I have been seeing info on line about a new EP called Apartment Life. If you google Sims 2 apartment life, there's alot of discussions come up. According to snootysims the unconfirmed date is September 2008.

I have been reading this thread (http://forums.sims2community.com/showthread.php?t=55566) about it. Just speculation and theories, but will be nice to have real apartment living finally. With the dorms and hotels features, I think this could have been a possibility a long time ago. :D

All of this based on a single Swiss/German web-sales site (http://www.abcsoftware.ch/desktopdefault.aspx?tabID=79&sku=MXSW7706246) that changed the name of the offered item not long after sims sites started mentioning it.  Rod Humble - the official EA Sims 2 mouth-piece (read as "paid liar" like Grima Wormtongue of Tolkien fame) said that Free Time was the last EP.  My best guess is that Sims Apartment Life is most likely going to be a free-standing game like Life Stories and more than likely not for the PC, probably some XBox or PS3 madness if Apartment Life is even made or even the real name of the product.

The name has been changed to EP 8 now - and from all I can see on every forum - this is the only site listing anything of the sort.  Usually you can rely on Amazon.com to list it if it's genuine.

The same Swiss/German site lists Stuff Pack 8 (http://www.abcsoftware.ch/desktopdefault.aspx?tabID=79&sku=MXSW8006256) - so who knows - but this late in the life arc of the game - I can't imagine they'd do very much for us - it's not like I expect to see Makin' Magic, Superstar or anything particularly cool out of EA only weeks before the release of TS3.

I agree with beosboxboy, it would be for xbox,ps3 etc. Since the official EA Sims2 said that Free Time was the last EP. If this may be true, I would love to have it.

They wouldnt do it for us, but for their own wallet. I´d buy it anyways.:happy8:

I think it sounds interesting and if they make a console version I will probably buy it...I spent weeks playing the Urbs on my Gamecube and I loved it,os if it is anything like that I think I want it.

Thank you for that post, Junin, that pretty much cinches it then - Apartment Life is the 8th EP, even if they change the name, it will be dealing with multi-family residences.

Maybe it will have stacks of flats that operate a bit like the university dorms or Bon Voyage hotels: you control one or more Sims in one or more flats and the rest gets greyed out. *shrug*

I like the idea, I have a feeling of foreboding though the whole concept sounds too 'complicated' for them to carry off (what with their very rigorous testing ), I guess that means I won't be getting FreeTime (yeah right :liar:).

I´ve also read about intrusive (or is it obstrusive?) homeowners lurking around, and that you have to push the reputation of the sim higher for him to visit other houses.
Something that I just can´t think of are nice houses coming with the EP.
In my view all the game houses are horrible and look ineffably.:sign11:

That's supposed to be next SP released sometime in Sept??; I think. In one of these many threads they have the pre-order link for it also. I'm with you, I can't wait to see the Screen Shots for it. Oo correction June 26th. I hope they're right.

well, apartment EP sounds interesting. I hope they puy in playground/baby stuff in it. as for IKEA SP, well I hope their taste have gone better when they release it. the clothes in HM was pretty much unuseful (though some of the meshes were useful...)

but pegasus is right, there's something not right with EA's brain cells... I at least hope no patch will be needed if there's a new EP coming. they must soon have the heads to test the games before releasing them!

The truth is the people at EA I think are hanging out a bit too much with the people on the exchange. You know people who don't even know there are other official sites. I asked on the exchange, why they keep doing this. Do they think we're all children and are unable to choose which EP's/SP's we want in our game? IKEA is no threat to their Bath and Kitchen SP they don't even make that much that goes into your bath or kitchen that I have seen in their stores here in the US and in Europe. Their biggest items seem to be for comfort, and space saving. They act like little children, you announced it before us, take it down. Wah. Just like they don't want us interchanging CC between the Sims Stories and the Sims Game. When they should be happy we even like it enough to want to interchange it. That we do get excited over some of what they produce. That usually means they've done at least something right. My post disappeared into the twilight zone. ;) Guess it's not even open for discussion there.

I'm still waiting on the EP that lets us raise livestock for either yeilding (for eggs, milk and what not) or consuming. Of course I don't want to show the slaughter of animals but it could be done the same way that fishing is done in Seasons. Oh well maybe TS3 will eventually have it (yeah right).
Actually, more people on the message boards of the TS2 site have said that they wanted a "Country Life" EP than anyone who asked for "Apartment Life".

At least the're making a 8th ep... which is alot better than just ending The Sims2 with just Free Time. Which i thought was okay... but not so great.

I hope they really suprise us with some really good stuff this time.. not the cheap tactic stuff like upgrade a sim which takes away the challage.

I want a zombie cure, i want my sims to be able to brush there teeth, i want the rumored spirial stair case. I want ceilings... Neverwinter Nights 2 made it possible.

I want some Make'n Magic and Superstar elements to at least make in this expansion if possible.

I have been told - and this is purely a contengency plan not even yet in development - if The Sims 3 experiences a major set back, that 2 more EPs are listed as possibles; no details whatsoever, just a "back-up plan" - so let's pray for major disaster to strike TS3

Personally the quicker they release the last few ep's the more horrid they will be.  EA wants to make us loose interest in Sims2 so that they can bury us in the childish and lesser Sims3.  They do this all the time, if you want an example look at the poo that is Battlefield2142, they mucked up BF1942 and BF2 so that the idiot kiddies would pore into 2142.  What did the mass meatheads get buckets of comercial poo clogging their games.  Sims3 will just be anouther story like it.  So give me more EPs that the truely great modding community will fix any day.

...and all I can say, Amen to that!  I don't want the T3 robotic game. :D

I have been telling myself I wouldn't buy a new EP, since InTeen won't be updated and the future of the InSIMenator is a tad unsure at the moment, but if they add this..
It will make it a way larger dilemma, because these options sounds sooo good!

Have you been nosing around EA's game lounge too? I went yesterday and from the looks of it your contact is correct. When the guy from Prima said it wasn't the last EP, I thought maybe one more but it looks like they still have two more EP's after Apartment life they're considering releasing. Or maybe I'm understanding that wrong, that's why I asked if you've been looking also. When they're asking if people would be interested in a couple more EP's after EP 8 is released...to me that means they already have them done or in the works? Yes? No?

I like this idea after reading the survey options, since its basically the Urbz for The Sims 2. The Urbz was the only console Sim game I really liked. It was a different concept(or setting rather) for sim game made up of a random set of mission based objectives. And the whole reputation and new social interactions in the Urbz made it entertaining to play and replay on occasion. 8)

I think the team might be worried about remaking Magic and Superstar, with those themes being optional rather than something the game needs like weather, pets, and hobbies; in order to be a more true-to-life life simulator.  Or at least things you can't argue against the game having them. They don't hinder people playing their neighborhoods they way they want with all the themes I've seen: retroville, Flintstones, medieval, etc. But Makin' Magic may be troublesome to those who play their game realistically. Superstar, hmm I see no problems. Personally, give me both remakes in a dual "TS2:Classic" expansion and I'll take back anything bad I've said about EA in the past 3 weeks. :D

TS3, I hope something happens to it too. :muahaha: I have very little interest in it, and I've work quite hard over the years to make my neighborhood the way I want it. I'm not ready to do that all over again, especially with seamless aging in the mix.

It is so sad that we want to see TS3 fail to launch but there you have it! People on this thread mentioned wanting to see the return of Makin' Magic and Superstar for TS2. If Superstar would make a return, then I'd like to see a personal audio/video studio where a sim can record a song, make an indie film and what have you. Of the objects that were in Superstar originally, I'd like to see the return of the "swin in aquarium". I always that that was the coolest thing!

If there had to be another ep after Appartment. I'd say Make'n Magic would be my choice. I love the whole magic theme. Plus i wanna see Vikki Vampress and her circus friends again...

I really am excited and looking forward to Apartment Life, but I am afraid that it is going to be buggy. Hopefully this EP isn't just some rush job to make some more money...who am I kidding. :-(

As many have said, there is so much that can still be done in TS2 that Apartment Life should not be the last EP. Here is a question. If they are so close together, why are they called "apart-ments"? Sorry old joke but I'm an old man!

From what I understand the base game was configured with 10 "slots" for expansions. It would make sense to me to use all 10 just from a point of making money; as I'm sure there will be a large number of people waiting on buying Sims3. Heck, if you got a cow that's still giving milk, why kill it?

I already know personally that I'm not going to like aspects of Sims3. I prefer to controll ALL my sims, ALL the time. I don't want them doing more "on their own" than already happens in Sims2. The whole concept of all sims moving a day forward at the same time, when you can only controll one household at a time makes me po-ed.

Thank you for that information. I really don't care too much what happens to the townies I hardly ever play them. But if I'm investing my time in a family or 6 families I want to know what's going on in their lives. I don't want to come back and they have 6 more children I know they can't support. Or their career has taken a nose dive. They've lost friends. Or worse, they're dead. Does that make sense? I like the idea of the townies growing with them that's why I like the BFF thing in Freetime. It's weird when you have the same children playing/coming home from school with great-great grandchildren and they're still children. I don't even mind when Sims go and do things without me in control. But I don't want the game making major decisions in their little AI lives.

I'm not particularly fussed about the Sims 3. They don't look right. I think EAxis is trying too hard to recreate the success of Sims 2 and they're going in the wrong direction.
Personally I'd love a couple more EP's and a few SP's too as I don't think I shall be getting Sims 3 until there's a load of custom content available. I find the format of the Sims too limiting to play without hacks and stuff.
And I agree Diana. I don't think I could hack having my Sims dying whilst I was off the lot or gaining another three kids which I don't want them to have. Yes, it would be nice for them to age at the same rate as the Sims I'm playing, hence why I also like the aging thing that came with Freetime, but from another angle I enjoy being able to control all their lives and not just part of it.

That is why I love FT so much. I love growing up the townie kids with my family sim kids.  Very useful for sims that get pregnant by townies and now I don't have to make them playable to grow them to elders.  The only problem now, what happens when the playable elder dies, or the children are now elders. Should I make them playable and let them die naturally or kill them off at the same time the playable friend die?

Same thing with teen townies, should I play them thru Uni or send them to Uni and use Inge's transporter plus painting and turn them to Uni townies? Oh my, decisions, decisions. LOL :D

lol@You! I actually did that once! I took every teen in the neighborhood and made them go to Uni, played them through. Of course the game regenerated them all. So I then had great grandchildren with the same sim teens. But at least the great-great grandparents teens were all gone. lol We can't win...

Well, of course they are trying to recreate their success, after all Sims2 is based on the break-away success of Sims1! The direction I feel they are taking is they are trying to market the game to their console customer as well as the pc customer. The bulk of EA game sales is still console based, with the pc games taking a far second. All they want to do is expand the market share and get more $$$. Of course, they are also listening to all the sheeple BAA! BAA! at the official exchange forum, most of whom are either twelve, or so scared of putting any cc or mods in their game for fear of getting a virus.

SVT - I suppose yes - I am not versed in all the subtle mods available for TS2, MissDoh or Inge would know far better, let's hope they chime in.

Hey! Just my thought what they said about taking care of meddlesome neighbors, could loosely have a connection or aspect of the original sims 1 game Makin' Magic combined with the sims2 apartment life. Even considering out of their own mouths; they said one Ep would be a new take and/or remake of an original sims 1 game and one would be a totally new game. Again just speculation, mixed with confusion, added to a conudrum, wrapped around some highly complexed enigmas............... LOL
And on the BBS in The Sims 2 Apartnet Life they said to speculate. LOL

hmmm.. like having more families in one building... I do that in my game with small families or signles.. just 2-3 floor appartment buildings and lock the door for everyone else but the family...:)

This will inevitably end up in the "lame" bin with OFB.
I just dont think it will be viable... seeing as the amount of sims on a lot slow it down that much... on an average pc more than 8 people already slow the game down, imagine 4 families of 3-4 sims..? thats crazy. and weird.

This seems to be just another previously introduced idea that they kinda recycled... think 'dorms'... Ive never had any interest with playing those horrorshows. Also, this brings to mind the 'home business' part of OFB. anyone who ever tried that and liked it, raise your hand. The flock of people that descend on your poor house and invade your house and privacy... its just way too much. Dont go there, and sure as HELL dont go near Apartment Life!

What is WRONG with EA?! Do they not listen? Do they just not care what will bring them in the most money..? Why rely on your sheep ('dont worry, we've got them so hooked, they'll buy anything!'), when you can actually try and do something worthwhile for once?

Im NOT saying they should remake Makin Magic for TS2. But take that as an example. People have been crying out for that since TS2 was released. Why dont they explore their options there like they did with Pets when people cried for that?

Apartment Life would be great, I'm hoping they'll release it for their Stories Series as well. My Pc just can't handle Sims 2 + ep's + all the cc I dl >.<

Ohh, as I've said over @ S2C, I truly hope that we get to sell our homes with OFB! As well, I hope we can rent out two spaces in our apartments, one part well the apartment, and the second a home business. Also, I hope we get to rent out a part of a "mall space" so we don't have to go through the hassle of running 500 stores on one lot, ohhh that'd also mean we're competing with other businesses on that one lot :D I'm already getting my hopes up. :rofl:

Superstar and Making Magic are both very much wanted by community members on all sites,so I don't think wi'll get them on sims2,they are maybe saving them for sims3.
I'm a slave under this game so I'll buy every sim game(EPs,not SPs)the rest of my life,LOL.

AL sounds really interesting, but then again so did OFB which got boring in less than a week. Most of the creators of my fave mods have retired, so I doubt I'll be getting AL, unless I see lots of posts saying how great it is. Then I'll decide whether or not I can live without my mods.

As for Sims 3, all I can say is Yuck!!! I am a serious control freak, (I play with Free Will off...), and I don't want my Sims doing whatever the hell they please. I want them to do what I want, when I want. LOL I typically start a family, get all the kids to teen, and send them to college. Then I play the teens through college by age (birth order). When they graduate I play the parents to grave. Then rotate through the households. If time progresses for them when I'm on another lot, then I'm toast. LOL I want time to stop for my Simmies when my RL calls.

I have wasted my money on several console versions of the Sims. They aren't fun with specific goals/challenges. I want to challenge myself. If that is what EA is going for, they can count me out!

Maybe AL will be showing a little blink of the new "freedom" the sims will have in Sims3.
Like being able to walk around town and greeting and meeting other Sims, hmm, then it could be interesting to see how they make different families selectable in one appartement block.
Do they have only the memories of having met their neighbors, or is it the same time and season on one block?

I am apparently in a small minority here. My sister and I have been wanting to have actual apartments since Uni came out. We were so excited to hear about EP8. I think if they manage to pull it off properly (and I know that's a big if) I think it will be great!

I also see people talking about Superstar and Makin' Magic, and how they are hoping for Sims 2 EPs in that vein. I am now in a very small minority when I say, I hope they don't. I thought they were the two worst EPs from the Sims 1. I would rather see new content than just recycling old ideas.

That's a good concern, but it's not fake. My best friend just bought the Sims 2 yesterday (finally, after much coercing ^_^) and that exact same brochure was in hers. It's definitely not fake.

I think if they pull it off it'll be awesome. There have only a few been a few things I've wanted to see in the game and that's one of them - along with the option to go to work with your Sims and to be able to drive to another persons house as you would a Community lot :)

But I do agree with the bits about Superstar and Makin' Magic. People have been after those for ages so why not bring those out? Even if they're trying to stick to real life as best as possible Superstar wouldn't be too far stretched as people do get famous. Magic might be a little far but still if that's what's going to get them money why aren't they cashing in on it?

I don't so much want SS or MM as far as being a celebrity or a magician. I was more wanting the cool objects. But as far a SS I would like to see a home studio where one could make indepedent films/music and have it featured on that Sim's TV/Stereo (like novels do in Free Time) as well as make money off of the sales.

Either way I am looking forward to apartment life.

It'd be a great addition for not only urban life, but also the semi-rural. Not everyone can afford to buy a house - in fact, here in Britain especially, it's getting nigh impossible to do so these days, especially for first-time buyers :pale:

I'm also drooling over the prospect of the many storytelling possibilities it'll bring... ;) Only thing is though, Inteen won't be updated past FT, unless someone else fancies taking it on (as I recall, jase gave guys that option). Plus all the other mods that'll need updating/replacing/whatever else...

I have been wanting a Carnivale or Amusement Park for the longest time.There is already hacks/mods out there where you can already have apartments in your game.I don't like to play with to many sims on a lot it slows game play down.I have no interest in this expansion pack,and it's a little to late for AL it should of been one of there first releases.

They'll release  more two expansions even if The Sims 3 goes on schedule. It's more profit for them.

You can already kinda make apartments with one of the various 'larger household' modifications out there and using those University 'claim' doors, although with those doors the Sims have to live alone for it to work. A modification for door locks that offer an 'allow family' option rather than 'allow household' would make apartments work.

This "Apartment Life" isn't a bad idea, but I don't see how it can comprise an entire expansion pack. There are more EP's I'd rather see, like hospital as mentioned by GingerGal08 or maybe one where you follow Sims to work/school instead of them disappearing for x amount of hours.

Well not sure if anyone else has seen this, however the Sims 2 main site has officially announced Apartment life as 8th EP...and there is a flyer announcing it also in my copy of Kitchen and bath stuff.  You know what I would like??? I'd  like a bedroom and baby stuff pack...that's most of my CC downloads cause the ones included in EA's is rather lacking.  Though I do like the new baby items in Freetime.

Kattenijin..I sooo totally agree with you on not liking the fact that my other families will be carrying on their lifes when you play one family!!!  That is the main reason I am going to wait to even think about getting TS3.  I love the idea that we will be able to SEE our sims go about their day, and they will be able to actually get OUT and around...but I'm not sure I like it enough to give up the "God" factor in my game.  I love making two families and setting it up so that their children fall in love get married etc....that's pretty much going to be impossible from what i've read of TS3

AL could be what we where waiting for. Just think, being able to visit private homes like community lots. Hooking up with a neighbor ( your apartment or Mine). Asking your neighbor to baby sit for you if you have to run to a store and pick up a few things. Low rent. new objects

I already make apartments and whole blocks in my game to simulate that realtime feeling, this EP will just help make it be closer to life.

I wonder how much longer we'll have to wait until we get another update about Apartment Life?

I wonder, for those of us who like to have multiple properties courtesy of the stay-things shrub, will we be able to do this with apartments also? move back into an apartment when we feel like it? and leave it empty while we live somewhere else?

One of the things that really bothered me about TS2 was how basic it was when it first started. For me, a game sequel should have at least the same features as the first, but TS2 came with only straight stairs, no openable windows, etc. I hope they revamp the stairs system for this one, or at least include some decent spiral/curved/bent stairs for those who like a little more variety. As for this alleged EP, I'm all for it! I'd love to have my sims live in an apartment, that would be rad.

I'm really stoked about this new EP.  I've wanted proper apartments for ages now, and if they manage to get it right, I can see it becoming one of my fave EPs (yes, I actually loved the dorm thing from University).

With regard to TS3 - I'm not in the slightest bit excited about it - there's too much life left in TS2 to be bothered about a new game.  The screens I've seen don't jump out as brilliant and I'm sure it'll take a PC of NASA proportions to run it on.

In my opinion appartment life didn't need to be it's own EP. There are only a few key features like Landlords and rent system and such to really make it work...This could easily have been added with OFB no? It would have gone well with the theme too (and I had also expected this feature to come with OFB back in the day) :-P

Ceilings sound like a neat idea though so they do have my curiosity on that one...

Oh sims 3..... I am not ready for it yet, I finally feel like I have a good collection of CC that I love and I am not willing to give it up just yet...

though i'm not opposed to the apartment ep, i would have liked to see a mm ep out first... a loooooong time ago, actually. i mentioned it sometime after ofb came out. had it named and all. personally, i'm one of the least likely to buy s3 simply because 1 all the cc for s2 has given me a god complex, 2 my pc probably can't handle it, and 3 i can't afford a new one if it can't. plus, there's the bug aspect and the fact that this so called 'upgrade' wasn't needed when all they really had to do to keep customers happy was keep making eps. and no, i don't include their selected sheeple. they don't count.

Well, sounds much more interesting than EP7. But if they really want to make me happy, they should release some kind of great-complete-overall-patch for all EP's. Or some kind of real-life-fix with adults behaving like adults again (and not pillowfighting all the time, for example) or even "more" adult, it's time for sims to get drunken and smoking cigarettes and taking drugs and having real problems (instead of wants like "buy me a toy" and "wanna play on the couch").

I wonder what kind of preparation or trendspotting EAxis does before working on EPs (uhmmm...reading sims-related forums? No, no, too simple....must be Tarot-cards or the flight of the swallows), as far as i can see, with my limited knowledge, there could be made lots of money with a rated 16 or 18 version, that provides adult behaviour (where teens can woohoo from the beginning without mod, for example, like they do all over the world -sigh- ),
and with themed EPs too, that contain consequent and concludent overrides for in-game-structure (cars, schoolbus, service, etc.).
That could be SciFi (i do miss the teleporterstairs of Sims1), Western, Medieval, Victorian, the 50s, those i'd buy all.
Or other themes i noticed recently, like sufficient farming (a real deal petEP) or hospital. But obviously EA wants to keep it rated 0. They are not keeping customers happy that way, at least not for long. Instead they (indirectly) make the customers do, what should be their job, and i bet, they're complaining about so much mods and hacks circulating, in addition.

Oh I totally agree with you both! I would be in heaven if they made an 18+ version of the Sims. LOL! I would buy that expansion pack over Apartments any day!

I doubt they would make it but I still wish they made it as an ep so that people could CHOOSE to have those aspects in the game if they wanted to.

So when I bought my K&B SP last week, I always look at the leaflet inside to see what's coming out next... And I literally squealed in delight when I saw APARTMENTS! I've been wanting apartments in the game for so long - I've tried to make my own, but the stupid people keep invading each other's spaces. I'm sure there's a mod or hack out there somewhere for it, but I try to keep my hacks and mods to a minimum to avoid conflict (Just the well-known staples: InSim, InTeen, ACR; and a few fixes).

As for Sims 3... Took a look at the previews for it when I first heard about it, and I'm not entirely sure I'm ready to give up the few hundred dollars I've spent on Sims 2 to go Sims 3. For what they're offering - sure, more flexible CAS would be nice, don't really care about the moving-from-lot-to-lot thing... I really don't see much of a difference.

It's awesome. I'm building up a whole city for years now, and everyone has his own charakter, his own story, his own family and traditions, his own job and intererests, his own biography, and when those individuals meet in the park, what do they do? There are really cool things in this EP. Spiral stairs, ceilings, playground, witches and wizards. Toddlers hugging. And the vibrating bed:dance:

The shouldn't have named it Apartment Life, apartments are a very small part it seems.

If securom is such an issue getting this new ep or the previous eps with securom, just wait till a nocd.exe is released then buy it. As long as you don't run the "original" executable securom won't install on your pc, simple.

I am so not ready for The Sims 3. I feel like the original Sims was around WAY longer than The Sims 2 has been. It still feels fresh and new to me, even though I bought it as soon as it came out. They are definitley moving way too fast with the Sims 3. Kind of depressing.

I was very excited about this ep until I read up on the version of securom they're using.  Even without the ten day registration crap there's still the problem of it destroying our computer functionality on top of this "limited installation" shit.

If I want disposable games I'll pick up free demo discs at my local game store.  I travel so I install my sims games on both my desktop and laptop computers, so that's two installs down right off the bat, plus when I upgrade to another system or if something goes wrong that requires a reinstall, such as hard system crashes (which happens a lot to the average consumer!)

I expect my games to work unless broken.  Having to buy new copies because the company is being anal and trying to sell me a product with no significant lifespan is unacceptable.  They're blindly shooting bullets and hitting their loyal and legitimate customers while utterly missing the intended target.  This won't hurt the pirates, it will hurt the law abiding consumers.

Will the digital download still have that minimum install? Because for all the EPs I've bought online, there is something else you can buy with it to have the ability to download it as many times as you want for 2 years.

There are 2 versions. One for the Nintendo DS, a handheld game system, and one for PC.

Okay, so we now have Apartment Life that has some elements of Makin' Magic. If this is the last EP then so be it but I would not object to there being a Super Star tribute in TS2. Heck I'd like to see Drew Carey make a return to The Sims franchise!

It looks like Apartment Life (AL) will have only a minor aspect of Super Star (SS) in that your Sim in AL will get a "reputation score" that seems to work in a similar way that "Star Power" worked in SS. It's sad to think that's what Makin' Magic and Super Star have become in TS2. :(

Yep, it is sad. I was looking forward to a SS EP, but I guess have to be happy for what I get. Sure miss the tour bus and crazy stalker. :D

AL seems like improvement to the sims 2 I must say, though I think they should have made better Paranormals (Wizards and Witches? com'on! do what you have done with FT and include 2 paranormals! zombies + genies were great!) I'd love to see the new intections, and with alot of clothes and hairs, jewerly!

Thanks for the links Lewisb! I saw in one video that a male witch turned a townie into a witch so it is like the vampire or warewolf component from the other EP's. I just hope the witches will be able to wear normal clothes too and not just witches robes. I hope the modders will be able to make a mod for the witch to also be genetic, and i wonder if teens can be witches too? That would be cool. :happy8:

don't know, kev. i look more to actions than persoality traits. for every time i've re-installed my game [had to do that a lot] and played that family, lilith would retaliate, but angela and mary-sue would always start it, usually by slapping her. somehow, i don't think the nice score matters much.

I've just got to say that I cannot WAIT for the talented modding community does with the new clothes meshes. I think there's a lot of potential there and I'm sure we'll have a lot of interesting stuff.

Am I the only person that dont feel happy with the witches? I mean, once again they give us two paranormals, but again, witches and zombies (like the genie and zombie from freetime...) and even the witches have no good.

Nope.  :lol:  I'm among those few who get annoyed with the "paranormals" in the game anyways.  They're distracting and annoy my sims to a point... and the only thing that's allowed to annoy MY sims is ME.  :punch:

Don't get me wrong, they're cool to a point... but EAxis doesn't know how to code them so they aren't so persistent in annoyances.  (*recalls own personal "vampire" spam on community lots upon buying and installing NL for the very first time...*) I'll just leave it at that.  :happy8:

I really could do without the paranormals. I never turn my sims to vampires or the like and I hate going downtown for fear I won't be paying attention and my sim will be turned.

I look forward to having apartments and seeing what else is coming with AL. I will probably not mess with the witches much.

I don't like the witch concept, although I don't mind the magic. I wish it was handled like Sims 1 with sims gaining skills in learning spells by going to Magic Town, or some special lot. Oh well, can't always get what we want. :D

I can only imagine that you select the apartment the same way you select dorms. Although, how you'd cram eight people into a single apartment is beyond me.

It could be that some of the infant toys aren't available for purchase on a residential lot. I think that the screens shown are on a residential lot (to be honest, I couldn't tell because the quality isn't that great). But maybe some of the other toys are available for placement only on community lots.

But, they said they weren't planning on doing another EP. So they have to put the infant stuff in!

I'll just wait with buying it, until it's confirmed whether they're in there or not. :/

Zuperbuu, I'm 99% positive that they've included SecuRom, but there are ways of getting around it if you're concerned that it's going to rip your computer apart.

Thats the reason that the second I get the cd's out of my computer I scan for viruses and download a crack that will prevent the work of SecuROM.

I think they should have tested the game with all EPs. Too many EP specific interactions don't work on an Apt. lot, especially the "common" areas. I am hearing about NL dating and the driveways don't work in those areas, and the freetime hobby items don't work. I definitely will not install til the issues are addressed. Crazy!!!

It works in apt lots. One of the EAxis apts has the "secret door" in it.
Just needs to be set up before conversion to apartmentbase lot type.
