The Kobayashi name is from her husband, who's of Japanese descent.
"Growing up, Olivia was looked down upon (especially when she refused to choose one side to identify with) and isolated because of her mixed race background...now people think she's interesting because of her 'exotic' background, but she protests the 'exotic' label and doesn't see the big deal about her background."
