One of my favourite things to do in the game is plan out elaborate sim-weddings :)

Last night I planned out a type of wedding I'd never had before...A garden wedding, under the stars.

The bride and groom were Hannah and Elijah.

Wow! You guys have such beautiful weddings for your sims! I usually just buy an arch, put it in front of the garden, and tell them to get married! xD Every once in awhile I buy a wedding cake or the champagne bottle, but I usually delete them pretty fast 'cause I get tired of the guests toasting every ten seconds.

You have inspired me to stick it out next time, and at least try to plan a beautiful wedding. ^^ I'll post some pictures when I'm done to see what you think!

Wow, these photos are amazing! Wedding pictures that really get me are lots of pink, flowers, candles (e.g romatic glows) and cake! Gotta love the cake! And BlackKat - those prewedding photos are funny! :P

I am planning an uber rich and grand wedding party, and the pics should be done soon. The catch is, the two are really really playful sims, so it's going to be a circus theme e.g with bubble blowers, jugglers, clowns, ferris wheels etc although I really want to hold a romantic sims wedding! Any tips for my funky carnival of a wedding? There will be face paints, of course! Lol.

blackkat: Where is the mother's and brides-maid's hair from in those pictures? I love it! And the wedding looks gorgeous too.. I tried to make a nice wedding foir one of my favorite sim girls, but it bombed. xD I'll just have to practice more.

I took 20 pictures of a wedding from my sims. Thats a record for me. I actually took 41 photo's from them during that playsession.
And usually I hardly ever take pictures, I just play. But this pictureforum is inspiring me a LOT.

I did something I haven't done before...had a double wedding.  It was fitting, because the brides were a set of twins.

I decided to have this one entirely indoors, since it kinda rained during my last reception.

this was my first wedding after getting Celebration Stuff, and most of the content I used was not custom (Just the rose petals, and the accessories and some of the formalwear or whatnot) so I kinda places some pictures in a way to show off my new content instead of my sims, because I'm just silly like that.  ;)

I think Enayla's Annika and Ashtaroth's Tod are the cutest couple....this is my favorite picture of their after-wedding photo shoot, possibly one of my favorite pictures ever. Bryant's wife died while his twins, Landon and Kalise were still infants, and Chloe had just separated from her former husband when they met. Bryant's deceased wife's parents didn't appreciate him moving on so soon after their daughter's death and caused a lot of problems for Chloe & Bryant.

There are various sites around the community.  The most famous is pronupsims.com.  I think that is right.  I usually find stuff on Modthesims2.com and thesimsresource.com.
To ensure that the dress is what they should be wearing at wedding time, you should have pets ep and you can wear the formal wear you set up. I hope that is the right ep.

This is the last wedding I did. It was for the contest Ethnic Bride for Aidan and Korin Kavanaugh. I love them, even though she's not my brightest sim. :-P It was the last elaborate wedding I did and that was a couple months back. Since then my sims have been getting married at their houses.

It took more time to find and then download everything that I wanted to use, then to actually do the wedding. My favorite part was the castle. I downloaded it from MTS2 but never had a use for it until their wedding. :D

how do u get sims 2 marry in a diffrent dress cause mine olny wears the normal kind it comes with please help?

Do you have the Open For Business EP (or higher) installed?  If you have that, then whenever your sims get married, they should automatically change into their normal formal clothing... anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here.  

If you don't have anything higher than NL, I think TwoJeffs (http://www.moreawesomethanyou.com/smf/index.php/topic,1231.0.html) over at MATY still has a hack that allows sims to wear whichever outfit they want during weddings.  ;)

Pick a white formal outfit, before the wedding. If you are talking about the default wedding dress by maxis, buy that dress and pick it for formalwear. Hope that helps.

This was my first try of throwing a truly elegant wedding for my Sims (NOT for throwing parties)...and I half succeded. I still have one more to plan out, but...I need the dress for it first (I requested it, and if you look (http://www.insimenator.org/showthread.php?t=54657), it's an instant giveaway as to what theme the next one will be.

Backstory:

I created two brothers-Alesander (left) and Carlos (right) Mendoza as teens, killed their parents, waited until they were old enough to be shipped off to college because I have inTeen, and then finally sent them. Carlos is a family Cancer, Alesander is a Fortune Pisces.

Now, I built a college for them and plunked down a pre-built dorm. I have SaraMK's (from MATY) empty templates and a set of default replacement face templates and Louis' default replacement skins. The game gave me this dormie-Joanna Bradford. She's quickly become my favorite sim because she's the first Sim who I actually paid attention to her wants and needs for. I used to pay attention, but it was like-"Ok...I bought you your $2000 stereo...roll up some wants for your girlfriend or something...". Not Joanna. During her years at college, she would roll up wants for Alesander, then food, then college, back to Alesander, and so on. I bought her an MP3 player-it's her new favorite toy and she makes me laugh or smile constantly. She's a Family Aquarius, but she's not like most Family sims I have, who cannot. flipping. leave people alone. EVAR. Always have to run after and hug people and prance around like a peacock after work. Yet they're my favorite aspiration-go figure.

So, she has two bolts for each of the brothers, but I had her go with Alesander, simply because I like him better, he's more fun loving than poor serious Carlos.

The wedding I had in the meantime, was Carlos'. He had no such luck finding a pretty dormie, so I sent him to the matchmaker and she pulled out...Tyler Redzewski, a custom townie of mine. Who's very pink. Worships pink. Annoyed the sin out of me in a failed Apocalypse challenge because she gave birth to identical twin boys the first generation, and is one of the yuppie, gotta-hug-everyone-now Family Sims I described. She's also a Family Cancer. She and Carlos fell hard for each other (two bolts), here they are getting engaged.

What a great looking party Sliim.  The twins are soooo cute, I can't wait for pics when they grow up!  Imani is simply gorgeous, and you know how much I love Special ;).  Jordan's a beautiful young woman, I love the pic of the mother and father kissing her. Ahhh, young love!

I know! I know, go ahead gang and make fun of me, but I couldn't resist this wedding.  I said earlier, that I was waiting on bon voyage to give another wedding, but situations in this lot called for a change.

First to start, this is Erik Swain ( the uni student in the bin from Sim State University) and what was suppose to be his fiancee until bon voyage, Hallie Similac. ( get it.. since she's a family sim also).  So I graduated them and got them working in their small home, til they made so much money, they were able to get this nice lot by the coast. This is what happened next:

Yep, Pandora. Drinking champagne makes the guest have to go potty faster, they will not stop drinking and the toasting goes on forever.  I usually let them toast one time, then "moveobjects on" and take the bottle away, put it in one of the couple's inventory, to use on their golden anniversary. Do that with the cake also. For sentimental value. ;)

Finally, Jason Larson and Rainelle Neegnia are married and expecting. They were married on Twikki Island, in a little island church. The entertainment: soaping up the fountains out front. In the last pic, Sgt. Pepper thought that was hilarious. LOL!

Yep. I don't like for my sims to be pregnant before the wedding or on vacation. I can't anything done. Forget it with the champagne, they will drink until they all have to pee. One toast, then I take it away, to the bride's inventory. Sorry to see the bride past out, it's a blessing to see the limo come up, because the couple gets refreshed. I love the dress.

The bride in this wedding (Marta Carter) was supposed to stay dead. I was trying for a male pizza deliverer and she popped up. Akiko (see my other wedding) was supposed to be a lot holder and killer, but I felt terrible for the two of them, so Akiko got her own life, but not before resurrecting Marta. Marta brought Darrel Brewer home from work and poof, the rest was history. Even though I think he's fugly as sin, I figured what the hey? Let them be happy. Marta is a family Sim, and I'm actually going to indulge her 10 kids/20 grandkids wants. I must really be insane.

Also: I envy all of you who have Bon Voyage. Community lot weddings work in my game, but I have the annoyance of the couple's engagement rings never becoming wedding rings, do they in BV? Plus I'm itching to throw a destination wedding and a church wedding, but until then, boring backyard weddings for me.

I apologize if the photos are a bit blah. I didn't get any good photos of the backyard all prettied up for them-or decent photos and closeups of the bride or groom all dressed up. Marta was also pregnant in this wedding-however she didn't collapse and pee herself during the wedding because I took care of her major needs before the ceremony.

Thanks lewis! They sure did smustle all night long. The only thing that stopped them was the pickpocket (I was never good with names). As soon as he stepped in the building they all stopped and went home. I zoomed in on my self sim and saw she was giving him dirty looks! xD

Not a cheat.  You use those "one more slot" thingies.  they are these invisible shevles that you can place anywhere, at many different heights.  You're able to make tables, endtables, counters or whatever look cluttered if you wish...

They have different sets of them at MTs2 and TSR, that I have seen

The first is the wedding of Imogen Connolly and Justin Williams-Connolly, a burglar NPC. Not many pictures because I was more eager to get them cracking on making a child-Imogen was 10 days from elder and the clock was ticking!

Ah well, Jeffrey finally went into platinum because I had them go into the hot tub. I haven't had sims in the love tub since I first had the game, so I was a few years overdue. I also found out that the candles on the love tub will restart after a while, strangely. A hack? I don't remember.
