Disclaimer for the later pages, since I've gotten a lot of questions: This is a PICTURE topic. It will NOT contain any downloads.

Yes, you will probably see some stuff I haven't uploaded yet, stuff I have uploaded, maybe stuff I won't upload. If it has been uploaded, you'll probably find it in the download section on my site (https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/moonlightdragon/index.php). If not, it probably hasn't been uploaded yet. If I haven't written anything, it could be a work in progress, possibly even an abandoned one (my project folders are a great big mess). I can't promise anything in regards to what will be uploaded and what won't.

Also, I think some of the pictures may be broken (Tinypic and Photobucket broke down, so there are probably a lot of broken pictures...). I fixed some, but have no clue how far I went when fixing it, so there could still be some broken pics here and there.

I usually don't play with maxis sims, but I find strangetown a bit funny. and I often use test-families, to test new custom content or new EPs. most of these pics were from them.

:D hehe... thought I'd post a little taste of a new sims-story I'm making (the other one, not half as good as this is gonna be, is in the link in my signature). It's not ready yet, and I'm not halfway ready with the pics, but... well, see for yourselves...:D

The moon shone through the endless starry sky, letting its cold beams of mirrored sunlight make ghostly shadows on the ground. The trees howled with pain over the bitter, cold wind as it bent the treetops as far as they could go without breaking. Winter was coming. Far away one could hear the wolves prize the moon in a single voice, a howl that went through bone and marrow in an icy shiver. The shadows on the ground moved like they were alive, and stretched towards the lone figure moving around in the darkness. The dark shadow stumbled through the thick layer of withering brown leaves and pine needles, hitting tree trunks as it zigzagged through the woods, in a wave of stunning pain. The figure was holding something - a little basket draped with a thin blanket. Then it stumbled, and fell headfirst down to the ground.
“Can’t … take it … any longer…” It was a woman’s voice. A panicked voice of desperation. She clutched her belly, and screamed – sending a frightened flock of bats tumbling into the sky, fleeing the loud, terrifying wail. The woman slowly heaved herself into a sitting position, still clutching her belly.
“Not…anymore…”
Suddenly she gave out a long bloodcurdling howl, sending the rest of the panicked animals out of the way with their hearts racing. Her scream seemed to go on forever – like she was stuck in an eternity of torture. Then, it all went silent like death itself.

theraven your toddlers are addorable. I love your chinese/japanese family they are beautifull beyond words.:D Shame you have lots of glitches in your game :( Do you have all the patches?

the one about the man was not really a glitch. I dl an eatable bat that made him into a vamp. then I tried another of the specialities of the new dl - that made him into a bat "for ever". but when he next did something, an error happened, and the next thing I know, he's back as a normal vamp, with a bat stuck in front of him. he's been a bit glitchy since that... :D the baby got stuck to him because of the bat, but when I moved the baby to the ground, and deleted the bat, he worked fine again (well, almost... he still smiles like an idiot, though... :D).

just a thought: in that "drop baby"-picture - it actually looks like he's moving the baby using strings...

I love your sims and all of their glitches. They make me laugh!

oh... well, I don't usually read that kind of litterature. I'm mostly into fantasy and such. I've never even heard of the author. :scratch:

I've tried writing fantasy, but nothing turns out good. (except my newest story, I hope. it's got some fantasy, maybe a bit sci-fi, and a lot of crazy ideas mixed up in it :D)

here's a few old photoshopped pictures I made long ago (when I'd just started to learn PS). this was one of my favourite families at the time, and the twins were called Lucy and Leon (guess how I remembered :D).

edit: only the first and fourth pictures are of Lucy and Leon. the second and third are of Isabel and Jason... no wonder I messed up a bit, since they look a lot like each other :D

I've never seen two twins that look so much alike. ^^
(and I've never gotten boy twins. T.T Always two girls, or a boy and a girl)

they turned out so identical that I had to dress the two of them in different colors to know which was which of them :D. my simmies usually get twin boys or boy+girl, though sometimes they get twin girls, too.

once, someone managed to get girl quadruplets :D I was a bit shocked they got only girls. usually there is at least one of the other gender. after another birth, there were 12 girls and only two boys on the lot (parents/adults included - it was for my Wheel Of Time neighbourhood)

got a bit inspired by some scrapbook-pages I found in a contest-thread here, and decided I wanted to try. this is actually the first time I try making a scrapbook-page at all :D

The couple in it are gorgeous together too.  And separately as well!

Oh, I lost my heart to Sarah. She is such a little cutie. How does she climb on the bed??

I think they need logic and/or creativity points. when they are bored, they do it on their own. but watch up for parents, because they tend to lift the child up before they do it.

Im in the middle of converting maxis toddler outfits into infant outfits, and recoloring them. Im making a few new textures also. here is the result>

and my game has a bit too much light, so everything tend to become a bit white in the highlights...:icon9:

Aww, that is adorable!  The yellow maxis dress with flowers is my favorite, but I love the 1st dress better. Great job.

I've not played much with uni lately, but today I did. this is my favourite family there, and sometime before pets came out, I made some of it into a real generation tryout (though with her in that flowery top and him with the alien baby - I  don't know their english names...). now, I've started over with them (at least a little).

they got twins just an hour or so ago in my game. the twins' names are Michael (to the left) and Mona (to the right). they're pretty much identical right now, except for their eyes. Mona has got green eyes after her mother, and Michael has got blue eyes from his father.

as far as I know, multiple poll techs with different skintones is impossible to do. multiple poll techs is possible, and I've got a hack that lets me have five (I think).

well, as I finally managed to write a sequel to Anna's Diary, I had to remake the family. they look pretty much the same, but they've got a new house (or should I say a real house) this time. I've worked a lot with it, and thought I would post Angela's and Brian's room. I'll post pics of the house as soon as I get into the game again.

Angela's room is girlish, in pink and green tones, and starts to look like a teen's room, since she's almost thirteen, and "Not a child anymore" as she says. She's put away most of her toys, but keeps her favourite teddy bears as decoration (or to hug when she misses her mother). She's put her keyboard in her room now, as Brian was complaining too much about her playing. too bad for him, he's got his bedroom wall to wall with Angela.

I think that might be difficult, as I built it with them on the lot. and I used waaay too much CC in it (most pay - or booty). I think most of the furniture came from sims2sisters at TSR, though. the jungle theme came from Cyclonesue, also at TSR. and some sims stories things converted for the original game at MATY. the pics comes from blacky's sims zoo. the wall in Angela's room, I made myself using existing ingame walls and homecrafter (one of my first walls, actually :D).

I might build a new house similar to that one when I'm finished with the storytelling. though, without CC. I tend to use pay stuff, and I hate to go around looking for non-pay stuff that is as good as that. TSR has got a lot of good creators. actually, the only pay stuff I used for the tree house, was the windows/door and rope bridge, (that can be made with maxis stuff) and a useable ladder with animations. hmm... I know there's one at MTS2 too...

i have the same problem theraven, i freaking love your house- so nice to be so able to care and concentrate on the kiddies- i tend to just dump kids stuff in the corridors etc.... *LOL*

well, usually I just make a "grown'up bedroom, a girl bedroom with two beds, a boy bedroom with two beds, and a nursery with 2-4 beds (yes, I love infant/toddler playing :D). I use insim or "maxmotives", so they don't really need to sleep :D. this house is for storytelling, so I did a bit more out of it. I'm going to use those rooms a lot in the story, so I had to have something personally to them, and something that is practical in use. the tree house was really my first try in making rope bridges. ny game tend to lag if I'm using too much CC, too - and in normal gameplay, it's very impractical.

well i think the time and effort you put into it is commendable.

i hate the child stages - i even hate the child stage.. i dont even give them rooms in general till they get to college LOL!

and for your first attempt its soo good. i never have the patience for that sort of stuff.

Oh, okay. I don't have inteen so that makes sense. =) I like the first three life stages a lot, too. Little sims are so adorable. =D

they are default replacements from somewhere at MTS2 I think, and they are by Helaene. the pack is named default0312.package. I can't say for sure where exactly they are, though. I tried finding them again before, but I didn't succeed... though they might also be from helaene's old site - which might explain why I can't find them. I love the eyes myself, and use them constantly.

yup. though I think it was a pay hair. At least 95% of all the hairs I use are either XM, peggy, rose, SAU or raon, so they're usually easy to find.

I have a question: I noticed that you feed the triplets in your pictures in a sitting position. Is there any special chair or anything similar? It looks really cute, and I'd love to have this pose for my own pictures...

it's a combination between a posing hack from MTS2 (http://sumomo.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=272312), and moveobjects/snapobjects.

you leave the baby and a bottle on the floor, then you make the sim use one of the sitting poses from the box, then click on the bottle and choose "feed ...." (name of infant). then the baby and the bottle will fly into the hands of the sim, and s/he will start feeding the baby. you move the sim around using the two cheat codes moveobjects on/off and boolprop snapobjectstogrid true/false

Ah, that's crazy, I never thought of that! I knew the pose was somehow familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on...

I tried the photoshop lighting on some outtakes for the picture perfect contest, and I liked the outcome.

If you put on the light in the right way, it can turn out good - but I've seen some that misuse this type of lighting a lot in their pictures because they really don't know how to use effects to strengthen a picture. too much effects can ruin a picture even though the picture was good from the start. putting on effects lust because one thinks it looks "cool" is not the right thing to do. you have to know when it's enough, when the picture is as good as it can be. I may not be an expert in photoshop - but I usually know when to stop :) and I like to experiment with effects to make it look as natural as possible without overdoing it.

Love the new John!  Have you tried a well facelit pic of John with a black background?
I think since he is pale it would look awesome!

”Time to…. go?” Maggie said, a tear running down her cheek.
“Yes, go. We can’t stay forever, you know. Sooner or later it must end.” Sam touched Maggie’s cheek, drying away the tear.



“Don’t cry, Maggie. I’m here now. Nothing will ever separate us again.” Sam swallowed, almost ready to cry himself.
“But… what happened? You were dead, weren’t you? You died that day in the car crash. When I woke up, they said you were dead. It… it was so horrible!”
Sam took his arm around her. The cold wind from the windows all of a sudden felt warmer – as if it was a summer’s breeze caressing her skin, instead of the bone chilling winter’s gusts she had felt earlier.  
“I’m so sorry I left you, Maggie. But now nothing can separate us again. I promise!”
Tears were running down Maggie’s cheeks in a stream now.
Sam looked her deeply in her eyes. “I love you, Maggie.”
As Sam took Maggie in a tight embrace, Maggie felt like her heart was going crazy. She felt as giddy as the first time she had met Sam. Like the first time they had realized they had fallen in love with each other.
Then, she kissed him for the first time in years.



“I love you too, Sam.”
For a long time, she had felt like nothing could make her happy again. Now, she felt like nothing could make her sad. She could finally be with the one she loved.
Forever.

Jack parked outside the garage, and just knew his mother would go crazy. She hated when he came home late, and even though he wasn’t a teenager anymore his mom still freaked out. Why couldn’t she realize that he was twenty-six? He and Kate were just living there until their apartment was finished.



Kate was probably sleeping already, taking care of her needs now that her belly was getting huge. In only two months or so, he would become a father! It was still hard to believe. They had already decided the names – Mary-Ann if it was a girl, and Theo if it was a boy.
Jack stumbled through the snow, wondering why his mother hadn’t gotten it away yet. She had probably decided it was his job to do it, and had left it for him.

When he finally reached the door, he had real troubles unlocking it. The cold had made his fingers feel like frozen hot dogs, and he had almost lost the sense in them.  



He finally got in though – but wondered if he should have stayed outside instead. The hallway was almost colder than the wind outside!
“Probably a broken window or something,” he muttered to himself. The kids in the neighbourhood loved throwing snowballs on people’s windows in the winter, so it was not the first time it had happened. Jack checked the living room. But no. all the windows were whole. The windows in the kitchen were whole, too. He also stuck his nose up the stairs, but since it felt warmer up there, the cold had to come from downstairs. When he went past his mother’s bedroom though, a gust of icy wind met his face. He shivered, and stared at the door. It was not quite closed, and made slamming noises as it hit the door frame. He opened it, and was greeted with a freezing blast of air.
“Honestly, who leaves the windows open in the middle of the winter?” Jack muttered to himself, as he went over to the first window. He had to struggle with it to get it closed, since the wind was getting stronger. But finally, he managed to close it. He turned towards the window nearest the bed. His mother wasn’t sleeping in it, though the bedcovers were jumbled up. Maybe she was on the toilet or something? She hadn’t said anything about going out herself, at least.
Jack went to close the window – but stumbled over something halfway there. He looked down, and froze in pure shock while goose bumps made the hairs on his back rise. Jack grabbed the edge of the bed frame to support himself, feeling like he was about to throw up.
There, right in front of him - glassy eyes staring up at nothing - was his mother.
He was unable to take his eyes away from her.
This couldn’t be true. His mother. Dead.



“Jack, was that you?” Kate said. Jack could hear her footsteps in the stairs.
“Yes,” was all he managed to say, his voice not working correctly. He slid down on the floor, unable to hold himself up any longer without fainting.
Kate showed up in the doorway. “Why is it so cold here?” she shivered, and looked down at Jack.
“Why are you sitting there, Jack? And…” She gaped with shock when she saw Maggie.
"What's happened?" she said, and bent down to Jack, putting her arm around him.
"I-I don't know. I found her like this. I-I think she is..." he swallowed. He just didn't manage to say the word 'dead'.
“I-I’ll go call an ambulance,” Kate said, standing up and disappearing out of the room again.
 
Kate coming in made Jack's head work again, and the state of shock that had gripped him before lessened. He looked around in the room. His mother wouldn’t have left the windows open. There had to be another reason for them to be open. A thief? No. He would’ve broken the windows. Then, Jack spotted a glass of sleeping pills standing on the night table. He grabbed it. He hadn’t even known his mother was using pills like that.
‘Maximum dose is 1-2 pills every 24 hour’ he read on the doctor’s note behind it. The glass was empty. Had she taken an overdose? No, she wouldn’t have done that. Or… would she?
He studied her face. For some strange reason, she looked happy. A smile was spread all over her face, and she looked peaceful. A person trying to kill themselves don't smile. They just don't!
No. She couldn’t have done it. Wouldn’t have done it. She was going to be a grandmother, for crying out loud! She had been looking forward to it ever since Kate had announced she was pregnant.
No, there had to be another reason.
Jack knew his mother had had a lot of pains since the car crash, and that she had had troubles sleeping afterwards. He remembered that day as clearly as like it had been only yesterday.
It had been a rainy Monday afternoon, three years ago, when the doorbell had called.
Jack had opened the door thinking it had to be Kate coming back from the grocery store, forgetting her keys for what seemed like the billionth time.
But it was not.
“I’m police officer Wayne Gordon. Are you Jack Hayden?” said a stern voice belonging to a police officer.


“Yes, I am. Is there something wrong?” Jack said, afraid to hear the answer.
“I’m sorry to say that your mother and father have been in a car accident. They’ve been taken to the city hospital. I can take you down there in my car if you want.”
The next hours had went away in a haze for Jack. The police officer had left him in the waiting room, and couldn’t say anything more about the situation. Apparently, both his parents were badly hurt, and their condition was critical for both of them. Jack's head had felt like it was full of fog. He remembered Kate running towards him and hugging him. Trying to comfort him. Telling him that everything would be OK.
Three hours later, a doctor had come out.
“I’m very sorry to say this, but I’m afraid we couldn’t save your father’s life. His injuries were too large, and nothing could be done. We’re still working on your mother. She’s stabile right now, but she has gotten a back injury that will probably give her a lot of pains in the future. She’s in the ICU. I can take you there now if you want.”
Maggie’s entire upper body had been fastened in a device that hindered movement, and both her legs had been plastered. She had had wires and tubes going in and out of her body, and Jack could remember the sounds of beeping machines that were overseeing the functions of Maggie's inner organs and her brain. A machine had been helping her breathe, since both her lungs had collapsed in the accident. Seeing his mother like that had been one of Jack’s worst nightmares.
It had taken almost two years for his mother to be able to walk again - mostly because of the deep sorrow she had felt for loosing Sam. She had just laid there in the bed, feeling sorry for herself. The first few months all she had wanted to do, was to die. To be with Sam again.
Maggie had looked so beautiful before, when Sam was alive. Jack had always though that his mother had been the most beautiful woman on earth. But after hearing her husband had died, she had slowly turned into just a mere ghost of that woman. Hollow eyes, matte hair - and the flame of life in her eyes seemed to have dimmed to a meer spark. Just recently - around when Kate announced the pregnancy - Maggie had seemed to come alive again. But only just.
Jack knew his mother had loved Sam more than anything else. He had seen it in his mother’s eyes every time she had talked about him. Jack knew about the strong love that had been between them. Sam had been missing from Maggie's life, and couldn’t be brought back - just like her happiness couldn’t have been brought back entirely either.
But now... now they were finally back together.  

When Kate came back, she motioned for Jack to get up from the floor. She threw a short look at Maggie, and shivered. She led Jack into the living room, and sat him down in a chair, putting her arms around him.  
Not long after they heard sirens outside. Kate opened the door, and followed the paramedics into Maggie’s bedroom. Jack lurked in the background – still unable to think clearly, and still feeling nauseous. In the end, he slumped down on the floor, head in his hands and started crying.
“Jack found her like that when he came home,” Kate said to the peramedics, indicating Maggie. She sat down beside Jack and took her arm around him, trying to comfort him - just like she had done the time before.
“She’s very cold,” one of the paramedics said, touching Maggie’s forehead.
“Both... both the windows were open when I found her,” Jack said, trying to hold back the tears long enough to speak. “I-I think they had been open for awhile.”



“I can’t say for sure, but by the looks of it, she’s been dead for hours,” the paramedic said. “There’s nothing we can do except taking her body to the hospital. I'm sorry.”
Jack nodded. He hadn’t really thought there was any hope for Maggie. Not now, when she had finally met Sam again.

“It looks like your mother died of a heart attack, right after taking the sleeping pills. They probably made her dozy, so that she didn’t realise what was happening. And sleeping pills as strong as these can also often make the person hallucinate.” The doctor put his hand on Jack’s shoulder. It was the same doctor that had told Jack that he had lost his father.
“I’m really sorry. It seems that every time we meet, I only have bad news.”
“It almost feels that way, too,” Jack said, unsure of anything else to say as he dried away a tear from the corner of his eye.

They held the funeral about a week later. It was a beautiful ceremony. Jack said a few words about both Maggie and Sam, because talking about his mother without mentioning his father felt wrong. They were meant to be together, and now were finally joined in each others arms – at least he hoped so.

Two months later, a beautiful girl - that they gave the name Megan – was born. She had blonde hair like her grandmother, and she had stunningly blue eyes - just like her grandfather had had.

It's the spectral witch (one of the spells good witches can do - she's really supposed to clean the house, but seemed "magically" attracted to the piano instead  :rolleyes:).

Haha, I just saw the 2nd version of the demon baby, that's so weird!

Neglecting my school work (I'm not far from done, anyway), I've made another infant costume - a "conversion" of the witch outfits. They looked quite unisex (since wizards wear robes), so I didn't bother making both girl and boy versions (though I did make several recolors, of course...  :cool:). The wand is a bit tricky when it comes to the animations, so I did make a version without it, too.
(If anyone wonders - base dress mesh by Bloom; bow mesh and some texture from the original maxis witch outfit; texture under the coat from one of the FFS stuff pack child dress, rest of the mesh and texture parts by me).

I love them!

Also, for the little devils angels, and butterflys, maybe they should have a red/white/purple suit on so if it's just as a costume they don't freeze?

I'm thinking about putting the demon costume on the "naked" mesh (I've been struggling getting the butt crack straightened out), angel on the dress mesh, and butterfly on the blanket mesh :)

Apartment Life is an awesome expansion pack. I think it's my favorite, that, or OFB. I like OFB too.  :p

I used to play with OFB and I never saw a use for it back when I was 11, but now I do, ugh.

My favourites are AL and FT. Seasons, too - but the weather is starting to annoy me. It always starts raining on any of my lots, just a few sim hours after starting. Annoying when taking pictures. NL, too - cars, and lots of fun animations :D. Quite honestly, I like parts about all the EP's and SP's. Happy to say I have them all :D

*Mutters "No fair" under breath* I love FT, because obviously there is  a whole lot you can do, no one is as boring as the pre-FT sims were in reall life... I hope! I love all except pets that  I have played before.

Huh?  I was wayy off then.... I was about to guess that you had the diaper mesh on them still in this pic.... oops.

I've actually "known" this was possible for a long while. I just never figured out how, until I learned to extract meshes a few days ago.

You see - there are in fact two infant meshes that can be changed ingame: the diaper, and the naked mesh (for diaper change and bathing). The baby girl in the dress is using a regular diaper override, the two in swimming suits are using the special "naked" override mesh, combined with a skintone changer (I so need to learn how to make my own skintone changers... I just recolor the textures  :-\) and the insim wardrobe adjuster (changing their outfit to naked).

I'll try to figure out if it's possible to add a texture to the naked mesh, but for some reason I doubt it... Though, it's brilliant together with skintone changers, since with this you can ALSO use a regular infant override (or another mesh, for even more combos) :D
(Only possible problems are of course that the baby will wear that outfit/mesh when bathing or changing diaper. And you'll also need a blur remover... :-\)

I was never really happy with the preemie mesh I made earlier. Now I've upgraded them - to the point where they can't get much better.

The mesh is the original baby mesh (!), with parts from my infant hospital outfit. Recoloring the skin is a LOT easier (can use extracted skin tone files and eye colors to recolor, with easy drag-and-drop function), mesh parts instead of textures (it's also possible to "delete" any of the mesh parts through the texture, including the diaper), and the smaller versions are slaves to the biggest original mesh, so they draw textures from it :D

I might have to use some other skintones for the downloadable versions, though. I'm using Ephemera's skintones, and I'm not wuite sure about the creator's policy. Might have to use the louis skintones, or just the original maxis instead...

Though, the skintones are very easy to recolor (anyone who knows how to recolor furniture, extract skintone files with SimPE or bodyshop, and use click-and-drag in photoshop/gimp can do it), so it's not a big deal  :-\

If you can't use those hopefully you can use luis, all my sims have varied versions of them because they are the only ones I know of with hair and nosetubes for babies so far. ;)

That was exactly what I meant, they are phenomenal, and I notice you have also included a plain diaper with/without hat the is a "healthy" baby, so I don't have to use the creepy stiff one anymore!  :D

To be honest, I'm not very fond of that one either (at least not now when I've got these ;D). The face on that one is creepy, due to the fact that the skin texture is the original 512 pxl body skin, including the tiny face on it, plus that the smoothing on the mesh is bad. Mine has a 1024 pxl with all the baby texture files included. Bigger files, but better ingame result. Plus, mine are floor height, so it's easier to pose them around.  ;D

Exactly, no offense to the creator but there was certainly room for improovement, and you fixed it right up!  :D

Another SimPE thing learned - how to unlock clothing (I thought it was really hard, but in fact it was very easy) :)
I really wanted the teen labcoats and ambulance outfits unlocked, and found a few other outfits while I was at it - like the BV ninja costume :D


plus I wanted to complete the hospital wear collection - and made labcoat costumes for children and toddlers, plus scrubs for toddlers


All because that &%¤/&%¤ towel mesh I tried to make came out looking horrible...  :'(

While photoshooting for the new LFB chapter, I noticed a purple blinking blob moving over the screen. Don't really know what happened (must have been a memory problem of some sort), but this is in fact the same sim. First she was that purple/black blob, and then suddenly went back to normal, and walked out of the lot. Happened to a few other sims, too.

The problems has to do with the weather, I think. More spesifically, the snow. I usually keep the season at springtime/summer, leaving weather off (clear sky) until I need weather in a picture. The purple-flashing problem started when I used weather again. Works fine for a while, until the computer runs out of memory. Everything covered in snow, plus sometimes sims and animals, starts flashing purple. Right now only thing that works is to go out of the game, and back in.  :-\

May have to turn off some of the graphics (like reflections).  I know my laptop always slowed down significally when I put that on. Possible also turn off the neighbor view when not taking pics outside (which I usually leave off, in any case).

Maybe I should consider getting another memory card. Not sure if it will help, but could be worth a try. If I put the game down while playing, it is often already at 3GB memory use, most likely much more when actually playing.

With mine I just had a bad graphics card :P


That sure sounds like a problem... hmm... maybe another memory card might work?

My computer is quite new, graphics card one of the best inside what I could afford. Most likely it's just a combination of Vista problems, too many downloads, and me putting all settings on high, thinking the memory card(s) can deal with it...  :-\

I think that'd be a bit on the expensive side. If I were you, I'd upgrade to Windows 7, preferably a 64-bit version. Memory's pretty cheap in the computer world, but 8-GB wouldn't help if you OS is horrible at handling the available memory. An upgrade from Vista would cost around $120. Not to bad of an investment, I thought at first. (At least, Here in the US)

I originally planned on upgrading BECAUSE of memory. Sometimes, I could have enough memory to save screenshots and they just end up blank. (ESP. on memory munching games like the sims.) But as soon as I upgraded, Windows 7 handled the 3GB of memory on my system SO well. That instead of having to close everything except the sims and Infranview, I could now run Firefox, Sims 2, Infranview, GIMP, MSN, and tons of documents windows at the same time. I even ADDED a second monitor without problems.

That sounds like it'd help you a lot too huh?

LOL. The animations are funny! But when weird stuff like that happens it usually because the sim is looking at someone else and then thinks of a relative. Still. It's pretty awkward. :D

She is married to Peter, and as far as i know, the ingame attraction between them is pretty high, relationship on 100, and even BFF's. That picture was in fact taken after a few... uhm... hot(ter than usual) scenes. And no, she did not think of Peter first....  :-\

Though I have to admit that version of Tony isn't really a family member. I've got several versions of all the kids (different ages), and they don't live on that lot (only the original toddler Erica and child Tony, since I used them for the original contest). It's easier to import the sims I need for a scene, instead of having about 20 sims on one lot.
But it still feels weird. Besides, she doesn't even know him, and hasn't really "met" him ingame. He just happened to walk by, and she threw off that bubble (and the goofy smile).

Haha. I do the same thing. I got different ages of my sims (mainly the angel ones for kicks) and I summon them when I want too.
Doesn't stop me from overloading lots for the heck of it though...  :D

Bernie is just a test sim, from back when I installed FT and wanted to test out everything new. I made a new lot, and since then it has been my test lot for my stuff and other downloads I'm unsure of (like new hacks and such). They're also the victims of my "let's see what happens if we turn auto on, and sit back watching". Usually they just stand there, doing nothing. until they start screaming. They don't have the wits to even make food...

Upload, when? I'm not kidding I am in love with it all.

The witch default I used worked pretty fast, you just have to change appearence or invite the witches over a couple times for it to take effect. Changing appearence does the trick, so just use the sim blender or something.

I just put them up at my site. I'll see if I can do some boy coats when I get the time, but I never seem to find any patterns perfect for boys...  maybe they'll just end up like the knitted ones :-\

Found a much better all-age bandana mesh for the boys, too (turned out it has been in my downloads folder for ages...  2DOH). Too bad it has a neck gap (peggy's fault - not mine!). Probably some bone assignments done bad, which should not be too hard to fix (not the first time, Peggy...). But the colors turned out ok :). Some patterned, and some whole colors (to match the scrubs clothing).

I really like that mesh, and since the bandana looks good both with/without the hair AND is for all ages, it's much better than the one I originally thought to use (the converted gypsy mesh (http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=393426) at MTS2, which is adult only  :-\)

*sigh* this is really starting to annoy me... I put down the game, edited some pics in PS, and put up the game again. And everything except floors and walls was flashing purple. It even happened to maxis stuff and all the neighborhood deco. I was not even using weather (that's when it usually happens).
However, it did get back to normal when I put down the game, waited a few minutes, and put it back up again.

I guess it's about time to sort out my Downloads folder...

wow thats crazy. I've heard about CC flashing blue and purple before, but never maxix stuff. I never seen so much purple in the game. O_O
That really sucks, I hope you find the problem.

I know it's the memory. Something about when the computer gets too little memory, it dumps some of it, like the memory reading meshes or effects, to get more for the task it's currently working with. This causes things to flash purple ingame. When it happens, I sometimes have to restart the game if it gets too bad, but not always. It's working now.

Blue usually means missing mesh. Purple means memory trouble. I tend to get purple snow, if my computer is moody :-\

You must ask A LOT from your game, even with me going in and out of the game constantly, it still doesn't do that.

Stage lots, yes. One for the school, one for their home, one for the hospital and so on. That's the hospital. The previous hospital was even more a stage lot, since each room only had three walls. I got tired of trying to make everything look similar from time to time, so I fixed up the hospital lot I made, and started using it when Lily got sick (chapter 30).

I've got somewhere between 15 and 20 GB of downloads (some of the files are archives and pictures), most graphics on full (no shadows).

It usually don't happen unless I let it snow for too long, and it happens quite randomly. Sometimes it worsen, some things go purple, then some more, and it continues until the entire lot is flashing. Or it gets better if I turn off something, or delete high poly objects. It doesn't happen every time I play, though.

I like the book thing personally. When they pull it out it looks pretty cool. If I did that in real life, I'd run into people and things.
If you don't want it to happen make them take shorter "go here" orders. If you DO want it to happen, make them take a walk half way across the lot, that usually does it.  :p
I like the idles, but there's not a hack (to my knowledge) that makes the accessories pop up also.

I know about the hack. But sometimes I actually want them to do the idles... And I just wanted them out of the room, really. Just found it funny both of them took out books  ;D

I can actually read and walk at the same time, though none of them happens very effectively...

The actual fireworks is ingame, though it's photoshopped onto the other picture. It didn't go high enough to be visible through the window. I had one of the doctors do it on the roof (as you can see from the picture, he got burned the first time. If I'm not mistaken, that is actually the same "actor" I used for "Dr Morrison" - you know, the grumpy one from ch.38... 1nuts) ;D

Christmas/holiday SP (it's in both the 2005 and 06 version. I got the 06 version on sale, a few years after buying the 05 version together with the basegame, since I just adore those Christmas outfits that did not follow the 05 version...).

I've tried to take pictures of my Sims and the same thing happened to the legs. It always annoyed me so bad because I loved the poses.... And the crash too.... Oy, Sims, you're taking a lot out of me! Regardless of annoyances with that game that I can't get rid of, I always love your pictures, even these ones here  ;D

I had the same leg trouble in ch.11, with Jenna's mom. took some pictures, and then realized her pants weren't compatible with the posebox at MTS2... Tried to change pants, but found it difficult, so I just worked around the problem as best as I could...

I never noticed, and I probably never would have.  :D

Didn't really like the original mesh. Too... simple. And I've always thought it looked unfinished, especially since it didn't have straps... And the colors didn't look right, either. Now it match another mask I've got :D

For now it overrides the original mesh/recolor. Didn't find it neccessary to make an entirely new accessory when I wanted to change it, anyway...

To be perfectly honest, I don't even know what a polycount is... :rolleyes:

To put it simply, a mesh is built up of polygons (square, flat shapes). They're also called Faces/triangles - since each polygon has two triangles in them. Counting in faces doubles the polycount (2000 polys = 4000 faces).

The more polys an object has, the more memory the computer will need to show it (lighting, textures, shadows, and all graphic settings affect this too). Bodymeshes (clothing) in sims usually has about 2000-5000 faces when they're considered to have OK polycount. Cars are usually around 10-20 000, and so on.

For more realistic looking 3D graphics (ranging from my simple student film to more advanced 3D graphics like Shrek or Avatar), polycounts on characters usually go from 100 000 to several million, depending on the quality and detail (and whether or not you've got a renderfarm and 400 co-workers with you to get the movie done  :-\)

Castaway doesn't look too different from the actual game.
It's just less vampiric to computers I guess. Because I don't see much of a difference from your pictures.  :D

The two last pics are from the story camera, while the first is from gameplay. And yes, with everything upped, it looks much the same - but it's faster, since I don't have much CC for it. Just some defaults I can't play without, plus some hairs. 

I just installed Sims 3, and the graphics disappoint me... With ALL graphics upped on both, sims 2 still looks better, with less edgy graphics...

CS looks much the same as Sims 2, but I do like the added features :D

So far, Sims 2 is still my favorite, and will probably still be my only resource for story pictures.
I suspect Sims 3 will be used mostly for the gameplay. Babies and toddlers just aren't cute, which is bad, because they're my favorite ages...  
CS will be used mainly for gameplay, but also for gameplay pictures.

I really like sims 2, and am afraid to get sims 3 because to me they look like play dough...

I always feel a bit bad when I go around requesting stuff, so since there were some more conversions I've wanted for some time, I decided it was about time to finally learn the how-to.

After hours upon hours (that particular timerate wasn't planned... but since I was distracted by something shiny and new that just wouldn't add up, I forgot the time entirely) of ignoring my schoolwork, these two outfits came to be. Conversions of the hidden scrubs mesh, and the BV female towel. Still a couple of things to work out with the towel, but so far, so good...
