Title: Turning outfit into accessory.
Post by: jemima on May 26, 2012, 06:39:13 am
Could someone please turn this trenchcoat by BlooM http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,83582.0.html into accessory for teens and adults (only females)?
Like generalzoi did it with maxis trenchcoat here http://linna.modthesims.info/d/161197 ?

I have permission from BlooM "Anyway, you can ask someone else, my stuff is free to use."

And please, don't respond me in style like "Oh, here is similar (but totally not-the-same-looking) coat, maybe you will like it".
No. I really need this coat by BlooM. Because it's perfect, feminine, beautiful. The most cool trenchcoat I have ever seen.
But if you find exactly the same trenchcoat, or even this one by BlooM, as accessory for teens and adults, then please give me a link to it. I would be very grateful :-). Otherwise I will still wait for someone who can fulfill my request.

Thanks in advance  ;D

PS I'm leaving in five days to visit my grandpa, auntie, uncle and cousin.
They don't have internet and then I will not be able to respond (I'm gonna stay there for about a week).

I should be able to do this.
I'll let you know what I end up with. :]

Please note, it will only be able to be worn with flatter outfits, such as the one the original has.
Big, bulky outfits won't work.

Thanks  :D 4hug

It's ok. I don't use big and bulky outfist xD. So it's totally fine for me ;D.

PS Dullahan, I'm leaving in two days to my grandpa.
He doesn't have internet and I will not be able to respond (I'm gonna stay there for about a week).

So if you didn't make this coat and you don't planning to make it today or tomorrow, then don't answer me now. Because I'm leaving.
Don't respond me in this week, because I will not be able to answer you. See you next week :-).

I'm going to respond anyhow. ^^

I have the meshes done, and now I am actually turning them into accessories, so it shouldn't be long.
I'll need to mess with Generalzoi's mesh, because I am having trouble deciding what joint to attach it to.  :p
But no worries, I should have it done before the weekend, most definitely!

If it's a jacket, assigning it to one joint in particular will not look good. If the outfit already had proper bone assignments as an outfit, you can use those. That's probably the safest and easiest.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.
It will save me a headache. x]

Nonetheless, I will figure out the joints, and get it done.

Import/export as GMDC, then the joints will already be assigned, and you'll only have to do changes to the mesh itself (if you're converting between ages). OBJ takes ages to assign (trust me on that...)

Yes, thank you!  3thumb
That is a whole lot easier than my method. xD
So it should take less time now.

Just remember to answer "yes" to the first question and "no" to the second question if you import a GMDC over another model with a skeleton, or you'll get in trouble...

Wow, so many replies xD.
Ok then, I'm glad that everything seems to be fine and these things about joints are more easier to you now :-).

Once again thanks  :D  4hug

It is going to take me a tad bit longer than expected, because of family issues.
Sorry for that, I'll get it done as soon as I can.

Alright, so change of plans.
I should have it done pretty quickly.
The meshes are working, but I need to make a few tweaks and add texture.

Is it alright if I just go with the basic color set for now?

Adult version is done, big thanks to Bloom.

This is much more tricky than I imagined.   :p
