Title: World of Warcraft Paladin Judgment Armor
Post by: saathei on February 17, 2014, 11:00:27 pm
So, this is the first time I've posted a file, so be nice...

This is the Judgement Armor (http://wowhead.com/transmog-set=576) from World of Warcraft. This armor, introduced in summer 2005, is exclusive to the paladin class and nearly nine years later remains one of the most popular armor sets in the game. Now your Sims can wear it too! This outfit is for adult males and females. The female model comes with fat and pregnant morphs. The male one is just standard (sorry). The hood should work for your YA and Elders as well.

IN THE WORKS is a male version with hooves for your Tauren or Draenei Sims. (Since you can't see the feet on the female version, I'm not going to bother.)

Here's a picture of the female version while pregnant:

Credits and Technical Info
Male mesh was created by combining the SBB mesh by Marvine (downloaded from The Dark Project (http://www.modthesims.info/showpost.php?p=1662370&postcount=8) as the knight) and the wizard robe from the Dark Project (http://www.modthesims.info/showpost.php?p=1662365&postcount=4). Female mesh was created from the AF Long Dress mesh found in the Adult Female Default Meshes w/Pregnant Morphs (v1.1) (http://www.insimenator.org/index.php/topic,77278.0.html) by themysticalone. My meshes, however, are new meshes that include the shoulder armor. When using the hood, make sure you pick hair for individual outfits, and then choose a bald or close-cropped hairstyle for Everyday, Formal, and Outerwear.

Shoulders for both meshes and hood were extracted from WoWModelViewer and imported into the Sims as is. The shoulders are attached to the clavicle bone, so they should move will with most animations, but you'll see some clipping when your Sim raises his/her hands up in the air. I felt the restricted movement was overall more realistic than what you see in WoW (where the shoulder armor will turn upside down and stick out of your character's armpit when their hands are in the air).

Textures were also extracted from WoWModelViewer and were hand-tortured onto the models by me. I apologize if anything looks a bit off. I also apologize if they look pixelated or messy at all - I tried to clean them the best I could, but the truth of the matter is that Blizz uses teeny textures (ie, 64x128 pixels) to cover massive sections of the body, so stretching them out to Sims-size is going to mess with them. :(

I do not represent Blizzard or have explicit permission to use their meshes and textures, but I'm banking on the idea that this is fan art being used in a game that's even older than theirs so they won't come after me. :p That said, obviously you should not upload to pay sites, because that would definitely be in violation of copyright.

Thank you very much for sharing your creation with us and for giving proper credit.

Just one note to keep in mind: as per our uploading rules, you can only upload one image to our server. If you have more than one image, we would love to see them, but they must be posted in the body of your post via third party image hosting site (Photbucket, etc).

Thanks again! :)

Cool!  Thank you!

EDIT:  I looked at it in body shop and neither the hood nor the outfit is alpha editable, which is a shame because you've created one of the better shaped hoods I've ever seen.  It does, however, limit its use when there isn't eye holes.  The outfit itself is also quite exciting because no one else besides Nextor Torres and Cynnix have done anything with shoulder pieces for the Sbb.

Is it possible to make it alpha-editable, specifically the portion that covers the face, and secondly, the shoulder piece?

Or can I have your permission to get someone to alter your mesh to do that and of course give you credit and link back to this upload?  Thanks again for this new mesh.

If you want to do that, then be my guest! I am relatively new to meshing, and while I've pretty much got stitching meshes together down, finer details like alpha editing and shine and enabling bump maps are still a bit beyond me. :) Just credit me please!

If you like shoulders, I can take requests. I've got this guy about done:

But there are hundreds of other models that I could yoink and pull into the Sims. This site (http://www.wowmogging.com) has most of them sorted and displayed for easy browsing.

I can honestly say there will be many people who'll love any creations you share here. Just a tip for your use: When uploading, select your image file first, then your zip/rar file. Putting image first will allow for the forum thumbnail.

Also, when posting hyperlinks, used "url" instead of "link" in your code, like so:

Code:
[url=http://www.wowmogging.com]This site[/url]

I fixed it for you in your post so it would display correctly. :)

Great! 3yay

That one is great too.  It'd be fabulous for a Sbb (hint-hint).

I'm going to post your file at Plumbbob Keep and see if someone can make it alpha-editable.  (You should check it out if you haven't already.  Lots of medieval custom content and conversions.  I do Sbb recolors and some other male resizes.)

I'm thinking your Paladin is adaptable to the Dragon Age templar armor but I have to figure out why the dds plugin isn't getting picked up by my photoshop first.  (I have Windows 8.)

I'll send you the revised files once they're done.

Thank you and I'm looking forward to your next upload!

Thank you so much! I was wondering how to make the thumbnail. I edited my first post so it works now! ;)

Waiting to post him until I have the female version done. Also trying to figure out why the crown is semi-transparent. >.<

What I know from recoloring (I can't mesh):

If something is semi-transparent, check the alpha.

Black means it won't show through, white means it shows and gray means you can see through it.  But if you black it out, and you see flesh tone, then it's not alpha editable.

The shoulder piece is cool.  Lots of Skyrim armor texture could work there.

The head piece is sort of reminds me of Loki.  I can't wait!
