Title: Quick question
Post by: AxelVal on April 21, 2008, 05:30:53 pm
Now that I've packaged up all my lots I'm thinking of something.

Are those files automatically put into the neighborhoods folder?  Or are they considered 'downloads'?

-I'm testing something right now.  If it works I'll edit this post/delete it if I can figure out how to do that.

if you package a lot, I think it will show up as a packaged file in the PackagedLots folder, but the original house will still be there (if I'm not mistaken)

I mean after I install the packages.

Sorry for the confusion but I did actually find those on my own after a bit of searching *laugh*.

Also, is it okay to delete occupied houses from the house bin?
Because I seem to have installed the same family twice.  And I think I did the same on the other town.

All houses you install are put into the lot bin.  They don't become part of the neighborhood until you place it in one.

Occupied houses in the lot bin should be safe to delete.  Once you packaged the house with sims, those sims lost all memories of the previous neighborhood.  If when you install the occupied house, it remains in the lot bin, too, you can delete the one from the lot bin to prevent duplicates in your neighborhoods.

Cool, thanks Ancienthighway.

So the houses will be in the neighborhoods folder once I actually put them in town then?  Or will I have to play them first?

Should be there as soon as you place the lot into the neighborhood.  You can confirm this by looking in the neighborhood lots folder before and after.

Yay, thank you!

*I think I missed a few houses while packaging.  Oops!
Good thing I still have my back-up neighborhood folders.*
