Title: 'pregnancy wear any outfit' with BV
Post by: Alegra101 on September 10, 2007, 04:33:17 am
I don't know if it's right to ask it here about that but does anyone know if the mod (I think Squinge's mod) 'pregnancy wear any outfit' for ep5 will work with bon voyage? cause I'm about to buy this new ep and I wonder if I will be able to use this mod with it as I know that Squinge won't be making any updates to his mods (or maybe I am wrong?)
Maybe someone already try to play the game with BV having this old mod not taking off?

I will be grateful for any help  :worship:

Thanx!

Obviously there isn't a BV-compatible version of this hack in existence...not at this point anyway. However I do anticipate that somebody just might try their hand at updating it - could be wishful thinking on my part, though.

None whatsoever, although I haven't taken that family on holiday yet. I'll check tonight once I've finished work and let you know.

That's odd. I have it and it DOESN'T work. I've had to use Tom's Clothing Adjuster to force a redress.

Okay, well I guess that forcing a redress with boolprop would be the safer option at this point anyway.

After running the hack diff on that perticular mod a few days ago (and many others) and giving a link to where you can find info about which Squinge mods is compatible or not in another post here at insim in the Bon Voyage help section, I can tell you that this mod need updates and is NOT bv compatible.

Leave in at your own risk.

so you guys really think its not a good idea to have that mod in the gaem

I think I was clear already in my previous reply

Old Squinge's mod can be found at the sims2graveyard site.

Title: Bon Voyage
Post by: Firestar on September 13, 2007, 09:53:59 am
I loaded Bon Voyage and it caused my game to behave very oddly.  The screen started splitting, jagged lines appearing across the picture and then sites hung up altogether.  Dodgy disc. maybe?  Uninstalling undid everything I have done for the last five months, since I started playing sims.  I have a replacement copy now.  I imagine people who play a lot of games probably make backups, but I've learned the hard way to do this before adding anything new.: :sad4:

What I find truly amazing is all the fuss over a hack that effects a sim for three days.  Ok, so what if Maxis maternity clothes are butt ugly.  How much time does your sim actually spend in them?  Over 75% of the pregnant sims I have spend all their time going between the bed to sleep, the bathroom, and the kitchen.  No time for anything else.  Unless you have a mod that puts them into everyday/maternity as soon as they get out of bed, chances are they never change out of their underwear or pajamas.

I can see the use for it in contests and storytelling, but guess what?  Tom's Clothing Tester works just as well.  It's even updated with each release.

People.  Squinge is done.  He's elected to leave the community and pull his mods from a central download location.  No one has stepped up and said they would update this mod.  Don't expect it.  Don't wait for it.  Figure out how to play without it.

Yeah i have this hack myself and love it, but i dont think its that vital for me, i can play w/o it, although i still have the no relationship decay of squinge, and i know hes not coming back, but i just really need that one.

This is exactly what happens to me when I load a new ep without updating my video drivers.  After I do, no problems.

$#%#$%#!!!  I missed that link, Miss Doh, and I've spent more time bouncing around the fourms looking for incompatibility issues than I have actual gameplay!  I've played with this hack and with the Servo Change Appearence hack that is similar.  I'm guessing that one is also bad?  I do apologize for asking stupid questions.

I was IMA for a while. What happened to our beloved Squinge. Did he just stop making hacks? I just wanted to know. And yes I read the announcement.

He just didn't want anything to do with the Sims community anymore.  That, and there's way more to it, but those that weren't involved with it don't have the liberty to discuss it at all.  Besides, it's pretty well explained in the last two pages of this thread (http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=51443&page=4).  He wasn't as cool as we originally thought he was. Enough said.

It's best we just forget about it and move on with our simming experience.  I'm sure someone will make a similar mod.  If not, there's always the InSIMenator with the Wardrobe Adjustor (whenever it's updated... just requires patience from everyone), and, like ancienthighway said, "Tom's Clothing Tester" spawned with the "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" code.  ;)

ancient, I really found the pregnancy wear any hack extremely useful, along with always wear casual to work, when using custom bodyshapes.
Personally I don't really care what the outfit looks like as long as they retain the same bodyshape.
Will have to try this Tom's clothing tester, thanks for that.

Post by: CynaraBlade on September 17, 2007, 03:06:47 am
I've been trying out the boolprop method, and I've had no problems with it, other than the fact that the pregnant sim's outfit often reverts back to those dowdy Maxis maternity duds once he/she steps out of the shower. It's only a really minor annoyance, which can be rectified by forcing a redress with the clothing tester object.

In other words, I can happily survive without a BV-compatible version of this hack. Well, that's my 2 cents anyhow.

As MissDoh said before, you are taking a risk by leaving it in your game when it is so clearly in need of updating. If your game happens to explode in a BFBVFS, you've only got yourselves to blame.

Mine also works fine...I was suprised that I didn't need the update.  It also worked fine for Seasons and this is the one from Pets!  If I'm not mistaken, he didn't make an InTeen version for Seasons but I really can't remember which EP....

Nothing bad has happened *touches wood*
Then again I have 2 hacks in my game.
That one and the antiredundancy one from MATY to stop that darned tour guide from respawning 50+ times lol

You know, I hate to sound like a total hag, but here goes:

For those requesting the Squinge hack: He's left the community and it's no longer available on this site, as has been said several times, and as it also says in the sticky posted on the front page of every forum page here. Reading is your friend. You can get it, if you really want it, at the sims2graveyard. If you don't know where that is, then google is also your friend. It's been announced a few times that the PregWearAnything hack is not BV compatible. If you leave it in your game you do so at your own risk. A couple of alternative methods have been suggested that work perfectly well with the game and won't risk borking your game to heck. Just because a hack that is not compatible is working for you now, doesn't mean it always will. If you want to take that risk, then it's yours to take. Personally, I would advise you all to take it out and use one of the alternate methods until someone can come up with a hack that works.

Don't mind me, it's just a pet peeve of mine to read a post saying something has been proven to be non-compatible only to have dozens of posts following it saying "it works fine for me". Mods, delete this if you like, I just wanted to get this off my chest.

Chazzhay, this mod is not compatible with BV. Yes, it was a great mod to have, but it's not worth risking your game over. Read back through the past couple of pages and you'll be given two alternative methods to get the same effect as the hack in ways that won't break your game.

Title: 'pregnancy wear any outfit' with BV
Post by: CynaraBlade on November 17, 2007, 08:54:46 pm
Good god, what is it going to take for people to understand what "not compatible with BV" means? Sheesh.

If you really want to change your pregnant sim's attire, you can do so by spawning Tom's Clothing Tester with boolprop, or by using the Wardrobe Adjuster from the Insim. That's what I've been doing.

I realize you hate the repeating thing.I thought i had read somewhere that it would work with some of the clothing and some not.It would just leave them without the preg belly.Ofcorse i read up about this long ago and havnt looked at it since. It works in my game but some of the clothes don't work.
However if there is a danger in useing it then i would recomend you not useing it.I do beleive that alot of people don't take the time to read nor research anything on here and just ask for help. This , people ,makes everyone angry. It doesn't take that much to use the serch engine to find what you are looking for.Heck , if all else fails then read posts other's have posted and 9 times out of 10 it has already been addressed.
I personally don't get that angry at people for stupidity but as i have read in many other places most people do.
Just my thoughts.
If you are stupid enough to try it and it messes the game up then you have no one to blame but yourself. As been stated before it is not compatible,to use it would be a risk.
I personally left it in my game but i no if it messes up it is my fault and should not expect help from anyone when i have been amply warned.

OK. One more time. I'll even bold it so you can't miss it. I'm not even going to apologize for coming off like a total hag this time, because I'm so tired of sounding like a broken record and repeating myself to people who don't use the search function or read sticky notes, or scan through an existing thread to see if this question has already been answered too many times to count:

Squinge has retired from the sims 2 community and asked for his mods to be removed. They are no longer available for download on this site, nor are they supported. This means NONE of his mods have been updated for BV, and are therefore not compatible. There are alternative methods to use that have been posted throughout this entire thread! Reading is your friend! Support for his mods IS NOT provided on this site anymore. Period. If you have them in your game, then you have them there at your own risk. If they break your game, we can't help you, because they are no longer supported.

Kiki, as has been said several times, Squinge's mods are no longer supported on this site and aren't compatible with BV. If you keep the preg mod in your game, you do so at your own risk, since no one here can help you if it breaks your game.

You can used the wardrobe adjuster in the insimenator to change your sims maternity clothers, or you can spawn Tom's clothing testor from the in game testingcheatsenabled cheat to do the same thing.

I'm going to lock this thread now, since this subject has been beaten to death and beyond. May it RIP.
