Title: BodyShop Nightmare From Hell Post by: SimGirl20 on November 15, 2008, 11:22:10 pm I'm so very sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I didn't know who else to turn to I'm having real problem guys so please don't move this post I need help a.s.a.p. ok here it goes
I just noticed this today so it hasn't been a problem for long but defiantly a critical one...the problem is I cannot open BodyShop it's like it 'crashes and will terminate' before it even loads!:blob6: and I have looked on MTS2 for help and there faqs tell me to delete my cache files- accesory.cache, registry.cache, groups.cache and my cigen package. MTS2 said if these files become too big then BodyShop will stop responding and that it is pefectly safe to delete them because the game regenerates new ones when it loads but I found something under My Documents/EA Games/The Sims2/ that MTS2 does not mention and its this TS2 Body Shop 2008.11.15 txt. (which popped up in there after it confirmed body shop has crashed and has kept crashing repeatedly) Exception time: 11/15/2008, at 14:13:45. Exception code: 0xE06D7363 (-529697949) . sims without BS nor new clothes and this really worries me:bawl: that I may have to re-install which is not an option for me so if anyone could help I would be eternally grateful and just so you know my latest EP is Seasons and that is indeed the BS file I have been using... -Amber Title: BodyShop Nightmare From Hell Post by: Tenshii~Akari on November 15, 2008, 11:31:11 pm If you've made any sims in Bodyshop or extracted any sims from in-game and saved them in your SavedSims folder, you might want to try moving that particular file out of your Sims 2 directory and someplace safe, then try running Bodyshop to see what happens. It's possible you have a corrupt sim in that file. ;)
Otherwise, if that doesn't work, you may have a problem lying with an incompatible or corrupt custom content file in your Downloads folder. Title: BodyShop Nightmare From Hell Post by: SimGirl20 on November 16, 2008, 12:05:32 am I have extracted several sims out of the game into my Saved Sims folder from SimPE to BS in the past couple of days but I should say that I went to the booty last night and downloaded a couple of Peggy Donation hairs could they be what the problem is because like I say I noticed early this morning when I was going to open up BS and check them out...perhaps I should delete them or delete my recently extracted sims from out of my Saved Sims folder?
Thanks 4 All Your Help It Is Greatly Appreciated Hi sorry to double post but I should also say that I stupidly remember extracting a Sim that I corrupted within the game using the moveobjects on cheat to BS:angry7: this is what happened and it made me shiver because of how freaky she looked and mind you I had just finished watching AmityVille but anyway she was in the pool and I made her float on her back while I was taking screenshots and accidentally moved her and resumed the game and I thought all was well UNTIL she got out of the damn pool she would climb out of the pool and immediatly sink into the ground and her arms would be stroking like she was still swimming and she would go through walls and and doors and I was like:???: and if I would interact with anything she would pop up out of the ground and when she was finished would go back into the ground and you could hear the water sloushing/swimming sound and only her head was visible *shudders* so I made another sim that looked exactly like her bu extracting her forgetting that she was screwed up but this was like what you say a week ago why would BS be just now noticing this? it has to be the Peggy hair right? well either way I moved my Saved Sims file to my desktop like instructed and now am waiting on BS to load *fingers crossed!* -Amb Update: Ah yes I see she was indeed the problem! BS opened right up but I can't find this boinked sim in my SS file would it be safe to just delete everything out of there I mean I can make new sims its no biggie and the ones I want to clone I can do it through SimPE which I know is not messed up thank you Tenshi for your help though Title: BodyShop Nightmare From Hell Post by: rwills on November 16, 2008, 07:05:29 am Easy to fix the permanently swimming Sim.
Use boolprop testingCheatsEnabled true, then Shift-click on that Sim and force an error. Choose delete. The Sim will disappear (but is not permanently gone). Then use boolprop testingCheatsEnabled false and exit the lot. When you next enter that lot, the Sim should be cured of perma-swimmism. Title: BodyShop Nightmare From Hell Post by: SimGirl20 on November 17, 2008, 02:16:01 am LMFAO! I never thought of that I still have her in SimPE somewhere I don't know how to delete her through SimPE but I did delete her in the game but shes still labled as 'default' in the Sim pool in SimPE so I dunno but I change my mind relativley fast when playing homes so now I'm in an Apartment Living Kick and want to furnish an apartment I downloaded from MTS2 so yeah it might be OCD or something lmfao but I NEVER stay in one house for more than a day (irl) so its no biggie and I found the corrupted sim that was causing BS to crash BUT to my dismay alot of my thumbnails have become corrupted now:smt120 they mostly show that horrid Seasons Outerwear ya'll know what I'm talking about those of you with Seasons loool
Title: BodyShop Nightmare From Hell Post by: caffeinated.joy on November 17, 2008, 02:28:30 pm Another way to fix stuck sims is to turn the moveobjects cheat on, go into buy mode, then select and delete the offending sim. Save and exit to the neighborhood. When you re-enter the lot your sim will be waiting for you by the mailbox.
Title: BodyShop Nightmare From Hell Post by: EKozski on November 17, 2008, 02:39:22 pm I never knew that. I always thought if you deleted a Sim that way, it was gone for good.
I swear, when I use move objects on and move a Sim, I feel like I'm performing brain surgery. I am so careful. Thank you for the lesson, CJ. Title: BodyShop Nightmare From Hell Post by: caffeinated.joy on November 17, 2008, 03:53:26 pm *Puts on professor's cap* you're welcome, Ed :)
