Title: Jump bug problem
Post by: maniac19642003 on December 03, 2007, 02:03:42 am
I'm posting this problem here since I'm using BV to play the game and just encountered it at my vacation home. The only problem is I cant remember how to "trap" the jump bug to get the error log so I can post it here for more help. If someone can tell me what to do to type in for me to trap it then I can get the log file next to I play that lot.

It should be boolproptestingcheatsenabled true :)

I'm new to this.  Obviously.

How do you 'trap' the jump bug?  What do you do after you enter the boolprop?  I'm looking to get a log-in file myself.  Silly game, not doing what I want. ;)

Once you enter the cheat and your game gets the jump bug error like maniac describes, it will automatically happen. You'll see the error box come up with the options to abort, retry or reset, and a logfile will be generated that you can find in your Sims 2 folder. (I'm not at home so I can't tell you the exact path to the logfile, but I'll be happy to look at it and post it when I get home from work tonight).

I just went back in game and got the error log, it happens on all 4 sims in the lot so I'm attaching the one log for a sim plus a pic as well that I took for the error. Any help is very much appreciated.

Thank you, I understand now. :)

I wonder if you are having the same trouble I am maniac?  They jump when a local talks to them, when they are on holiday basically.  I"ll be watching this thread to see if your help, helps me as well. ;)

I haven't talked to any locals yet, I've only had these 4 sims talk to each other and learn the slap dance so far, but hopefully we both get our problems fixed from that bug.

Im guessing from the log here, but when ever Stacy is telling a joke or pass a jesture does the error pop up Mark and do you also have a no annonymos gesture mod installed?

They all jump from telling/listening to jokes in this lot, I just posted her log file. As far as the gesture mods, nope I haven't downloaded any of those in my game.

EDIT: I just ran clean installer to make sure, and I do have one hack here called, antivacationactions, could that do anything like this?

MQ_Computer_Global_Sims_Controller.package can be deleted.  It doesn't work with BV.  Monique is aware of this and is recommending deleting it.  Make sure you have the correct version of Twojeff's Visitor Controller, too.  Pescado's Antivacationactions should be okay.

Thanks for the heads-up ancient, I just got 3 of TJ's updated hacks as well so I'll be able to test them out later and see if my problem still exists or if its gone now. :happy8:

Even after removing that file and updating 3 hacks that I have, I'm still getting the jump bug yet. I have the newest error log here so hopefully something else can be fixed then from this problem since its still happening.

When I had this problem I used Simwardrobe's Hack Conflict Detection Utility - here (http://www.simwardrobe.com/)  It found the conflict in my game excellently.  Perhaps it would work for you.

I use that program myself and I haven't seen any new conflicts other than the ones I've been seeing for awhile that haven't given me any problems before. I actually ran it the other day as well but didn't see anything new pop up. Thanks for the tip tho.

I'm attaching the HCDU file just in case it might also help.

My bad....I missed your custom careers on the previous object error file. Hackers that create custom careers rarely update them to fix errors or ensure compatibility with releases of EPs/SPs.  Unless the creator specifically states BV compatibility, remove the custom careers and give the game another try.

I had my sim quit his job after summoning him on a neighbor's lot and when just playing my vacation lot again, I still get the jump bug after disabling the custom job my sim had, none of the female in that lot have a job, so I'm posting yet another error log to see what might be the problem now since it doesn't appear to be that one career that my sim had. I also disabled some other careers that no one had used yet as well just in case.

I would try removing your custom careers and seeing if that solves the problem. If that's the case, then you'll probably have to go through them bit by bit to isolate the culprit.

I only have one or two more to disable yet Joy for the careers, but I got the rest of them disabled already that I know aren't the problem but I'll have to check on this last one to make sure that I don't have anyone else using it before disabling it.
