    Reason of delay
Some wonder why the Sims 3 was delayed. Most think it is for fixing bugs, but in a Gamespot article, EA made clear that this extra time is used to market the game better. They see The Sims 3 as one of the most important launches in their company's history.

well they damn well better release it without all the chuffing bugs in it then - perhaps if it's so damn important they may actually make an effort this time?

but then ....... this is EA we're talking about :S

Ew look how fake and cartoonish those screenshots look? It's sad that the only screenie that looks somewhat realistic is the sim in the purple go-go boots  if the game looks like that when I get it it will be going right back to the store for a refund! that is just sickingly dissapointing if the sims look like that, I mean look at the child in the rainboots [WTF?] They look sims from TS1!

Yeah you are totally right, i thought the same thing. EA is tryin to make the sims 3 looks so realistic that it looks cartoonish - almost fake. It's a dissapointment. and i am happy with the sims 2 anyways, despite the new things ea is adding to the sims 3 sims 2 is perfectly fine and the graphics are way better. whats the point in fixing something that doesnt need to be fixed? I dont want sims 3..LOL :-\

I got an e-mail from Amazon UK last night to tell me that the launch had been delayed to June i got so p!ssed off that I cancelled my order.  Now I'm calmer I'm going to have to re-pre-order the thing.  I was getting really excited the closer it got (I don't really know why :-D) and now I'm just ho-hum again.  :'(

play.com have changed it now to 5th June, but it still has the prima guide as being released on 20th Feb - if that is the case then I guess we can safely say that the extra months delay isn't for adding new content!

Im just astonished that EA with all those creators couldnt have made up sims that look better than that.I hope sales will be considerably down when It comes out, show our dissatisfaction.lol.

In my opinion and this could be just me talking blah blah blah but I think honestly with the economy in such shambles that EA thinks that there not going to be able to make there quota for this fiscal year releasing the game in Feb, I mean it's like this half the damn country is out of job and it doesn't seem like to me that the president is doing anything to help the crumbling economy like he 'said' he would, and selling crap like there showing in those screenshots do you really think people is going to shell out 40-50$ for a game that looks WORSE than its precessor? :p

I think that delay has more to do with the Spore fiasco and SuckyROM/DRM mess than anything else. They can hardly afford another fiasco with their best-selling game; also, they are probably waiting to see which way all those lawsuits will be going. And if they sre not sure by June they will think of another excuse and move the date to September.

But worry not. We can all play Duke Nukem Forever while we are waiting.  ;D

OMFG I was soooooooooo totally pissed when I went to my local walmart to find the game only to learn that it had in fact not been released thursday AND that it would be like another 4 freakin months before it's supposedly released for real. NOT COOL! I was going to get the game as a birthday present to myself(my b-day was yesterday, I'm 26 now) and now I gotta wait. I'm mad!  1bleh 2gah 2cry

It doesn't. TS3 will definitely be using it. We know because it is already there, I have seen the pix before they were taken down, showing BOTH SecuROM forms in operation.

we're getting close. es games is currantly on the nose big time within the gaming comunity, and as a result losing money hand over fist, not that their games are bad, they're quiet good, it's just their idiotic persistence with securom and several other rediculous drm. projects that have been leaked out that have got them to this stage, 1.2 million illegal coppies of spore and counting is a serious cash loss, and the vast majority done out of spite. ea games must get their next cash cow, sims 3 right or join the others in the corporate graveyard.
it's my opinion that sims 3, as it was to be released  in feb. would have been a major flop, securom, 10 day activation cycles, very little if none custom content etc. just to much negative press, if i were ea games i would be pulling the game and doing a major re-write, but thats just my opinion.

man they are delaying the game to june 3

“In the case of Sims 3, we’re moving this title to June 3 to give us additional time to build the worldwide marketing campaign a title like this deserves,” said CEO John Riccitiello.

hehe...  hehe...  hahahah!!  Umm...  What a dumbass.  I guess it might make them more money in the short term (higher sales), but I think that in the end they are just shooting themselves in the foot.  The number of true fans of the game who are pissed off by the delay, knowing that it was *purely* a marketing decision will hopefully knock some sense into them.  No, I'm not going to even bother hoping that will be the case.
