The suit has its own collar and sleeves.
and i made him a nice haT :D

I have this in my Defaults Folder in my Sims2 directory but if that doesn't work for you guy's put it in your Downloadfolder.
Since i installed BV i cant place alot of my stuff in subfolders anymore, same with this download, didn't work when i moved it arround.(not even in my subfolders in my Downloadfolder), any one have a idea?

I will include the uvmap for the whole outfit and the hands/legs seperate.
You need Simpe to recolor this outfit as it is a replacement and remember you can only have one Default replacement.
I put up a screenshot on how the hat is mapped, i might have flipped 1 or 2 upside down.......
Its also possible that there's a little join on the neck area, the collar is from another outfit that was build diffrent.
I thought it looked ok now, but if it doesn't ill update.
I didn't spend much time on texturing, its not my thing ;)

You need Simpe if you want to recolor this outfit.
You open the package with Simpe and you export the texturefile.
You change the file with Gimp/photoshop or watever you using and then import it back again with Simpe in the package.

Not ez because you cant see the results untill you make a baby ingame :)

I textured this outfit with the help of Milkshape.
In Milkshape i can put the texture on the shape i created.

Aw, I think it's adorable! We really need clothes for babies. I'm sure most babies don't just wear diapers. :)

BlooM, you may think i'm dumb asking you this but... do you have your Downloads folder spelled out right....the reason i'm asking you this is because i have ben moving my stuff around a lot lately...trying to get things right for Bon Voyage also... anyhow my clothes makeup and hair stoped showing up also....I finely found out i didn't have my folder spelled right..the s on the end of my Downloads folder  was missing...i just put the s back on and everything is working fine now!

I was browsing through MTS2 looking up on subfoldering I came up on this page. Just thought it might be a great starting point or a refresher to start researching any problems.

I learned that I can not put glasses and accessories in a subfolder. :(  (fudge) I do have them subfoldered even though I know they dont work since right before BV. Thats got to be a problem at Eaxis making others accessories not work just so your forced to use Eaxis junk.

I hate that I have to run all the Sims Stuff unorganized in the saved sims folder. Everything except default replacements. They are in my Ea Games /The Sims 2/Defaults folder since it seemed like a better idea to find them. So Far so good any problems and I intend on putting them in the main Downloads folder.

btw, have someone made any recolours yet? I really like to have some choises in baby clothing. I hope someone comes up with clothing that you can change ingame. pink for girls or blue for boys...

ok, so now i'm trying deperately to learn simPE for making recolours to this mesh (have to admit it's my first try using that program), but the problem is, when I try making them, the recoloured file won't show up, and I'm sure I'm doing something wrong... :(

is it possible for you to post a simple tutorial for recolours to this mesh somewhere on this site? I found one, but whatever I try, things won't work.

Yay, recolors! Is there a black and white color, or something like that? Because my babies outfits clash with their nurseries every once in a while, since green doesn't combine with everything. :P

Tenshii~Akari is making some outfits, but dont forget only one will work, thats why i choose neutral colors.

Its really strange....BV causes random bugs......
While some stuff works for one, it gives bugs to his neighbour ;)

I actually managed to make a recolour :D (who would've thought that my first experience in simpe would've been an infant diaper replacement?)

but for some reason, the textures turn a bit blurry, and I wonder what might be the reason... (and if anyone wonders, I borrowed some of the textures from the hospital recolour and fixed the colours/made my own shirt-rec)

Make sure you have a 24bit png and use the dxt import function in Simpe.
Its prolly due a screwed png....ask Tenshii Akari, she knows al  about it.....she had the same.

I guess this might be the problem... but how do I save the png-files in 24-bit? I'm not very good in photoshop - but it seems the files saves themself in a 32-bit png (I'm not sure, though...I mostly use psd-files and jpg)

I could've needed a step by step tutorial (including whatever I need to do in photoshop...) :(  are you planning to make one?

oh, and for some reasons simpe doesn't find the DDS-folder (I just downloaded it)

If you are in photoshop save your png for Web, then you
can choose 24bit.

If you combine the 2 links i gave you know all :)

You prolly got to go to setting/options in Simpe and manual select the folder were the dds tools are located, i know i had to....

I first downloaded the wrong thing... no wonder I couldn't find it...

I think I finally worked it out now (a lot of test tries in simpe...) at least now it looks better when I check the file in clean installer). now i'm gonna check it out ingame!

and it worked!

now I'm heading off to make a lot of recolours... :D

Dont worry about your english, im from the Netherlands and im understanding you very well :D

If it wears the clothing but not the hat you have another mesh replacement installed, prolly the one from Windkeeper that replaces the original diaper mesh with a nude mesh.
If you post a picture i can tell for 100% ;)

I love this infant outfit (as I've said a lot of times now), but is it possible for you to make a whole outfit (like this, only with whole legs) with the hat on it?
I've got a bunch of recolors for another mesh, and those would've looked a lot better with a hat on them.

I saw a few of your outfits and aren't they based on the Pubodynaked?
Following the links to mts2 im almost sure its the naked mesh you need.
I can make a replacement with a naked body and the hat, if you like.

hi Bloom, this is such a great mesh! I love it! I've been using it for a while and it worked perfectly (hat and all). That was on my old computer and now I have a new one and I had to re-download everything. Now your mesh won't work...:( it works but the hat isn't there. I only have one installed in my game (the hospital tee). I love this mesh and I hope I can get it to work!

It could be that your graphics are all resetted to low or medium, I know that too see the hats you have to have the graphics set to high. Or it could be that your new computer does not have a good enough or compatible graphics card for the sims 2:-P

I've got all my settings turned up (can't live with them low!) and I'm pretty sure its not my graphics card this is a brand new computer. but how can you check your graphics card?

Thats strange.....

Its the default Maxis mesh, not mine(it doesn't have sleeves/collar and smooth waist)
But it does use my texures.....very strange.

Try this:
Create a new folder in your sims2 directory, NOT in your downloadfolder!!
Call that folder ''Defaults''
Put my mesh in that folder.

I work with a default folder for ages, its a bit more organized and i put all my default replacements in there.
Just dont put default replacements in sub folders!!!(maybe you did that?)

Okay, I made a Defaults folder (not as a sub folder) and I moved the mesh to there (I deleted it from the Downloads folder so its only in Defaults) and it still looks the same as in the picture.

This mesh doesn't require any EPs does it? Because on my old computer when it worked I had the base game, Nightlife, University, and Seasons installed. Now I have all those installed except for Uni.

I had it like this once with the pay mesh on eclecticsims. whatever I tried, the mesh didn't show up - only the outfit - even though both f them werein the dl folder. now, It works completely fine having it in the dl folder.
at the same time, I also had some minor trouble with downloaded things not showing recolors, only "default" color - they showed, but when I tried changing color, it didn't work. (maybe it was beecause my dl folder was a bit too heavy with downloads or something...) it corrected the next time I started the game, though.

it might be your graphics in the computer (and not ingame)...

oh, and having default replacements in subfoldes have always worked for me (exept that time)

It looks as if your game is only pulling the textures and part of the mesh. Have you tried to completly delete the package and run the game so the baby only has a nappy. And then reinstalling the same package but with a totally new download and then putting it in your downloads  or default folder . Maybe something went corrupt and just needs to be reset in some sort of way :P

Ah-hah! I looked at my graphics settings and I thought that they weren't turned up all the way. Wow that was stupid of me. Thanks sooo much for the help everyone! I really should of checked the settings without assuming things.

Well I finally got my recolor to work in game, the hat and outfit turned out good, but somehow his arms and legs turned white (that was the outside). How do you get it so that it doesn't color the arms and legs but only the outfit and hat? LOL, I don't usually have trouble recoloring meshes! ;p

You need to save the parts you don't want to show as a transparant colour. I would suggest because you have white in the hat to change the surrounding colour to for eg red and then save the red colour as a transparant..thats if you use irvanview and normal paint. If you are lucky and have psp you only have to make that part transparant. It is also advisable to use the build dxt feature instead of copy and paste. That way your patterns on your outfit won't blur.

Are you sure you don't have anything left? You know that mesh that you used for the hatless outfits, isn't that a loose mesh, that you accidentally left in?

nope. I've not left anything in. here it was the opposite - I forgot to put one in :)
thoughg, I've had a few small troubles with infant meshes. once when I was using one that needed a mesh, it still used the maxis diaper mesh even though I'd put in the mesh I wanted.

Wat you see is not the Default diaper mesh, its the nude mesh, wich means there is still a replacement active.
If im correct this is the replacement windkeeper once relinked.
Wat she did is relink the diaper mesh to the original maxis nude mesh and you still have that one installed.
I think this is your replacement you had installed before you installed my meshes.
When you requested the hat on the nude mesh you showed me lots of recolors, all based on this mesh.
The reason it looks strange is that you prolly took out all the texture replacement files so the original diaper textures got back in the game.
Those diaper textures need the original maxis diaper mesh to fit well.

That will also explain your previous problems with my replacement meshes.
The original diaper mesh has a 3d diaper, it really sticks out.
There were similar problems with the male boxermeshes
The moment peeps used my replacements the original shape of the boxermesh popped up again, alot peeps were so surprised as they totally forgot they installed windkeepers files years ago.
Her files dont include meshes, she simply relinked that boxer mesh to a nude mesh
She did the same with the male teen boxer and Elder

I think I found the problem. I did a search on two other meshes I've had in my game (I don't think any of them were windkeeper's) and found one somewhere it certainly didn't belong. the strange thing is that your meshes have worked in spite of this mesh being there. I didn't find the mesh the last time I searched, though.

There's a very easy explanation for it....
When the game starts it reads all files in alphabetical order, so if my files are on top of the list(the reason i let peeps use the Defaults folder :D)
the game reads those first and will ignore others

Yes, but when I downloaded the recolors the hat didn't show up, so BlooM suggested downloading this on to see what happened.

If the hat doesn't show there's just one explanation, theres another mesh conflicting.
Wat you can try is make a new defaults folder in the sims2 directory(not in the downloadfolder) and put the file in there.
The game will read it first and hopefully will neglect other replacements

you don't need an update to recolor them. as long as you don't try recoloring things that came with FT, it still works. I'm still using the BV version, even though I've got FT. if you go to guest recolors, you'l find a lot of recolors already made :D
