Sheesh... too close a call.  I wish they would've sent more notice than just packing up shop and leaving like that... but then again, I haven't been back to the site in two weeks, so I don't have much of an idea if they had a "we're moving" message up or not.  :dontknow:

(Haven't really been back there longer than that now that I think about it... they haven't really been coming out with normal "everyday" hairstyles recently, but the ornate ones that are up there are pretty interesting.  I'd just rather have my plain ol' regular hairstyles at the moment, but I can see they might be useful in the future.  )

I went to the website and on their forum (at the very top) it says this:

Quote
XM Sims is NOT closing. Our server is been hacking, and we are waiting the reply from hosting master. The temporary access is http://www.xmsims.net. If anyone know a good server, please give us a linkage.

I can relate to how frustrating it is for something like this to happen. It's even MORE frustrating when people don't even read it and post to let them know over and over again. Oy...

:smile bi:  Gee, seems like Kay's getting a lot of compliments lately.    Thanks, J00wish.  ;)

So it wasn't an "official" move... that's even more comforting.  Now everyone can disregard my above displeasure for them disappearing like that.  ;)

I was just thinking "hack attempt" when I went back in the link and tried clicking their homepage button, only to be taken back to that weird page.  :?  That's really cruddy work from whomever did that.  Sad that it had to happen to such a good site, though... :(

Sorry Tenshii I should have been more specific instead of just plop have a link. lol What's going in is their page is being hijacked. When some people clicked on their link they were getting hijacked to a different page. I never got hijacked so I didn't know about the problem except through the guestbook. Which is a good time to post a couple links.

Tip from My Personal Security:
"Programs and Services on your PC are listening for data on Open Ports?" - Open Task Manager - Processes Tab - View - Select Columns - check PID (Process Identifier) - OK. Click Start - Run - type cmd - press ENTER. "Now type netstat -ano to list the ports your system is listening to, along with the PID of the program or service that's listening. Match the PID to the processes listed in Task Manager to see which programs are listening to which port. If something looks suspicious, a Web search should help easily identify the culprit".

Awwww! Don't apologize! I admire how much you help around here. You just seem to know how to find so many things! I'm just glad I'm able to slip in some help here and there. *grins*

Your all very welcome and thank you JOOwish. I try to help when I can because I remember the new feeling and not being able to find things or figure things out. I'll admit when I'm looking for things or answers, I learn myself too some new things. Plus, I find plenty of new goodies for me too. ;) That's why I'm sitting at 4 gigs now going look at this mess and with freetime just days away. lol

I also got surprised when I got to the site and didn't find it, but fortunately, I solved my problem at this forum. Thanks to all.
