Title: Game play issue
Post by: ange1face20 on June 24, 2007, 01:43:26 am
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a program that would allow me to check for bad files in my game. I recently uninstalled all of my expansion packs and reinstalled them. Then I started a new downloads folder again, but now I notice that whenever I try and click on a character the little diamond thing over their head disappears and or when I do manage to select them they don't do the task that I give them. Please help!!

How about Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer (http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/)? It`s very popular and I think it`s great.

If you open your downloads folder in it, you`ll see a list of your downloads. delete all empty packages and duplicates, that highlight in pink. As for the hacks, they`re highlighted in red, but I would`nt delete them all, only those that you are not aware of installing.

If it doesn`t help, move your hacks out of the downloads folder to check if the problem could be caused by a hack conflict.

There's also Delphy's Download Organizer from MTS2, and the Hack Conflict Detector from SimWardrobe, but I'd also try moving the hacks (and maybe all custom content) out first.

Try here (http://www.modthesims2.com/archive/index.php/t-93081.html). I haven't used it before, but it says it helps find conflicts in mods.

Hope I helped.
