I noticed while stalking these threads that the elders were grossly under represented!  I think I would love to see you post your sim elders doing interesting things or just posing for pictures so that we can admire their oldness... Well here are two of my favorites!

great idea and i totally agree! here are some of mine. i'm sorry i can't remember their names.

the lady of the house is one mean old woman. she can't stop yelling at her husband who, btw, is the kindest man in the whole sim world and certainly is not the one to deserve such tongue lashing.

Well lets see... (starts to count on fingers while mumbling) theres Kiana, Erin, Sahra, Billy, Nathan, Raleigha, Ethan, Hope, Faith, Shelby, Rebecka, Kevin, Aaron and little baby Rachelle. Fourteen, but three kids are still teens, two are children and one is a toddler, so there is going to be a lot more.

i've been playing malcolm landgrab since i first started playing the sims 2 (on and off, obviously) and now he's finally old. sigh... he's my first sim (along with his wife, judith) to grow old and they're the first sims to give me (:rabbit:) grandchildren.

how long do they normally live? i kinda like the guy :happy8:

tumle: It depends on their aspiration I think.  I believe the normal life-span for elders is somewhere around ten days or there-abouts though.  Not sure.  Only had one or two die of old-age on me before.

haha well thats too bad.  I find that elders are GREAT for having home businesses!  Thats pretty much what I use them for!

Thank you very much, they were based on my husband and I. I think that's why I had such a hard time letting them go. That song is my song for my husband. I've always told him I would never have known the true meaning of love, if you had not come along. When they died they were best friends with all their all their offspring. But I'm gonna miss her. I only have her and one other Sim that just showed up at the dorms to visit their children, grandchildren, etc..just popped over for a visit to play with their grandchildren. She couldn't stand for anyone to be mad at her, she had to make it all better. Sort of the way I am in real life. lol Different though, we have only had three children and were just now going to get our fourth grandchild. But I wouldn't mind 22 of them...;)

I think she is gorgeous Homecoming, I almost didn't post my poor simple Sims when I was going through and seeing all these gorgeous ones. How do you all keep them from getting wrinkles? You can't see them real well on Bud and Lynn because I didn't zoom in for close ups, but they had wrinkles around their eyes, noses, mouths, etc...is it in the make-up? Or in a custom skin? Hope it's the latter I have about 80 percent of my Sims in Linda's skins now, so hopefully they'll be good looking elders like all those I see here ;)

Well with Vivian the custom skin I used (which I can't remember the name of at the moment), doesn't have very many wrinkles as the maxis skin does when they turn elder. But since I wanted Vivian to be an elder yet look young, I used use some foundation/blush and it seemed to cover up almost ALL the wrinkles...well, to the point of where you can't see them anyway ;D
I also forgot to post that I absolutely loved your post, Diana. It seemed so real and heartfelt, the little creation/banner thing you made was really nice too. It sounds like your Sims were truly in love, it gets hard to let them go when they become elders because you've been playing them for so long a little piece of you loves 'em...:love5: Sorry for the Spam. Dx I'll post more elders later to make up for it my lovelies~

My elders usually end up living to be 76-80. I love my sims but 25 days of being an elder....Its better if you play all the familys legacy style so the elders can spend their days with family, alone watching them read for 25 days can drive you nuts.

Although, I do find them by themselves boring, but my elders usually live with a family member.  That way I can get free child care and let them get to know their grand children.  I have 2 who are out on their own.  The Oldies can be a little fun if you let Papa loose on the town.

I know that losing a sim is hard, no matter how long you have played their life, or how often you play their household.  I get teary, especially when the family is around with them and they are crying.  What got me, Ira just bawled his little eyes out. Coral just consoled him and went to the window and looked out with this blank look on her face.  That got me so bad, that I thought about bring him back. :cry:
I really need to let some of my elders die, mainly because I have so many character files in my game, 1009 to be exact.  What I need to know, can I delete the characters that are objects, like my tour guides and charlatans that are listed as objects, I have like 55 of them.  The ones listed as persons are 3 each, so I figured I could just keep those.

I did the same thing, diesel!  Sometimes I let them go, most times not!
Sorry, didn't mean to make everyone sad, I just wanted to say bye to Herb Oldie. I really liked him more when I changed him to popularity, it's hard to make a elder romance sim happy, when they have to potty and sleep so much.  Plus he was too lazy to keep up the routine. :D  Sad thing about it, I had to work hard to get Coral and him to fall back in love. After that she only had him for another 4 sim days, before it was his time.

I hope this doesn't make everyone cry.  Diedre Love had a long, good life and was in platinum when she died.
She loved her grandkids and greatgrandkids, so much.

Yep, Sliim, the cat keeps curling up by her bed.  I don't know Dollie (the cat), could look at her picture on the table, but she would just stand there staring at it. I was too moved to get a pic of it. But it was time, cause the family was at a stand still. Time goes on, even in the sims game.

Maxis generated look, will show updates to his look when I play the lot and the wife has a birthday. Vicca will be and elder in 6 days.

I like the elders sims. But don´t like to play with them because they are gone to die, and I fill always sad when my sims die. :(
