Post by: VETTY on January 30, 2006, 11:35:54 pm
Hello, everyone.:angel1:

This hairs are converted version for young ages of beosboxboy's Loose curly hair of male.

His adult one can be found here :
(http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=4030)

File includes 4 package files and 3 mesh files (toddler, child, teen).
I put the same name from original files, so you can just overwrite them to use boys.

Thanks beosboxboy and others for this hair again,
It looks beautiful on man really..!

Have a nice day, everyone.

*Feel free to message me if anything's wrong..*

Thank you!! :) Beautiful Work. How do you make hair show up in the right color bins? Thats amazing!!! Do the TURN ON and TURN OFFs still consider them as the color they are in? That would be great!! :B

Thank you!

Yes, Pyrobon!
'Turn on/off' does consider by following the colors they're in.

You can categorize hair colors by using one of Datgen (http://www.datgen.info/default.aspx) plug-in 'SkinManager'.
(http://www.datgen.info/downloads.aspx)
- I'm using Develomental realease version - others freeze in my computer when load the files

I follow this steps and it's very easy to do.

1. Start DatGen. Open SkinManager under 'Browsers'

2. click 'Open All Custom Hairtones' in one of those second top icons.
   It will let your computer search all hair files, wait until it's finished.

3. click 'Hairtone Category Editor'(It's on right end of icons) to bring up BulkHairtoneUpdater.

4. click 'Search' It will shows custom hairtones in list.

5. Find hair package file name you want to change,
             Use the + boxes next to each file name to drill down until you can see the names of each texture.
             Now drag each of them into the right color square placed above.
            (You can see 6 squares on top : black, brown, blond, red, grey, non-genetic/other)

   *most uncategorized hair file will have 6 textures like this..
     (under [Hairtone: 25f20267-4b7c-1430-b8b8....] yet for example)

      pfhairmob_red  -> drag to red square (or other color the texture is showing)
      cfhairfuzzylongcp_red -> same
      tfhairfuzzylongcp_red -> same
      yfhairshortperm_red -> same
      yfhairshortperm_red -> same
      efhairshortperm_grey -> drag to grey square

     You won't get any dialogue saying something's happened, but it's been fixed.
      - do as same on other color packages.. blond, black, brown. -

6. Click 'Save Changes' and 'Search' again.
   now they are changed and will now show up under [Hairtone: Red] for this case.
   (except efhairshortperm_grey, it's under [Hairtone: Grey].)

Now it's done! hope this explains enough for you..

I use SimPE to bin fix custom hair but I'm always happy when it's already been done!

/repost
I followed a tutorial for SimPE but the thread has a link for a Datgen tutorial also
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/sm...p?topic=2119.0
The SimPE tutorial is 11 posts down, by dewshine (has pictures)

there is 1 mix up in that tutorial ie;
00000001-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 (Black)
00000002-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 (Brown)
00000003-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 (Red) <---is actually Blonde
00000004-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 (Blonde) <---is actually Red

bin fixing (as I call it) is fairly easy to do but time consuming if you have alot of files to do

/end repost

Thanks sleepycat! But you are right, with datgen is way faster (and easier for those of us who find SimPE..confusing O_O)
So far i have categorized many hairtones :D! And now when randomizing babies they won't go just with the custom hair of any of their parents, but also other styles in that color category :D Its pretty cool

Title: Question on the Elder Hair: Datgen
Post by: dailyrebellions on February 13, 2006, 02:42:36 am
When you catagorize the elder hair, do you end up with all the elder grey hairtones (one for each: red, blonde, black, brown) in every single screen?  let me rephrase.... In CASIE, when I make the sim an elder, whether i pick blonde, red, brown, or black, ALL the grey tones, i.e., five copies of the same, are displayed....

what am i doing wrong?

Post by: VETTY on February 14, 2006, 10:52:12 pm
I haven't been able to find out how we correct it to show only one of Elders yet.
In my game, every custom hairs have 4 same grey hairs showing no matter they're or not categorized in colors.

I once read the thread about this subject but couldn't find any who knows the way to solve this problem.

It's not bugging too much but kinda annoying and it would be so perfect with only one grey hair of each.

please let us know if anyone knows about this problem. :)

(and Thanks Sleepycat! for the SimPE tutorial! although the link's not working for me right now but I was looking for it for a long time.)

heh, thats odd, try this link
http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php?topic=2119.0

the title of the thread is Recategorising hair with SimPE

theres also information there about the elder hair, so only 1 shows up, Reply #5 (also by dewshine) has some info, others might too *can't remember*

I found the male mesh in an uploaded sim. I'll see if I can find that link again. Beos seems to have removed his user name and taken down everything he made from this site.

Here's the link: http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=37120&highlight=tyler+hair

There may be others.

ETA: I may have spoken too soon. When I unzipped the sim, I did not find the mesh after all. It will pop up somewhere  I suspect. If he makes it pay over at TSR, it will wind up in the PMBD Booty, if not, it may show up at the graveyard or the Sims Cave. It's a pity creators decide to take their toys and go home from time to time.

Thank you for the beautiful hairs for youngsters.  They are really fantastic looking. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v35/aeval99/smileys/appl-2.gif)

It's unfortunate that the adult version has gone missing.  Has anyone had any luck tracking it down?
