Title: Sims Resetting
Post by: Charley on August 11, 2007, 01:50:09 pm
Hi, each time i go on my sims the computer will reboot itself when i then turn the computer back on again it then tells me 'the system has recovered from a serious error.' Once i send the error report it says i need to update my Nvidia drivers which i already did not so long ago and it still does the same thing. Once the computer has rebooted itself once its fine and i can go on my sims, but its just annoying that i can be in the middle of a game then it reboots and i lose everything!

Did you try the beta driver for Nvidia cards?

There is sticky in the general Sims 2 help with a link to it.

I had the same thing a couple month ago and what I have to tell you now it's not good.
My grafic card (Nvida 6800 ultra) gave up on my. The rebooting started  first with the sims and I got the same diagnostic like you.  Later it overheated more and more and the pc shuted down just by surfing around, untill the card died.:sad4:

That's what I got from not taking care of my pc and not dusting and cleaning.

Maybe you can save your card, when you by a bottle of dust remover and spray blow all the dust out off the fans and the whole pc.

I had this problem too. I have finally change the PC without any Nvidia graphic card and now it's running without problem.

Gonna try and persuade my dad to get a new computer, but he just bought my little bro a laptop! Will try ''dedusting'' the inside see if that makes any difference, this has been happening for a while.
