the only thing to back your downloads up is get a cd and burn them on there OR you can just move your downloads folder onto your desktop..

Woah! I've never seen anything quite like that before! My first instinct is to suggest that you try updating the driver for your video card, and also make sure that the card you have is compatible. Desktop and Laptop computers often have different types of videocards (laptops usually dont have ones optimal for gaming). If you can rule out video card or driver issues, I would suggest backing up your game as Me2 suggested and reinstall.

You also might want to make sure your laptop isn't overheating, and that you still have enough available memory while the game is running.  Had this happen to me once, and it scared the crap out of me... :tongue6:  Luckily, a reboot of the computer and updating my video drivers helped a ton.

To find out what video card you have, go to
Start > Run
Type "dxdiag" (no quotes) and hit enter
If it gives you a Yes/No prompt, say no. Go to the Display tab and look at the manufacturer and model of the card.
If the manufacturer is NVIDIA go here (http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us).
If the manufacturer is ATI RADEON go here (http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html).

At either site you should be able to select model type, operating system, etc to choose the right driver to download. If you are unsure of your OS, you can right click on My Computer and choose Properties. On the General tab it is listed under System. If it doesn't specify x64, yours is x32 edition. Once you have downloaded the driver, you should be able to double click the file to execute it and it will install.
