Title: The Roboticizer
Post by: Bobcatben on July 21, 2006, 11:00:05 am
Update: This is now compatible with all 3 ep's, but not the base game, as the skin changing function as added as of university. Details below.

Your Sims tired of being organic? wanna spend some time as a robot? this machine will make it happen... The Effects are entirely reversible though..
this machine was hand built by a strangetown mad scientist who was then never heard from again... but his loss is your gain.

No this doesn't turn your Sims into servos... yet(it overlays they're skintone with a robotic one once someone figures out how ill add it though)

it appears in Electronics/Misc and costs 5k.
its cloned from the electric enigmatic energizer aspiration reward.

Compatibility notes:
Update:
The 3 files are as follows:

TheRoboticizer_NL_And_OFB_Full.zip contains the object, global hack that keeps the robotic skin on the sim when loading the house, and the skintone. should be downloaded if you havnt downloaded the object before.

TheRoboticizer_NL_And_OFB_Upgrade.zip contains only the object and global hack, should be used if you downloaded the object before and just need to update it, as it lacks the skintone.

TheRoboticizer_Uni.zip the university version

TheRoboticizer_Global_Skinpreserver_Inteen.zip Global hack patch that is inteen compatible(Only use this if you use inteen, it wont be to happy if you dont... game crash wise..).

This does contain a bit of a global mod, it replaces bhav 0x7F01EC29:0x224a(Function - Main - Set Skin) to keep the robot skin on the sim on loading the house, christianlov's skin tone selector and sim copy mirror do this as well but my version doesn't interfere with normal skin clearing(eg when its actually supposed to) it only stops it when they are modified(person data 0x0098 set to > 0)

Included in the zip is the Skintone SimDroid V6.0 Non reflective(the robotic skin tone the machine changes the sim to.) By Bink13y (http://modthesims2.com/member.php?u=8833)

i can make versions that use other robotic skintones if requested.

At one point i had the animations more fine tuned, but when i had it like that it left smoke attached to the Sims feet.. and electrical sparks all over they're body.. so until i figure out how to do it without those happening the animation isn't as convincing(the transformation happens before the spasming around in the machine...)

Enjoy, and please let me know if anything doesn't work.

it works in nightlife., im still working on a uni version.
theres some odd things with the electro enigmatic energizer original object.. when i clone it from the base game version and use in ofb it only appears as half the machine. when i clone the uni version and use it in ofb it appears normal till you use it, as soon as the sim "steps" in the tub half the machine disappears and stays gone, i havnt tried cloning the NL version but im sure it works, as the clone from OFB works fine in NL. im installing uni on another computer to test a uni version.

FYI: conflicts with InTeen (InTeen overrides this global for the same reason as this mod).  Neat mod, however.

I guess I misunderstood the way you phrased it originally.

I will have to try it now :D

Does this work with the various non-maxis body meshes wandering around?

Man! The title catched me like a lightning. I immediately supposed you succeeded to include effective bhavs on a normal Sim. I'm still waiting for my new comp (should be 4 times bigger than the one I have now) to try to program directly on individual Sims.
Anyway it was very funny. Thank you.

It works, but it's not showerproof.  It also seemed to make the lot computer behave oddly (the SSX game was on whatever I did); but I suppose that could easily be in combination with the other mods I'm running.

ya, that would make things even more tricky and even more Dependancy's, i never noticed cause i never expected custom meshes to apply when naked.

its clothes, a special hair and invisible face, but that would just make the sim look like one, not Be one.

Omg so cool, you should create also that the remember that the became a robot, just like U remeber when U became a vampire, werewolf. And U should have other motives and needs when U are a robot like, Instead of hunger, Electric Energy, and that they could be shut of just like servos. The should not have human needs! the should have robot needs, Can you make that plzz i would love that. Ps. love your all hacks and mods.

If I have Inteen do I download the Inteen Version and the full pack or just the Inteen version?
