Sorry I haven't commented sooner, but it has been a VERY long week and weekend. This chapter gave me chills again. Junior and his "What's my name" is such a abusive tendency phrase. His 'tender' dehumanization of Rita is truly frightening, calling her girl instead of her name, demanding her obedience in everything... *shiver* It reminds me of some of the cases I have read on PervertedJustice.com.

That just doesn't look right.

I agree that in most relationships (marriage or otherwise) there is a stronger leading the not so strong, however, I don't think it has to be the male that takes the 'leader' role. In an honest and healthy relationship the one who leads should be the one that is stronger in the problem at hand.

True equality is a pipe dream, we all have our strengths and weaknesses, if we didn't it would make life REALLY boring. What we need to find is the ability to admit when we should lead and when we should follow per situation.



As am I, and I am not ashamed to admit that this type of belief structure is why I am not a member of the Christian faith, I won't go into it here, this isn't the forum for it. I just feel it is time for people to stand up and take control of their own lives, their own actions without using religion, race, handicap, or one of the hundreds of other excuses as a shield.

*deep breath* Vita... *another deep breath* This was my favorite chapter so far. Getting this deep into Junior's head was an amazing ride. The fanaticism, the pure maleness of him is both intriguing and downright frightening. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, even the power of God! Mix that with the psyche of a natural born leader, throw in the fact that what he is destined to lead people (some good some bad) in a bad situation is a recipe for...... a delightful disaster.

Junior is the type of person that truly frightens me. He is smart enough to know right from wrong, but just tainted, jaded enough to truly believe that the ends justify the means, no matter what the means are. At this point, Junior scares me more than his daddy does.
