Title: Deleting items/hacks with custom memories + clothing.
Post by: digni7y on September 22, 2007, 09:32:42 am
Probably a stupid question, but: I have several hacks and items with custom memories in them. If I were to delete them from my game, would I corrupt the sim or my neighborhood?

Also, if I deleted an item of clothing using a custom mesh my sim is still wearing in game, would they just revert to Maxis clothing?

Yes they would.  They will choose the next available outfit.  Make sure you delete the mesh too, not just the clothes or the sim might be flashing blue.

As for your other question, I am not sure, I think the memories will vanish along with the object but would that corrupt the sim, no idea. I avoid using cc objects using custom memories.  You could just back-up your hood, delete the object, load your hood, quit and check if they are still there in SimPe.

SimPe, why didn't I think of that? *facepalm*

Note about the custom memories: Deleting the objects and hacks doesn't seem to have done anything to my game (even though my poor main sim had miscarriage upon miscarriage and encounters using the adult shower as a teen *cough*.) The only unusual thing I noticed was that she had a memory in SimPe of "Burning Unknown." But I haven't removed my custom food yet. Her daughter's memories also don't seem to be affected, I was using the "Childhood Crushes" hack. So, I guess it's ok then.

Thanks. If I have problems, I'll let you know.

Thanks for letting us know and yes, if you notice anything unusual that could be related to that let us know.
