There's no satisfying way to do this yet, as the existing animations don't really fit the particularities of a four-legged mesh.

Now, the best centaur meshes in my opinion can be found on http://www.rosesims2.net/ (http://www.rosesims2.net/); I don't think I'd be able to do better. :)

This mesh should work with or without any EP, there's nothing special about it; as long as you properly unrar the files and put them in your downloads or saved sims folder, the clothing should show up in every category.

Now, if more people report the same problem, I will try re-packaging all the files.

This is an awesome looking mesh!  I can hardly wait to get home to download!  This is by far the most realistic looking Mermaid Skin I've seen so far.  Does it come in different colors?

I am OBSESSED with mermaids so I had to download your BEAUTIFUL TAILS!!!!

I extracted them to the sims2 Downloads folder, what should I do now so it will show up in Nightlife. Should I install the expansion already??

My advice would be to first take a look at the tutorials on the body meshing tutorials on the "create" section of Mod the Sims 2; you'll find the full shopping list there, and very useful advice for beginners. :)

Read the very first post Butterflykiss4u Marvie specificlly noted that no recolors should be posted to the exchange.  I have posted quite a few recolors here in the custom clothes forum, and am working on more. If you want to post some here that is ok with Marvine.

Sorry about that KlutzyAngel I skimmed the first post LOL. I didn't read this first and I will delete my mermaid from the Exchange, but honestly there are probably  100's there now. I will post what I have made here in another post. Thanks again for your help.

I don't care if there is 1 or 1000 Sims on the Exchange with someones mesh included. When the artist says do not upload to the exchange it means do not upload to the exchange. Period. IMO The Exchange is nothing but a boil on the butt of the Sims 2 community.

If you are using Firefox browser, you should try using Internet Explorer instead.  If you are using AOL, you should use IE also.

Empty your browser cache and try downloading again.  Make certain you have the meshes and skins extracted and in the main Downloads folder.

If you have Family Fun Stuff installed, try updating with the patch -- be forewarning, the patch has an evil habit of screwing up more than it fixes.

Check to make sure that nothing by Marvine or myself is in a sub-folder.

I am so sorry to post again but it tells me after i extracted it that you must double click a costom content package file to install... sorry again

After you extract the file you never click the .package file just place it in MyDocuments/EA Games/Sims2/Downloads

First off - if you use SimsFileMaid or SimZip, stop using them, I cannot undo potential the damage to files that they may cause.  If you are using a Macintosh computer, you may experience difficulties with corrupt files that I can do nothing to correct.

It is assumed you have read and followed the instructions in the first post of this thread (http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=6326) - it is also assumed you have tried everything in that thread to solve your problem.  Since you offer me absolutely no information whatsoever and are obviously of the mindset that I am a psychic computer healer, I will now proceed.

This is offered in the understand you are on a PC running Windows XP, if you are on a Macintosh computer there is probably nothing I can do to help you further than to suggest you stop using Safari browser to download RAR files.

If you have not already done so, change your system settings to display file-extensions of know file types:

   Go to Control Panel
Double click 'Folder Options' - I only use Classic View, so I can't tell you where this is located in the new lay-out
Click the 'View' tab
Look at the Advanced Settings box.
Find the statement 'Hide extensions for known file types'
Remove the check from the box in front of 'Hide extensions for known file types'.
Click 'Apply'
Click 'OK'

Now, check to make sure you have the following files in your downloads folder:

   MESH_ju_merfolk_toddler.package
MESH_ju-beos_merfolk_child.package
MESH_ju-beos_merman.package
MESH_ju-beos_merman-regular.package

If you find these items, they should all be in the Downloads folder not a sub-folder.  Even though The Sims 2: Nightlife adds support for sub-folders, this leads to problems on some versions of the games, and I cannot garuntee results if you choose to not follow my advice.

You have not extracted the files, but only moved downloaded .RAR archives to the Downloads folder; and then they would never work.

In what is now approaching 99% of all the trouble-shooting I have done for the merfolk this is the cause...  you have no idea how much this makes me want to get court injunctions forbidding the use of a computer of any sort by the people I have had to help...

Hi there...I just wanted to start by saying that your mermaids are absolutely beautiful.  I did have some trouble getting them to show up but one by one I'm starting to see them.  I did get the adult females and the males to show so I decided to recolor some for my personal use in the game.  I did notice that I have not come across any topless mermaids...I mean...do you really think a shell bra would be comfortable?  Lol...anyways I took the liberty of making some myself and just use the custom nude skins i have found on this site and others to make them anatomically correct.  I would like to share them if that's ok with you guys but i do not know how to package them into rar or zip files to do so.  :ot: Also i have created many cool things for my game but i have so much custom content that i cannot remember where everything came from.  I would love to share but i do not want to make anyone angry.  Anyways once again thanks, you guys are brilliant!

Also one more thing...For those having problems getting them into the game...I have found that using 7zip (free PC: http://www.7-zip.org/) works just fine...I extracted the files and put them into my sims3d folder and just for extra measure i did install them with filemaid as well.  I hope this helps...the first one i got to show up was the aquarious mermaid from sapphire sims2 so I know the mesh is good, but the recolours already posted on this site do not seem to want to work..I'm still trying to figure out why.  Somebody please get back to me and let me know if they've experianced this problem also.  :ot: One more thing...does anybody know what's up with the doors in sims2...i cannot build any houses.  Thought it might be my game but my sister seems to be having the same proble.  Help me PLEEEEASE! Just wanted to say thank you for responding...I was wondering where it went too...lol.  I lost alot of my content when my game crashed but i did manage to save my mermaids.  I am still new to this but i did package my files into 2 collections...one is just titled topless mermaids the other is my SeainColors Collection.  I was lazy about the...err...chest area and will need to probably include a link to some good nude skins to make them look authentic.  Any suggestions?  Once again thank you for your help and the outstanding work...your creations are absolutely amazing.

I save the file to my desktop...then i use 7zip to extract the files...from the zip or rar file. (free PC: http://www.7-zip.org/) After that go to my documents/EA games/Sims2/Downloads...and just put them into the downloads folder...they should show up in ur outfits in bodyshop or create family.

I've installed all Merfolk available, and all is well, everything is showing up just fine (isn't that amazing?), and they're GORGEOUS. But I have one question that, despite my reading every post on the topic ~ I think ~ hasn't been addressed, to my knowledge:

Is there a "shower-proof" genetic skin available for the Merfolk? Or is this not necessary...as in, they keep their tails in some other way (not defaulting to nude when they bathe?).

I'd like to know before creating a mer-family in CAS. I was going to just make one and experiment, but then I thought I'd better ask first.

No there is no genetic skintone there will be once they figure out how to make a baby merperson also.

At a first glance I'd say that you created the download folder into the program folder (Program files/EAGames/The Sims 2/) and I don't think that can work; the regular place is in MyDocuments/EAGames/The Sims 2/.

Um, I'm sorry for asking, but I can't seem to get the Mermaid Mesh to work. I'll try to explain what I've been doing.

I originally downloaded the files to "Desktop/My Documents/My Downloads"

I went to WinRAR and went to the section.

I dragged my mouse until it highlighted all of those downloads.

I dragged the files over to "Desktop/My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads"

But when I went to create a Sim, they weren't in any of the clothing sections.

Before that, I tried to ".package" them by right clicking and extracting them from "Desktop/My Documents/My Downloads" to "Desktop/My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads", but for some reason, they all went way down to 96 bytes, so I guess something's not right.

Sorry again for asking. I hope that that made sense. >.<

Sorry for not replying sooner. Since some people can't get the mermaid mesh in game and all the others work fine, I'll upload an alternative package with all GUIDs changed, hoping that will fix the issue.

Now, the Q-Xpress installer works only for files downloaded on MTS2; the files uploaded here are regular .rar files, that must be extracted with WinRAR or any other .rar extractor and then put in your downloads folder. For more help, refer to the help forums.

Click to download, or right-click and "save as"; then extract the files with a .rar extractor such as Winrar or 7-zip, and put the files in your "My Document/EAgames/The Sims2/Downloads" folder.

The outfits will show up in every category in CAS and Bodyshop, but you'll need to browse back a bit since they aren't recent files.

Ummm... hi! Well first of all, these meshes are the most gorgeos things I've ever seen! Well done! And secondly, every time I try to download them, they never come up. The only one that works for me is the toddler, but I've tried downloading them several times. Can anyone help me?
