Title: Butler burns food
Post by: Wembeley on September 21, 2008, 04:13:18 pm
I've got a couple of butlers who always burn the food when they cook.  Anybody know a fix for this?

Why should butlers be any different than nannies?  :P

Have the Sims2 Employment agency screen them and disallow sloppy Sims, mean sims, and only accept butlers and nannys, with High cleaning and cookong skills.

Mod them.

Service Sims have been borked skill and personality wise since the game came out. I've even seen NPC Chefs in restaurants with no cooking skill, when I have used "make selectable" on them.

Yea I used the butler this weekend and found the same thing. He kinda does the cleaning of the house half a**. And constantly burns my food too.

Well... off to google to search for some better NPC mods!

I have more mods in my game than I have objects. Whats a few more??? Mind you most of them are fixes for EA's incompetence............

EDIT - Actually, has anyone had the problem where lighting will catch a tree on fire and the butler then runs to call the firemen but by the time the firemen get to the home the fire is gone and they fine you the $500 for a false alarm?

My butler is constantly cooking food and then walking away to tend a child or something. This always results with my house catching fire and a mad dash to run outside (one of my toddlers was left behind once).

That sounds great, how does one find the Employment Agency?

It was a joke. It means mod the butler's skills. :)
InSimenator provides the "make selectable/unselectable" optioin.
"Boolprop testingcheats enabled true" enables the means to directly mod thei skills.
As analternative, one can use the insimenator again for this.
When finished, set them to unselectable again.

Thanks.  I figured it was something like that but some people have created so many great things for TheSims I figured not to "assume" :)  Which version of InSimenator is this?  I noticed that there are three versions and it says to only install one of them and I figured it's not the Object one but have been trying to decide between the other two as to which has the most mods I would use the most.  Selecting the butler and upping his cooking skills is definitely something I'd like to be able to do. (I know everyone plays Sims differently for instance I don't see any need to download a moneymaking mod when "motherlode" is so easy to use but I know some people don't like those kinds of cheats.)

I've been using this version since I discovered InSim back when OFB was the latest.
This is my currently installed InSim: InSIMenator (UV) v2.9 SIM Edition.package

Cool, that's the version I was leaning toward.  Thanks.
