Title: What is the most surprising thing that your Sims have ever done?
Post by: MaryH on February 17, 2008, 05:31:46 pm
The title says it all.
I'll start off: Benjamin Long, who was a townie in my game, became a loving, devoted family man to his wife, Ivy,who is also an converted townie. They have 3 children. The stereotypical family with ups and downs, but very happy.
After I installed NL, I found out that he wanted to be a vampire! Honest to god, that has never happened to any of my simmies, and so I obliged him.
He is very happy as a vampire, has bitten Marsha Bruenig, and has made friends with one of the grand vampires in town.
That is very strange and startling to me..because most of the simmies have a interest in vampires, or not-or an outright fear of becoming one. Benjamin did an about face and threw my game off for a few moments.
Has anything unusual like this happened in your game? Has your simmie completely turned into something you didn't expect, or wanted something that you had no idea they wanted?

Oh yes, mostly in my case since starting to play Strangetown (properly, I mean :P), in particular the Grunts, since my story's focussed mainly on them.

Apparently Tank's a sod in other people's games, but in mine he's a darling :love2: That negative relationship he had with Ripp got fixed with no intervention from me - the two brothers were hugging and kissing each other, chatting and getting on pretty well from that alone.

Meanwhile, their two-nice-point, want-to-fight-everyone father has been going around trying to hug everybody! :oogle: Even Ripp, although probably owing to their score (and maybe memories?), the kid keeps rejecting him, thus driving their relationship down even more. Those two just won't get on ;) Weird about Buzz though - he makes a pretty good father!

I have this happen all the time. I had a teen Sim that got to level three in mechanical skills and decided she could fix anything all on her own. Wouldn't wait for anyone to call the repair people. I loved that Sim she kept me laughing. I had to tail her around every waking minute, I was afraid she was going to get killed. Once she was upstair playing a Sim game and I thought ok she's safe nothing is broken. I went downstairs to check on her new little brother. Wasn't even 5 minutes later here she comes all fried and just walking around like nothing is wrong. I don't know how she survived, that was the norm with her. lol

Then I had a Sim that wanted to be a werewolf. His wife was was petrified of everything I think. So, I tried to keep the wolves away. Wouldn't let him go outside if they were there. I don't know how he managed to do it...I think when I was busy with her taking care of the baby. But all of a sudden she started crying and wringing her hands. I went and checked on him, sure enough he got bit. I never got to see him as a werewolf though/behaving as a Werewolf for long. I went and changed him back as soon as I caught it. Even though I wanted to see a Werewolf in my game. His wife? She never did stop wringing her hands and sobbing. I tried moving them, everything I could think to do. Drove me bonkers I hated playing that family after that. So I took some time and played just them till they became elders and died just to get rid of them.

I think after playing for 4 yrs, nothing really doesn't surprise me much.  I am glad to see this thread. I had a little shock when I finally saw a sim sponge bath, without any cheats or direction by me.

You know when sims follow their spouses around, like while one is in the bathroom bathing, then the other sim want to bath, even if their hygiene is 1/16th of the way down. LOL, the sponge bathing sim was directed by me to go use the bathroom and take a bath. Her hubby decides he wants to bath at that time and that action cannot be filled by the wife. I heard the swipe sound when the spin to change clothes, I saw a nude sim taking a sponge bath. I was so tickled, especially when the family has more than one bath and she wouldn't not leave, just stood there and took care of business.

Every now and then one of my heavily pregnant sims will stand up and place her hands on the small of her back, close her eyes and stretch and groan. As if to say, 'Oh my god, my back is killing me, this baby is getting so heavy!' Then sometimes after she's rubbed her back, she looks at me and waves to get attention, 'Can't you see I'm miserable here? Let me have the baby soon!' I thought it was a nice touch to the game, but they always do it by themselves and I have no idea how to make them do it. It's really cool to see though.

Not sure if this fits in the category of "surpising" things that sims do, but there's a specific sim in my old neighborhood who keeps scratching her armpits.

ALL THE TIME.

She has enough neatness points to not justify her acting like a total slob with every given chance, so I am wondering if there's similar things unique to sims that make them so special and adorable, if they are random or determined by personality points.

Caught in the act... again.

lol@Succy pictures. I've never had a female sim do that before. The guys do it all the time expecially the teens. Drives me bonkers it's like what's wrong with you now? No you don't stink you had your once a year shower now put your arm down.

Lewis: I've never seen a Sim sponge bathe. :( I've read they'll go the bathroom in the bush also, but I've never seen that or the flour baby.

Oh, I've seen the flour sack baby, the globe head, and even had a couple of the fortune sims completely break down and start begging on the street! That one really got me-Mortimer Goth standing there with a sign printed with the simoleon sign (no joke!) and a tin cup begging for money! Hysterical!

If a romance sim has an aspirational break down, they'll start dancing with a broom.

Family is flour sack child.

Fortune is begging on the street.

Popularity is talking to a cardboard cup with a face drawn on it and arms glued to it.

I can't remember Knowledge. -EDIT It's Professer von Ball learning. A Soccer Ball With a Chalk Board. Thanks Sadie79!

I've Never Gotten a Pleasure Breakdown. -EDIT It's Lampshade With Face Drawn on it on Sim's head. Thanks Sadie79!

And a Grilled Cheese one is they start eating a grilled cheese drawn on the back of a piece of cardboard.

LOL @ aspiration failures  From what I gather, knowledge is "learning from Professor Von Ball" - a football (soccer) wearing a mortarboard :D I've seen a picture, not had it happen myself. Pleasure = lampshade, maybe? I know the lampshade animation's under Nightlife on one of the boxes of tricks I own ;)

I've seen sponge bathing before. That does annoy me about the bathroom, where all the family members with even the slightest green-yellow hygiene score will flock to the same place for a bubble bath

Don't suppose there's a non-auto hugging hack out there somewhere? Buzz is starting to get on my nerves with that fixation of his... novel way to make enemies, that's for sure!

I had an elder, she got a makeover she didn't like,,then she would look at me and pee on the floor.
The general(Buzz?)usualy lectured the shower and potatochips bags.
A very nice ladysim but very shy had long conversations with the kitchen furnitures.Especialy with the fridge, but the counters and the trash thing got atention too, lol. She wouldn't talk to people, when she had guests she went to the kitchen and joked with the fridge, her best friend. Her husband was very understanding. When I got in Echos vegetables(this is very long ago) she became friend with the corn.I believe the corn was very funny because it made her laugh histericaly, lol.

I had a suicidal child sim. No, not kidding. He was toasting marshmallows and decided it would be a neat trick to walk into the fire and burn.

These just get weirder and weirder :oogle: Never known of a sim talking with the furniture! How'd that happen?

Yes, Buzz is the General - his behaviour in your game sounds more appropriate ;) He surprised me earlier, actually - playing punch-you-punch-me with Tank (given how serious they both are, that in itself was pretty strange). Note that this is Tank he's playing with, not Ripp whom he hates, yet he gave him a nasty whack while they were playing. For some reason Tank got pissed and stormed off... (I would too if my Dad smacked me like that)

That one with the child and the fire sounds pretty scary! Makes me a little paranoid about having bonfires :pale:

It only happened once, thankfully. Another weird thing; I had an elderly sim who would wake up at 2 am feeling lonely and go into his teenage grandson's room, wake him up and start chatting, ignoring the grandson's temper tantrum about how tired he was. He did this every night until he died.

Quirky sims.

I just finished off quite the odd sim. She was glitched up or something. But I deleted a puddle from buy mode (I had MoveObjects On) and every day until she died. She would go there every 7-8 hours and cry for ten minutes over the delted puddle. Annoying as hell...

I had made a self sim of me as well as sims of people I know. One of whom is a guy I tend to have a fiery relationship with.  Okay.  We fight like cats and dogs.  I made his sim just like him personality wise and mine just like me.  And in the game my sim and his sim QUICKLY fell in love.  Which bugged the hell out of me for some reason.  One night when I was playing, now mind you I usally work on have them not interact because of their romance for each other, they both wanted to slow dance.  I thought what the heck.  My sim had sucky dance skills so I thought she'd step on his feet and get him mad.  He took her hand and TWIRLED her all romanctically before taking her in his arms to dance.  I've never seen Sims twirl their dance partners.  Not before and not since!

And I used to have a couple who autonomously woohooed to celebrate events like a child growing up to the next age stage.  So needless to say because of their "celebrating" they wound up with LOTS of reasons to celebrate.  By the time they passed away, they had parented 38 children.

On my old laptop I had a famly where their son went to college, got engaged to a maxis sim, but she really bugged me so before he left college to go back to his house he broke up with her. When he got home he met his neighbour that had moved in while he was away, and they soon fell in love, she moved in and they were engaged to be married. So the wedding was going great it was a roof raiser. And the next thing I know, the ex has walked into the backgarden and shes shouting at him...and Im trying to keep everyone happy and she just wouldnt stop. Then the bride (who by now is very pissed off) attacks the ex, wins and the ex leaves...the party ends in a disaster...and the bride wont stop crying...her husband tried to keep her happy but it was horrible!!...So now when one of my sims get married and their ex decides to come along...I quickly delete them...
I love all your stories...its weird how the game works sometimes.

rofl These are some great stories everyone is sharing. I've never seen the Sims make friends with their refrigerators...lol

PS: Now I wanna see my Sims sponge bathe. I can't believe I haven't had an aspiration break down with all my Sims. I haven't seen any of these things. The only one I knew about from the video was the flour sack baby and the person on a popcicle stick. But I didn't care if I saw that one. At one time I had over 200 Sims in my game. Dag gone Family Sims, alway looking at me with those sad eyes, just one more I promise. ;)

omfg, lol.  I'm reading all of this during my lunchbreak, and I'm dying over here!

This was, by far, the best:  I had an elder, she got a makeover she didn't like,,then she would look at me and pee on the floor.

omg...I laughed for 4 minutes straight, thank God I wasn't drinking anything, I would have choked!

As far as scratching underneath the armpit, the sim version of one of my ex's used to do that, and I did a little experiment, and made another sim the same sign as him (capricorn) and she did it too.  Never seen any other signs do it, but there might be another?  Could it be zodiac reasons?

I doubt it; Ripp's Sag, and he does it a lot, but then he has one neat point... as well as one active. Could it be an active thing as well? (I notice some Libras do that too, btw.)

ROTFLMAO! I was playing the other day and one of my sim fellows decided to try fixing the tv. I decided to let him do it, even though his mechanical skill is nil, and sure enough, he got eletrocuted. After he stopped staggering around, he looked at me clapped his hands, cheered and did that happy 'fist pump' action sims do when they do something fun. I was laughing too hard to take a picture.

My sims are SO the best. I love my quirky game.

hehehehe Don't you love that! They're always so proud. Standing there all charred. Half nekkid. Their hair standing on end, and they're like look at me, look at me! I had a group of sims get off an elevator once and go on into the disco, dance, etc...all charred and doing the dang I stink thing. I had to get rid of that elevator and I still to this day haven't figured out if all of them tried to fix it or what happened?

My favorite Sim today as she was walking around the house (rather than the straight unobstructed path from the back door to the front door mind you) suddenly as she is walking along, raises her arm straight up like she is wanting to answer a question.  And sniffs her own armpit.  I don't remember her astrology sign but I know she has high neatness.  I swear some times Sims can be so gross or so stupid.  And in this case my Sim happened to choose to be both.

I get too tickled when a sim gets electrocuted, but they way they look, the charred skin, half burned clothes, hair on ends, it really has me on the floor. That's why I love knowledge sims, they want to be electrocuted and I try to oblige them. :D

Toxic, Brandy Broke did that and I had to get someone to save her, cause I forgot to put a firealarm in the kitchen.  She was burning, Dustin and her husband were extinguishing her, while I was both horrified and snickering.

Haven't had Fried Sim on the menu for ages  Apart from the Witch Doctor, but he's an NPC so doesn't count ;) Roast Sim I've never had, thankfully, sounds nasty! :pale: Or maybe it's just because I either have a fire alarm, or in the cases I forget, I quickly get the sim to extinguish it and hope they manage.

I agree though, these stories are ace :D

One of my knowledge sims got fried when she tried to fix a broken computer.  She went insane and I got to see the psychologist for the first time.  I laughed like crazy.  However, sims getting electrocuted worries me, because I heard that sims can die from electrocution.  Is that just paranoia?  Well on to my story:

My most surprising sim behaviour was when I had two sims have an affair on their respective honeys in college.  The relationship never went anywhere, and the female sim went on to marry her college love.  One day she randomly called my male sim, and asked if he wanted to go on an outing downtown. He went and the meal was fun, and casual until he ended the outing.  The next thing I know, he (in free mode) was giving her a tender kiss, and she was grabbing him for a very hot makeout session.  His relationship scores maxxed; so much for just staying best friends.  Oh, yes--they had chemsitry.  The whole thing left me breathless.

Sims can die from electrocution, which is why I only let sims with high mechanical skill fix anything, and even then I keep an eye on them, making sure their motives are high first - they're more likely to die if certain ones are low.

@hil34: Oh yeah! That reminds me of another one! My romance sim was feeling frisky, so I got her to invite a likely male sim (also romance) over for some raunchy fun. I got her to relax, asked him to join, and was all set to choose Make Out and Woohoo. Before I got the chance, he (yes, the visitor!) initiated a session under the bedclothes, right there and then! Intrigued, I hovered the mouse over the icon - Try For Baby! I'll be damned if I didn't hear a lullaby, too! I was shocked and laughing so hard at the same time!

So Alexander Goth went to University and was a good student,Unfortunately a cow mascot hated him so he got beaten uo every single day.I made the cow mascott become a regular student, she lost her costume and all,she fell in love with a guy (the guy had a very trendy hair by Kavar) and she was generaly sweet, but she still beat the hell out of Alexander on regular basis.,so Alexander vas very relieved when he finished his studies.
Back home,I gave him a splendid house ,the fridge was filled but he had only 30 dollar left.
So he contacted the date service. He payed the 30 dollars and got his date.
You can't immagine what you get for this money,LOL.
The woman had a green apron, green keps, white hair, long nose, she was old and she looked like hel!!!
Just try to get a date for this money, you'll laugh for hours,I did!
Alexander found her sexy inough(his only experience with girls beeing painfull, lol),he tryed to give her a hugg but didn't succeed.
So he went to the thing you can watch the stars trough(don't know the name right now in english) and his date went to the toilett, then the time was over. She left, very angry, and,ROFL,(please believe me,you can do it yourself, just let the sim have a very bad date, lol)she come back with a kind of recipient, she had fire on it,she put the fire to the house, lol, then she would run away, lol.

Heh, my sims never scratch their armpits. XD

I remember leaving the game alone for three minutes once, without pausing it, and when I came back half the house was on fire and the Grim Reaper was going crazy with that pink phone of his. XD

Also there was this sim who drowned once. She had a daughter with who she always got along well. I don't know why, but that daughter kicked her gravestone every single day after her mom died. XD

Everytime I let the game run, something terrible happens.  I once had a pregnant sim die, right before giving birth, when I fell asleep with the game running.  Made for some good story fodder.  My couple were the biggest socialites in the city.  It was horrible when I woke up, saved without thinking, and realized that my male sim was playing chess alone.  He was the mayor at the time.  Guess which career he switched to after that happened?

I'm going to watch out for my simmies with fixing stuff.  I even saw a repairman get fried fixing the dishwasher once.  Didn't think they ever missed.

Oh, I have a good one!  You may know the backgrounds of Cassandra Goth, Don Lothario, and Darren Dreamer. In my game, Cassandra and Don marry and have a long, but drama filled marriage with 5 kids. Darren went on to marry one of my custom sims, very happy and had 3 children that were grown. Darren's an elder and Cassandra was 4 days from elder, so that gives you the length of time that they had not interacted. I was playing another sim family and had them to go to a community lot for some fun. Cassandra was there and Darren and his wife were there. Darren still had some feelings for Cassandra, although I never had them to explore a relationship, so Cassandra was not in love with Darren.

Cassandra saw Darren and his wife and talked a little to the wife, (she met her before). The wife went to the bathroom and Cassandra followed only to the doorway, checking if she was really using it, went to Darren and gave him a big smooch. He fell in love with her again and when I went to play his lot, he wanted Cassandra, forgot about the poor wife. A little later, the game kept crashing, and I couldn't figure it out, so I re-installed. Never got to see what happened with those two.

In my re-installed game, I made a female sim specific for Remington the maid. I had played a family with Remington in it and wanted that again. When they moved in, just to get her first flirt on, I had her to check out Darren Dreamer. She was into Darren and I let them talk. Then when she got a maid, it was Remington, and I was happy.  So I had Charlotte to talk to Remington and they got together, had dates and eventually got married. Even tho she never established a romantic relationship with Darren, every so often, she had wants to talk to him. While pregnant, in the 3rd trimester, by Remington, Remington, Charlotte, and Darren were a part of the welcome wagon for a new family. Waiting on the family member to answer the doorbell, Charlotte puts a wet one on Darren, right in front of Remington, and swollen with a baby.  Remington reacted and slapped Charlotte, then Darren slapped Remington.  The family answered the door with Charlotte weeping and Remington and Darren about to fight. So I had the family member to talk to Darren and keep him busy, but to my horror, Remington and Charlotte were about to fight.  I had the new family member to tell those two goodbye and  kept Darren around for company. There were alot of fury there. :)

I immediately went to Remington and Charlotte's lot and sure enough, they were fighting. Remington wanted keep trying on the marriage, but also wanted to tell her to get out.  Charlotte's wants were all about Darren. So I had Remington to break up with Charlotte and she waddled right out of his life, with no reaction.  Remington cried like a baby.

Charlotte with her new home, was still hung up on Darren, so when she had a girl, I let Charlotte call Darren over and they were all over each other. ACR! Making a long story short, Charlotte and Darren got married and had 3 more kids before becoming elders. Eventually Remington and Charlotte became friends and Remington married again, had 5 kids by his wife, but still pined for Charlotte. She never had wants for Remington, ever. Remington got to know his daughter. Remington and Darren remained enemies.  I loved that drama, it was alot of fun. :D

It was 2 stories, all featuring Darren Dreamer. It was "live" and in living color. LOL.  I was coming home from work to see what would happen next.  Man, I love ACR, but it has taught me to let the sims pick who they want for the rest of their lives.  Everytime I force a coupling, it ends up disasterous. Just thinking about that story, I made another sim for Remington, and she got him for a maid. The only thing I did was had her to check out Remington, and they have gotten together for 3 dates. Due to marry, but she is now pining for of all the sims, Stephen Tinker. I still can't get it right, or Remington can't get it right. LOL :D

What is ACR? I think you should be video taping this. I can see ABC buying it from you as their new soap. This is better than any soap I've seen, at least I could keep up with them. Your Sims are all over the place. I loved reading that little story. Scandalous! lol

ACR's a lovely li... well, not-so-little mod by Twojeffs that lets your sims autonomously flirt/kiss/etc with others, even those they may have never/only just met. Sure spices up the game - turned my Gino into a perv! He lives with his boyfriend, but when I took another family to this comm lot for a shooting session (read picture-taking ;)), he was there, making out first with Gilbert Jacquet and then another of my sims, Dante, who also has a live-in lover! Lucky none of them got caught/I have a handy jealousy mod ;)

Oh my gosh! No wonder you all got a soap opera going on in your games. roflmbo I was like dang just walk up and kiss another Sim! I saw that with the love potion juice that came with Season's, but only one time thank goodness. I was going to kill my sim. I didn't know the beauty cocktail was actually the love potion in a juice and it tripled the effects of it in Spring. I thought I had some sort of bug, I had one Sim that would drink it and get three lightening bolts with anyone that walked past the house. Male/Female/Servos! He was making me nuts! That crazy sim followed that poor old nanny all over the house, then grabbed her and kissed her. She whipped the crap out of him. Needless to say no more love(beauty cocktail)juice for him in the springtime. That one time made me crazy, I think I'll avoid that mod. lol

I am sorry Pegasus, I thought you knew about ACR.  Thanks Sadie for the explanation. That hack is my favorite. I just let my sims choose, or make "midlife crisis" choices. I will not get Free Time til that hack is updated.

I have some good news for you then - found out on the Inteen site that it doesn't need updating! :D The two "biggies" still will though.

It's ok :) I learned something new, and at least now I know if someone asks for it, and where to find it. Believe it or not the only real mods I have in my game well don't have it right now, but it's Insim and Inge's section sofa mod. The rest of my mods are just little object mods that add a little realism to the game for cleaning, postal, things like that. Or have cute little interactions or animations. I'm such a prude these days. lol

I have ACR in game, with FT, no probs at all. Two of my sims woohooed autonomously not so long ago, hehe. It's great not to have to pull it out. I'm already struggling without my temporal adjuster and my wardrobe adjuster! I have a preggers sim in game too, so i'm going to test the pregwearall hack I s'pose.

Oops. OT. The most surprising thing that comes to mind that a sim did to me, is one time the social worker came to the house and looked up, smiling at the screen waving. She had no thought bubble or anything, and it freaked me out, lol.

For the longest time, I've wanted ACR in my game-but because I only had the base, it was not possible; but now that I have NL, I did put it into my game-no real surprises except that it looks like Mortimer Goth has the hots for Brandi Broke! (I aged them down to adult), and she's responding to him! I think I hear wedding bells! What a strange pair!

Hi Sadie, nice to see you love.  It's been a while.

The most surprising thing in recent memory is the interaction 'smooth move' that the romance sims get as an extra animation in "Freetime".

The romance sim smiles in a very sweet and charming way at his momentarily intended and then pulls out a single rose all innocent and light.  Of course his girlfriend (or boyfriend) is awed by this wonderful gesture and is at once surrounded by little happy hearts.

It's the sweetness thing I have ever seen in the game.  I'll try to grab a picture next time I can.

Hey Erica :D It has been a while, how's it going?

That "smooth move" sounds adorable :D Only thing stopping me getting FT is the big hack update thing that I'll need to do, but I so want to get my paws on that when I can :D

High times and low times. ;)

I actually took out all of my hacks, expecting for novanishingdormies and Juicer Tweaks.  It's playing fine so far, but I really miss the InSimenator.  Hopefully that will be updated in time.

Freetime is really fun.  I still don't think I've discovered everything there is too.

=/ I miss my Sims, my computer died on me and I don't know if it can be fixed.

Surprising things? Due to ACR, one of my most faithful pairs, Marta and Darrel Brewer split up. It all started when I sent edwin hughes, neighborhood male harlot and father of nearly 20 children by different women on a date with an intended prospect of his. Long story short, Edwin impregnated her (the second time since she already had a child by him). While I was there, I saw Darrel and Stella, who was a best friend of his, making out and kissing and going off to the photobooth to woohoo. I heard the chime that time.

To enact revenge (plus I wanted Marta and Darrel to have an equal number of kids, Darrel's illegitimate kid would bring them up to 13), I had Marta invite Edwin. With the help of Quick Relation, they were off to the car an sure enough, there was the chime. Marta gave birth to a bouncing baby boy named David.

To top everything off, Darrel's lover is bisexual and is attracted to a woman named Antonia Abbott. IF my game can be saved, I will see if I can get them together.

ACR is the best!  I love how the sims will assert their desires to another sim they are attracted to.

I just got a wierd thing happen in a family I was playing last nite.  An older brother (teen) and his little brother (child) were fishing while on vacation. I had been watching their mom, cause she was pregnant, and when I turned my attention back to the brothers, I noticed in the friends panel the little brother was furious with his older brother.  I don't know what happened :dontknow:, all I know the child wouldn't talk to his big brother anymore. I didn't have the options to have the child play any other thing but catch, and he wasn't gonna comply with that.  It only lasted for 2 sims days because, when they returned from vacation, I had to use the forgiving benefit for those 2 to get along.  I wonder what happened?  Was it bad conversation?

I love all these stories! I'm always really excited when one of my Sims does something new that I've never seen before. Free will is great for that reason.

The most surprising -- and strangest -- thing I ever experienced with the game happened one night when I was playing my all-time favorite Sim Jason. Jason was born in the game, and was a teen at the time, I think. He was just sitting there at the dining room table alone for some reason, and because I'd just downloaded the mesh shirt he was wearing, I zoomed up close to see the detail on the neckline because I was impressed with the way it looked.

Anyway, I zoomed up close, looked at it, and then pulled the camera back -- and when I did, I swear, he looked directly at me and LAUGHED.

It was the weirdest thing, because he has these really great eyes, so expressive and almost knowing, if you know what I mean, that for a moment, no kidding, I forgot he was a Sim. I've never had it happen again, but let me tell you...it was a bit...creepy. I was all by myself when it happened, and I thought maybe I'd fallen asleep and imagined it. But I didn't. I can't imagine how they programmed THAT one!

My sims do that whenever I zoom in then out also, cracks me up. I love the AI technology used in the Sims 2. I can't wait to see what they've come up with Sims 3. How much they've improved on it in 2 years. I will have no regrets. I figure even at 180 for all EP's and another 180 for all SP's which it's not it's cheaper for SP's. I spend more than that for just one day of enjoyment at a theme park for my family and I. I've gotten months of enjoyment from these little pixel people.

I had some that had reached the top in logic both in skills and in the hobby thing, and now they are all wandering around with aa really advanced rubics cube, even with free will off.

aother thing is that I tested Bloom's new hair today - the red version - and the first baby that was born had red hair (same happened yesterday, only with the blond version.) the parents had light and red hair, so no big surprise, but funny coincidence.

I turned him back into an adult too, or at least flagged him as such. Apart from his waking up at 4am, I had a look back through the story pics and found he was an elder when Johnny was a baby - so why shouldn't he still be fertile now? To add to that, Jenny wants another and I plan sometime to indulge her ;)

Title: What is the most surprising thing that your Sims have ever done?
Post by: HB_princessakasha on March 22, 2008, 10:49:08 pm
oh! i got one.

so i create my sims based on the characters that me and my friends create right? ok so, i usually play this one family of characters. the single mom, her 2 teenage kids and her grown son (roughly around 22/23) and their cousin who moved in with them whose the same age as the oldest son. so anyways. the cousin and oldest son, despite the fact that their aspirations are Popular and Pleasure. they are the most permiscious men in the town. it seems like every female friend they meet, they want to woohoo. and by all these females coming to the house, the teen son, meets them and the same thing happens.

so oneday, the cousin throws a party. and here comes Kat (i have Pets. so theres a townie thats single with 3 cats) and when Kat comes in. FOR SOME ODD REASON. everyone is attracted to her. they want to talk to her, when i leave them alone. they walk over to her. it got on my nerves to the point where i had to ask her to leave. o___o; the crazy cat lady was the life of the party. so after the party. all the guys in the house wanted to do was talk/chat/play/flirt/date with Kat. so about a week later, when i finally got their minds and wants off Kat. i threw another party. sure enough Kat showed up. but this time, not ONLY did the guys run to greet her. THE GIRLS OF THE PARTY DID TOO!

so the mother had to deal with 2 sexually active teens (one being a girl) and 2 sexually active young adults. i play another house of characters that i have, which is a grandmother with her adult grandson and her teen sister. the grandson goes to get the paper because its his day off of work and Kat walks by. stops. does what all the other townies do. and the grandson drops the paper and goes to greet her. they talk. and after a while (take note: im not paying attention to him,im tending to the grandma) when i do notice, him and kat have talked up enough to be BFFs! O____o;

shortly after. like all the other male sims, he wants to talk/date/flirt with her. well i alternated between both houses and it came to the point where...well...Kat woohoo'd with all of them (minus the women)...and.......i decided to investigate. so i play her house, with her 3 cats...and it turns out..........she got pregnant.

NOW IM STUCK BECAUSE I HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA WHO THE DADDY IS BECAUSE IT WAS A SILENT PREGNANCY!! SHES FALLEN IN LOVE WITH 5 MEN (plus Don) AND SHES WOOHOOD THEM ALL CEPT DON!

i never knew a single cat lady would be so popular o.o;; geezus. for that kind of attention i may go buy me some cats!

I have a bit of drama from my sims.  I had Cassandra Goth marry Don since I had to reinstall the sims and last time I had her marry Darren.  Then I had Dina marry Mortimer (of course)  Nina fell in love with a townie so I had her invite Mortimer, Dina, Cassandra, Don, and all them over to her house for the wedding.  All of a sudden as the party is going on Don and Cassandra got into a huge fight and I saw the little "someone got caught cheating" bubble.  So I figured of course, Don cheated on Cassandra cause he's in love with like three sims.  I go over to the Goths and it turns out that Don caught Cassandra cheating on him with Darren. (Darren walked by and I had Nina greet him for her wedding.  The more the merrier, right?)  It was Cassandra's first kiss with Darren.  Cassandra was in her last day of pregnancy at the time.

Damn, this is better than anything I could cook up XD

Mine's trivial by comparison, but anyway: two things I'd never seen a sim do by themselves until I played Johnny Smith's household - float on their back in the pool, and drinking from the bottle  On top of that, I didn't realise that sims could get jittery from coffee! :oogle: He was still shaking when he went to answer the phone! (NB: this is coffee, not espresso - I already knew about that one)

I like seeing sims float in the pool, the jittery thing sort of freaky. Have you seen the adult sims stuff face in front of the refrigerator, been happening more in my game since FT.

Title: What is the most surprising thing that your Sims have ever done?
Post by: Sam the T-man on March 24, 2008, 07:18:40 pm
Ohh yes, plenty of times - before I found the "no stuff face" mod by Squinge ;) Hopefully that's one that won't need updating.. especially if it's happening more with FT :? What's with that stupid interaction, anyway? I could understand it if the sims were starving, but I've had it with vampires just barely short of full on hunger! :oogle:

Yeah, I like seeing them float in the pool too, they look so at peace in there :) Drinking from the bottle I'd only ever seen in pictures/videos. Then Johnny decided he needed a way to boost his fun without plopping down in front of the box - that was funny  Despite a "good manners" mod by TJ in my game, once I'd stopped him drinking he let out this loud belch - didn't know whether to laugh or clip him round the ear  Him and Ripp are definitely made for each other ;)

LOL ^^  I am not ready to get rid of the "stuff face", but when I do, I am glad to know there's a mod to get rid of it. :D  When I hear my sims belch, I get nausea, then I wish I could pinch them. I don't like that IRL. :)

I made a sim and his body was all messed up, when he went to take a shower, he had no body. I killed him off so that I could remake him and still keep the house and furnishings, well the grim reaper showed up and after he died, the grim reaper sat on the couch and started watching tv! I couldn't get him to leave so that I could get out of the house to start my sim over, I just thought that was the funniest thing I had ever seen a sim do. I also love when the ghosts appear and jump into my lamps and stuff.

Once in the sims 1 I had a female sim and a male sim living together and they were a couple. The female sim had a special friend who came over all the time. I had the game on free will when this happened: she and her special friend fell in love and cheated on the male sim and she moved in and they took over the only bed and so then I had to make a small little closet for the male to sleep in. He hated them both for a LONG time.

Once I locked him in his closet for cruel and unusual punishment and he peed on the floor and cried. Later the female that took his place started a fire and "coincidentally" he burned to death when he tried to extinguish it. They had to find a new slave.

In Spring 2005, when I first got University EP and saw that it had zombies I went a bit slap-happy and decided to experiment.  I created a new family, then went busily to work turning the teen son into a zombie.  It went a bit weird since I didn't fully understand all the steps to doing it, so I ended up having the poor kid die and be "saved from death" by begging the grim reaper, after about five tries, to the best of my recollection, I noticed he wasn't acting quite right.

He was mostly normal, but was a bit weird.  He would walk off the lot and "go to town" even though it wasn't a university lot, but a common residence in Pleasantview then come back with things, like pizza or in one instance a stereo that he plopped on the lawn and started dancing... I thought, how cool!

So I started seriously mucking about and finally got the ball rolling with the telephone reward object that lets you dial up the grim reaper and haggle for the return of a lost loved one.  Sonny boy then went to his untimely death a number more times -- probably seven times if memory serves, raising the total times to twelve -- before he was fetched back a zombie.

Well... I was under-whelmed by the zombie.  I don't know what I was expecting, but slow shambling, pus-bubble covered, brain-hungry lameness surely wasn't it.  So off he went to another fiery death and was fetched back all normal like... only not. He was still in the family and listed as a playable Sim, but he couldn't be selected or played as the rest of the family.  He had become a sort of NPC in the middle of the family.

Sonny boy now never slept, his wants changed at random, his needs fluctuated rather erratically, and he was behaving in a fashion that I can only describe as "disturbed".  He would suddenly break out laughing for no reason, would at time walk around with this weird perma-grin on his face wringing his hands like a madman, I finally had my fill when i saw him standing between the hedges on night staring into a window with a very disturbing look on his face laughing while I was doing something with another member of the family. He was really creepy, and I was not sure how to fix him, or even if I could.

I know there is a sanity score in early versions of the game, and I would only guess his was bottomed out.

I deleted my neighbourhoods folder and started over... I have never seen this happen again with any other Sim... And in all honesty, I am not sure I want to >_<

I love how they look when they don't want to do what I have in queue, they slow poke to the deed. :D What I really love is when they are happy to do something in queue, slap their hands together and have the happy/goofy walk to the deed. Don Lothario does that well.

I know what you mean about the change appearance and they don't like it. I look at them, like you really did need this change, really do. How dare you laugh, you should have seen how you looked before, I laughed. :D

Loved Beos's story. lol I've never seen that in my game Mary, dang it I have boring Sims other than electrical shocks from time to time, but I've never even had a Sim die from getting shocked.

Oh yeah, saw that happen when NL first came out. It gives quite a jolt, that the motives go down a bit. They are still shocking each other in my sim lots cause I still love to see it.

With FT, I get such lovely surprises like the ones into cuisine hobby can rub their bellies like they are full and the food was good.  It looks better when a pregnant sim does it.

Yeah, I noticed that with the music sims - I found myself trying to trace the whistler, and they'll start drumming on their legs :D I'm noticing the active animation (where they start jigging on the spot and clapping their hands) has been used too - at least Ripp never had a reason to do that before, but he does that a lot lately ^_^

Speaking of whom, there was the bizarre way he greeted his boyfriend (who's also music) when he came over - I noticed on the anim box a "BFF greeting" so it could be that, but it was weird! I'll have to get a pic next time, 'cause I can't remember it now. Oh yeah! Two budding scientists in the Grunt household, and one of them's Tank - that's gonna go down well with his pushy dad! So much for wanting to be like his old man..

Something I'm not sure about though; these hobby animations - are they by sims with two/three points at least, or sims who are pre-destined to a certain hobby?

Post by: Bev in NY on April 05, 2008, 02:36:07 am
it seems to me that the animation is after the simm reaches a certain amount of points in the particular hobby...cruisine rubs belly.. music ones whistle and do the little slap leg thing...fitness ones will raise their one leg and reach for it like a stretch thing...sports ones will do like a slam dunk thing...i'm not sure of the animation with the other hobbies...either there really isn't ones or i haven't really payed attention to see what they do...i know with the science one they do pull out a arubics cube and play with it...oh i just remembered one the artistic ones do the hand thing where they make like a frame and view things with it....if i see some others i will post them if someone else doesn't before me....

I have found the gestures become many for some hobbies, like the sports hobbyist does the hoop motion, and boxing, the music do the slap leg, whistle, ballet poses. Those are the ones I am catching.  The literary walk around with a book. I have noticed that the artist will crack knuckles or something like that, maybe stretch fingers along with making picture frames. There are many other things to venture in Freetime.  Have anyone noticed that can get enthusiam in their sleep and gain levels with their dreams. That is funny. I will often time get that pop up saying they have reached a level and do something new in their sleep. I really love the idle gestures they do, I think they are entertaining. :D

I think the gestures start at the 2nd level.  The NPC's and townies are already pre-destined, so they start doing gestures with their particular hobby. I watch for that so my sims can talk to them about hobbies that go with that particular sim. :D

thanks lewis...yeah i've seen some you mentioned just forgot about them....LOL...but i haven't reached the literature one high enough to see the book one got to try that....the NPC's i've seen doing the motions too...now i also remember having pop ups about gaining interest while they were sleeping...i wondered why it came up....that's kind of cool...maybe they can sleep their way to the zone...LOL

My sims are always freaking me out.

When I first started playing (in Strangetown) every time a new family had the three visitors greet them, two of the visitors would end up fighting.
Every. Single. Time.
Then when someone would go downtown, while they were there, a fight would break out somewhere else on the lot. So violent. (Shakes head)

I think I got a glitch once too. In the Grunt household, Ripp started dancing to the radio. Buzz started pointing and laughing at him. From then on, every single member of the household would spontaneously burst into laughter at random intervals, even when the radio was off, and Ripp was away somewhere. It happened for days. Very disturbing.

Then there was the oh-so-sweet-and-girly sim who farted and laughed at it.

Oh damn, yeah, I'm still getting that with my welcome wagons; I'm starting to consider stopping the damn things cos of the fights ¬_¬

That second one's odd. I know the dancers get laughed at when they've no skill, but to randomly laugh? That sounds worrying :oogle:

I had the laughing situation happen @ University. All four of my playables in the dorm would laugh until they graduated. The person danced on their first day at the dorm, and after that not only the dormies and playables were laughing randomly, but sims just walking by was laughing too. I just thought it was a fun dorm. :D

I have fights also with welcome wagons, but some marriages get split apart also. I have a hack in my game that ask whether I want a welcome wagon or not, I think by twojeff. Will not get rid of it. ;)

Great thread!I had one sim that came over to Adam Sims' house and stayed in the hot tub for a *week*.He never got out to do anything, just sat there for a week.....and when he left he said"Look at the time!I have to go!"I thought it was so funny....I mean,he sat there for an entire wek!
Adam Sim(his last name is Trier in game)is one of my funniest sims...he is constantly looking over his shoulder at me....he lives alone so I know he isn't looking at anyone else.......at first I thought it was creepy but now I think it is kind of cute.He also dreams about the strangest things.....you know how you get the little hearts around the thought bubbles of sims they like?well, apparently Adam is in love with his stereo,he dreams about it every night, and once I caught him having a romantic dream about Balin the lone wolf....very funny.
Something surprising that happened last night happened in Life Stories........one of my sim kids invited a friend over and her friend asked if she could bring a friend....sure,why not?the kid ended up bringing some ugly, creepy townie named Peyton(who is an adult btw)After checking his last name to make sure he wasn't related to my sim kid's friend,I had her mom order him off the lot.Every now and then I get thought bubbles over my sim kid's head about Peyton.I don't know if this is horrifying or funny or both.
I love these funny little things my simmies do,every time I play I learn something new about them.

My sims are a very strange bunch indeed: they not only have spouses or SOs, they dream about other people, or have little "hearts" fly around in their thought bubbles when the person of their desire (not necessarily their partner) is around..I think that if I let them off the leash, they would all be cheating like crazy-and many hearts (and partnerships) would be broken.
I think I have "Peyton Place" instead of Pleasantview in my game.

There was something else that I forgot to mention.....I hired a nanny that was actually helpful!she did the dishes, took out the garbage and took better care of my little ones than the parents do,she even played with them! This is the first time I have ever had this happen, the next nanny will probably be just as bad as the old ones:(

I've had some good nannies, but I have to befriend them first. Once my sims are on friendly terms with the nannies, they fix fancy food for the family, like lobster thermador and crepes suzettes. :D Since freetime, the nannies in my game act like they are in love with the sim kids, always hugging and kissing the toddlers, play with the infants, I have been shocked with that. ;)

Ditto, that's why I've always used either Servo's, or if they had a grandparent/great grandparent who's spouse had died. I move them in to care for the children. I've really thought about creating a couple elder Sims just to be nannies I can move in and out of families, because Servo's live forever.

only yeaterday, one of my simmies decided he wanted to walk around in a towel outside the house. he just stood there by the mail box in a blue towel (underwear, really) :D

one sim had a pet bat (from an error experience as a vampire) flying in front of him. everything he did, got errors. he even brought his infant son with him to bed (baby stuck in holding position). he gave me these weird looks all the time. I had  also downloaded a ridable horse from MTS2. there was a slight chance that they would sit themselves down the wrong way. of course he did just that... (the father of the ottoman family from seasons). it corrected when I deleted the bat, though. but it was fun as long it lasted.

and once, I made a sim have triplets. poor woman. there was a some sort of error, so when she'd given birth to the two first, and then the third, the birthing started over again. and over again. and over again (the babies disappeared every time). I don't know how many times she birthed them all in all, cause I stopped counting after a while...

Time to bump this back up I guess. Hehe.

The weirdest thing that happened in my game was when I used the insimenator to turn a child sim into an independent teen. Instead of growing into the teen body, and having the adult options, she was still a kid, but had them. Only, she like floats in the air so that she's the same height as a teen. Her body and clothes and everything are like a kid though. lmao. It's so weird.

I have a Sim in Strangetown that I created...he looks a bit like Dustin Broke(only he is an adult)and every sim in town is in love with him, even the men and the pets...and the wierd thing is that not all of them have actually *met* him.....they walk around with his picture in a thought bubble surrounded by flying hearts.
I am beginning to think that this flying hearts thing is completely random.
I love the way my married (or otherwise coupled) sims make this little woohoo noise and have the flying hearts when they are around their significant others...it's so cute!I have one sim who,as soon as he gets out of his car, runs to his wife and gives her a big old smooch all on his own.I think they are so cute when they are in love.

Last night, as I was playing one of my families, the loving spouse of one of my sims families drank some beer (a hack) and then proceeded to attack her husband; before this they were very lovey-dovey. I guess some sims can't handle their alcohol. Needless to say, they're not getting along-because he's a drunk, too!
It shocked me that they would turn violent so quickly. Most of the time with this hack, they get naked, run out to the mailbox and do a "Bronx Cheer" for all the passersby. This one threw me-I guess they have some issues!

I have the beer keg from Simslice and it does make for some very odd behavior......I have one sim who guzzles beer and then pukes and guzzles more, setting off the whole chain again. You would think he would learn...nope,it's  guzzle, puke and guzzle some more.I have another one who drinks beer and then goes and pees in the bushes(and he is maxed out on neat points)I love that beer keg:)
I don't know if this is surprising or not but some of my sims seem to be brain damaged(Iknow we all complain about the stupid things they do but some of this is just beyond stupid)One of my sims insists on sleeping in her son's bed.Never mind that she has a super deluxe double bed that is much more comfortable(plus her hottie husband sleeps in it)Nope, she comes home from work, takes a shower and crashes in the kid's space themed bed.I have to wake her up and send her to her own bed so  the poor kid can get some sleep. She also monopolizes the kid's computer, even though there are three others in the house.I think the kid secretly hates her(he spends more time with the dog and his dad...who doesn't seem to be as dim as his wife)

The funniest thing I ever saw was, I teleported a Sim outside his house to pull some weeds, he took a few extra steps foward, looked to the left, looked to the right, then looked me square in the eyes, and started laughing hysterically. Almost peed his pants. Naturally, it got me laughing.

I will never forget that.

I had my sim painting one of the cars blue and all of a sudden the paint can thing disappeared and the paint was coming out of her hand and she just kept on painting it, finished with the painting and then went and started making out with her boyfriend who was on the couch, the whole time the blue string of paint still shooting out of her hand O_O

I have no idea what caused it, but I do know that two things might've contributed to it:
A 'donation/booty' hair and the fact I forgot to turn off TestingCheats.

Anyhoo, the most surprising thing one of my sims ever did was CHANGE GENDER!
Seriously, I have no idea how it happened but whilst playing with my self-sim's born-in-game son James, having just moved into Sim State University, I felt he could do with a nice girlfriend as all he ever did was study.

So, I exitted the game dafault dorm and entered CAS, where I created a pretty alien sim named Ksenia. She was beautiful, with light green skin, black alien eyes and a GORGOEUS hair I liberated from 'the booty'. Anyways, after I'd finished dressing her and assigning her personality traits, I went back to the Neighbourhood and moved her into the dorm containing James.

So far, so normal.

The lot loaded up as normal, the thumbnails of the active sims showing James as he normally locked and Ksenia as I'd made her-female with long hair and a cute dress.

Well, I got into the lot and imagine my horror when I saw Ksenia had somehow morphed into a MALE alien with a pink XMS hair and a fugly Maxis male outfit.

The hilerious thing, however, was that he still had the voice and mannerisms of a FEMALE sim, speaking a high, girlish tone and moving to the female sim animations. Sure enough, a quick check in SimPE revealed that whilst Ksenia looked like a man in game, she was still classed as female as the SimPe thumbnail showed her in her original form.

I think my game is tryna tell me something, as James made a beeline for the newly transgendered Ksenia.

Now THAT is really strange, Shastania!

I just remembered this odd one today: One of my born-in-game sims went off to college, where I installed him in a dorm with nine others. I don't know how, but through his going off to class, some sort of glitch happened, and his character somehow ended up cloned. One of him was there at the dorm, the other was at class. When the second one returned from class, there were two of him, interacting with everyone, acting like there was nothing unusual happening.

Just for fun, I played it for a while, and believe it or not, he took an instant liking to himself. So I had him flirt...and next thing I know, there he was, making out with himself! It was the weirdest thing -- like he was carrying on a romantic relationship with a mirror or something. I finally got bored with it and exited without saving because I didn't want that kind of error in my game, and when I went back in, there was only one of him, thank goodness.

It was the weirdest thing, though! Talk about being in love with yourself! :-P

I don't know if this is strange or not, but after I installed OFB, two male sims decided to hang out in the shower. The shower is one of those big, curved ones from, Pimp-My-Sims, I think.

I actually took a picture of it.

How many males decide to hang out inside the shower?!!? ahhh......?!!?

I had a Sim permanently lost to the aliens like that, but it was because I had installed a new expansion pack before he was returned. Usually when I do that, the family resets - meaning all the sims who were at work are now at home just standing around and get in trouble for missing work. Unfortunately for him, the aliens kept him and I had to uninstall and restore the neighborhood to get him back.
Might be something like that happened to you?

LOL wow I just read through the whole thread and I laughed sooo much (and discovered a few mods I will now go look for).
And maybe now i'll actually notice when sims look at me and laugh since I don't recall that they ever did this to me.

What some of my sims like to do though is laugh at other sims seemingly at random. I have these 2 sims that got married and the wife rather enjoys "laughing softly" at her husband in the weirdest situations. Sometimes he's just eating his supper and she will stand behind him an laugh, although once he got hit by lighting and survived and that apparently was funny to her as well! I couldn't believe it how she just stood there an laughed, it's actually kinda creepy sometimes, like she is planning something evil....
(and I was reading an earlier post, where does a sim find scissors to run around with? I never seen that)

That's cool, you're welcome :)

Back on topic: I had one last night. I'm playing Strangetown via HP's merged neighbourhood on MTS2 (works like a charm, BTW :)). PT9 was reading the entertainment section of the paper on his front porch, shortly after it got delivered. Consort Capp appeared on scene, walking by looking very shifty as though up to something, and I thought he was gonna kick the dustbin (trash can to you ;)). But no - he walks up the front steps, approaches the elderly alien as he's reading, plucks the paper out of his hands and scarpers! Needless to say, the green guy wasn't impressed

Hmmm?, according to a very well known dating site Malcolm Landgraab IV and Bella Goth would make an ideal couple...

So, poor old Mr. Goth met with accident (squashed by a falling satellite - one of my personal favourites!) - Bella was then seduced by Malcolm and everything was running very much to plan, apart from the odd haunting every now & then.

Until on that fateful day, when the hot tub they were both in got struck by lightning (not once, but twice!!!) and Malcolm was killed, leaving poor Bella on her own again - weird thing was I could have sworn I heard the ghost laughing when it happened.

Spooky or what?, I was even tempted to switch off the PC and call a Priest!... ;)

There is another version of a merged hood-SaraMK's, which requires only NL to run.
In my game, (newly installed merged hood), the most unusual thing happened-Brandi Broke, of course was pregnant-and she had twins-one of which was a girl! The usual scenario is that she only has boys, in the pregnancy that she is in when you first play her-this was a surprise!
I don't know what I did to get a girl or twins, but this game I'm keeping! She's always needed a girl to raise, I think!

I think I was the most surprised when the game first came out. I was playing some nondescript white trash family, and was very surprised when the greasy, mullet wearing father was standing naked in the kitchen, bathing himself in the sink! I know that isn't so amusing now, but it took me by surprise at the time!

Well, it's not surprising anymore, because they do it all the time since BV, but when they assembled in the bathroom to dance the "Schlambada"- don't know, what it is called in the English version of the Game, it was a funny moment. It wasn't so funny for those sims who wanted to use the toilet anyway...

The most surprising and werid things my sims have ever done has to be this:
My sim was pregnet and was just about to give birth when her Wants changed. So in her Wants she wanted a baby, but in her Fears she didn't want to have a baby! O.o She needs to make up her mind ;)

Hilarious thread. It reminded me of the weirdest thing that happened in my game, although it was probably a glitch or a mod conflict or something. I had this set of teen twin boys who both transitioned to adult, only one transitioned normally and the other reverted back to a baby, but had an adult's body. Imagine my surprise when his twin brother picked him up and started carrying him over to the fridge! I'm laughing about it now, but I was really creeped out at the time and immediately quit the lot without saving. When I reloaded, they both transitioned normally, thankfully.

That actually reminds me of another time, which was once again probably caused by some mod conflict or something. When I loaded one of my lots, the first thing that happened was that the baby got up out of the crib and floated in mid air and autonomously got the mail. Another creepy sight!

I've had something very startling happen in my game-I restarted an old neighborhood (since my reinstall) and was playing Nina Caliente; in this one, she has about 5 or 6 kids (two of them babies), with her loving husband.
When I looked at her "wants" I found that she had wants of seeing the ghosts of her own children-the babies, no less!
She wants them dead! Oh, my god, I've never seen anything remotely like this-a parent wanting their own children dead?
I think she's tired of being a mommy...

The other day, one of my Sims went to go shut the alam clock off, and each time he beat on it, his voice got an octave higher. You'd think he was swearing at it.

I've never seen that before.

I actually saw a Sim fart the other day! I always make my Sims super-neat and this was a premade Sim, so I was very shocked as I didn't know they could do that!

Ok it technically wasn't my sims, it was my husbands, but I made them all and set him up with mods gallore so he wouldn't have to do anything but sit back and play don juan.  Well they were becoming a handfull so he have them all jobs, so he could have more customers for his home business show up.  Well while he's runnin his register he starts getting 'warnings' about so and so not showing up for work, then another, and another, and so on (7 girls in all)  he scrolls over to the other side of the house and the girls are all hiding in the kitchen, it was hysterical, those naughty spoiled things.  Guess you had to be there, the funnier still part is they usual hover like a cloud around him, but they were staying in a group in the kitchen tickling and telling jokes to each other, ain't free will a stinker.  Cheers   2coffee

*Raises the dead..Er... I mean thread*

I just had to share some of my wierd sim moments. I have this very romantic sim girly who woo-hoos with everybody. Well before making her a couple of days earlier I had made a sim family I named the Blakes, and they had a son named Dawson whom had grown into an adult, and moved out with his girlfriend Willow. (They are super in-love) Okay so for fun I wanted Holly (my romance sim) to woo-hoo well atleast try! to woo hoo with Dawson. I invited him over and had a dream date with him 3 times and each time, she had the want to woo-hoo with him. I tried 3 times and everytime right before she initiated the woo-hoo. He would stop her and get up and say 'look at the time I have to go!' LOL! I thought that was really funny. :D

Another time I had two twin girl toddlers, there birthday parties were in full-swing. Everyone was waiting on them to age into children, so I had mom take one twin to a cake, and dad take the other to the other cake. This is weird part, I didn't get to see the animation of them growing up for some reason but you could see them twirl into the next life stage and RIGHT before the twins spun into children there age bar would age down to three days old! So they were like in perpetual toddlerhood LOL! This happened 2-3 times in a row and they weren't using a custom cake! It was so weird.

This is by far the freakiest thing I've ever seen happen in my game but one time I had a sim float on her back in the pool okay I accidentially moved her out of the pool with move objects on and quickly moved her back so  I didn't think anything would happen because I did move her back into the pool using the un-do tool and when I entered back into live-mode I made her get out of the pool and she did only she was uh.. swimming through the house!! you could see her body half sticking out of the floor and she was just doggie paddling through the house. I quickly got freaked out by this so I exited without saving and went back in and she was STILL doing it! I was really disturbed by this especially when I did not save and she was going through doors in my direction of the screen! Needless to say I had to delete the house and the sim from within Bodyshop.. :-X

actually vegasblack, thats more than creepy, somebody needs to call a priest and excorcise your sims2, mod or no mods, floating babies lookig for coupons in the mail?  Twin brothers one reduced to infancy despite his size lol, thats just craziness.
We've only had one weird thing happen to our families (we meaning me + my husband) his one of 7 groupies became stagnant after being brought back to life after being struck down by a satelite waiting for her ride to work.  As if someone turned off her free will she would just stand there and unque any actions unless manually given the command, the only thing that fixed her was getting her pregnant.

I let my cousin play... he was figuring out the game, and a tree outside burst into flame- it wasn't raining. The parents ran to it, and died. The social worker came and took the kids. What the?!

Also, the same day. I was doing a photoshoot at my self-sim's daughter's house, using maxMotives periodically... and them BAM! The social worker shows up! Why?!

I had something rather strange happen just the other day...

I had Don Lothario get involved with a DownTownie named Mallory. I forget her last name now, as I have no clue how to pronounce it, let alone spell it. Anyway, she moved in, and they had a daughter.

Don has a bad habit of having children, but then simply allowing the mother to keep the children, and he never really sees them. So I wanted him to be stuck with a child of his own, that he couldn't pawn off. So Mallory came down with a terminal disease, and passed away.

Now, the daughter is a child, and Don has another lady in his life, living there with him and his daughter. I had Don and his lady friend WooHoo, and when this happened, a box popped up in Don's queue saying "Be slapped" or something. But there was no one else that Don is romantically involved with at his house at the time, all except for Mallory's ghost.

The ghost didn't slap him of course, but she did disappear and hasn't returned.
Don has a memory now saying "Got caught cheating". And I know it's referring to Mallory's catching him, because I have been careful not let him get caught by any others.
And while Don was supposed to be getting slapped by Mallory's ghost, the daughter had woken up and was crying, and shouting, with her hands at the sides of her head. She was having this horrible horrible fit, and it went on for quite some time.

It was really strange. I never knew ghosts could get jealous! I want to experiment again to see if it was just a one time thing or if it'll happen again!

Yep, ghosts can definitely get jealous! LOL. It's never happened to me, but it did with a friend of mine in her game.

The ghost of Darren Dreamer's wife always walked around depressed. The thought bubbles seemed to indicate that she really missed her family and wanted to be with them again. So I never understood why she scared him because everytime she did she woud cry and be sad that he left her.

Before that I'd never seen a ghost pine for their family so deeply.

Aww that is so sad DaSpecial! Doesn't that make you want to install Uni and have Dirk go to college and major in the paranormal career and ressurect her? :p

Title: Re: What is the most surprising thing that your Sims have ever done?
Post by: DaSpecial1 on June 10, 2010, 03:01:33 pm
I actually did resurrect her (can't remember how) cause I couldn't bare that anymore 1titter.

Darren had been dating someone else but dumped her right away, all on his own, as soon as he saw his wife (whose name escapes me).  They were total lovebirds & they were expecting a little one a while after that. Dirk was happy too  & dating angela pleasant I think.  They were one of my favorite families back then--I have some great pics somewhere.  Then my comp died and I lost them :(.

That was a couple years ago I backup everything now :D.

Aww you have a soft heart like mine. I wouldn't be able to see that either, and not do anything about it. You resurrected her without the need of Uni? I would love to know how to do that! How do you rid your home of ghosts? I always delete the tombstone and the ghost will still haunt my sims. It may just be a glitch but I can never rid my homes of ghosts.. :-\

Title: Re: What is the most surprising thing that your Sims have ever done?

You can move the tombstone off the lot (if you have NL). If you click on it, you should get the choice to take it to a community lot. Or something. It's been awhile since I let one of my sims die. LOL

I've tried that..and they still will haunt lol! I may have a mod conflict lurking around, but as you mentioned its been a while as well for me that I have let my sims DIE! lol. I try to avoid house fires and falling satalites. Haha..

They still haunt your lot? That's weird. Moving the tombstone off my lot always did the trick. They stopped haunting my sims and starting haunting the graveyard (or wherever I had put them).

Yes! I remember when I first installed seasons, I was playing the Caliente house and both the sisters were relaxing in the hottub, and all of a sudden lightning strikes the hottub. This is before I discovered the No random bursting into flames hack..and anyway Nina died, and would not go away! I moved her tombstone to Gathiers Greens or whatever you call it, and she still hanted Dina lol.. It's like she's saying "You'll never get Mortimer, Dina not as long as I'm around!" LOL! ;D

Oh wow! Resurrecting his wife totally slipped my mind. Now I feel bad for having him marry Cassandra Goth and move out of his old house and away from his other wife's tombstone.

The other day while playing I kept boosting health, and I don't know what happened there were like a thousand people on one lot for a photo shoot (yes, the one in my thread) and the social worker came and took not only the three children who lived in the house, but all the children there. What the? She's crazy. It really surprised me.

I've never seen the social worker (outside of spawning her for Don to date) but wow! She took ALL the kids? 1titter Too funny.

Simgirl, I can't remember all the things I had in game back then I just know resurrecting her didn't bork my game in any way. Hmm, now that I think of it I know I had up to seasons because Darren & his wife used to garden together.

I once had the social worker of doom for a visit. Got a few creepy pics of her where she looked like siamese twins...

Once when she delivered a baby to a family, she had a really creepy expression.

I'll see if I can dig up the pics. Tinypic is being bothersome today, and won't let me upload more than one or two pics at the same time...

-Shudders- You had a glitched social worker, or did you download her as a default replacement? That sounds really freaky..I'd love to see pics of her when you can get tinypic to cooperate with you.

DaSpecial1 I would like to have something that could ressurect sims without the use of Uni, but I guess the ressurection animation is coded into Uni. :p

There were suddenly two social workers in the car, sitting on top of each other. Then one of them bent forward to drive, and they looked like siamese twins connected at the middle...

She's usually not glitched, and as far as I can remember this has only happened once.

The weird expression has happened a few times, though...

Self-immoliation, back when I had only had the base game and Nightlife installed. She was on a balcony talking to a neighbour and next thing I knew there was a flash of light and all that was left was a pile of ashes. I was nervous playing for days after that.

I had a plantsim who was pregnant (via an affair) who came to a party at the father's house, gave birth and left the infant with him and his wife. Same thing happened to Don Lothario with his mistress (who was the nanny I think). She not only left the baby with Don and Cassandra but she still came over to baby sit.1titter

I was just playing the Pleasants, and when Angela was coming downstairs for dinner she slid down the railing rather than walking. I have never seen that before.

I was also surprised the first time I saw someone playing with the fridge door. Some teen one of the kids brought home from school just walked straight to the fridge and started hanging on the door. Gave me a laugh. And then I kicked her out.

The School bus came to pick up one of my legacy sim's 3 kids and 2 teens. You know how as soon as the bus or carpool comes, the sims automatically change into their regular clothes or work uniform? Well 4 out of my sim's five offspring did that. The youngest kid changed into...nothing. He went to school naked :P Then a few sim hours later I get a little message saying he got the lead role in the school play.

I've had a neighbor come over to visit, bathe in the sims tub (that they were visiting) and then walk around in their undies until they went home--that was a bit disturbing.
