.nose, head, ears, ("forehead" ya go figure ) ,etc.ect. this way you know that for exemple (a hat) wont overwrite the left ring body slot ...

assigning a hat or nose ring to the toes slot as no negative consequences whatsoever ,but its good practices to keep all hats in the same slot (top of the head) ,,,this way when you change your hat for another one ,,,the first one is remove automatically because 2 different accessory cannot share the same slot at the same time .
this is true for all available slots.
ps:You can also create custom slot indefinitely ,I often have Sims with 20+ jewelery and accessories at the same time ,LOL
