Title: Heath Ledger as The Joker (Update 10/12/08: Bat Boxers) Post by: siberwolf on July 24, 2008, 08:03:52 pm (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a357/siberwolf/wss.jpg) Alright peeps... I requested a Sim version of the Joker from The Dark Knight but had no luck with responses, so finally I thought 'what the heck?', I'll just give it a shot myself. I was kind of reluctant at first, because I've never really made clothing or make up before, and wasn't sure I could even pull it off... well, I ended up being happy enough with the results to share, so here he is. :) The clothing is -not- perfect (the left pant leg is funky - if anyone wants to fix that, be my guest), but for my first time making clothing, I thought it turned out ok. There were a couple of clothes meshes from other creators that I was looking at, but none had the coat long enough, so I just went with the Maxis mesh. But it was making the mask that was the real tricky part. I used the Maxis mime mask as a base and kind of did a cut and paste job with whatever full face pictures of the Joker I could find, and then smoothed everything out. It's not perfect either, but it's the best I could do... The mask is removable make-up, of course. Which leads me to the Joker's skintone, which I thought would be neat to modify... When you remove the mask, he looks like this: (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a357/siberwolf/skintone-scars.jpg) I used the Pale Louis skintone and simply added the scars to both cheeks, made the teeth more yellow, and gave him dark circles under his eyes, using that one photo of the Joker sans makeup from the film as a guide. I did attempt to make him look like Heath as best I could. To clarify, since a few ppl remarked about this... this is not my first sim (I've made many more than I've released), but it was the first time I tackled custom clothes / make up. I was shocked it even turned out decent enough. It was difficult to find a good quality fully face-forward picture of him to use for the mask... in fact I used at least two different photos and combined them to make it. Some of the wrinkles likely got washed out due to my trying to make the different pictures smooth out into one coherent mask. :/ Honestly, I doubt I'll go back and edit anything... if I would, more than anything I'd probably edit the pants on his outfit. In light of this... xxTheObsessyxx, if you're still reading this, I feel really bad for suggesting you needed University... and possibly making you pay for an EP that you may or may not really want. About the hair mesh, for some reason, beosboybox deleted all of his work from here. They are still available in that adult forum where he used to be an administrator, but not at TSR. But that shouldn't be a problem, since you've included the mesh, and he allows that. Thanks for sharing! eta: Just check him in Bodyshop and he looks very good! Although I've noticed a strange file added in this download. The name of the file is: ce238741be8dcacff5e1a5ddc1f84c42.package and I don't know the use of it. You'll have to unzip the file first (it's a Sims2Pack file) and then double click on the Sims2Pack file to install it into your game. First, if you haven't already, you'll want to download the zip file at the bottom of the first post in this thread, called "TDK-Joker.Sims2Pack.zip" There are potentially two types of files you're going to find in any zip/rar file containing custom content; .package files and .sim2pack files. The first (.package) get extracted into Documents/EA Games/Sims 2/Downloads. If you don't have a Downloads file, you can go ahead and create on, but make absolutely sure you spell the way I am spelling here. Downloads. Plural with a capital 'D'. The second type (sims2pack) of file is the format you'll find just about every sim and house you download. You can double click on them and they'll self install into your game, but you could run into problems if the creator has EPs you don't. A good way to get around this is to download and install the Clean Installer (http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/). This will install sims2packs and let you see everything in the file. As I said before, this is useful for downloading sims made with EPs or SPs you don't have. Once the sim is in your game, you can find it in game by going into CAS and clicking on the sim bin button on the console. It's the icon that has a group of six stylized humanoid figures. This is where you'll also find the sims you made in Bodyshop. Hope that helps.
