I like alot of the ideas mentioned already...one i didn't see tho that annoys me is say mom is making dinner and the dad or teens go to the frig cuz their hunger is low and then they get in each others way and waste food...if mom is making dinner for everyone why can't the rest of them know this and wait for her to set it on the table? It would be nice if you could assign chores to different family members and change them each day if u want....ex. one takes out the trash...one clears the table and does the dishes...one of the adults automatically gets the mail and pays the bills...i hate it that everyone tries doing the samething and again get in each others way...i guess i would like it if only one sim decides to do something and starts it first the rest leave it alone and do something else....same with the putting the baby or toddler in the bed...if mom picks up the child first let her do it and the rest leave the poor child alone...i guess what i'm saying here is let them have a little concept of what is happening with each other...

well i'll get it cuz i like decorating my homes and my favorite room is the kitchen...my sims usually have big kitchens and living rooms...I own 3 stuff packs and FFS was the 1st. but i don't even have it installed anymore..there wasn't really that much stuff that i was thrilled about...the other 2 H&M and TSS i like...altho i'm sure there is some of it i never use or will use...I want to add with the sp's you do get a couple of new homes associated with the theme of the pack...so i guess it all boils down to what you like and want in your game....but i do think expansions are a must have...

I got this too on some of the hair i downloaded....i think when the creator of the mesh made them it was on a custom sim and therefore may not fit properly on another....their head may have been bigger and when u put it on certain sim with smaller or other shape head and face u will get this..this is my guess...

I just had a boy taken away too, he had a teenage sister and their mother died..i was going to have the sister raise him well i was playing without cheats and it was really rough cuz i had to sell stuff to survive and the reason they took him was cuz i couldn't keep up with their homework and he had failing grades....well anyways i went and played the Burb family and decided to adopt cuz i had read this post and didn't know they went in the pool...the 1st. call and they got that boy his name was the same as the one i gave him..course was Burb for the last name now, but what was really stupid is he had no family ties for his original family and that seemed stupid to me...his older sister should still b listed as his sister...well that same day Lucy a teen now brought a friend home and it is his sister....but it was like he never met her....then the rest of the night i kept getting warnings the social worker was going to take him cuz naturally he still had a F for his grade...all night while they r sleeping it kept coming up....and i'm thinkin great he comes at 10am after school starts and he is going to b taking before i have a chance to get him to school once....but they didn't and he is a A+ student now and happy.....Whew!!!!!

I have been so nervous about downloading alot of CC for fear it would make my game real slow...and i don't know how to do all the creative stuff u guys do, however i do know where to put my Sims cd in and play it....LOL
I see alot of stuff i would like myself...mayb i will start a black book too...and just go for the CC craze....

I really don't understand all this info. but my game plays good...i don't have much CC only about 900 things...not sure the Gb of them...The only thing i have is after playing for awhile i get some temporily freeze for few seconds then it is fine again....I notice most of the freezing happening when sim or pet walks by or when maid, delivery truck, ect. come...I have most of the graphics enabled and on high...I really don't have a problem with Vista other than when i first installed my games it said it wasn't compatible...but I got them to work somehow don't remember now how....I also have all the expansions and H&M stuff pack...so all in all I'm satisfied....

Boy!! u guys r great I am glad that u r all having fun with this thread...So I want to help a little with the baby, toddler problem that is going on or at least what I have found....If u have "Seasons" it is setup that with each season there is something special about it...Spring is for Love so romantic encounters r greater...Summer is for friends...so they increase at a faster rate....Fall has the little leaves swirling around the skill bar...so u learn faster....and last winter is for Family and I have noticed the whole family bounds more at this time including the dog or cat they seem to want attention more then also...So the holding the baby thing and everyone with the que to put them to bed at the same time seems to b greater during this season...and trying to get them to do something else and cancel the que is very difficult....As for the ones who say they r yelling at their screens saying leave the damn baby alone...I do the same thing. I've had a few visitors say bye and leave while holding my baby and i'm yelling hey where u going with my baby, next i see the baby reappear on the sidewalk....I mean how rude to just walk off with my baby.
I know I've read that even a parent has taken a baby to work before...LOL  this has happened to me also and even with a puppy....the day the mother took the baby to work kind of ticked me off cuz I still got charged by the Nanny who was there to take care of my baby and she just sat around all day   watching TV and playing chess or swimming in my pool.
I thought of something else that happened to me that was real strange...I had my sim marry Mortimer Goth and then decided to move them to a house I downloaded that I love by the way..."The Jana House by Dinki on here" submits plug for Dinki's creativeness..LOL  Well Alexander was a teenager and I planned to move him back to the Goth house eventually as he is the male heir...well I didn't know if I moved them out if the family graves would still be there when I moved him back in or not....so I didn't want to lose them so i put them in Alexander's inventory...Well when we all moved to The Jana house and I released the pause button...I couldn't believe what happened everyone of them graves was lined up on the sidewalk just like my family....So i checked  Alexander's inventory to see if some how they fell out during the move....then the other shock came.....in his inventory all the tombstones were still there....Then i cracked up laughing cuz i thought it was so funny that the dead follow u when u move....Weird or what....I didn't know what to do cuz i didn't want to have the graves be gone so i could never have Alexander take them back to The Goth house where they belong and i certainly didn't want to save them in his inventory and have double of them...it was bad enough having the first set wandering around haunting the lot. and i wasn't sure if it would mess up my game somehow so i deleted the ones on the sidewalk and I haven't checked yet to see if the graves in the inventory will still work...i was playing the land lubber challenge but when i go back i will see what happens and let u guys know....BTW if u leave a grave on a lot when u move will it still b there when u move back or if another family moves in?

When i just checked this again i seen the wine makin barrel.....i use to love making the gnomes real and watching them swim in the tub and come out drunk and singing....that was funny and cute....i handed down my sims 1 to my daughter...i should get them back and go play them again just for fun....

I don't know if this was ever mentioned way back...i usually don't play the already in game sims but i decided to play brandi's house...partly cuz i wanted to let her have that kid she is preg. with cuz got sick of her visiting my sims houses and throwin up all the time in their toilets....
So back to my discovery...i looked thru her memories and found that her husband died before little Beau was born...but when she has this kid she is currently preg. with it shows Skip her dead husband as the father...??
How can this be??? i was so surprised cuz i figured she was preg. by someone in the neighborhood...only logical explaination...

Yep i remember makin magic...i kind of miss those objects...honey making spinning wheel ect. i think i miss the dog bath the most....i was surprised it wasn't in the 2nd. one....u got to have a little bigger bathrm. set up just so now so that there is room for the dog and u to give them a bath or they can't do it...and if i put a tub outside to use for the dog the sims will go take baths in it...

I play with it on...when it's off and u r directing the other sim to do something the ones not being told just stand there....i did however play with it off when i 1st. got BV...cuz the insimenator wasn't ready yet...they just didn't use there heads and they were falling on the floor cuz they were exhausted and peeing their pants ect....

Hi everyone,

1. If u take out your downloads folder and just put it on your desktop...and then were to reinstall your games...can u just drag and drop the downloads folder back in? or do u have to extract and reinstall everything again?Same questions with the game patches too.

2. if u were playing a family u made and u saved your game a few times....then u decided u didn't want the family anymore and u put them in the bin and delete them...is there still things in folders somewhere in the game still? and if so how do u get rid of it and them?

3. also i remember when i use to play sims 1 it was so much easier to know what everything was in my folders for the game...sims 2 is so confusing to me and i don't know what all the stuff is...infact almost nothing....With sims 1 i had all the expansions just like with sims 2.... but i used to take out stuff i never would use from sims 1 like clothes....hats... now in sims 2 i don't use alot of the clothes and head stuff mostly the costume stuff like the diving suit ect...is there a way to remove them to make the game run better?
