Title: Something werid happened to my sims game
Post by: simpleprincess on July 16, 2008, 11:14:51 am
I think my graphics card is under pressure, some error messages came up and my sims crashed. I think I have way too many downloads, but isnt more the ones with high polygon counts that will disrupt things? If I was to delete those ones how when looking into my documents sims 2 downloads do I know whcih downloads have them?

High poly count causes the frame rate to drop, become sluggish and stutter  when the mesh is on screen.
Usually very affects low end machines.
High poly meshes should not make sims 2 crash.

Check to see when the error comes up.
See if it is located to a specifc area you go to where possibly a sim is causing the crash.

I once replaced the skintone of a sim incorrectly and whenever I played the household the sim was in the game would crash.

Also id the sim decided to randomly turn up to a Community lot.

It was in the neighbourhood view in pleasantview. It was all working fine up until today. Ill start it up again and see if I get the messages again and ill write down what it says and post it here, maybe that will help.

Sounds like it could be corrupted texture of a lot in peasant view.
I'd say the game will run without issue if you played it the whole day with a fresh start.
It's most probably an issue with something in the downloads folder.
