Title: How much of your Downloads folder do you actually use?
Post by: SkeleBear on October 18, 2007, 11:38:07 pm
I was just curious as to how much of the material in your "Downloads" folder you actually use 'in game.'

Naturally there is no precise way to know, but in your best estimate, how much of the stuff in your folder is actually used in your game?

Also, how big is your "Downloads" folder, either in files or memory size?

My "Downloads" folder is 2.85GB, 5232 files, and I would guess I actually use about 10% of it, if that.

Let's see...I have over 4GB of content, with approximately 20000 files, and about three-quarters of it is Bodyshop stuff. I like to heavily modify my sims in an attempt to make them look decent, so yeah, that explains the vast amount of BS content! Mind you, I do have a lot of hair recolours which I almost never use, but whenever I spawn townies, there's a significant chance they'll end up with a custom hairstyle, which is why I'm a bit reluctant to delete them. Not that it would harm the game anyway...

I´ve started all new with BV and deleted all the unidentifiable files. Now I have Folders, subfolders with subfolders and everything is named and tagged so that I can find it and delete it if I don`t use it. But still, of all the eyes, all the hairs, all the houses and all the clothes, I use only half, I estimate.
It is nearly 1GB, just a little smaller and will stay that size, because if I get something new, something old goes...

I'm often starting a new family with a new home. So I'm using much of my download folder.
