these are all funny and so true !! i know i was wishing that when i went into labor with my son that i could just spin around and he would fall into my arms!! and most of all that i could go from fat to fit in just a matter of hours!! ahhh that would be great!!

  Is that bad? I also do it at malls regarding any household item and clothes, and if my sims don't have it, I find myself wishing they did. *sigh*  :wink:

..This actually happened to me a few times.. I had a dream about the Sims.. I actually picked up Simmish, and a few times almost said it to people.. I seem to have weird dreams involving Sims, Tetris..And toasters.

But wait, there's more!

When babysitting or attempting to care for your child.. you eye them at all times, then try to scoop them up and get them to STAY on the potty chair long enough for their bladder to go from red to green, all the time wishing you had enough reward points to buy Smart Milk so they'll fully train in a day!

1. That yiou can flirt with a friend and execpt them to return in postively.

2. Not killing off your sims or aging them into Edlers

3. You wonder why after 14 days of being a teenager you haven't become an adult yet?

4. When you start adding Your Sims into your Fanstasyland (True!)

5. When you add your Fanstayland/real life and put them as Sims in your game in a new nighbourhood (True!)

I caught myself wondering at the vet's, in a tiny square-shaped room they have for you  to wait for the pet's examination, whether it was more a 2x2 or a 3x3 in build mode.

Waiting rooms at vets are usually 3x4 squares.
Hospital waiting rooms {2nd level +} are 5x7, with half walls dividing it into two areas.
Ground Level waiting room for hospital is 9x8.

...and I haven't played the sims seriously in over a month.

This was off the waiting room and was a square room.  Trust me.  Tiny too.  Not for the claustrophobic.

 It takes a while to recover?  I dunno have never made it that far since it was released. ;)

If you start playing the sims at 7pm and the next time you look up from your computer it is 4 am (and you are only looking up to get up for the bathroom) -- this has happened to me more times then I can count.

When you worry cause you had to leave the game and you have a sick sim if somehow they are real and know how to keep playing when the game is off and your sick sim died cause another sim poisoned her/him cause they were jealous

My main thing is that I've started interpreting every interaction any person in + or - or ++ or --.

Or I start thinking about things I do as appearing in a little list in the upper left hand corner. Example tonight was: Have dinner, greet ex, Receive friendly hug --, be insulted --, chat +, gossip ++, argue --, be annoyed --, say goodbye. Then I felt a strong urge to go tip my ex's garbadge can. Lol. ;)

Or I think of people, places, or things I hate with a big red X.

I've been talking in Simlish a lot myself recently; I often find myself bellowing in very much the same manner and waving my arms about when a grouchy sim's motives are in the red zone. I'm sure most of you have noticed those with 3 or less nice points have a voice style different from the nicer sims, right?

1.-When you start using contraception because your self sim and your fiance's sim's kids are the ugliest kids ever to be born in Pleasantview.

2.-When you start measuring rooms in "squares" i.e. the washing machine equals 1 square-therefore my kitchen is 7x8 sims squares (am about to recreate my new house and am actually doing this in my head-no kidding :h3lp:).

I keep driving past furniture stores thinking "That couch would look really good in living room"

When you call for a irl friend only to cry "all my sims just died a minute ago" and that friend completely understands your misery... You have both played too much :D

When you cannot seem to navigate your way around things which are packed too closely together; instead, you just make the decision to stand around and complain. Also, if you happened to find yourself surrounded by an army of gnomes, it would be inconceivable to just simply jump over them or kick the little buggers over. Instead, you would just stand around complaining and waving your arms about like a moron until you starve to death!

Okay here's three . . .

Gotta say I spent this weekend in my PJ's from Saturday through to 3.35am this morning got to work at 8.45am and spent most of my day on insimenator and modthesims instead of working cause I'm to tired to concentrate!!!

I had to have a shower yesterday and I took 15 minutes to shower, 10 minutes to pigtail my hair (it's down to my butt) and got into a fresh set of PJ's still wet and went back to my PC.

When during this same process you go to the fridge for a drink, and your Sim calls you and you say, "I'm coming right back."

I'll be surprised, and maybe even mortified if that happened. It's hard to scare me, so ya know.

LOL go to sleep and you are a sim...and you wakeup  disappointed, because it was only a dream!!! (sigh) Or worst, dream about your favorite sim's life, problems, and wake up realizing your becoming a sim!!

1.You bring an empty sack the size of you head to your girlfriends/boyfriends house,hoping somthing big will magically appear in a cloud of red dust
2.When you start to notice a bump in your own pregnancy,then you start eating cheesecake around the clock
3.you walk behind the couch to exersise,and still know what moves to do
4.when you can doing a completley diffrent exersize routine than whats on the television
5.you buy a pair of glasses,and then try to make them turn into wings
6.when you are at the clothing store and buy everything thinking every peice of clothing is only 95 dollars
7.when you actually take time from your day to explain to all your friends what a simolean is.
8.when you make an exact duplicate of a simolean,and you use it to buy groceries *bonus* and the grocer accepts it!!!
9.when you leave dirty plates on the floor,hoping someone will be engulped by flies.
10.when you start eating from dirty plates on the floor.
11.when you are afraid to take a shower because the "cencor" isnt there.
12.when you are in labor,and just once you try spinning around *bonus*it works *double-bonus* you dont catch your child
13.when you hire some guy to hold a plumbob over hour head *bonus* you yell at him for not making the plumbob white.

1.)You wonder why that guy you've been dating for 3 days hasn't proposed to you yet.

2.)You start placing your hands over your ears and yelling "La la la" really loud when a perfect stranger starts talking to you about something you have no interest in.

3.)You walk up to a perfect stranger and try to give them a friendly hug and wonder why they reject you.

4.)You get on Monster.com and wonder where the accept position button is.

5.)You pick up a newspaper looking for a job, find one you want, go to work and wonder why the management has no idea who you are.

7.)You're terrified to use your telescope at night for fear you'll get abducted by aliens

8.)You all of the sudden start burning your macaroni and cheese even though you've been cooking it for years with out incident.

9.)You go to your computer to look for furniture, click on a picture and wonder why it's not showing up in your house.

10.)You intentionally set off your smoke detector just to see if "that cute fireman" will show up at your door.

11.) You see a guy with a big belly and wonder if it's from beer or if he's actually pregnant.

You threaten to sue when people post your suscriber content for free on sites, even though you know it is a game

Oh I am scared now... but oh well I'm always playing the sims 2.

1. When you start talking in a mirror then 2 hours later say "I've maxed my charisma"
2.When your walking you stop when something or someone is in front of you, even though you can just squeeze past them in real life.
3. When there is a fire in your house and the smoke alarm sets off you stand there panicking thinking the fire men would come in 30 seconds.

Guilty of:

• Making a self sim, then thinking "Damn, I wish I looked that good"
• Making sims of members of your favourite band and pairing your self sim with (at least) one of them out of wishful thinking :lol:
• Envying the lifestyle of your self sim; wishing you had as much money, etc.
• Buying your sims a car, then wishing it was that easy to learn to drive in real life
• Wishing that being able to play every musical instrument imaginable was only a matter of raising creativity points
• Using your self sim to try out different make up styles and outfits
• Feeling tempted to take up stargazing with a very expensive telescope in the hope of meeting aliens
• Wishing vampires really existed so you could get yourself bitten by one
• Or being grateful vampires don't exist as you'd fear going out on the town at night
• Wondering (or hoping) the kids you'd have in real life would turn out as cute as your self sim's kids

I think that's it :lol: I don't envy my self sim's family though, it's a real mess lately and it's gonna get worse :devill:

LOL when your sleeping at the keyboard, or almost totally out of it, when the camera is in motion, and is going through the walls, you think your car is crashing through the wall, then you wake up just then, relieved. Your not in your car, your at your desk, and sims is on.

One time i went to sleep thinking I had paused the game. I came back a while later all but one had died, I didnt save game, to my relief, and lol so my Sims were spared. So now careful to walk away simmies on pause. lol

When you leave the house, you examine furniture, grocery, etc. stores to see how you can re-create them in your game instead of actually doing any real shopping.

When a date asks what you like to do for fun, and you discuss how you're trying to make an alien takeover in Strangetown by impregnating male subjects.

When you look at sim pictures or make some sims in CAS and start to develop crushes, lol.

When you feel like showering after every trip to the bathroom, because it's more hygenic than washing your hands ;)

I feel the same way about all the cyber/gothic outfits I've downloaded. If only my wardrobe was as extensive as my body shop content in real life!

11 )  When you buy an empty lot and expect a house to built (with NO ONE there)  and have it fully furnished right before your eyes.  While your frozen.
12 )When you think.  Why did I buy those upper cuppboards.  I never use them.
13 )When you want new furniture,  you expect a mouse to come along,  make you get up,  move to some room, and come back in the room a second later and see a new couch and yo suddenly have more money but you can`t to use it.
14 )When you see it goes to 7 o`clock and expect it to go from nice and sunny to sudenly night time.
15 )At 6`clock every day,  you get a year older and think.  Oh my.  Tomorow I`ll be old!

19 )When you think you have a friend you try checking a bar to see if it has 50+ on the friend ship bar and go up to them and day, your my friend.
20 )When you go up to a friend,  put your hands behind you back,  automaticly hear a *ka ching* noise and expect a wrapped box and just give it to them. and have them shake the box.  What happens if it had somthing brakable in it.
21 )Say some jibirish and hope somone will here you and answear.
22 )go up to a puddle,  take a mop out of the air,  or your pants,  and slosh the water every where and expect the puddle to be gone.  even outside
23 )when you see some one (no offence) uggly,  you expect a plastic surgery kit to appear right infront in you, and say "I hope your in the platinum mood right now or else you will have a really deformed."
24 )When you look at some one with the same shirt as you expet it is more longer and poofy and pretty and say,  "I wonder where that got that mesh"
25 )When you turn on your stereo and expect it to be one the statio you expect,  and then you fall asleep with it on and then get back up and have a coniption fit and get mad and have to turn it off to go to sleep.
27 )When you go shopping at the moll with some friends and then say "My sim has that"  then they think your a nut job

--You dive into a pool wearing a white swimsuit and think that it won't be see-through once you exit the water.

You expect your kid to get into private school just by giving the head master a tour of your home (after purchasing expensive decorations that will be sold as soon as he leaves) and fixing a pot of spaghetti... And that you won't have to pay a dime for it.

when you get out of the shower/pool and expect to be instantly dry without using a towel. =)

When you go through the loading screen and realize that you don't really want to play anymore... I have done this about 15 times since OFB came out...

When you don't feel like doing the dishes, you lick your plate clean and expect it to magically disappear... (is that really supposed to happen?!)

When you've exceeded over 50% of PC hardrive space for your downloads and EPs.  (and that's 50-odd gigs not worth sneezing at!)

You have been playing the Sims 2 fot too long when...

1) if your baby 4 days after he was born doesn't become toddler and you are nervous because 'your little kid doesn't want to grow up'.
2) you go to electronics store and ask if the have InSIMenator.:D
3) your biggest want is to be saved from death and you make fire in your house but Grim doesn't come.
4) you are on college and ask where are llamas.
5) a person who you really like dies and you call to telephone numbers' central and ask for Grim Reaper's telephone number to get that person back.
6) you want to fullfill your needs and you write hundreds of 'Maxmotives'.
7) you meet a new person and when talking about yourself you say: "I'm not sure where my hair mesh is from but my clothes' mesh is by Sim Chic."

When you are talking to your son and keep referring to the logic table.  My son finally asked me what a logic table was and I said "Oh I mean chess table".  I didn't even realize what I was saying!

You watch a documentary about meerkats and they all start dying and you find yourself hoping Mama Meerkat got knocked up by neighbour Ground Squirrel.

You stop trying to open doors, use the microwave, etc, if someone is in front of it about three feet away. You constantly keep a neat house because you're worried about dieing by flies. You think being an expert at electronics is the only way to make the doomsday bot Servo. You fear telescopes because if you look through them in the daytime you get someone mad at you, and if you look through them at night, you'll get abducted by aliens. You believe in aliens (whoa, I guess I play too much Sims 2...). You don't go downtown because you're worried about getting bitten by vampires.

When you go into a swimming pool and constantly check to make sure none of the ladders have been removed.

The other day I was thinking after finishing my cup of coffee in the living room I should walk through the kitchen, the back room and down to the basement to my son's room and put my coffe cup on his night stand.

When you are distracted while driving through the Historical District and wishing that those stairs, windows, shutters, columns, porches, wrought iron details, archways, cupolas, doors, gates, stonework, curved stairs, widow's walks, ivy, live oaks with Spanish moss, azalea bushes, seagrass, tabby stucco walls or special grey-red brick walls were available in game.

And then you plot on how to use existing in-game objects to simulate the look anyway.

And manage not to run any red lights. :-P

When you are about to chortle "Woo Hoo!" because something good has just happened, you worry that people will think you are talking about pixel people sex.

You are annoyed that you have to buy insurance and gasoline, and and have to wash your car, and anything other than off street driveway parking requires a More Awesome Than You hack fest.

You get hungry when your Sims do, and take bathroom breaks when they look shifty and frantic and run to the Sim loo. Since your Sims get hungry approximately 40 times an hour, soon you need a fat mesh for yourself :snorting: and wish that treadmilling for an hour or two would take care of it.

When on a date, you avoid sweet little old ladies in hats, fearing assault and battery might ensue. :happy8:

Everything in your house has to be placed a square away from everything else and lined up nicely, otherwise you fear you'll get stuck and start whining and waving your arms at the ceiling.

Lowering your pants or raising your skirt to use the bathroom suddenly seems weird.

When there is something obstructing your path, you have a tendency to flail your arms about and complain instead of simply trying to move the object, navigate your way around it or jump over it, regardless of the object's size. Even a coffee cup on the floor can cause an obstruction!!

Oh, and you're also likely to look up into the sky, complain and wave your arms about if you're hungry, tired, bored etc.

When somebody tells you to "get a life" you reply with "But I have my sims..."

you dream of dating the hottest sim in the neighborhood

Dunno if this one has been said, but: when you have the Sims 2 building theme as a ring tone on your cell phone.
When you have the neighborhood music as a ring tone on your cell phone,
You wonder why you can't just re-create a dead pet in the CAS screen and then find them at your feet waiting to have their ears scratched.
You want your kid to go to bed at seven p.m. so you can have extra playing time.
You have trouble meeting the bills and try to use the familyFunds cheat.
You type that cheat in like the way I just did when you are only talking about it.
You build a better computer just for your sims game. (Guilty! The parts should be here next week!)
You wish that you could use the swatch thingie to re-upholster your furniture.
You look for the carpets that cost only 5 simoleons a square at the nearest Carpet Land.
You actually DO steal a neighbor's lawn gnome or kick over their flamingo.
When the hubby wants you out of the bathroom, tell him to wizz on the flamingo.
Look for the dishwasher and trash compacter when you don't actually HAVE one.
Get your mouth set for steak before going to the fridge and be po'ed when you only have hot dogs or vienna sausages. (ICK! skinned weinies!)
You dont' want to have trees or bushes in your yard for fear of being bitten and turned into a werewolf.
You forget how funny Mel Brooks movies are and have to be forcibly dragged from your computer to watch one while someone else hides the power cord to computer. (Guilty!)
You know that politicians would look better as sims.
You wish that you could take the ladder out of the pool so your most hated enemy would drown.
You wonder where in the heck the free will toggle for your toddler is so that you can override his desire to go where ever he darn well pleases.

Whats really strange is my sims dreams where I am in the game myself. I have a superstition about playing myself as a sim so I never do it, it was just odd in the dream.

When I look outside at buildings and their fixtures, I wonder how to place them on my lot correctly, getting the urge to use the building tool.

I also say "sebooloh" when I eat now and "mhm...mhm"  

I have improved my cleaning habits in the kitchen in real life, and I am obstructed by the empty microwave dinner boxes my fiance left on the stove and cannot cook unless they are removed.

I get very uncomfortable leaving food out because of the flies.

And finally, when I was bored, I waved upwards to the sky and said "heyyah?"

I know I've been playing the sims too long when I try to use the mouse to zoom in on parts of web pages... Or that some people I see look like they would make good sims... or that some people I see look like some of my born-in-game sims...

I know I've been playing the Sims too long when I wish clothing catalogues came in 3D or on computer so I could donwload the mesh and import it into the game.

I'll know the boundaries between the sim world and RL will have become blurred in my vision when I start insulting people in Simlish instead of using the f-word and the c-word.

When you have a TV show you watch, and then immediatly go to a dowloading forum and ask someone to make the characters for you

I was out patying tonight and saw a girl with the (almost) same dress my sim has. So I told my boyfriend "my sim has that dress" and I felt kinda proud. He just looked at me in a funny way :) He knows I play though and he just laughed after awhile and said that they should make a rehab for simplayers.

And a couple of months ago I was meeting my friend (she plays too) and felt that I had to click/press her to make her talk to me (that freaked me out a bit)

I often find myself saying "I have that dress for my sims", or "my sims have that couch" when I'm out shopping.  And yesterday I found myself singing the sim version of Too Shy while cleaning.  That was a bit scary.

I always tell my friends, oh my sims have that furniture and they look at me like I'm completely crazy!!

You know when you've been playing The Sims 2 too long when....

You start comparing your "real life" kid's developement to your "sim" kids. Why is it taking SO LONG to potty train?!?!?

You drive past a really bloated new McMansion and think, "wow, that lot would never run on my old computer".

Those smustleing (sp?) girls frightened me. My boyfriend came back from the pub on Sunday and found me at the computer sobbing hysterically "she's dead!! Oh my god she's dead!" and was most peeved when he realised I wasn't talking about a "real" person but my most faveourite sim I ever made!

When you're chatting with a group of friends, and find yourself forming a picture in your mind of which aspiration/how many personality points to give them as sims :oops:

What's even worse than that is when you introduce your mother to her sim grandchildren. Since then, she's started asking me about her "sons in law" and "grandbabies." :-P



Most of my close friends play, so we discuss stuff like that sometimes. We did it at a party once. . . we probably had too much fun with that.

At one time I was so badly addicted to Sims that I would get up at 3am to play it, and dream about it when I did manage to get any sleep. The hypnotic effect wore off eventually, thank God, but for a while it was madness. I think just about everyone has been through the sims addiction at one time or another. Everybody I talk to about it has a story to tell about how addicted they were to the game at some stage in their life. It's scary. :)

Yeah, the ones who like games so much. I have a friend that likes looking at/dressing sims and building houses but hates actually playing.

I think most of us go through phases. I've just recently gone back to playing the game instead of putzing around with it and the content. In the interval I've also been playing some other games that are not sim related. I mean, they are simulations, but not the sims.

Yeah, I remember the time that all I could think about at school and even during exams was sims. To entertain myself, I would daydream about, yeah, Sims!

I was sooo addicted, and I would make my selfsim alot, even though she looked nothing like me. Also I would freak out over my sims and talk to my friends about my familys for hours.

Heheh! Sometimes I find myself thinking (for hours) about what changes should I make in my Sims's lifes.

I know if I played Sims 2 AND Spores too much if I started having dreams about Spore creatures invading my Sims' homes in Sims 2.  :-[

I've often times had to stop myself from verbally comparing something someone at work was telling me (like, about their kids grades or something totally not related to video games of any type) to what happened in my current favorite sim family (such as "hey (insert sim name here) got an A+ on their report card too!!"

I find myself wanting to use the Family Funds or Motherlode cheat when we're starting to run into the red before pay day... :P

You get nervous in public when old women with purses and flowered hats walk by to close.

when you've made a big mistake in real life(school work etc.) you just wanna exit the moment whitout saving it and start from the last save :rolleyes:
(I actually remember thinking that for a sec that time I played the game so many hours)

When you get frustrated & decide to let it out by lecturing your kids in simlish... 2wait   

(If your lectured children actually answer you back in simlish you get a free Sims 3 game 1giggle )

You get all "awww man* cause your rl spouse wants some lovin but you just gotta see if your new sims animation works 2laugh .

You get all embarrassed in public because you cheered "Woohoo!!" at an event and you think everyone considers you a perv now. ——>actually

happened to me for about 3 seconds I actually caught myself begging pardon in the middle of a cheer—but yet didn't mind at all the 1,000 stares that I got for laughing hysterically at myself for the slip up.   As the crowds roar dissipated friends looked to me to share the joke which I figure they wouldn't get anyway so I just enjoyed my silly glee (people laughed at my unstoppable laughter as happens).

Reflecting on that still tickles me. 1tehe

In case any of you were wondering, Dreft works great in those things. Then again, certain kinds of dish washing detergent are great, too, as is Mr. Bubble... Nah, I wouldn't know from experience or anything like that, not at all... ;D

You know you've been playing the Sims 2 for too long when you STILL can come up with original descriptions of signs that you play the Sims 2 too much.

When you try hitting the 3 button to make you eat faster... then you realize there isn't even a keyboard at the dinner table.

When you see a dog and follow it around trying to pet it thinking it will turn you into a werewolf.

When you try putting your cereal in the oven (Yes, my sims do actually do this from time to time for some reason).

When you start scolding a pet in the sim language.

When you go outsite in the middle of a thunder storm to jump in puddles thinking you have an aspiration to get struck by lightning.

Same as when I was playing Sims1 - everywhere I look in real life, I want to click on things I want to download or rearrange how things are set up, and get frustrated for a split second that I can't ;)

That and winding up spending an entire 'session' just looking at one website after another, "shopping," and winding up with no time to actually PLAY!

You wish people would have little plumbobs over their heads so you would know if they're in a bad mood or otherwise.

You wish real life relationships would happen quickly and last for as long as you like just like in the game.

Any Stuff pack or Expansion pack you've newly bought would send you into a good mood for the rest of the week XD

When you try to Sim one of your friends, only to make them 100x gorgeous no thanks to all the pretty Bruno make up and Nouk hair you've downloaded!

Anyway, if you can sleep, make a whole neighborhood of Sims, and make a posebox and fully test it, and unlock the Chuck Norris Sim (All of that at the same time), you may have played the Sims 2 a BIT too much.

when you have to check your favourite sims sites at least ten times a day, and go crazy if you don't have access to internet for more than three days...

When it's seven o'clock in the morning, and you're still sitting there, playing...

1 If you start doing everything in slow motion (because in the game one min 4 them is 1 sec 4 us!)

2 If you always say the same thing when telling a joke

3 If you think you can just make the tv remote appear by itself and accidently press down on your own hand! ;D

Last year they came into my room & started out poking (which should have given me a clue) then did the throw your hands up motion (like sims do to scare the other person into thinking they're going to sock them--sounds included) I was busy saying the obligatory "ok you two none of that", while half paying attention & didn't catch the joke--until the slapping motions (one slap immediately following the other just like the game) and by the time they did "attack" I was roflol.  The little monsters.
