Can someone please tell me how to put skylights in my roofs in build mode?

They're transparent floor tiles, and the roof is a floor too.  It requires a bit of cheating.  There is a tutorial to show you how to make a shaped roof out of floor tiles here http://mikeinside.modthesims2.com/building/curvedroof/index.html

I just found the transparent floor tiles on MTS2 and have dowloaded them.  Again, thanks you guys.

there's a really good/easy to follow tutorial by Jonesi at reflexsimsforum (http://www.reflexsimsforum.com/showthread.php?t=269) to combine skylights with Maxis' rooves.

but you should probably be aware that if you have Seasons, deforming floor tiles for the purpose of making a roof will most certainly allow rain/snow inside your house.
