Title: Nanny kidnaps infants?
Post by: vickylougrl on September 01, 2008, 09:52:04 am
I have no idea why this is happening but it's so irritating.  I will have my sim hire useless nanny because they are exausted.
Nanny comes she takes mediocre care of baby, makes messes half prepared food then....when it's time to leave she tries to take the baby.  Apparently the game won't let her get away with this crime so she throws baby in front of mail box!  Ugh!  Why??
It's happened twice on two different lots.

I have all the patches so I don't know why this is  happening.  Anybody know what I can do?

Here is some pictures I snapped of attempted kidnapping.

Here she goes trying to take baby her acomplice waits in van.

Getting in van with baby.

Look at these two.....they look like psycho kidnappers.

They can't take baby so they throw baby on road by mail box!  Poor baby!

That's horrible!  Poor baby indeed. :(

I have heard of that happening before, but that time the nanny actually got away with kidnapping the baby.  I don't think anyone has figured out just why this happens.  Scary bug though.

Oh boy!  It really sux's cause this couple works so they need nanny ugh...I guess they are going to have to build a Servo to take care of baby.

ooh!  I snapped pics of the other attempted kidnapping by psycho nannnies!
This is Brandy Broke's house and baby.
Nanny leaves home with baby in her arms like she is going to take it.
Then has second thoughts?! and puts baby on grass.

Another infant left on the lawn by the trash can by Nanny!  Ugh...I hate the Nanny.

I had no problems with the nanny until my legacy founder needed to call one, 'cause she was shattered, hubby was working, and they already had three cats to look after. Given the story's posted I'll try not to spoil anything:

Toddler filled 'its' nappy, but all the nanny would do was put the tot in the chair, take 'it' out and put on the floor, grab a bottle, put back in chair... rinse and repeat. Although she did empty a potty before I'd had enough. Ugh... never again.

LOL!  The frizzy haired one above is obsessive compulsive about bathing.  Baby grew into a toddler now she is going to wash baby to death.  I went ahead and had hubby build two servos they are at least controllable.

Nanny still comes even tho she got fired and washes their clean toddler over and over again. ugh....

I hate using the nannies. I had a couple hire one and the first thing she did was start an argument with the mother, which leaves her furious with the nanny. Even if you fire them, then still keep coming. I'd rather just have only one parent work, or move in another sim to help out the family. Servos may be an answer, but I got tired of them too, always wanting to be social with the family, but at least I never had one try to kidnap the baby.

Well on the bright side, Apartment life you can actually ask a neighbor to watch the kids now! ( if you have the EP) Definately dont use the butler to do it because he doent really pay them attention!

I actually had the Nanny kidnap my toddler - completly vanished from my house. Did you use the 'dismiss' on the nanny when she did it? My nanny behaved for a few days before the kidnapping, then when I dismissed her, she snapped and decided to take the kid with her. XD

oh boy thats stinks!  So far it seems only to be infants no toddlers but haven't really played any toddlers for too long recently so yeah it's possible they would want to take them too!
Ugh!  I'm starting to think this is some new recent bug cause i'm seeing baby thefts a lot now!

My nannies have never kidnapped the kids, but one time there was one that just wouldn't leave, even when I dismissed and fired her. She stayed in the lot for "days" and they kept sending in another nannies to do her job..SO, I would have two useless nannies at the same time, who would start fighting with the parents.

The best place for these psycho nannies is 'The Nanny Jail' :-P

LOL..I had a nanny kidnap a baby in NL a few times. She got away with it too. Just input boolprop testingcheatsenabled true and spawn the tomb stone of L and D. Then select get family member. You can retrieve your missing kid that way if your psycho nanny snatches it. I've also had the parents take the babies and toddlers to work with them. The tomb stone is a good thing to keep on the lot at all times and doesn't require an active cheat to work.

I'm using that too now I've found it, but that won't help with a legacy.

Fortunately now I've found other means, so she's history anyway ;)

I had a visitor walk off with a baby that had been set down on the front lawn. The mother had been instructed to "say goodbye to everyone" and the visitor just walked away with the baby.  I exited without saving and got the kid back that way.

I had this happen with a kitten last night. One of my sim's friends came to visit, and stayed there all night, playing chess by herself while the others slept. She picked up this kitten, then I got this dialogue about "You invited me to stay over but didn't let me get any sleep, I'm leaving" and she walked off with the kitten still in her hands. Luckilly he ended up - I dunno if it was originally by the mailbox, but I heard him whining about trying to get up the stairs, so at least he was still there.

What was really stupid about that was, I hadn't invited her to stay, and even if I had, there was a spare room for cryin' out loud! Nothing stopping her sleeping if she wanted to, she just stayed at the damn chessboard ¬_¬

lol! I have had that too!  A total stranger will linger around the apartment in my case.  He wouldn't leave and stop whining.  Then like I not sure after a full day of stalking the apartment windows I got the same line as you.
I had locked the front door so no lot sims could come into the apartment so I wonder if that had something to do with it?
He couldn't get in so he lingered around the apartment until he finally stated he was invited but not allowed to sleep.
I wonder what would happen if I allowed him he probably would have tried to steal my couple's toddler.

I noticed this when I installed apartments did not see it with seasons or freetime.
The uninvited overnight guest and attempted abductions.

The abductions have been a problem before AL I think - at least with kittens/babies/etc being taken to work - but this uninvited guest thing is something new I gather. Others have reported that too. I could understand it if we had invited a guest to stay over without taking into account beds, but when they invite themselves and there's a spare room on lot... :x

Uninvited guests isn't new by any means. I only have Uni-NL only installed and it happens at least 3-4 times a generation for me, probably more. Sometimes someone will show up and just walk in, make themselves at home and take over. They fall asleep at the table in their plate and eventually get up, wet themselves and leave. From time to time they just get up and die. Happens with the nannies too, but they won't die. Crazy glitches we all have to put up with...lol.

I meant the sims showing up - ringing the doorbell if you're lucky :P - staying all night, and then complaining that they had nowhere to sleep and leaving. That I believe is an AL-specific issue, with the new way they handle guests and the "Say Goodbye" thing.

Nope, I've had them show up late, ring the bell and, stay all night, complain, then storm off. Five minutes later they come back and kick over the trash can. Nothing new there..lol. Have tons of trash, bugs and flu on my lots...

Oh, really? Wonder why it's only now I've started getting it then... still, I've only had it once so far - and thankfully, she never kicked the bin over :D

... she took the kitten instead ¬_¬

Don't know.. Could be your current ep configuration. Glad to hear they don't kick the can for you. They love to steal my news papers, kick the can and occasionally leave a burning bag of poo near the door. Of course, the lovely present seems only associated with horrible dates, but I'm waiting for the glitch..lol.

Oh, I don't need disgruntled visitors kicking the bin over - I've had that enough times with complete strangers. And the stealing of papers. Work that one out... :oogle:
