Title: REDUCING download folder
Post by: YHsims2003 on July 22, 2007, 01:55:13 am
Hi everyone!
I was wondering, if you delete some custom content while playing in the game (like during the "create a family" and you click the trash can for the thing that you dont want anymore) do you have to go back (exit the game) and delete it again in the actual download folder? Or is it already deleted, permanetly?

ahh, i hope this makes sense! :smt120

Well I know for sure the textures are permanently deleted, but I don't know if the meshes are still there. Those you may have to get rid of by going straight to the Downloads folder. :S But I'm not sure either. lol

It only deleted the textures the meshes to that texture are still there :( But it's so worth it to clean it up, most thost textures are like 500 to 1 meg + so I can live with a little mesh floating around unless I know which one it is. :) Especially since I never delete anything permantly I like to cycle out everything, use some things for awhile then put things I haven't used in awhile or new things in and take all the old ones out. I save all zips in different categories in sub folders, so it's like getting a whole new game. lol

You can use Delphy's Download Organizer (DDO) to see if you've got any meshes or textures that are missing the "other" part.  It's at MTS2.

Thank you everyone!
But for the things that does not require meshes, they're gone right?
EX: makeup, some hairs, etc.

Exactly.  Anything made on a Maxis mesh and most makeup doesn't leave crud behind.
