Title: Sim Ideas?
Post by: fallenthrough on February 23, 2006, 12:15:39 am
Hey i made a thing where people could post ideas they think maxis should put into the sims2

i think that for pregnant sims they should have,
1. A Pregnancy Test
2. A Ultra Sound thing
3. A Dr Deliver the baby

because that would make the game more relistic dont ya think?

i would also like to see pets for the sims because that would be cool.

I would like to see my Sims riding a bike. And I miss the camping fire thing.
And they should have the female Sims, at some time, get all moody. *Hint*
Now that will be realistic. Which should happened during pregnancies too. lol

Sims in the criminal career should randomly get arrested, just like the burglars who rob their homes.

i want magic. :toothy5: the best thing you can do for your sim is put a curse on someone who gets on their nerves, or magically make homework disappear, or even have them make love potions... or poison:evil2:

I miss a family and guests singing around open campfires. I also miss the smoking hack for a bubble machine, where sims just sit and talk to one another (instead of floating and somersaulting). I used to use both of those circumstances for great stories about family legends being sung, and gatherings while smoking to resolve family relationship issues.

Both were central to a tribal type society I had going for many generations in Sims 1. I wanted to continue the saga, but I was missing some key elements, so I sadly said good bye to the story line. (gets misty with nostalgia)

Yes, the campfires were great! About the smoke mod for the bubble blower there is a mod on MTS2 somewhere that does basically that. I can't seem to find it at the moment (and I'm too tired to look that hard lol)... but if you look int he hacks section it's in there somewhere.

Does the mod you are talking about get rid of the "higher than a kite" syndrome? That just doesn't lend itself to my storyline. I did find a "smoke pot" mod, but that's not what I'm after. LOL

To change the subject:

Be careful what you wish for, when you ask Maxis for Sims 2 pets. Judging by their past expansions, what you will get is various ways to die by pets: poisonous snakes and spiders, rabid bats, deadly pet diseases humanoids can catch, pirahanas and sharks in pools, cat pans that cause miscarriage, dogs that attack and kill their owners when not properly trained, parrots and owls that bite viciously -- and dare we speculate -- killer werewolves. With each expansion, Sims 2 turns more into a death simulation than a life simulation. :shock:  :p

Another thought:

I'd like some gentle little faeries. Not the batoutofhell type, but pastel colors and beautiful butterfly wing type faeries. With clever outdoor woodsy objects and building materials so they can live in a home "without walls." I'm thinking about lovely waterfalls for showers, mushrooms for chairs, lightning bugs for lights, etc. I had all that in Sims 1, and really miss it. Probably too sweet for Maxis, though. They don't do beautiful ....

I think it is the smoke pot one, but they should have a second version of that hack that offers different color smoke and it should act pretty much the same as the bubble blower other than omitting smoke from it instead of bubbles... I know what it's called doesn't lend itself to your storyline but the function of it still should.  Up to you ofcourse though, I personally never downloaded it but I read all the posts about it and from what I could tell the only thing they really did was make it put out smoke instead of bubbles.

i'd like to see bikes too. then if the kids are late for school they can get themselves there instead of making mum and dad late for work driving them.
as to the moodiness... well, my pregnant sims sleep most of the day. it seems carrying is veeeery tiring. i can hardly keep them awake to eat and use the bathroom without insim. i've had many an unfortunate sim when i wasn't paying attention :sad5:

With the new family fun pack I'd like to see them have a new clothing option for children "Play Clothes". It looks so goofy them going to school dressed up as a dragon LOL. And it would be nice if you could save the leftovers from dinners too, so that when kids come home from school they can just microwave something to eat while parents are at work. :happy8:

I've started a new thing with "leftovers" Most of my families only have 3 or 4 people, sometimes less when first starting out, but when they "serve dinner/lunch ect" they make for 6, so what I do is when everyone has their plates I go the backpack mode and grab the serving plate and stick it in someones packback...then later or the next day whenever I just take it out set it on a counter and "grab plate" and if there is still some left, right back in the backpack it goes..no more half eaten meals getting tossed away and no more cookies and chips when the kids get home from school, they can have leftover lunchmeat sandwiches or even leftover lobster :)

i want a free roaming world, because I'm sick of all the loading screens.  On the same note, be able to visit your neighbors.

Title: Sim Ideas?
Post by: Honey86 on May 14, 2006, 08:51:56 pm
Well, here are a few of my ideas. :idea1: I too want to be able to visit neighbors. I want to be able to take my infants and toddlers out of the house and have parents carry a baby bag that worked like the inventory to keep their bottles and toys in. (Some of my sims are too poor to hire babysitters.) I want apartments that you can share with NPC's. I want Church. My sims need guidance sometimes, and the therapist isn't getting his job done!!! :happy8: And last for now, I want sims to be able to use their trunks!!! I hate it when they go shopping and the clothes just disappear. I also hate that $50 worth of groceries and $500 worth of groceries are carried in the same size basket!! BAGS PLEASE!! That's all for now, but I'm sure I'll be back!!

Title: Sim Ideas?
Post by: jjsmith on May 15, 2006, 06:03:40 am
i agree with you on the visiting, baby travelling, apartments, and church. but, for the sake of convenience, i have to disagree on the shopping bag idea.

Post by: Honey86 on May 15, 2006, 06:12:02 am
Yeah, maybe it isn't so convenient.  But it would make it more realistic!

Taking the baby/toddler for a walk in a pram, even having all the family go to a park or playground. Just being able to have them walk down the street or around the block past other sims houses would be great.

Title: Sim Ideas?
Post by: jjsmith on May 15, 2006, 10:02:12 am
how about all of that and working parking lots in the commuinity? then the sims that we know have cars can actually show up in them while we're playing another family.

Title: Sim Ideas?
Post by: Queen_Maddi on May 16, 2006, 04:30:38 am
Being able to take babys and todlers to the comunity lots would make it much more realistic and also if the sims had to water the INDOOR plants aswell as outdoor because i dont see why they dont have to anyway :)

jjsmith, about your windows not working, check you have the lighting on "high" under graphic options ;-)

Hm, my ideas... well I liked the weather idea they had before they released the game, but what I really wnt is an extreme edition which is not suitable for kids and has some -ah- more realisticness in it, heh

Oh yeah, they should bring gifts too if it's a birthday party. For kids/toddlers, they should bring little toys like you get in the toy chest, and for teenagers or adults they should bring chocolates or flowers.

Yeah, that is a good idea. Sims deserve gifts!! That way there will be more to buy at stores. I also like the idea of working parking lots. :sign7: Now, along with parking lots should come a driving skill. Sims with low skill points should have a random chance to have wrecks!!! (not only with other cars, but hitting trash cans, mailboxes, etc). I think that would make the game more realistic than just any sim being able to hop into a car and drive.:tongue5:

Title: Sim Ideas?

Title: Sim Ideas?
Post by: Honey86 on May 30, 2006, 08:16:15 am
Yeah, that would be cool. A fear of "having a relative have a wreck" would be funny!! I'm not quite sure if I like this idea or not yet, but I was thinking of possessions. Like every sim in the house would have their own simoleons and certain objects that you buy would become 'theirs'. Kinda like cars, but if a sim isn't the owner, they would have to 'ask' to use it. I hate it that my teen and her dad have a negative relationship, but yet I could use the money from her job to buy him a new bed...or she could just hop into his car and go out to clubs!! Not very realistic at all!!!

What do you mean?

I download all the versions of Inteen besides the EP3 because I have Just uni and NL. The files were with the same name so I opened new floder in the Download floder and I put there the other files.
Maybe it's the problem?
 -I delet the NL files because they made problems-
There is somthing wrong in the things that I did?

[Sorry if my English is wrong]

Edit: I forgot to wrote something:
I deleted the NL files because when I came into a family there is 1 Bio clock and then he make himself to many clocks that expand all over the house!
What can I do?!
Thank you very very much! :):)

Title: Sim Ideas?

you need to download one inteen for the latest ep that you have and delete any others. what i meant was that some of the files in a version of inteen seem to conflict with each other (even though it's the same version).

This brings back my fond days of Fisher price but I would love for them to bring in working civil service jobs. Be a policeman,fireman, postman, etc. Still have the socials but also have different job functions to go with it. Go out on patrol, get calls for burglars, shoplifters. Be able to respond to that bad cooking sim, and maybe start some new flames of romance..:) I know some have done themes along these lines but I would love to have maxis do them.

Same along the lines of a Hospital, Prison, with careers meshed to these, so that when you leave for work you actually spend your work day doing something else.

I'm in a very BIG problem,give me an advice.
I had 2 people [in the sims] that the loved each other.
They did "Try For Baby" and she got pregnant.
I forgot that she got pregnant and I moved the man outside from the house.
The man started a new realitionship with an wother women and they had a baby.
Today I got into the house of his previos friend and I saw that she is pregnant 'cause I didn't know.
What to do?
A. An abortion.
B. Let the women get the baby.
C. Kill the women.

Thanks (:

I would love being able to age sims in the Create-a-family so you don't have to manually do it when you move them in. That and teens being able to be siblings to adults and having the option to live with their grandparents right off the bat.

Since I been playing lately , what I would like to see is.

. Fully autonomous neighborhoods. Optionable but what I mean by this is you create what ya want, and if you want to play a family, thats fine, but while your playing so is the AI. I dont mean just on your lot but everywhere. Time passes all this time, unless its stopped manually. This would be more like a science project, As for how the Sims function, the AI dictactes percentages of what the sim should focus on, as far as aspirations, if needs friends they auto call or invite friends. They get their own jobs, pay their own bills, all you have to do if ya want is watch, or nudge here and there if you really want to direct something specific. You add your ingredients, maybe stir the pot, and presto see what you created.

I would even go so far to say, when building houses, you could highlight floors to specific rooms and designate them dining, kitchen, bathroom,etc. With all objects assigned to room, let the AI also buy its own furniture with its personality style. Maybe by setting priorities to specific items like a bed being number 1 item for a sim in a bedroom then once thats placed it can add other things where room permits.

Maybe its just me but I would love to just leave the sims on for a long period of time and come back and see all the surprises/changes that took place. If I do that now, chances are the house is burned down, the sim peed all over the place or had a nervous breakdown and died. Got a favorite sim? Put him in, speed the game up, watch a movie or whatever and come back to see what he did with his life.

Smaller things, permament household staff, butler,maid,COOK!, hehe we have a maid and gardener partime but no cook, just the ability to eat out or go out for food. Well the servo I guess....

Not god but the ability to choose a hands off approach if you like or the ability to have them run themselves just like a created sim would do w/o cheats if he shows up at your community lot or home. I would just like to take it a step further so the neighborhood grows if I choose without my full hands on guidance.

I wouldnt say make the game all like this and the options of what you want be in control of, wether its 1 house or several, or none at all. You can still override commands if you wanted.

I dont know if anyone is old enough to remember little computer people, but the sims renminds me of a complex version of that game. In that one all you did was ensure he had food and water and he would do his own thing. Some may get bored of a hands off aproach, but sometimes just watching sims do their own thing is interesting.

Right now we pretty much influence all aspects of the game from the business their in to the house they live in, to when they need to hit the toilet. If he's sloppy we pretty much force them to clean up, if he's lazy we motivate them. I would love to see a sim decide his place is a mess and if he doesnt want to clean it then hire a maid. Or a person with a knowledge aspiration get a job as a scientist or any other job that promotes that field. Choose to build up his logic if needed. I can create 2 complete opposite personalities and plop them together and see how long they get along.

More than a lab experiment than playing god, afterall this is a life simulation, but right now these lil fellas couldnt survive on their own  w/o our help. I think the current game is more of a god role than what I would like to see..:)

I like the idea, Lochar, but on a smaller scale.  Maybe just the houses you want to can 'live' on their own.  Like if I have a sim I'm playing, and already know who I'm going to marry them off to, then I can have the other sim that I'm not playing be able to go about their life, and see if no one else comes along that they like better.
Also, what about if after a certain amount of time, your male sims will begin to grow the facial hair and beards.  And if you don't want them too, you can click on the sink and choose a "Shave" option.  It makes me think of the old bathroom mirrors in Sims 1 where you could brush your teeth.

Lol its funny you mention that cuz I was just thinking about that the other day, I still dont know what groom is for but I thought it would be better to have an unshaven look and even hair mussed after so long of inattention. And on a smaller scale for autonomous would be good as well but I figured go for broke. With toggable options, we could use your example and control the sims to get  them married, even try for a child, but if thats all you want to do for them, then you can toggle them back and let them rear the kid(s). Maybe take control again to marry the kid off to a particular sim, etc.

Its just funny the sims have settings for abilities yet most times we control them or else they become miserable.

Well there are quite a few things that I would like to add to the Sims 2.

First of all; I agree there needs to be more interactions with babies, defo! Like you could have a sling around your fron you could put them in, a bouncing chair, playmats, a pram (buggy for toddlers), babies could have hair- I mean hello, my son was born with a whole head of hair- clothes, blankets in their cots and playpens they can interact with.
Also for children and teens in general; a wendy house, car seats, proms, exams, more toys, baby dolls to play with (Action Man for boys), draw pictures- scribbles-, toddlers to be able to play with other toddlers, first boyfriend/ girlfriend and parents meeting ('cause that's always a hoot!:lol:), crushes on popstars and footballers and write stories.

I'd love to see pregnancy tests aswell and also be able to follow your sims to nursery, school and work. Also the hospital, doctors, gynaecologists, dentists etc...
Obviously I want those in the game! :)
When the sims are pregnant they should go for check-ups, ulrasound and in labour then they should be in the hospital on the bed or in water and scream, and the doctors, midwifes and families should be their. There should be a icon for "Held '...' for first time"

Well I've finished my "WANTED" list for the sims 2
:love2: Vicky xxx

Post by: SashaSplat on November 26, 2006, 06:20:48 am
I agree with most of the points made here. What I'd like to see is more ways for the Sims to die. For example, per say, a Sim had been shot or stabbed to death. Not that I'd wish that upon anyone but It'd make for excellent storylines. Concerning the Sim's deaths, wouldn't it be more realistic if the expired Sim wouldn't turn into a tombstone or urn, depending on where they had died. I'd like to see the deceased Sims get a proper burial, a public cemetary would be nice. Another option would be cremation of the dead Sims. The angry teens can still throw their urns. ;]

More BodyShop options would be nice. As pleased as I am with what I've been able to do thanks to BodyShop I can't even begin to imagine what could come in the future. Genetics, another issue at hand. Couldn't the genetics be more realistic? The Maxis skin is so blah, the hair looks fake and the clothes I wouldn't be caught dead in. Hire people with taste to design this stuff. Note; the eyes look like they have cataracts. Thank God for custom content makers. :]

Concerning the aging process of the Sims, I'd like for there to be more than six life stages. Even though we are spoiled by what we have at hand now, I'd like to see Maxis expand on their technology and soar to new heights. I'd like the aging to go like this; {note- each day is 24 Sim hours/24 minutes real time and each year of a Sims life would amount to 12 Sim days}
* Baby (0-1)[1]
*Toddler (to 3)  [2]
* Young Child (to 6) [3]
* Older Child (to 10) [4]
* Pre-teen (to 12) [2]
* Young Teen ( 13-15 )[3]
* Older Teen  (16-18) [3]
* Young Adult  (19-24) [6]
* Adult (25-40) [15]
* Older Adult (45-55) [10]
* Middle Aged (55-70) [15]
* Elderly (70+)

Note; The aging of the Sims would be gradual, of course with Birthdays but do we need them to jump in the air and grow up. Maybe if it was just in a snap?!?

Different height ranges would be appreciated:

[1] 4'11 - 5'1
[2] 5'2 - 5'4
[3] 5'5 - 5'7
[4] 5'8 - 5'10
[5] 5'11 - 6'1
[6] 6'2 - 6'4
[7] 6'5 - 6'7
[8] 6'8 - 6'11

Different body types would be nice too: most of us are not built like Barbie and Ken, some of us are naturally slender and some larger. Why the cookie cutter people? Why don't the women have curves?

Here are more ideas that I don't know how to categorize:
[a] hair grows; men would need to shave, women shave legs, Sims cut their hair too.
karaoke singing; I miss it from the TS1 days. I miss the good old times going downtown and wreacking havoc with my Sim's unfortunate lack of singing talent
[c] the genie in the bottle; God I miss that guy
[d] more spontaneous deaths; examples being, a bomb dropping from the sky and leaving nothing but a crater and ashen dust where your Sim's house used to be.
[e] flooding and flood damage to furniture.
[f] fires having potential to burn down the house.
[g] weather, I am aware we are getting it in an EP. However it would be nice to have some days really hot like the dog days of summer and some are dreary and overcast and sometimes the weather can affect the mood of the Sims. How about heavy rainfall? I am not sure if some video cards can handle that however.
[h] Sims having unique speaking voices and even accents? British, Ugandan, Japanese, German, Russian, to name a few. Accents are cool and I want individuality, remember no more cookie cutter society.
Mayor of the city; mayor lives in mayor's mansion and administrates the city.
[j] follow the Sims to work (optional) say your Sim is on the police force? How fun would it be to follow the Sim to work and see a day on the field.
[k] more detail and attention to the smaller and trivial things, yet some would appreciate. The cracked eggs when concocting a delicious pastry? Pasta sauce spilt down the shirt? Burning fingers on trays.
[l] more television channels, one Science Channel, one for History, one for News, one for Music, and the list goes on...
[m] real threat of terrorists or supervillains and not so friendly alien invasions.
[n] Sims being able to move their own furniture.
  • Going to the supermarket and picking up groceries individually, and they will have more realistic prices. When a Sim chooses something from the refrigerator, the screen will pause and allow the user to choose which food the Sim wishes to take out of the refrigerator and eat/cook/whatever. Food spoiling and freezerburn would be realistic too.
    [p] Making it easy to place furniture on 45 degree angles without going into cheat mode.
    [q] whilst handling money the Sim actually holds a cash currency instead of the little ching sound. Sims can count how much money they have, they can invest it (even have a credit card and write checks) Sims have wallets, Sims give their kids lunch money. Money is important.
    [r] No blue peepee puddles on the floor anymore. It's supposed to be yellow and hello people in real life do not assume mops out of nowhere to clean up their messes?
    Female Sims get their periods.
    [t] Sim parents can read to their children by their beds and even sing them to sleep.
    Getting dressed and changed should be more realistic, yeah we wish we can jump and twirl in the air and voila, presto! We are in a new outfit. Why not have the Sim pick out what they want to wear by examining what they have in the closet, drawer, or floor that they want. The game would pause like it would for the refrigetor and the Sim dresses, pulling shirts over heads, zipping up jeans et.
    [v] brushing teeth.
    [w] The fur carpets from TS1 where the Sims would be able to lay on and cuddle with another Sim or chat simply.
    • Burglars actually break into windows (if they are not locked) side-note, there should be more window interactions like clean, lock, unlock etc.
      [y] Campfires (but the Sims would actually build them) I miss putting campfires in the middle of living rooms on top of carpets and watching the Sims burn.
      [z] Sims can move with all their furniture and inventory when moving to another lot, and the different cities should be interconnected somehow. Maybe a president of the Sim world on the game? There would be a capital city, suburbs, ghettos, rich neighborhoods and in each different city or setting it is different reflecting different cultures and traditions. Such as ghetto=urban gangster, uptown=pristine and cultured, etc.

      It would be nice for a Sim to go to a neighbor's house by foot or car and actually follow the Sim there. The same for shopping and going to town or the city. The Sims can go anywhere they want. There can even be top secret government buildings, pawn shops, hair salons and barber shops, etc. Sims can try on neckelaces and stuff before they but it and they can buy CDs and preview them with headphones. Going to the movies is another thing, and we follow them to it and all as they buy tickets, popcorn etc. Etc etc etc. :d

      Vacation, all I ever wanted, yeah. Bring back vacations, either a Carribean island, a Siberian tundra, a Brazilian rainforest, an old city in Europe, high in the Alps, how about globalization and the Sims living in different countries? Of course all will speak in Simlish but with different accents. There can be Sims versions of the countries, as much as they can put in there. Long-distance phone calls'd be cool and traveling overseas and all. Maybe even moon plantations? Sims would be able to interract with everyone.

      Now I am a genius am I not?

I'd really like to see another Makin' Magic type pack *hides from flying debris*.  I mean, what the heck?  How far off from that is maxis with the werewolves, zombies, vampires, aliens and potions in the game already?

I'd also like to see something similar to the console game's approach when it comes to cooking.  Give them ingredients, let them make different meals on their own instead of handing them a plate of something.

You're not the only one. I personally would like to see a TS2 Makin' Magic like pack too. I'm keen on making a Harry Potter universe story on my game and a pack like this would be beneficial. I'd love to have wands, cauldrons, flying broomsticks and potions. Hypnosis, mind-control, casting spells, some not so pleasant at an opponent. Going to a magic school. I know that Maxis wouldn't be able to take anything directly from the Harry Potter series but maybe something generalized? Just enough to get the feel of it.

Definitely miss the crafting/gifting from Sims 1. And probably just because I was irritated at Sim kids jumping on beds, and dogs digging holes, I'd love to have an adult be able to discourage bad behavior and not immediately repair the situation by telling a joke or playing fetch. Annoying and unrealistic. :roll:

Hi everyone, here are some of my idea’s I have that I think should be added.
After playing the Sims for a while I think maxis should focus more on social action in the family.
Here I have some suggestions that would make the game more fun.

Talk about the kids: The parents could sit and talk about one or all their children.

Talk in bed:  They just lie down under the sheets and talk to each other.

Give a sim a breakfast in bed:
Both Sims sleep, you wake up one sim and click on the 'give Breakfast in bed', option on the bed.
That sim goes to the kitchen to prepare the breakfast, and then brings it to his/her partner.
Wakes up the other sim, then they both have a nice breakfast in bed.

Romantic dinner at home or on a community lot.
At home you click on the fridge or stove an select ‘prepare romantic dinner for...’
the sim prepares the table, puts candles and flowers on the table then starts to cook.
After dinner is set he/she gets the other sim and they have a romantic dinner.

Support another sim:
I always wondered why this was lacking in the game lol.
When a sim dies, other from the family get very upset and sad.
I think it should be possible for another sim to give support to that sim.
Family Sims should be able to hold each other and while crying and give each other
support.

Sims should also be able to make an urgent call to a close friend.
The friend should come and hug and support the sim with his/her loss.
They could add wants for this, so when a sim is sad they should show up.
A want for getting support and comfort and one for giving support and comfort.

I’m also thinking about sim kids and teens with bad grades,
they should be getting comfort or support from their parents.
Like the parent or friend walks to the sim and talks to that sim about their bad grades.
This could also be done for sims that lost their job.

As last I wanted to suggest that all sims age kid and up,
should be aware when a sim in their household is pregnant.
Then it should be possible for a sim to prepare food for pregnant sim.
Sims should be able to talk to the pregnant sim about the baby or congratulate the sims with their pregnancy.

Just a view of my idea's that I think would make the Sims more fun to play. ;)
Pffff this got longer then I thought lol.

hm..well there is TONES of harry potter stuff at mts2......(yeah, ok, your saying ya want the OWNER of the game tomake stuff but, i cant see them managing that specifically,..magic, sure but not HP stuff, since they would get into an argument with JK lol)

i would like to see kids be able to make breakfast and dinner from the fridge without hacks...(yeah, ok, not cooking, but come ON, peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches with a blunt knife are safe for kidies....as is cerial..i know real kids spill and squish stuff but...)

enable those that *choose* to be um, more mature ect, to have their game more adult..i dont mean totaly graphic, but hey, people make out and more on the couch, in the bath, in showers ect, its not just cars/beds/hotubs and lifts....just ask when installing the game...'Do you want to install the family-friendly edition, or the Adults Enabled Package?'

family friendly being..no dead pets/kids/no nekkid, no fights, no jelousy maybe..lol
Adult being, you choose what you want..if you just want teens to be able to live alone, elders and child/teen to be able to live together without havign to make a set of pearants in game and offing em, then you just tick the box that says, Tenn/child do not need a pearant, only a relative in the house.

also, to be able to select stuff like...
no townies.....no jelousy....sims need only to get to friend, then flirt to acept whoo-who....(i want that for my romance sims, they can be too much work lol)i would like em to be able to select or toggle on/off stuff like that, and whetehr or not you bring friends home from work/school, since some folks (me included sometimes) have trouble with large lots and more than 4 sims on them, and them both grups bring home workmates >.<

ooh, and a special tool for story makers, so that, instead of making a whole load of sims and then having to go in game to kill them off, you can generate them, then hit the storytellr mode and have them be ex-sims from the start....perhaps a whole dofferent create-a-sim section, called Create-a-StorySim, and you creat them, write their info or even events n their lives and then choose to ether make them a dead sim or a dead-with-ghost sims lol....
(i need that for my gothy and horror hoods, i just have trouble killing sims, i cant even drown a ruddy kowalsky (stargate reference) lol)

I really like this idea of more stages to aging..
* Baby (0-1)[1]
*Toddler (to 3) [2]
* Young Child (to 6) [3]
* Older Child (to 10) [4]
* Pre-teen (to 12) [2]
* Young Teen ( 13-15 )[3]
* Older Teen (16-1 [3]
* Young Adult (19-24) [6]
* Adult (25-40) [15]
* Older Adult (45-55) [10]
* Middle Aged (55-70) [15]
* Elderly (70+)
i want to beable to take the babies and toddlers to community lots and push them in strollers ect. when neighbors visit they bring them also....
more interactions with babies...children can hold them and toddlers can interact together....
how about they can jump rope, ride bikes, have rollerskating rinks,have games like monopoly the whole family can play.the list goes on and on....

What I want most is being able to take your baby's and toddlers in strollers and stuff like that.
And the storytelling/singing a song at bed is awesome.
And going to the church on sunday. (as in, you click on the phone, select 'call church' and then select either 'stop being a churchgoer ', 'start being a churchgoer'.) And if thats the used method, you should be able to select what you want as your default, and maybe even not making Romance sims able to be a churchgoer, because their lifewish just doesn't fit into the church. And teen and above have to choose by themselves, baby's, toddlers and childs go to church if one or both of the parents do so. And baby's and toddlers come along, because we would also have strollers, and there are 'babysitters' at the church.
And what I really want, is being able to call a babysitter, and let that sim actually be a teen instead of some old lady. And both genders please.
I mean, how many people are there that have old ladies as babysitter, instead of some nice energetic teen? And since when aren't there any males that love kids. Tssh. :P
And jup, I really want more interactions with baby's and toddlers, and a bit more with kids too. And I want them to be able to interact with each other, the kids I babysit are extremely proud of their baby brother/sister, and love holding, hugging and kissing them.
But, the strollers are really the highest on my list, I'd never leave my baby with some old lady, just because I was out buying groceries.

Tons of great ideas.  Especially in Sasha's huge post there.
More ages would be nice, but there doesn't have to that many.  Just adding in Preteen and middle aged would be good even.
I started to think of heights as well.  Don't think I posted this, but maybe more slider options for the body?  Like being able to control hips and waist size?  Shoulder width and arm length and stuff like that.  Even neck length.
Accents sound awesome too!  Ah, so many cool ideas to think about!

Wow...I just read some of the older posts...and a few requests there have actually been fulfilled...like having pets...and there was a few others i cant remember now..but still... maybe the powers that be are aware of what players want...or at least visit fan sites to find out...

What I'd like to see is more random stuff...like accidents happening I had a ball yesterday trying to make a pregnant sim be pushed down the stairs by her really evil ex-husband, having her tumble down, and land on a table with a candle on it...then having her lie unconcious while the house caught fire  <- all for a storyline... not hectic stuff like that, but tripping on stairs or over furniture?

*  Neat sims wiping their feet on the doormat before going into the house...but REAL quick, this could be annoying...

*  Changes to the house and landscape...like in the sims 1, when you disturbed the ground the grass grew back later on... the terrain paints should fade with time, and the paint on the house should dull... If a room is on fire the walls and floor should go black... steps would break through after some time, and windows would be visibly dirty (Kaylynn would have to have a specific wash-day for windows!)

*  Live-in maids, or at least having them stay in a room at the back.

*  Kids pretending to be sick to stay at home :)

*  Having parent-free households..(as previous posters noted!)

---and i agree with everything dutchdude posted!

Here's a new one that's a bit morbid.  Maybe if you have a sim that's overweight they could have a heart attack.  Depending on how overweight the sim is the HA could be mild, moderate, strong or fatal.
Another one I just thought of is that every time a sim wakes up/gets out of the shower you can choose new clothes.  Unless you only have one outfit that is.
And a third one, if a sim is serious their fun will go down from watching KidzTube no matter what their age.  More fun-loving would go up at any age.  And other things, like Neat sims getting fun from cleaning things like counters and showers.

I love the idea of heights, but, thinking about it, that would mean re-vamping hugs, kisses, backrubs, and pretty much all other social interactions that involve touching.

Title: Sim Ideas?
Post by: AxelVal on January 25, 2007, 08:48:11 pm
OK, I just realized the 'aging sims in CAS' isn't very descriptive.  What I meant was the 'days left 'til this age'.  I don't really like having parents at the bgeinning of the adult stage with teen kids, because it seems like they would have to been teens for the kids to grow up that fast.

Another along with the overweight: Degrees to it all.  Instead of the veritcal bar, a horizontal one with a small vertical one coming off the middle.  The middle would be normal...let's just do a photoshop of it.
It's a bad example, but it works.  Each section is a degree.  In the first overweight zone your sim look a bit heavier.  A bit more so on the next, all the way down to the end where they look maybe twice the normal size.  Same with the underweight only to the opposite extreme, looking thinner.
Fitness could have levels as well, but I think you get the general idea.

i'd like more social interactions, but lots more to do with pregnancy. i.e. more interactions with the baby rather than just 'rub belly' and 'talk to baby'. some acknowledgment of the sim being pregnant would be nice...sims being able to tell other sims they are pregnant...a bigger belly. clothes for infants.. sims being able to comfort each other...sit with infants and toddlers (hold them on laps etc)

i want magic. :toothy5: the best thing you can do for your sim is put a curse on someone who gets on their nerves, or magically make homework disappear, or even have them make love potions... or poison:evil2:

There are potions at MTS2, the gypsy matchmaker sells potions and I just kill sims that get on my nerves! (There are guns at SimWardrobe that sim-a can use to kill sim-b)
For me, it would probably be more food, more clothes, more custom careers and maybe fix some old glitches. Yes, I'm boring :)
EDIT: Reading some of the above posts, Maxis really underplayed the "pregnant sim". I think they should be whizzed off to hospital before they give birth, or at least do it lying down!
Or, if they ever come to their senses and include teen pregnancy (yes, I know about the inteen) then the parents should either get really mad at the teenager or comfort them (depending on their personality).

Sims shoudl definatly have nicknames. I have a sim called Isabella Rose, but I always refer to her as Rose. Whenever I get a message saying "Isabella Rose is doing well in school..." it doens't flow to well.

Along with nicknames, Middle names.  And then you can choose what name you want them to go by.
If you hover over their character selecter it has their real name, but all the little pop-ups have the name they go by.

That's just what I was thinking too, Axel.
Another idea which I stole from a speculating EP/SP 6 thread was Home & Maintainance. Like DIY kits, home-fix-it-quick supplies etc. etc. You know, something to fill the garage with, other then just a Lamborghini.
Just a Lamborghini

I heard that you can't take Pets to shows and win trophys anymore.. Gah thats a real shame. So yeah, they should've included that!

And a 'middle aged' age group would've been cool because i always seem to make my adults look around mid 20s early 30s, so i would of liked an age group that was late 30s and mid 40s, that would have been cool.

There's lots of CC that creates "older looking" sims, but there's nothing like Maxis doing a job-well-done for us instead :)
Oh, that's right, they haven't done it yet *fume*

You know what would be really cool to see with the aging system?  Being able to watch your sims grow, little by little, from a tiny infant all the way through elderhood.  Not just the little instant confetti poof from baby to toddler, toddler to child, etc.  I've seen something similar to what I'm talking about done before in a few other games, and I hope that this becomes a Sim reality one day.  :D

Maybe in TS3? I can't imagine them adding something as drastic as that to our current game. Besides, if they want to charge £35 for a new game we'll just have to buy - why shouldn't they?
*more fume*

Yeah, thats one heck of an idea.

It's a bit odd how baby's can drastically jump to toddlers and so on, what about the bits inbetween!

And i think they should have made young adults look younger to add more flare into the game, to show there is a difference between adults and young adults. (Apart from young adults have the ability to go to university of course)

With a TJ (I think) hack - adults can go too :)
*One minute I'm 10, now I'm 16! I totally missed out puberty: go me!

Dear God, I'm definitely not expecting it right now! That would be a downright disaster in the making!  :laugh:  Just something I'd look forward to seeing in  the future, along with more "natural" infant (and toddler) interactions.  They make playing the game with those little demons a little too easy if you ask me.  :punch:

My mom and I were talking about this for a while, and she thought up different levels to University.
Like in real life, you can play for an extra semester or something and get a higher level degree.  And, going with that idea, if you don't go to university at all you can only move so far up the career track.

So, let's say you don't go to college - you can only go up to the fifth or sixth level in a job.
Go to college for four semesters - up to seventh or eight level
Extra semester in college - highest level in job.

That and - the ability for teens and children to call in sick to school when they're actually sick (and teens can call in and pretend to be sick)
And the ability to drop-out with out hacks.  And if you do drop out you can only go up three or four levels in a career.

EDIT: Instead of kids calling in sick, parents or older siblings can call in for them.

Yet another idea.
What if, while creating sims, you had the option to choose your Sim's nationality.  That would divide up the facial structures you could use to create your sim - have facial features that pertain to that nationality - or there could be a 'mixed' option for Sims whose 'parents', whether actually created or not, are two or more nationalities, which would open up all the faces.
And, the nationality could effect other things such as hair colour, eye colour, facial hair (I know I've hardly ever seen a full Asian-blooded person with the Santa Clause-beard Maxis has) and such.

EDIT: And I know people love this on Sims enough to make skintones with it, so why not add it to this post.
Body hair.  Arm, leg, chest, whatever.  And then, going along with my idea of facial hair growing, while in the shower you have the bulls-eye option to 'Shave' - '(whichever part of their body)'.  And it can even be a turn-on or turn-off.

Well i would love if my sims could ride a bike...i would also like ( especially for my teens) to be capable to do skateboard and rollers...that idea with the carry bag is really smart !!!! that is all for now !

Alright, I'm starting to think I should go work for Maxis/Ea right now. *laugh*

I've had this idea for a whie, but just now refined it so it would work.

When your sim wakes up, the Plan Outfit box comes up and you can plan their everyday outfit.  Once you hit the checkmark another box appears asking "Change now?" and you click yes or no, with the obvious reaction of either dressing or not.  To make this a bit easier, if your sim only has one outfit the Plan-box won't open, but the Change-question will.  And, taking it a step further, take out the work and workout outfits from Everyday.

Then, when your sim is taking a shower/bath/soak in the hotub/whatever, when they get out a box will pop open asking if they want to change clothes.  If you select yes then another bx pops open with the different categories (Everyday, PJs, Undies, etc. excluding Work)  Then your sim change into whatever is set for that category.
If your sim was just in the hottub and you click no they will stay in their swim suits.
If they were in the bath or shower a robe or towel will be put on depending on a dialogue box that asks which you want to put on.

I had thought about this when university came out. One thing I dislike in university, when your sims work hard for their skills and study for the high grade point average, I wish they could come back to the neighborhood with more than $20000 simoleons.  Also, when they get their jobs, they are only 2 levels away from the top, which means it takes longer to get some money for a larger home.  I really depend on the bonuses for saving toward a larger home.  That's why I use Monique's bank computer, they move into a small building that's like a saving and loan, borrow money with the computer, and move out ( I use the stay objects shrub from Inge Jones), to a pretty decent home.  Oh yeah they have debt also!! I wish that was in the game without hacks. Done griping now, :-P!:smt120

If they ever make a Uni for Sims 3, they'd better add actual breaks during the week... :angryfir:  Who the heck would have classes every frickin' day of the week?!  Even college sims need a reasonable weekend!

That, and I'd actually like the idea to have an option to keep your sims teens throughout college.  Weird, yes, but just something I'd like.  :happy8:

That's a good idea too.So then a sim child's grade doesn't drop because they took a day off school because of sickness.I find that highly annoying. angry9:

You can't.  It's not possible. Whatever you're looking at, it's posing using animation/posing mods, NOT actual game interactions.

(BTW, You would've been better off starting your own thread instead of bringing up an old topic and hijacking it.  Just a tip.  ;) )

I agree with ganymede30324.
I myself find it redundant that none of the sims can discipline their sims children, or at least order them to stop jumping on the furniture or from fighting over a toy without suckholding to them.
Real life isn't like that, especially when you have kids.
A part from that, I would like to see in the sims is an actual sunrise and a sunset, not just for the sims to watch alone or with a loved one, but for one self as well. Plus a night sky with twinkling stars and darker rain clouds that move in the wind.
