I hate one of the conversation action, when they pointing finger up, bobbed-bobbed head..and then the eyes schlera goes creepy and the mouth moving unnaturaly---if you familiar with this ;)
The other one..who in the world dissagree with people and then the reaction is like stuffing your ears with fingers, "DADADADA...I can't hear you...!!"

And when a kid gets a good report card, the tribal dance they do in front of any adult living in the house, causing said adult to cheer. Usually the unfortunate adult is in the pool or busy having a life, which gets put on halt to watch billy have a fit.

Also - i hate how when some sim needs to go to work, and youve got a queue of stuff to do already, the "go to work" action pops itself in right before the last action! Then you have to cancel it out, make sure the action gets done first and then go find the carpool vehicle and tell them to go to work again...a minor peeve. But still ANNOYING.  It could have been solved if they just queued properly.

Talking of dances - how about the song and dance family sims do when they get back from work? I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't go on so long ¬_¬

And then there's the foot stomping when they can't get somewhere - how I love the noroutefail :D

When I have free will on, and my sim starts whining about having to go to the bathroom/needing sleep/food/whatever. OMFG, the toilet/stove/bed is RIGHT THERE!. You have free will, so don't freaking whine at me! *sim slap with a nerf bat*

some of the idle animations from FT - WHEN I'm trying to do story pics and they suddenly do them even if I want them to stand still. You know - having just managed that horribly difficult animations on someone else, waiting for the right moment and... rubic's cube! *GRRRRR*

Sometimes I can actually use them though, so I don't want to remove them with a hack.

oh, and the whining of "there's something right in front of me, and I'm still whining even though it's fully possible to walk around it"

and the "I need to use the toilet very badly" animations when they're JUST OUTSIDE the toilet!!!

and... well, I could just go on and on...

But the worst thing is when you ask them to do something and they refuse to do it without using unneccessary long time (like when I needed Aidan to fall asleep LYING DOWN on the floor- and he fell asleep sitting up... several times in a row - AND every single time crawling around the entire livingroom that had almost more floor than furiture just to find a place to fall asleep on!)

@theraven: You can make sims pass out on command with the right animations hacks ;) Also, there's a pose box for FT, and now AL, right here (http://www.jd-movies.com/) ;) It's why I have a nohobbyanims hack in my story game downloads ;)

I know :) I have all the pose boxes (except the AL one, since I've not installed AL yet...). And I don't use the nohobby anims hack because sometimes I actually manage to use those anims in a good way. (and yes - I know they're also in the FT anim box)

I know about the pass out animations from them - BUT they don't work for toddlers...:(

I agree some animation should be turned off and treated a s a bug completely..
The "go-to-work" automatic action also very cumbersome...they come in the"middle" of our command row..:forwardr:

What is the most annoying to me, is when you tell a sim to go eat, then go pee and go to bed, and he drops all his actions, to whine about the fact that he's hungry, or has to pee or is sleepy. Seriously, if he'd just not whined to begin with he'd already be in bed! *sigh*

That was my pet hate too!! Until I got the hack from Paladin, its a lifesaver. I couldnt seem to run a business without all the employees running at windows to look at the 'oh so fun' hail or whatever. I had angry customers all over the show lol.

When they scratch like a monkey, it's just disgusting.

The crybaby actions when they got into a fight. That's but one of the reasons why I only create mean Sims. Mean Sims don't seem to do it.

Gah, I hate the autonomous, "It's Snowing!" or "It's Raining!" and they have to go look, too. If they're a new sim, they should do it once and that's it. Not every single time it happens. xD

Now if there was an autonomous "let's go outside and look at the lightning" action, all those irritating little so-and-so's would soon learn not to keep running to see the new weather.

110% agree about the smustle :mad: They don't even go up to the stereo either, they just do it where they are - which has sometimes been right in front of the school bus :x Fine if they're alone, but if there's a friend or sibling (or both) to get off afterwards - which makes it worse if the friend's the one who starts it. And of course everyone else then has to join in :mad:

Oh yes, and woe betide anyone with a teleprompter and child on lot, who hasn't discovered the "no play with teleprompter" hack...

I have always wondered if that mod works. Along with the footstomping I hate walking all around the lot to get to the next room. Like if they are in the kitchen but I queue the sim to go to the livingroom (next room), they will walk out the back door through the yard  and  out the gate to enter the front door and go to the livingroom. Finally realized that removing the gate will cure them from doing that. LOL! I know wierd.

i hate when sims cry over roaches when they can't seem to get rid of them especially the male sims seriously there is nothing more pathetic then seeing a grown male sim cry why can't they just call the damn extermenator for crying out loud. ;D

good topic! OMG I mostly hate the what's that action and also when there's a fire everyone runs to it and their needs fall really low. Oh and also when I put a toddler in the high chair, after a few minutes every sim rushes to take the toddler out though I want him/her to stay there.

One of the actions i hate that my Sims do is when you take ages to save up money to buy them a new lounge or a new decoration for their house then just after you feel accomplished and that your looking after your Sim......

They walk up to it and groan at it or half throw up because they think its disgusting!!

I've got hacks that stop almost all the really annoying stuff listed here, but the one I can't seem to find is one that stops them from going to a computer that is use, behind a locked door, or doesn't have a chair at the desk and throwing a snit fit. 

I hate it when I have 10 people at parties and all they do is whine because I've locked the door to the computer room.

Mostly everything that has been listed here ... the weather reactions, the kids dropping everything to run to their parents who just got home from work, but this one really gets me ...

When everyone in the neighborhood drops everything they are doing and comes running when your Sim is having a baby. Really, why? This doesn't happen in real life ... if a bunch of people you've never met came running into the room when you were having a baby, this would not be acceptable.  :rolleyes:

the book-reading ilde animation that some sims tends to do (FT feature...)
I do a lot of storytelling, and needed one sim to walk up the stairs. Whatever I did, she always took up that book, reading on her way up. I ended up changing the story a little, and took a picture of her walking and reading at the same time...

(and yes, I know about the hack that removes this... but sometimes I actually want them to do those animations, including the accessories they use...)

also, the "I can't walk here", or "I can't do that, because I can't get past a sofa even though there should be enough room, or I don't want to do it just because I'm hungry" animations.

Also, playing with free will on tends to spawn annoying animations and weird behaviours from the simmies, So I play with free will off. Saves me for a lot of those annoying things happening...

what's really annoying is sims always cooking lobster thermidor and ramen noodles what the duece is up with that? and how on god's green earth do you burn ramen noodles? 1headwall 1wtf

I agree Feisty. I hate the anims, but some times I like them, so I don't want to download the fixes and just delete them forever.

SOMETIMES I like my sims running to see snow, I understand their exitement, but how about they just do it once? I mean, WTF?

Anyways, what I hate the MOST is when random dogs come up to the front door and bark their ass off freaking out because we've locked the door. I HATE THAT!

We like to say we hate them, but deep down, we secretly love some of those annoying things.  :D Sometimes I like yelling "Dude? WTF?!" at my computer screen and having my sister laugh at me.
So, what actions do I sort of hate? I would have to say the ghosts. They provide a lot of amusement for a while when they jump into bathtubs and disappear and stuff, but then you get sick of them startling people.  ;)

i am guilty of yelling at my sims and not only that but i also swear at them and my dude will sit on the couch and laugh his off at me which i don't mind. ;D

i really don't mind the ghosts scaring my sims it's the breaking of lamps i don't like lol one time i had a ghost that broke four lamps in the house lol. ;D

My sims pet peeves.

When one of the children comes home from school with an (A) on their report card they run into the house to one of their parents yelling with excitement waving the paper around. i always have to turn the speakers down i get tired of hearing them.



When i work so hard setting up a sims wedding them when i have the wedding party started and im clicking the arch to begin their ceremony they stand their stomping their feet complaining something is in their way, when nothing at all is there but the arch!!


When i have my sims invite friends over and they go to the hotub and they wont leave! they end up sitting in the hottub all night!!

When the vampires keep walking outside during the day and just standing there or stalking around while they are smoking and about to catch fire!!


When sims keep walking past the bathroom while another sim is in their and they get this little thought bubble above their head with that sim with a line through it


Guests keep clogging the toilets in the bathrooms.

Guests keep peeing themselves at parties ( it does make me laugh when other sims point and laugh at them :P)

The nanny keeps laying the baby on the floor then going to the kitchen to bake a cake instead of taking care of the baby.

After a sim has a feud with another sim and they kick them out or break up with them, that sim keeps coming by their home kicking over the trashcan, stealing the gnomes or stealing their newspapers.


When children keep showing up at my adult sim nightclubs!! ( maybe i should kill off all children townies)


When sims drop what they are doing to go run to the space where a former objects sat that i just deleted and they start complaining and crying and whining because its gone .

which is why i am so thankful for that nowhat'sthis mod by J.M Pescado lol. 2laugh 1jump 1rofl 2rofl 1giggle

When people keep complaining about in-game animations and mechanics Pescado has already worked for and provides the whole community fixes for these very stuff, then his comment is NOT uncalled for.

So perhaps it might be as Heartless said: they all complain about stuff deep inside they are crazy about. Something like, love to hate you?

As for me, I hate the new animation that came with AL. I just want to kill them every time they do that.

You know what I used to hate? In the original The Sims, sometimes when your sims told a joke, they did a really stupid limerick, with a physical action very similar to the (really annoying) one joswan described with the rolling arms. That really annoyed the bejeezus out of me. I can't say I've found anything that annoying in The Sims 2, except for the really stupid slapping.

nalia i'm saying this in a very nice and polite way but no offense but i disagree with you on the uncalled for statement and yes it was uncalled for and not only that but it was also uncalled for being rude as well. i do not see other simmers telling him to stfu or being crude to him after all the title is what action or animation you hate the most in sims 2 and he also could have and should have been more nicer in his statement there is no excuse for such rudeness and hatefulness whatsoever  i'm sorry nalia and no offense but your statement really ticked me off and i see you complaining as well about hating the animation that came with al. i don't mean to offend you and i'm not flaming you and lord knows i'm not trying to hurt your feelings or anything but i call them as i see them.

It's a love to hate animation thread... and (with all due repect to Pescado)  the reason MATY stays relatively free of "twelveness."   

Just reading the threads you can tell which players are new and which aren't.  Since there are those who have only recently played or had time for the sims, what's old news to some is a novelty for others &/or still just as fresh and enjoyable or nervewrackingly funny, or irritating as hell.

Pescado has conquered these things true.  But take heart many don't have a clue who he is or what he does.  This is a home for simmers old and new.   We gladly vent about the stuff you are long bored with here at InSim because it's a relatively jerk-free non-rude zone to do it in.   

And we owe that all to you El Presidente.  :D

i've been playing the sims since 2000 i played sims  1 from 2000 to 2004 and have been playing sims 2 since 2004 to present.


i mean this in the nicest and most polite way but i don't think i'm gonna post in this thread anymore i am now very skiddish and afraid to post any actions or animations that i hate cause i don't want to fight with my fellow simmers and lose their respect and them being friendly to me i'll do that before anything gets worse i just do not wanna fight or argue i'm just skiddish and afraid to post in this thread. :'( :(


and i only download mods here at insimenator  by squinge and others here who create mods simply cannot stand pay sites must be destroyed or more awesome then you now there some nice people on there don't get me wrong but there are some really hateful and mean spirited people on there and i definately cannot stand how they treat newbies there i am very intolerant and will not associate with some of them who are hateful and mean spirited people like i said not everyone on those boards are hateful or mean and i find them very disrespectful in every sense  that is my main reason for not downloading or signing up on those two forums.

I think you take things far too seriously for your own good. Everyone is entitled to her/his opinion, there will always be people to disagree with or have different views on so many subjects. This is actually an EAxis "feature". Apparently, they feel that peeing is such an integral element of parties that they initialize EVERY PARTY GUEST to show up with low bladder motives, thus making sure they will pee themselves during the party. Naturally, I have stomped it to death.

There are a few... and I find myself swearing at the screen too ;D.
For instance, when a sim has just enough skill points to try a new dish, that's exactly what they do and they end up burning it...every time! I try to catch them before they start but of course they're sneaky! And even if it's burnt they want to eat it afterwards.
The fighting over babies also gets old very fast. I tried a hack for it but there was a conflict so I'm still looking.
I will be getting free time soon so I expect I'll be swearing a lot more! :-\

I hate making any member of the Goth household check their mail.
Why?
Because (and strangely, this is the ONLY lot this happens on) everyone who checks the mail carries the bills ALL the way to the back left corner of the lot.
Which makes no sense because that particular spot is nowhere near the mailbox.

They have plenty of space close to the mailbox to place the bills, but no, they feel they must walk entirely out of their way. And when I click the action again to stop it, they just keep strolling along. If I didn't want all of their belongings to be repossessed I'd just say to hell with the bills... ;D

I used to be sick of that, but now I figured out how to avoid that. Just when they get the mail out, X out their thing in the corner that says what they're doing, which I can't put my finger on what it's called, but just X out what they're doing, and they'll place it on the floor where they are.

I have also tried that, but it's like I never clicked it at all. They still walk two miles away from the mailbox. Crazy sims.

You must be doing something wrong... or your game acts weird??
If you cancel the action the moment they hold the letters they drop them right on the ground. Then you can click the mailbox and give them the order to "Pay all bills".

It's very possible that I'm doing something wrong  :D

But, I haven't played that lot in a while so I'll have to experiment.

Oh, when they're about to wet their pants or pass out and I tell them to go pee or go to bed, and they take the time to flail their arms and whine - I went ahead and killed a family of Sims that was doing that once.  If they'd STFU and quit whining, they'd get their needs taken care of!  And the little titty baby fits they throw when they can't get to something.  When the terrain is wonky and they have trouble reaching things the urge to kill rises!

And then the stupid dance on the parents' feet that the kids do.  It was cute the first 50 times, but now I can't stand their little whiney screaming voices while they're doing that.  I need to find a hack that deals with that!

Or when they're a little bit hungry and they go and serve a whole meal of lobster!

Also in Sims 1, Betty frickin' Newbie ALWAYS clogged up the damn toilets when she visited someone else!  Whenever she came over I could just expect to have one of my Sims unclog her crap from the stupid thing!

Don't you just miss dear, departed Betty sooooo much! :P

There are some actions/animations i dislike in the game. That doesn't mean i run instantly over at MATY to download a hack. I might like to dislike some actions. I dislike when i buy more furnitures, pics, lights to the sims, and they just HAVE to look, which makes sense. But the ungratefulness they're showing is what i dislike, when i am so nice to them.  :D EA has made a game where the characters are only happy when they get real expensive things. I dislike that even more.  >:D

This has probably been mentioned in this thread, and I remedied it with hacks from MATY, but I used to HATE the obsessive compulsive need for them to play SSX 3. I mean granted, it was a damn good game, and I still pop it into my PS3 (Backwards Compatibility FTW) from time to time, but JEEZ!!!

I must have spent hours trying to find something to make them stop, then I found the WCIF section, found the link to MATY, got the hack, as well as several others. Surprisingly enough, when I stopped them from playing SSX 3 all of the time, my Birth rate started rising. The lesson learned? When Sims can't play SSX 3, the WooHoo like damn rabbit.

I remember back in my vampire-infested 'hood, where the vamps would go "Bleh" all the time; sitting down, standing up, even in the middle of doing something. So annoying - I just kept shouting at the screen in the end for them to shut up! :mad:

One of my biggest pet peeves is when everyone tries to bathe my toddlers!  They have got to be the cleanest kids ever!  I think someone else mentioned this earlier, but it also irritates me when one of my sims will put my toddler in a highchair and serve him/her food, only to have someone else remove the toddler before they get a chance to eat!  It's like you turn your back for 2 seconds and chaos breaks out!  My sims cannot be trusted on their own!  :rolleyes:

I don't usually download a lot of hacks but the no baby harassment from MATY is a GREAT mod.Before I got it I was sooooooooooooooooo mad at my sims for not leaving the damn babies alone...the poor kid is trying to sleep for crying out loud,leave him alone!they would constantly go and take it out of the crib,then abandon it on the floor.The nannies drive me insane as well...they are useless....kids are crying and basically losing it so nanny decides it's time to go soak in the hot tub!

I agree, which is why I could not play my game without the mods/fixes of squinge, pescado, etc.  I like some quirks in game but some were just too annoying to ignore.

Oh and Feisty *gulp* I think I just may have to intentionally murder two of my sims.  I keep trying to get rid of them but they just won't take the hint and stay away, lol.   Paden do you know if the cowplant been modified for any game or do you need uni?  I only have double deluxe which includes nl & celebrations. if you know the answer, thanks in advance ;).

You need Uni for the cowplant. All the hacks do is alter its behaviour.

YES YES YES TIMES A MILLION. I hate this! Even when you lock the door to the baby's room because the kid is absolutely fine, the whole family will just stand there and gripe about how they can't get in and feed the baby even though he was fed a second ago. Needless to say, no baby harassment is my favorite hack.

I'm hungry ! I hate that , Igot the mod for no hungry , hygene and so forth , and now I only turn on the no hunger mode.

I think what I hate the most is when 3-4 sims get bottlenecked in a doorway and they are doing their darned best to get out of this “crazy maze” but all they can think of doing is taking a step and stomping angrily like morons over and over again… makes me so mad I just get them to teleport. Hehe.

When my sim goes out to a restaurant and the host, instead of seating him/her near a friend or two or even in the waitress' zip code, directs him to a table in another time zone.

Oh and another thing: I despise when a sim dreams about buying something (like a sculpture, etc.,) or has a want for something & then complains about it or puts up X's over it in thiir little thought bubbles like they hate it after you buy it.  I'm like "You asked for it ya lunkhead!!!!

LOL I get that a lot with telling them to do things. I've had playful sims roll wants to play chess, then of course when I tell them to do so they moan at me :P

My sims roll strange wants sometimes. Or do strange things. First thing my aspiring artist did after school was plonk his arse down in front of the box. I think his films and lit hobby scores higher than his PDH :rolleyes: As for the red X's through things, I notice that most with aspiration rewards. Like they don't want us to help them along in life or something; there's gratitude for you :P

The one thing that drove me grazy in the beginnig was the lecturing. I mean - for example - there's a baby in the crib with his/hers diaper full of *** and the adult sim goes to him/her but instead of changing the diaper, the mommy/daddy begins to lecture to the poor baby. 1blink What's that about? Like it's the baby's fault that he/she did it in the diaper. Were the parents expecting the baby to jump out from the crib and go to the toilet? Geez... 4gah

That happens EVERY TIME my poor Sims baby's have a dirty diaper. The stupid Sims will actually stop and lecture them. It's like, "No, I am directing you to CHANGE it, not yell at the kid!" LOL. My Sims are bad parents.

1titter that's hilarious Nalia.  My nanny did that once.  Instead of changing the baby she went to the crib and lectured it & then never changed it!  Needless to say I sacked her.

Should Nanny had done that she would had been fried alive! LOL

I hate when employees stop doing their job and go the window to watch raining or snowing.

The adult sims sticking their fingers in their ear and singing the sim equivalent of "La la la I can't hear you!" action they do when someone they don't like is talking or when they're bored.

Actually, they put their fingers in their ears when the other Sim is talking about a subject they don't like in the least, *not* when they don't like the Sim. I have two brothers who are very, very close and love each other very much, and still one of them did this "I don't want to hear a word!" animation while his brother talked about something that didn't interest him. They also yawn or look their nails when the subject in questions is boring.  Personally, I like these reactions, they are hilarious. LOL

I like the yawn/look at their nails animation just not the fingers in the ear--for the adults anyway. For kids & teens maybe ;).

The "I've got to pee!" thing when their bladders get low. They just keep doing that even when you've directed them to use the blasted toilet. Not to mention the times they piddle right in front of the bloody thing.  :p

I hate that animation when they drink the potion that changes their tastes. Ugh...

I was thinking of investigating finding a hack to stop that rubics cube thing. Everyone has to wait on them to finish before they go on trips or help with anything like the baby is on fire! (exaggeration).

I hate noogies! So infantile! The teens will just finish having a romantic moment with their steady and ruin it with a damn noogie!

I hate That the men can leap into the women's arms - who does that?

I hate the passing out into the dinner plate when they are tired.

I hate that 2 sims will walk around in circles forever trying to get around each other - how about just stopping and letting the other one pass?

I hate that there is no option to spank children when they ruin the floors with splashing in puddles or throwing tantrums.

I hate that the adults spontaneously participate in pillow and water balloon fights. It is so  stupid!

I hate that in CAS, you cannot let an adult be the spouse of an elderly person.

I hate that toddlers play in the toilet.

I hate that toddlers cannot climb out of cribs.

I hate that children cannot have more interactions with babies/toddlers.

I hate the employment situation - why the heck can't old people have full-time jobs?

I hate the whole one spouse thing - why can't Sims be polygamous?

I really hate this: Why does every teen yearn to go to college? That is not realistic!

I hate that YA Sims can't get jobs while in college. Most college kids work!

And I especially hate that when my YA Sims get married or engaged in college and they graduate, the partner always gets left behind. Why can't they leave together?

Finally, I hate that Sim mommies give birth standing up! WTF?

If by chance I play with free will on, I hate that one sim can be doing absolutely NOTHING; just standing staring blankly ahead, and another sim will "congratulate" him or her.

Really? Congratulate them for what, not having moved over the past six hours?

Yeah the random congradulations are annoying. I also used to hate whenevr my sim babies played in the toilet but I guess one of my EP's got rid of that cuz they dont do that anymore

Just wait until you walk in and see your own kids or your relative's children/friend's child playing in the pot, you'll do a massive face palm or head bang on the wall, specially when you see how nicely they decorated the bathroom with the special two-ply toilet paper.

Or how about when they decide that the "floaty things" in the toilet they just used are extra fun to play with? Now that's always fun to walk in on.

How about when they take the toilet plunger and try to make their rubber duckie go down the drain... One of last week's adventures, don't ask...

That's nothing. Try finger painting on the bathroom walls. You can guess with what.

Been there. But, the landlord is coming over tomorrow to put in a new toilet. Tell you much?? :P

Gee I must be tired. I started to say how fun I thought finger painting the bathroom with the kids was.  Um hey we used washable paints not the er, other stuff. Going to be locking the bathroom doors now too, thanks Paden 1titter.

On topic:

Currently I'm not appreciating that sim parents stay all bright-eyed after a long night of caring for baby.  They ought to at least look tired as heck and have some type of "sleepless night" memory & sleep through the night want. Yep new baby nights are making me want a real life motive adjuster.

I hate when they talk to the flour baby!! :-[

Don't know if it's already been mentioned (I was too lazy to read the entire thread) but I HATE when they complain when you tell them to do something they don't like, like working out if they're lazy or watch TV if they're active.

1. The automatic "Make bed"! Why is it that whenever one sim gets out of bed and forgets to make his/her bed, every other sim in the house thinks it's their responsibility drop what they're doing to make it for them at the same time? I've had so many traffic jams on the stairs or at bedroom doors because of that.

2. When a child or teen comes home from school, puts their homework on the computer desk, and for some reason can't pick the homework back up and do it. Every time I make them do their homework, they do the little animation that happens when something is in their way

lol most of these problems can be solved with free-will off. I hate when they don't automatically go to the car for work when you have free-will off, instead a message pop-ups telling you that your sim needs to be at work in an hour. By the time you make it to your car, your sim is already late. This also applies to washing dishes after eating. ugh.

This is going to sound stupid, but I hate the eating animations. 

Say I've just created an elegant, ladylike sim that puts Julia Child to shame and decorates her home in all pink, white, and kittens.  She makes an elaborate meal for herself and her guests, sits down and then shoves the plate in her face and starts shovelling.  Food bits spraying everywhere. It's not really a 'kill her!' moment, but it's more like a facepalm.  And then to add insult to injury, she stands up and rips a nice green fart in her guests' faces.

That would get you beat up in a boys' dorm, much less an elegant lady's house!

(I also agree with missme74: I wants polygamy for my sims, too.)

My sim cooked dinner for her family but when she served it, she put plates not only on tables in her house but the tables outside too(the family lives in an apartment/townhouse complex)

There's a few that annoy me the most. Of course I downloaded stopper mods for most of them, thankfully.

-Anything that has to do with Babies and Toddlers. Just leave them alone for three seconds so I can take care of them with one Sim, like I intended!
-Kids and Teens going ballistic when they get an A+. The first time's understandable, the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth are not.
-Neighbors insisting that they can use everything in your house. No, you cannot play SSX 3 on my computer. No, you cannot watch the TV in my kid's room. No, you cannot turn on the radio and leave it so that my Sims moan about it when I send them to bed.
-Guests staying in the Hot Tub long after your Sims have gone to bed. The only way that you can kick them out is by doing Say Goodbye/Ask To Leave to all guests. Even when everyone else leaves, those people in the Hot Tub are just chillin' away.
-Employees leaving their job to do something. This happened to me when I had a Sim enter a dance contest downtown and then I saw the Host leave his station (with customers, mind you!) to join the dance contest. Needless to say I fired him immediately.

That's always bugged me too.  I think it either stopped when my sim had a family or using inSimenator to set plate portions did the trick (it's been a while since I've been able to play).
